Hating the fact I sold two months before this was implemented and used supplies to try and get the minis from gifts because at that time the minis were the only thing ~~ random rage (On the plus side at least the can be added now, right?) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.209.230.91 (talk).

Way to go anet wasted my supplies buying royal gifts to find out i needed them for HOM now --DrugUser Drug Image-User Drug sig.png 01:17, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
That's what you get for playing guild wars. -Auron 01:19, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I haven't spent any of my 1000+ war supplies, way to go Anet. Also, if you want to fill your HoM, destroyer weapons are pretty close in price. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 01:44, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Please QQ more... There are repeatable quests, for any of you chars... so wheres the problem? Zaishen Coins are the same thing... --80.121.91.219 02:01, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
AND NOW I GET TO LAUGH AT YOU PEOPLE THAT WASTED YOUR SUPPLIES ON THE GIFTS! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........I saved ALL of my war supplies then used them on medals just for THIS!!!! :3 Haha, silly noobs trading your supplies for GIFTS! MUHAHHAHAHAHAHA...*CRIES*...MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.218.69.197 (talk).
I've been using mine as cons xD There's no point in getting oppressor weapons when destroyer weapons are cheaper and easier to get xD--168.122.167.226 02:44, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
As expected *rubs hands*! Thanks A-Net! Markus Clouser User Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 02:48, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah destroyer weapons work too. If you cant afford to put tormented in the HoM then your working on a budget (aka destroyer). If you just want it filled with 10 then destroyer. If you want all weapons possible in HoM then you can afford this set aswell so stop crying about how at worst you will fork out like 500k? max. Honestly, Oppressor > Destroyer, so im glad they put them in HoM. Justice 02:53, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, for players like myself we like to have EVERYTHING!!! Besides, from what I think now that Anet has updated the HoM (again) that we WILL get different rewards in GW2 based on the weapon sets in our HoM in GW1. Example, if you have the destroyer set then you only get the rewards from THAT set and you do not get the rewards from, lets say, the oppressor set (omg! he did not just say that! kill him!). I'm just saying what I think. :D I don't believe Anet would have updated the HoM and then we gain nothing in GW2 for it....I don't think Anet is THAT airheaded....lol....but to each his own...think what you but this is what I believe now. :D -- 72.218.69.197 02:55:00, 05 October 2010 (UTC)
You are incorrect. It was recently clarified that the HoM will utilize a reward point system; points earned by HoM achievements will be used toward purchasing rewards in GW2. There will not be specific rewards for specific achievements as you suggest. This is simply a new way of accruing more of those points. Arshay Duskbrow 03:05, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Duskbrow, post the link because I have NOT read shit about what you just said, lol. So, I'm going to assume that is just, she said he said, BS. Until it comes RIGHT from Anet, I don't believe it. Players suck thats why. Example...Beta...Key... Enough said. -- 72.218.69.197 03:07:41, 05 October 2010 (UTC)
"Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them." /Read, Duskbrow. -- 72.218.69.197 03:20:55, 05 October 2010 (UTC)
It's fine to doubt my words, but acting like an ass about it is unnecessary, especially when you're going to be proved wrong. Eric Flannum spoke on the subject at Gamescom, the summary of which can be read here, and Izzy more recently talked about HoM rewards in a Ten Ton Hammer interview here. Oh, and I have to say, throwing around my fictitious last name is really cute of you. Arshay Duskbrow 04:03, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
A bit disappointing that the weapons become "points" when my torment weapons costs way more than filling the HoM up with cheap and ugly destroyer/Oppressor weapons. --Venomoth 15:07, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
For all we know though, Tormented weapons could be worth more points than the others. Hopefully we will know the details before long, ANet keeps promising that a full HoM guide article is coming "very soon"... Arshay Duskbrow 04:00, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

one oversight in the update.[edit]

the Green weapons given out at the end of the Battle of Lion's Arch were exactly hard to obtain as the oppressor weapons, and both costed us 10 MoH. so Why the F*** d I get screwed if i chose the snakebites fang over the oppressor's Sword?! Arenanet you should check yourself... 84.229.205.106

