Brief History of the Guild

Heroic Dragons was formed on October 19th 2007 by Juriaan Cuthalion, who is also the leader of the guild still. He founded the guild after he and his good in-game friend Python Elite decided to start a guild together. Due to the amount of activity from both players, Juriaan Cuthalion would create the guild and be the Leader, where Python Elite would be Co-Leader. Before the end of the weekend the guild was at 15 members and at October 24th HERO rejoined the Kurzick Alliance he left as a member to create HERO.
After being in the alliance for about 2.5 months, the Heroic Dragons collectively decided to leave and create their own alliance. On January 7th 2008 the new alliance was formed and within 4 days the alliance consisted of 8 guilds. Over time changes in the alliance have occurred and currently the alliance consists of 7 guilds.
In the first week of August 2008 a huge change in the alliance occurred which led to splitting the alliance in the old Heroic Dragons alliance and a new alliance led by The Doyen Council. Also some of our members left who joined up together in the new guild Against Da Grain, led by Passifis The Vile. Due to the loss of alliance guilds and members HERO is recruiting both members and guilds to have the alliance grow again.
When starting November 2008, the Heroic Dragons alliance is in good shape and has taken in some very friendly guilds and players, since the split in the alliance occurred, early August. Although there has been tried to stay on a friendly position towards the The Doyen Council alliance meanwhile, open hostility towards the Heroic Dragons guild and alliance, but especially towards the leader (mostly personal attacks upon the Heroic Dragons leader's, deliberately trying to discredit him), made the Heroic Dragons alliance to break all bonds with the The Doyen Council. This last has pained lots of people, since upon leaving the The Doyen Council claimed to want all friendships to stay intact and now they have openly proclaimed they never wanted to behave so accordingly. The Heroic Dragons alliance has moved on to more friendly territory and looks into the future with good hopes, especially now they have come into their second year of existence.

Guild Ideology

The foremost thing valued in the Heroic Dragons guild is: "Fun in the game is the most important!" Everyone in the guild should therefor treat everyone else with the proper respect. Rascism, discrimination, offending, insults and excessive cursing/swearing (in the extent of offending others by abusive language) are not tolerated within the guild. If you like to swear or curse when things go wrong in-game, keep it private or just don't put it on chat. It will make sure others can keep pleasure in the game.

Guild Officers & Promotion Policy

The guild has several officers. Due to changes within the guild, the amount of officers (and therefor also who are officers) can change at any given time. Feel free to contact them if you have questions about the guild or want to join.

  • Bl Mike
  • Channeler Of Soulss
  • Kashka Manna
  • Motoko Fei
  • Munker One Eye
  • Punjabi Boy
  • Python Elite

The guild strives to keep 1 officer for every 5 regular members. Due to being a PvE-based guild 1 officer for 5 members is considered sufficient enough to have enough help for members at all times. Especially since members will often be able to help each other as well. Since Python Elite is co-leader (and considered fellow-founder) he is not counted in the officer amount. In the case a Head Officer is appointed, the Head Officer is not counted in the officer amount either when it comes to determining when the next officer spot opens up. People are also not promoted because they demand it, but based upon how they act and behave in the guild/alliance. So if you are helpful, friendly & active (2-week activity requirement for officers before being demoted due to inactivity), then you will be considered to become an officer the next time an officer position opens up (no guarantee, due to more people qualifying for officer at the same time).

Guild Events and Activities

The guild participates in every aspect of the game. Depending on how many members and what the different members do, we have both PvE (mainly), Normal Mode and Hard Mode, and all aspects of PvP, including Guild Scrimmages, Alliance Battles, Zaishen Challenge and Zaishen Elite (Balthazar faction Farming), Random Arenas, Team Arenas, Hero's Ascent and Guild versus Guild. Due to the current amount of members the PvP part is lacking somewhat, especially concerning GvG, HA and TA. People interested in those aspects of the game are certainly welcome, so we can actively participate in those aspects of the game again.
In the guild and alliance non-official events are organised as well. We have had a PvP tournament (through Guild Scrimmages) about every month so far. Tournaments within the guild/alliance are therefor organised regularly and everyone is welcome to organise a challenge and/or tournament whenever they want.
There is also a 1v1 Ladder Competition present in the Heroic Dragons alliance. The rating calculations are done with the ELO Rating System which is also used for the Guild Ladder (GvG) and the Ladder used for the ratings obtained from participating in Hero Battles. All info about the Heroic Dragons 1v1 Ladder Competition can be found on the guild's forums and website and everyone is welcome to participate, although when not in the alliance it might be difficult to participate in 1v1 scrimmages counting towards the ladder regularly.
When there are any PvE-events, the guild is certainly trying to participate, but everyone in the guild can (of course) decide for themselves and no event is mandatory in any way.
The guild is PvE-based, but will participate in every game aspect, so also in every aspect of PvP. Still, we will profile ourselves as a PvE(-based) guild, which will welcome everyone. We will try to do things together whenever anyone wants to do so, without forcing anyone.

Recruitment

HERO is actively recruiting players who want to be in a guild like this. To make the guild more active there is a 4-week activity requirement, but if you know you go on a holiday or will be cut off from the Internet or such, just tell the leader personally or through the forums or e-mail and kicking will not occur due to inactivity. To join, just post on our forums, fill out the "Join Guild"-form on the website or contact the leader or any of the officers to receive an invite to the guild. HERO is also looking for new guilds to add to the alliance. If you are the leader of a guild who wants to be in the same alliance as a guild like this, please post on our forums, fill out the "Join Alliance"-form on the website or contact the leader to receive an invite to the alliance.

Guild Rules

  • The leader has the final word (since his decisions are made with his best judgement in favor of the guild)
  • Rascism, discrimination, insults, name calling, cheating, scamming & offending people are NOT allowed
  • Treat others with the proper respect, as players, but certainly as human beings
  • Beware that there are minors around, so behave accordingly
  • No spamming
  • No begging
  • Ask only once and maybe a second time somewhat later
  • No response doesn't mean people don't want to help, they are either busy or can't help out
  • Don't keep on asking if no one can help you, since it will only annoy others with the chat spam
  • Helping others out is not mandatory, but is valued, especially when it comes to officer selection
  • When helping others, please have your principles towards determining priorities
  • Give Guild Members priority over non-Guild Members
  • Give Quest/Mission help priority over Farming help
  • Be online at least once each 4 weeks (2 weeks for Officers)
  • If known in advance you can't live up to the 4-week activity requirement, tell either the Leader or Officers

These Guild Rules are more to be seen as guidelines than rules which need to be followed by the letter. Beware that the extent of deviating from the rules can result in greatly diminishing your chances of promotion and/or even can lead to getting kicked from the guild (like rascist remarks will result in kicking without warning). We are pretty laid back and are in existence for the fun of the game, so everything has to be in order to make sure that EVERYONE can enjoy their game experience!

Policy for Kicking Members

The guild and alliance are considered a fun environment and kicking will not be done eagerly. People just taking away a member slot by being offline for a seriously long time prevent the guild to grow eventually and give the impression of an inactive guild to new members, so they might leave due to others being inactive. Those players will be removed from the guild eventually, unless the leader or any officers have been notified in any way, why or that the offline player is offline. People who misbehave and therefor offend others will be warned and kicked if no behavioural improvement is noticed. This to prevent the guild and alliance to lose its friendly and helpful appearance and to create a fun environment for everyone around. We always strive to kick no players at all, but sometimes the situation warrants that particular course of action.
