ok i bought prophacies ahwile ago nad then my dad bought he rest recently but he added them under the worng email... i w as wandering is there was a way for me to add my prophacies to all his games without like my charecters beinmg deleted or somthing... ty 74.245.22.247 23:45, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, accounts can't be merged. Your only options are to buy prophecies again and add the access key in the other account, and start all Prophecies characters from scratch, or buy the other games besides Prophecies again and add them to the Prophecies account. - It could be a multitude of problems, ranging from no internet connection, a problem with ANet's servers, or just it's actually still loading. It's taken me five minutes+ to load a zone before, and a lot longer for the client to launch. Calor - talk 00:39, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
inappropriate name , then name change , then suspended.[edit]
Hi people, i know i will probably get shot down in flames but, have a read anyway. I bought the game made an account Rusty Kuntz (pronounced Koontz; google it,he was a major player) anyhow i can understand that sounds like a suspect name, so i get suspended for inappropriate name for 3 days. Now i argued the name and explained its origin, but fell on deaf ears, so i waited my suspension whereby on logging in i changed my name to Sir Spension, which is a play on words and i thought was amusing. Now heres the childish bit by arena net, they suspended me again for inappropriate name. I made a ticket, got one reply that it was being escalated to a senior guy, and thats it, nothing, no more replys one way or another. In my opinion i think who ever banned me for a name like that seriously needs to see a Doctor.
Thanks for reading and dont choke on your coffee laughing

- They screwed you good, mate. I honestly don't know what to do when Anet doesn't answer.reanor 00:18, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- That is yet another example of problematic support staff. Aside from continuing to bug support, maybe you can bug Anet staff here about this too. The first suspension is acceptable, but the second suspension is just plain silly. -- ab.er.rant 00:58, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- I have to admit that's a brilliant stroke of thinking with the second name, on your part. But ANet player support has been known to be..flawed, to say the least. You're apparently taking this whole hiatus well, so your best option would be to calmly explain the situation to an ArenaNet employee on this wiki. Good luck, Calor - talk 02:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey well, i registered in this wiki, cos at least people reply which is more than i can say for the support staff on my ticket, and thanks for that: I have no intention of pursueing this with arenanet as it is just a complete waste of time, i thought i would highlight the attitude that is being displayed There isnt any underlying faults to my suspension on my part it is as it is, i can even supply webshots in jpg format of the ticket page if anyone is interested. I will stay calm as i always am, rudeness is not my thing, i am actualy an admin on a bf1942 server, <snipped away email address> and my age is realy mature at 50 but if there are arenanet staff here who are interested and find my suspension deplorable you are welcome to say so or indeed contact me. Thanks for the ears Martyn Sir Spended 10:05, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

A small update concerning my name change, if i'm allowed to put it here, my original name was rusty as you know, and i had to change it (now sir spended), but all my armour/equipment is still customized to rusty, will this have any effect on my character or equipment ?? Martyn Sir Spended 00:29, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that what you ask is common knowledge here. Perhaps you could direct your question to one of the fan forums or back to support? I'm guessing if you can still wear the armour and can take it off *and* put it back on you aren't going to have any trouble with the wrong name on the customization. --Aspectacle 03:37, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, you can't. Anet knows, and don't want to fix it as most people affected have had an intentional bad name. An extra penalty, if you like. Backsword 06:56, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Same game, Multiple Keys on one Account[edit]
Let's say I have Prophecies. Then I decided to buy GW: GotY edition from a physical store (not the in-game store). My question is this: If I get the GotY edition, will I be able add it to my account? If I can, will I be get additional character slots as well as the in-game weapons? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.18.163.231 .
- I believe that you will be able to add it to your account and get the weapons, but will not get any additional character slots. You can also get the same weapons from the in-game store for ~$5. -- Gordon Ecker 01:01, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Still depends on your complete pc setup, a slow processor with a fast graphic card is realy no better than a fast processor with a bad graphic card. What do you already have as a setup, then it would be easier to understand your problem, which would include your internet speed plus are there any programs running while you play. Sir Spended 01:21, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds more like a memory limit to me; the only reason for it to take time is the need to swap with virtmem. Try making sure you run as few things as possible in the background. Backsword 06:58, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
GW vs Collector[edit]
Hi, I bought prophecie 2 years ago and since i've add faction, nightfall and GW:en wich gave me a total of 8 characters slot. Now i would know if i can add a collector edition key to my account and get 2 or 4 more slots at the same times. Is it possible or that will do nothing? Thanx --08:21, 23 November 2007 (UTC) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:209.5.96.146 .
- You won't get extra slots. The collector's key just takes precedence, iirc, and your characters will get that glowy aura thingy on their hands when they dance. -- ab.er.rant 08:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Note that you can buy extra character slots in the ingame store. Backsword 08:30, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
baned[edit]
- → moved from Help:Ask a wiki question
why is Tommy Commado been baned as i have not done anything to break the rules of guild wars or said any thing to offend people playing the day i got baned i was running to toa and attempted run to drocks looking for max ritulast armour and playing with my frend in my guild who has also only been let back on from him being banded
- First of all, the wiki isn't a place to find out about why you've been banned. The most you can do is contact support via the official site, http://www.guildwars.com/support. Also, Droknar's Forge or any other place in Prophecies won't have Ritualist armour, they are only in Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. -- br12 • (talk) • 16:48, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

- Perhaps my previous response was unclear... you do not need a trial code to buy Guild Wars. You can buy the game and have a new account created when you buy from the PlayNC store. -- ab.er.rant 05:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
It says,"Warning: Guild Wars® serial codes purchased here can only upgrade existing accounts associated with this PlayNC master account or create new accounts. If you wish to upgrade an unassociated Guild Wars® game account, you must purchase the serial code from the in-game store or buy a boxed edition." So i guess i need a trial code to visit the in-game store thanks
- I think you can buy the game from the NC website, they will just send you a code. You won't need to use the in game store because that store isn't in game. Once you have bought the first game you can buy the others from the in game store. Anon
yes,i'll get a code but i never have an account associated with PlayNC master account . Do you mean that using the code i can creat a GW account? thanks heartfully
!!!!"If you wish to upgrade an unassociated Guild Wars® game account, you must purchase the serial code from the in-game store or buy a boxed edition."

