Help its about loading.

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

Ok when i play guild wars nightfall. I just got it today. Ok when i play it i just got past the water part in the begging. Then i get to a wooden door. It starts to load. Does it just take long because i have aol. Or does it take forever to load for everbody.

Please read the HUGE writing up the top, it's even in bold for you:
This page is for questions about using the Guild Wars Wiki.
Please do not ask questions about Guild Wars.

But to answer your question, every time you go through an instance for the first time, it will take a long time to load. To get past this, open up Run... on your computer, and, in speech marks, type in the path to Gw.exe, followed by -image. Try to do this overnight, because this will take a long time. What it does is download all available information about the game, so when you load an instance you haven't been in before, you don't have to download all the relevant files, they're already there. After it's done downloading, it will close, and you will have to restart Guild Wars normally. For most computers the path you have to type in will be "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image, or for Windows Vista users "C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image would be used instead, but if you're using another operating system or installed it to another directory you'll have to find the path yourself. --Santax (talk · contribs) 07:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
The simpler answer would be that the loading time only happens the first time you arrive at a location. Once those files have been loaded, repeated visits load much faster. -- ab.er.rant sig 06:38, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

teloports in prophets path

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

How do u use he telports in prophets path so you can reach other places?

This is a wiki question article, not meant for in game questions. And I think it's alot easier to find someone in game to show you the mechanic than explaining it in text. (moved to correct article) - anja talk (contribs) 16:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Still no reason not to answer if you aren't going to point them in the right direction on the wiki. For the original poster: You should ask questions on talk pages of articles (like Talk:Prophet's Path for example which is a talk page of Prophet's Path), check fan forums, or even ask in game normally. I recommend using the search function as well but that won't always yield your desired results. It's also a good idea to leave your signature so others can contact you and discuss more on your talk page. But to answer your question more precisely, stand in the teleport field area and watch the teleport triggers from there. They will glow in the order you need to activate them. Activate them in that order (you get 3 tries) and the teleport works. Don't, and it won't. Hope that helped. Any other questions or comments, feel free to ask on my talk page or others as I said above. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 17:13, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

If you fail to activate them in the correct order after three tries, you can reset the teleporter by standing on the platform again. -- Gordon Ecker 06:02, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Tyrian Armor

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

Where can I find Tyrian Armor in Prophosies?206.248.211.102 18:51, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

At any crafter, and those are listed here. Tyrian max armor is craftable in Droknar's Forge.- anja talk (contribs) 18:56, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
If you're referring to the Tyrian art, you can get that armour in Prophecies, but it's under a different name. The Prophecies names of the armours are in brackets on this page. --Santax (talk · contribs) 07:05, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Level Up ?

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

I'm stuck on level 20, I should be on level 25, every time I should turn level 21...level 20 starts over ? Please Help. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.0.5.119 . (00:45, 28 June 2007)

You shouldn't be on level 25 - Guild Wars has a cap at level 20, any experience gained past then just goes towards extra skill points. So, congrats, you've reached the max level, and most of the game is geared towards level 20 content. AT(talk | contribs) 00:45, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Also, don't fret if you think that reaching level 20 is a bad thing. There is a lot to still accomplish and the majority of all the chapters are geared toward level 20. Maxing out your attribute points, obtaining maximum armor levels (or even multiple sets of armor that may have different functions or abilities), areas to explore, quests/missions to complete, weapons to obtain, and most importantly every time you "level up" now you get 1 skill point which can be used (with some money) to purchase new skills from skill trainers. Don't forget to sign your comments when posting. :) --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 11:41, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

dervishes anti-build

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

Argh i cant seem to kill dervishes- their hp matches warriors they have reletively high mana and heal themselves, not to mention secondaries! how do i kill them or find a weakness in the 8 skills all dervishes seem to use? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.134.98.58 .

Enchantment removal is always good against Dervishes ;) poke | talk 23:25, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Corrupt Enchantment, Dazed condition, Spiteful Spirit (they attack up to three times per swing) along with Reckless Haste, Insidious Parasite, Price of Failure. Really, any anti-melee setup should stop them fairly easily. They may have good energy regen, but they don't have unlimited energy or huge energy pools. If enchantments are the problem, look for anti-cast/anti-enchantment solutions. If your problem is their damage before you manage to kill them, consider neutralizing that aspect with Blind or Weakness. Kami No Kei 05:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
My preferred 3 things for taking out dervishes (there are plenty more but these are my most straight forward) are cripple (you can kite them then), blindness (they can't hit you then), or daze (you can interrupt all their spells). Just my preferences though. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 11:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Tormentors armor

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

which armor do you put insig into? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:F O R T .

If you're asking about Tormentor's Insignia, you can put it in whatever piece of armor you want. Just be aware that certain locations get hit more often, so if you go full Tormentor's, then be careful when going against foes known to use holy damage like Monks and Dervishes. -- ab.er.rant sig 02:43, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Any Necromancer armor, excluding max collector armor and festival hats. -- Gordon Ecker 06:02, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

elite profane at lvl 3?

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

possible? cause im trying --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:F O R T .

Yes, it is possible. Many people have themself rushed at level 1 from Ascalon to Beacon's Perch and then to Droknar's Forge. Then they look for a rusher to Marhan's Grotto to get an elite armor with level 1. poke | talk 11:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

what does 15k tormentor armor mean

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

theres 1.5k armor the theres 15k tormentors??? http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=345458 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:F O R T .

Yes. Prior to the armor update where the bonus got separated from the armor art, tormentor's armor had the same bonuses as Tormentor's Insignia. The art for Tormentor's armor has been renamed to Profane armor. 15k Tormentor is what is now Elite Profane.
And please try to understand the difference between a game question and a wiki question and ask them on the appropriate help page. Thanks. -- ab.er.rant sig 05:47, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

100% Map completion Question

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question

So players that transfer from Prophecies to Cantha or Elona can never get 100% fo those 2 maps respectively?

Also, do the arenas in Tyria that I have missed out on playing in (such as the Ascalon one or Shiverpeaks) count towards the map? Can I ever go back at all? How do I get all these missed portions of the map?

You can definitely get Grand Master Cartographer of not your own campaign. If you would have everything cartographed it would be a lot more that 100%. And there is no possibility to get to the old Arenas in Prophecies. poke | talk 22:48, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
See Cartographer for more info. -- Gem (gem / talk) 22:52, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