perhaps because no green weapons were added to the HoM. This is for "special" weapon sets and not just some random greens. If anything they would consider stuff like Deldrimor and BMP but most would agree that those are quite alot easier/cheaper to obtain then the current sets. Justice 04:56, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
you Do relize that Arenanet is in fact saying in this update that you will get to display your weaps if you went by the chance to the RIGHT COLLECTOR?! i mea, yea yea they are rare special blah blah blah. but the WiK Green Weapons are attainable for 10 MoH and the Oppressor's are for... yep' 10 MEDALS OF HONOR!!!!!. so why do I have to get screwed if i got the 10 and chose to get a greenie??? MarioDX 10:13, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Because, like said before, those greens are not part of a set. There aren't even Spears or Scythes. Destroyers and Tormenteds are part of a set too. -- Arduin talk 10:59, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
it's bs though. I got alari's doubleblades and I honestly want support or a refund 66.183.242.205 02:40, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Who would regret getting alari's doubleblades? They ADDED to the HoM. They did NOT take something away. You got exactly what you "paid" for when you chose Alari's and you STILL have exactly that. Refund lol... Justice 00:06, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Why would anyone choose a green? Greens are for noobs. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 00:28, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Why would anyone want to spend less time and money for the same mods? Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 01:45, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Because then you'd be stuck with a terrible skin. It's not like there's anything else to spend all that money on, after the third or fourth everlasting tonic they get kinda boring. -Auron 02:43, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

So....[edit]

We have a set from Prophecies, a set from Nightfall & a set from Eye of the North. Hope they will add a set from factions aswell before Guild Wars 2 is out. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 05:57, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

well im hoping a new set will come out with the upcoming guildwarsbeyond stuff in factionsNaloj 07:07, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't this count as Prophecies and Eye of the North, since you need to have both games to get them? Can't complete WiK without doing the trial, which you need EN for, and you need to complete EN or the MOX quests for the Trial, and EN or Proph for the beginning WiK stuff (and EN or Wintersday quests for Gwen/Thackeray stuff). Really, this is more like a second EN set that demands at least Prophecies alongside it. -- Konig/talk 07:32, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
If you want to look at it technically than All weapons in the HoM are 'also' EotN, because the Hall is in fact, in the eye of the north. But I would like to see something from factions. Just to, You know, Top it off. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Imperial" weapons. Designed with traditional chinese culture in mind, and gotten the same way as the other stuff. Would be fantastic to have a Ceremonial Broadsword. Circa Qin dynasty. --Master BriarUser Briar Sig 2.jpg 07:46, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, Factions did kind of get the short straw as far as the WiK was concerned (though ofc Nightfall didn't get much, but at least they already have more high-end content and some HoM weapons). Maybe they'll add a little something there before too long as well. 86.177.153.50 09:00, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
"Factions did kind of get the short straw as far as the WiK was concerned" They mentioned in the blog post for this update that there will be a Canthan Guild Wars: Beyond event. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png 13:44, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Yup, Zodiac weapons don't have a full set, so they can't be added. So, either they complete the set, change the way they are acquired so they are not longer just random drops and make them the reward for Faction's Dungeons (they are one-level REALLY long dungeons, after all), or they add a new set around there. IT would be even better if it came with some content. I'd like to know how did they deal with the remianing Shiro'ken constructs and afflicted in Factions, since we learned in Nightfall that at least the Shiro'ken didn't disappear when Shiro died. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 15:24, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
According to Aidan in the Divine Path, they began to be hunted down after Shiro's death, possibly by the unnamed hero the PCs replace and the Monastery folk. What I want to know is what happened/is happening with the Temple of the Dredge (landmark) (and the rest of the dredge there), who replaced Togo, and what happened to the wardens/outcasts/oni after Urgoz/Kanaxai's deaths. -- Konig/talk 16:49, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

A pretty underwhelming update to be sure, but at least we get more weapons in the HoM. Not that I have any weapons in the HoM, or any to put there, but nvm... ;-) 86.177.153.50 08:58, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Kinda stupid that they now expect you to complete WiK 7+ times (or do Bounties for about 5 months) to get all the weapons... 145.89.205.185 11:03, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Anet is in a long-lasting grind-phase since they made EotN. Demonic Fahrir talk 11:05, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
There's only one good kind of grinding, and this ain't it. X ip 14:12, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Nothing is coming out until the Costume Brawl updates. Then we'll get the Derv updates, then maybe Paragon updates in 2012, and finally the new HoH map we were told we would get.
This is just a diversion tactic to give PvE'ers something to grind until Halloween. Just ignore it. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 14:55, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Seeing how you only need 11 weapons, you don't need to grind to get these weapons. Destroyer weapons are rather cheap and are probably the easiest to get. You technically don't need to grind anything, you want to in order to fill the HoM (exception being EN rep titles due to PvE skills, armors, cons, and weapons). -- Konig/talk 16:51, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

