Yes Hall of Monuments Weapon Bug[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Hello there, while this might not be the exactly correct place to put this, I feel more should made aware of the bug related to Destroyer Weapons and Hall of Monuments, while displaying weapons they get customized with out the added +20% damage, this potentially ruins the weapon, wasting quite alot of cash for the owner. Biz 16:28, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

This sounds pretty serious. I will send to QA immediately. Thanks. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 18:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Not that Im getting overconfident, but is there any chance at all my axe can be changed into "normally customized" ? Biz 19:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
This isn't a bug, its a feature. Think carefully about what you put there :P — Skuld 19:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not complaining about getting weapon customized, it's that it was customized without extra damage. Biz 19:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I was planning to get (on long term base) all 5 bows up there for my ranger, started with placing the Destroyer Longbow up Yesthere, but on my monument it only shows up as Destroyer Bow instead of Destroyer Longbow. Could that be modified as well? Otherwise it will be pretty useless to get the 5 different bows... No point in seeing 5 times Destroyer Bow up on my monument ;-) grtz --User Tribina Mulogo.jpg (Tribina / talk) 20:37, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Gotcha, sorry. — Skuld 21:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
QA has created a report number for this, and it will be examined today. We do feel that there should be no "penalty" in this situation, so you can expect that some sort of change will be in place soon. (It will likely require a live build, so may be a few days away.) I'll post when I have more info. Thanks. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Aren't all items that are placed into the HoM "customized"? I think that a warning should be issued before letting a player do this though. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 19:46, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Speaking with QA and the designers, here's an update on this issue: All new Destroyer Weapons will receive the modifier in a live build that may come as soon as today. All old items will be updated to include the modifier, but that will come in a later build. So there will be a few days where new and old items will differ, but most likely by the end of this week, all will be working as intended. Thanks for your patience as we get these two tweaks into place. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 22:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Will Destroyer Longbow show up in HoM as a Destroyer Longbow and not as Destroyer Bow? Would love to see the name change so I can get all bows in time =) grtz ;-) --User Tribina Mulogo.jpg (Tribina / talk) 20:27, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Think its just unlocking "Destroyer Bow" not particular type, or else there wouldn't be enough room on the pedestal to house all possible permutations of destroyer items. Well at least the customizing weapons is "fixed". Biz 21:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Tradable Customized items[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

For some reason, attempting to trade customized minipets or weapons doesn't give either player any warnings that the items are customized; I can't remember if it did before, but it doesn't now. Some poor guy in-game bought a mini-Hydra that was customized, but it didn't give him any warnings, so he never noticed. Of course now, he's stuck with a minipet he can't use, and probably has no way to get rid of it. To test, I attempted to trade him my Customized mini Fungal Wallow, and my customized Daggers; but no warnings at all, not on either person's end. This should definately be looked into; as it is, people can add minipets to the Hall of Monuments, then just quickly sell off the pets without anyone noticing. Not to mention, selling people useless weapons, and probably, selling new players maxed out armor sets without mentioning that it doesn't work like that. If there was a warning like this at some point, it got turned off, and needs to be re-activated as soon as possible; if there wasn't, then we need to make one, especially as most people don't even know about customized minipets. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 02:30, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

This is not a good thing -- there should definitely be a warning about the mini being customized. I will pass this along to QA tonight. Thanks! --Gaile User gaile 2.png 03:59, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Just tested in the game, and I was definitely getting a "this is customized" warning when trying to trade something traditionally blocked from trading, like a customized weapon. I do not have a customized mini to test, but you mentioned that you did not get a warning message for the customized daggers, right? Did you experience that with just the daggers, or with the daggers and the mini? The point is, is the customized mini the issue with "blocking" the warning message -- that's what I'm trying to figure out. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 06:12, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
This have been tested and the "This item is customized" message has appeared every time. I suppose it's possible that the message wasn't visible, or wasn't seen, but the message is appearing, according to both my own and QA's more-extensive testing. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
That does seem strange; to answer your previous question, the message wasn't showing up with the daggers AND the minipet in the same trade window; I didn't check with just the daggers alone, I don't think. I may have had another set of daggers in the window as well, which may have caused the problem. I'll run the test again, actually, just to be sure; it's possible that the message does appear, but might not if there are multiple items in the window. If that's the case, it wouldn't be hard for someone to "throw in" some extra items as a bonus. I'll post what I find out, just to wrap this all up. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 03:59, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Apparently, it does give you a warning when trading minipets, armor, and weapons. The warning doesn't come until after you hit accept, and it's a rather big warning... the guy that got ripped off might have clicked too fast to read it, though. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 16:31, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Red Flashing Enemies; We need some attention[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Hey there Gaile. I wanted to know if you were aware of this thread on GWO: http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=462588

We'd really like to know whether or not ANet is aware of this problem as it is causing some considerable physical distress to many players. I, myself, have been unable to finish GWEN because I simply cannot play for long periods of time due to this issue. I'm by no means a sickly person, I'm a fencer, archer, and martial artist, it rather sucks to be brought down by a bug in a game I'm also equally passionate about. As bad as it is for me, it is 100x worse for some people who are having seizures or progressively severe migranes. We really need to know something on this. Please, at least let us know you are aware of us or haven't forgotten our plight.

Thanks!

I'm sorry that I did not notice this when I was making an update on the forums. Here is the very latest: This matter has been under intense research by our QA team, in conjunction with the artist involved with the "hit flashes" and their change. Currently, each and every monster or mob is being spawned, and the flash intensity is being checked in a setting (model viewer) that allows an accurate appraisal of the brightness or vividness of the flash. Changes have been made on test servers in advance of rolling out a change to the live game. Incidentally, a few areas still need to be tested, and a few monsters types may be tweaked for this later, but we will almost certainly be rolling out the majority of fixes in one of the very next live builds. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:08, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Fix is going live very soon, and will be added to, if needed. We feel that some monster hit effects may have been inadvertently turned off altogether, and we'll fix that, as well, in a future build. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:23, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I know you said that more enemies may be tweaked yet, but just FYI, I've seen the Aurochs monsters in the Far Shiverpeaks still flashing brightly since the fix was implemented. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 16:27, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Including Berserking Bison. It was hurting my eyes and I've never suffered from that visual effect before X_x -elviondale (tahlk) 04:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Problems with Xunlai Agents[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

I was just wondering if there was any chance they might fix the problems people have been having (since the Xunlai Chests were changed) with the Xunlai Agents in various towns and guild halls any time soon?
The Wizard's Isle guild hall is one of the more annoying, as you cannot (98% of the time) run from the loading point to the Xunlai Chest without getting stuck between the Xunlai Agent and the wall. There is no clear pathing and with her standing out there in the way, it's just annoying to have to click and run a big circle around her to get back behind and to the Xunlai Chest. There is a rare occasion when you'll actually manage to squeeze between her and the wall, but more often than not you just run into the corner and get stuck, then have to go all the way around. It's not a crucial issue, but it sure is annoying and aggravating at times.
Yes, it's nice that there is an Agent at every Chest location and you can purchase storage for new characters even in the guild halls, but since the majority of the time you run to Xunlai it's to open the Chest, not see the Agent (since you only have to buy the storage once) would it not be easier on everyone if they were moved back some, or even if the Xunlai Agents and Xunlai Chests were to switch places? ~ User:J.Kougar J.Kougar 16:43, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Seconded. It's trivial, but still not worth vetoing imo. Counciler 21:02, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Naga Shaman Polymock piece[edit]

Hi Gaile. Could you please report to the QA team that the Naga Shaman Polymock piece is currently broken. The two main spells of this piece (Polymock Spirit Rift & Polymock Painful Bond) deal no damage to your opponent. Thanks. Chriskang 23:32, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Should be in a live build today or tomorrow. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Gaile .

Yes Three PvE Skills[edit]

Small bug, but a bit annoying. If you have 3 PvE skills on your bar and try to replace a PvE skill with another PvE skill (so that you will still have three PvE skills when replaced), you get a warning saying you can only have three PvE skills and the leftmost PvE skill is deleted. --Ravious 02:05, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Easily fixable, and not really worth fixing, just take the third skill off your bar, and replace it. -UserDrago-sig.gif Drago

similar bug/problem so im posting here. The Capture sigs appear to be listed as PVE only skills, this is not the problem. The problem is when i (sometimes the only Healer in my team with just one other monk as prot) go out and cap a new skills, it removes my current elite skill from my skill bar. This isnt a problem when my only goal is to cap a skill then zone out, but the first time it happened to me was mid mission and i was without my elite healing skill. We did ok but it was an unexpected nuisance - soulfoot