PvP has been broken ever since Izzy facerolled over all the programmers keyboards at Anet, he then got hungry (wow, what a suprise...) and left the mess to be cleaned up by other peop... OH WAIT, DISREGARD THAT, I FORGOT NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT BALANCE, LETS HAVE MORE SKINS pl0x. Way to priortize, to busy inplementing a RMT system in GW2.... 82.169.222.223 19:05, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

If your done kicking and screaming we will let you come back to the supper table. Justice 21:01, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Anet staff member#1- What about if we nerf (insert OP skill here)... Anet staff member#2- No, if we do that, half the players will complain, how about making (insert grinding title) easier to obtain?... Anet staff member#3- And listen to the complains of the players who did those the "hard way" (see Gimmick build)?, lets make this set of weapons good for the HoM, Im pretty sure the players will love to have a new set instead of the expensive ones or the ugly ones there is no way they can complain for something like that.... GWplayer#1- Anet screwed it again, I spent all the war supplies in gifts, i will have to grind more again--Batousai 03:41, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm sure they intentionally went out of there way just to hurt your feelings so you would whine and cry, because they love the sound of frustrated sorrow on the wiki. How dare their follow the same guideline for allowing displayable items in the HoM! I was expecting they would completely throw us a curveball and make it so any item with a "rare" (aka ugly but uncommon so the sheepish idiots will all fight for them, despite loathing their appearance) could be displayed, regardless of color. FleshAndFaith 05:51, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
If you've read the forums (and here) closely, you might have noticed that no one is actually complaining about the fact that Oppressor Weapons can be added to the HoM. Most people seem to like that. I think it's mostly people complaining that they have time to add shit like this, but not update skills, add content, etc. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 15:16, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Except that people are complaining about not being able to add the Green WiK items, which would completely change the item types allowed in HoM. To quote a random person above, "Boo hoo, I got a fully modded green item and it has a totally sweet skin, but its not fair that I chose this one because now they are expanding the lamest section of the HoM." Also, maybe you guys should whine even harder when they don't just jump right in to GW Beyond events. It's sooooo lame that they have to prepare each GWB update and make sure it works before they implement it. Pffft. FleshAndFaith 16:28, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Are you implying they make sure updates work before implementing them? User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 16:49, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes, actually. Of course, every game of this size is going to have a few bugs and some unexplainable behavior here and there, but they do test the patches and make sure they work for the most part. But again, they can't catch every single bug before they release it, simply because they lack the man power. FleshAndFaith 16:58, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
You're silly. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 17:09, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Silly but true. 99% of games have bugs upon releasing. Usually they are quite small, because the quite large ones get caught during alpha and beta testing. FleshAndFaith 17:16, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

No[edit]

Oppressor weapons definitely are not the equivalent of a destroyer or tormented weapon. The only thing that might have made it seem this way is the huge amount of time it took for the entire War to be released to the server. The requisite quests for the final battle are easy. So less than a day or maybe two of trudging through the requisite quests, and then figuring out one final battle, which is difficult but not impossible.

It's great that we have another set (maybe it isn't) but what on earth are they thinking if that is the rationale? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 3.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 01:00, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

If you really want to spend a couple hours on 11 different characters then sure oppressor weapons are easy. If not then your probably paying at minimum 50k (warsupplies at 200g each). Destroyer weapons are a fraction of that. Id wrather pay 60k(spear i found in kamadan) a weapon then trudge through the same short chapter 11 times. I can barely fill EoTN books once a couple weeks lol. Justice 06:06, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
It's actually our fault. Well, those of us who took the survey's fault. When we answered that we weren't impressed with the rewards from the WiK, they assumed that we wanted more usefulness out of the Oppressor's Weapons, so TA-DA! Now we can add them to the HoM. So now, not only were they unworthy of our time and effort, but they're also a grindfest for those obsessed with filling their HoMs.
It's a cruel irony, really. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 14:10, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