Yes, I would like clarification of the Signet of Capture is indeed a "PvE Skill" for the purpose of the "3 PvE Skill" limit. While the Cap Sig is only usable in PvE, I do not think it should be counted as a PvE skill for this purpose. Me55enger 14:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Party Search Trade bug[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Shouting "WTS blah blah blah blah" in town puts your item into the party search but there's no way to un-list yourself. Unchecking the Seek Party box doesn't remove you from the list. Unchecking the box, rechecking the box and then unchecking again DOES remove you from the list --64.81.87.16 02:50, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Are you spamming it after you are unchecking the box? - UserDrago-sig.gif Drago
No. Try the instructions in exact order and you'll see what happens. --203.218.97.23 03:02, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Ticking and un-ticking the box doesn't remove you from the party search list anyway. --86.107.220.132 03:49, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
That could explain why I saw someone with 18 party search requests in Eye of the North and 11 in Lion's Arch at the same time. I have screen shots of both if anyone is interested. Broodling67 04:41, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I will pass this along to QA, but please remember, I do have a bugs page that would be the best place to house this sort of report. (I'll most this now.) Thanks. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 05:55, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes "Resilience" monument bug[edit]

Hey. Resilience monument is currently bugged, displaying all armors in same color as the currently equipped armor instead of what color they were when you placed them in. --Toge 08:06, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Don't complain - take some people to see your hall and wear black armour when you do so and then your friends thing you have several sets of black armour. FirstSunspear 09:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Black armor is nice, but just because you have black armor doesn't mean you are a God in Guild wars. If you put up, for example, Black Elite Glads for a warrior, then you have white Primeval you want to put up, you want it to be white, not black, and thats the way the monument should be right now, but its not. --- Warrior Raptors
Resilience use to be just paper dolls of from location of where you got your armor not even in your profession, really its quite fine as it is right now. Biz 11:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Sigh. This bug was brought to attention so that it would be fixed. I really don't care if you people think what is bugged shouldn't be fixed because you can abuse its broken state. And what is broken is not broken enough to be taken to scrap yard. This topic needs nothing but Gaile's "This issue is relayed" message to serve its purpose. --Toge 12:50, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Toge, I do not like the way all the armor displays the current color of your equipped armor. Not all my armors are the same color, in fact, most look hideous when not in their predetermined color. i wish this would be changed.Old Man Of Ascalon 11:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes "By Ural's Hammer!" bug[edit]

Skill description: Shout. For each ally within earshot who is under 50% Health, you have 5...10 seconds of +2 Health regeneration and do 25% more damage.

This skill doesn't give an effect from allied minions or spirits. I remember that IWAY was stopped from triggering on minions, is this an unintended consequence or not? If it's not supposed to trigger on any summonend creatures, the skill description should state this. --Maestro Ed 20:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Slayer's exile[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

I don't know or this is the right page to post, but people have been able to acces this elite dungeon without completing Eye of the North first. This is done by partying with ONE member who has defeated the great destroyer. I can't imagine this is the way it is supposed to be. Jelmewnema 15:25, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

From what Ive seen you can piggyback everywhere in Gwen as long as some one been/going somewhere, not like its wrong, brings forth that ever longed for "openness" to the player to decide wither they want to do quests or not. Biz 16:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
You're right about the fact that people can go anywhere, however slayer's exile is a exception. You normally can't enter the dungeon when you haven't defeaten the great destroyer yet. If you read the quest acceptance dialoge, it will be clear why you have to complete the game first.Jelmewnema 16:43, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I will inquire about this -- I'm torn as to whether this is an error or working as designed. I'll let you know what I learn. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 18:14, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Lacking english skills ftl. Let me try to word it better. If my character hasn't competed GWEN yet, I can't acces the elite dungeon, however if I party with someone who had already completed the game, I can enter the dungeon and accept a quest in which this sentance in particular bothers me: "Hierophant Duncan seeks to harness the power of the recently defeated Great Destroyer'soul". So I'm able to fight against a enemy who harvest the power of destroyer, which I have yet to beat. ;(. I hope this is a better explanation.Jelmewnema 20:06, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes "Polymock Glowing Gaze" Bug[edit]

Hey there, just noticed that when you use Polymock Glowing Gaze and target is on fire, you lose 6 energy, instead of gain it. Al Sharif 08:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I wanted to let you know that this bug was fixed on September 13th. (I'd assume it was fixed sometime after your report, of course.) --Gaile User gaile 2.png

Yes Inner Fire[edit]

Inner Fire doesn't appear to do anything at the moment, and it certainly doesn't give the Destroyers 30HP per second as stated in the description. --NieA7 12:13, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Faction Blessings Bugs[edit]

  • The player can receive overlapping Boss Bounty, 10 kill bounty or Hunt Rampage bonus, making them useless.
  • The player can receive Boss Bounties when are no bosses left in the zone, making it useless.
  • The player can receive Boss Bounty, 10 kill bounty or Hunt Rampage bonus when are no mobs left in the zone, making them useless.
  • Blessings do not apply to all the players in the party. Having different blessings makes it hard to impossible to coordinate faction runs with other players.--Darksun 20:41, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
The boss bounty when there is no boss one is annoying, but blessings not applying to all party members is probably due to the potential for each member to take the bounty hunt after 1 kill each, so after 25 kills player 1 gets the bonuty but because player 2 took the bounty 1 kill after player one did, the bounty bonus for player 2 would occur after 26 kills for player 1, giving the whole party 2 bounty bonuses instead of one. The current system doesn't allow for that abuse because each player is individually given the bonus after 25 kills of their own. If the bounty blessing was given to the whole party when one player spoke to the shrine guy then it would be possible to give uniform bonuses without fear of abuse. Yes Necromancer Dwarven Armor[edit]

Good day again! I see you get bothered on this talk page with dozens of questions, so I hope this'll fit in (: It's a concrete issue though. The Dwarven Necromancer armor has a nice idea: each piece has a different crafting cost, different name and even quite a different look (although it is all crafted at the same guy, and still looks more or less like one coherent armor). I like the idea, as I love mixing armors- but the naming is problematic. You see, it's not possible to put it up for display in the Hall of Monuments ;_; So, I'd like to have some developer take a look at it (: Sidar 14:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

This is intended, and User:Emily Diehl has explained that on her talk page, more specifically in this section. I hope her answers can help you :) - anja talk 14:37, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Dwarven Faction Weaponsmith - Only One Bow[edit]

The Dwarven Faction weaponsmith, ie the one in the Central Transfer Chamber called Hulen Hairyback only sells one bow, the Maplewood Longbow. I believe he should be selling a bow for each type, Longbow, Shortbow, Hornbow, Flatbowand Recurve Bow like the other weaponsmiths for the Asura; Nojj, Ebon Vanguard; Jonathan Blunt and the Norn; Keti. I was expecting something like the Maplewood Longbow skin along with the Half Moon skin for short bow to go with the tradition of Tyrian skins. I'm not sure this is a bug - or if this is the place to report it - or if this was intended to be the way it was but it didn't seem to make sense for a faction NPC to not sell all bow types. I will put this comment on the page for Hulen Hairyback as well, assuming something isn't already there. Dancing Gnome 01:46, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a design decision. I have sent a note to the designers to inquire. I will put a check mark because I have referred it, but I may receive an answer that I will post here when I get it. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Also, unlike the Asura, Norn and Vanguard weaponsmiths, he doesn't craft any wands or focus items. -- Gordon Ecker 01:32, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Party Search - Repeated Entries[edit]

I don't know how it happened but the other day I saw someone in party search who managed to get their entry listed more than once. Here is a screen shot of what I am talking about;http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?image=partysearchabuseiq7.jpg This obviously has potential for abuse, as can be seen in the screen shot. Dancing Gnome 11:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

The same person has managed to do the same thing again in the Eye of the North (outpost), http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?image=artysearchabuse2bp2.jpg. It appears to have something to do with changing districts. It's a clear, deliberate and now repeated attempt to abuse the party search function to the detriment of other traders. Dancing Gnome 19:06, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
I found the same person AGAIN; http://img182.imageshack.us/my.php?image=abuseagainlz1.jpg, showing this problem is yet to be fixed and this person has clearly found some way to abuse the system. 58.110.139.72 03:53, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Death Nova Bugged[edit]

While i was doing GoP, i went as a Minion Bomber. and was Casting Death Nova on a enemy creature. i thought death nova could only be used on Ally's? Is this a bug or... The Warior Of Timi 17:00, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Did it do damage to you? or to the enemies? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 17:12, 17 September 2007
I could only cast it, don't know if it did damage. The Warior Of Timi 17:13, 17 September 2007 (UTC) (UTC)
When you try to cast an "allied" enchant on a foe, it will succeed and the enchant will be cast on you. It's clearly not a bug. Every enchant in the game works like this (except "target other ally" enchants that fail when you try to cast them on foes). Chriskang 14:17, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