It is considered to be allowed to do so .Some one maybe get the dear GW in this way . I do not konw .I 'd like to believe it . Yes,when i get a trial code ,I can enter the game, and click to enter the in game store.

I now got a code but...still can not put it into my ncaccount horrible !
- I think you are making this far too complicated than you need to be. Lets do this step by step:
Buy Guild Wars and get an access key- Download or install the Guild Wars client.
- Start Guild Wars and let it update itself.
- On the log-in screen, click Create Account or Add Access Key
- Click Create a new Guild Wars account
- Enter your access key - and away you go!
- That way, you are using your new key to make a new account. :) Biscuits 13:08, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Removing account keys[edit]

I was wondering if there was any way of removing a key off an account because i was tryin to get all collectors on my account

- It should already be active on your account if you have the Platinum version. To reach it, you have to take a quest from Lion's Arch. Search for Len Caldoron and he will give you the access quest. - anja 11:58, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
I have tried that but he will not tell me anything I'm a level 20 is there anything else I need to do?--82.0.56.7 12:10, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- That is all you need to do, so it could be that you only have Prophecies, not the Platinum edition. I didn't get the Platinum so don't know if it came with one to two keys. If there was a Prophecies, and a GW:EN access key in the box, you need to add the GW:EN key to your account to get it to work. You can check which products are active by:
- Logging in
- Click
Edit Account
- Tick
Manage Access Keys
- Click
Next
- If the top list does not contain
Guild Wars Eye of the North
then you do not have it activated. If you have done all of this and Len Caldoron will still not give you the quest, you will have to contact support. Biscuits 12:38, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Can I have multiple accounts of the same GW game on the same computer? My son got into trouble a couple of times on my account so I want to get him his own. How do I go about doing this? Thanx.--67.10.160.68 05:15, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, you can. All the information about the account is stored on the ArenaNet servers, not on your computer. It loads your characters live based on the log-in you use. So you just need to get your son a new access key and click the "Create Account or Add Access Key" link from the log-in screen (make sure you chose to create a new account). Then you can both play on the same computer, just by logging in with your different accounts. Incidentally, you can play with your account on any computer with Guild Wars installed. Sharing Accounts[edit]
Quick question. My brother and I have shared a GW account for just over a year now. He did the PvE thing, I did the PvP thing. I'm getting a computer of my own soon. Are there any rules against sharing one account on two computers? And would we both be able to be logged in on the same account at once (probably not, just thought I'd ask)? Thanks for your time. --71.229.204.25 02:21, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

- As far as I know, GW is not being distributed by PlayNC in China (someone mentioned the name, "The 9" or something, can't remember) so yea, I would expect that you cannot buy directly from PlayNC from within China. I don't claim to be correct, but I'm guessing that you could try and get a copy of GW from outside China (maybe even just one of the campaigns). That would of course mean that you won't be in the same network as players playing China's version of GW. -- ab.er.rant 18:11, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

But in the begin it wasn't trial.
- The trial content is the same as the normal game content, as far as I know. The trial key lasts 14 hours of gameplay time. I'm assuming you played X<14 hours on day one, and the next day you played the remaining amount of hours, and so the 14 hour key expired. And GW:F wouldn't be sold for $20 American, but maybe a trial key would. Calor — talk 17:03, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

- Can you still log-in? If you can, log-in and click the Edit Account button. Next select Manage Access Keys and then click the Next button. What does it say in the top section, the "Your account is authorized to play the following Guild Wars releases:" part? --Kakarot 00:45, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe you were the victim of a chargeback scam. Have you asked support why the account was closed? -- Gordon Ecker 04:27, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Account wasn't closed because it's have Nightfall, in Acces Keys I've got Factions Trial.
- Then what was sold to you was not Factions, just a trial run of it. 18:35, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Where do i Get the trial account serial key?[edit]
When i go to the support it say i should already have the serial code but i don't. It really annoys me since i cant get any form of serial key to create a trial account. I am really confused because i can't create a trial account please help!
Main Menu. You will see the offer in the right hand corner. Follow instuctions, and eventually you should be able to get a GWEN Trial Key. However, if you do not own a previous game (Prop/Fac/NF), you will be unable to enter regardless. Hope that helps. --Readem 06:48, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

- Probably not. Contact Support and see what they can do, although I'm betting you are too late. They make more money this way. ;-) Biscuits 10:09, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Merging Guild Wars and PlayNC Accounts[edit]
I have a Guild Wars account that is tied to my email address, and I have a PlayNC account (for Dungeon Runners). Can I merge both under the PlayNC account? If not, that would be nice to have. --Vedreus Aardimus 13:19, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- i don't think so you could probably find it just going through plaync. if there isn't it would be nice to have.--話す priestess donut 寄付21:00, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- If I recall, there is something about linking your Guild Wars account to a PlayNC master account when you try to enter the store for the first time. It was a long time ago though and I don't remember the details. Biscuits 22:31, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I know this is kinda old, but I think I found what you were referring to:
- Guild Wars Account Integration into PlayNC Account Management
- ... When a purchase is made through the Guild Wars In-Game Store, you are required to integrate your Guild Wars game account into the PlayNC Account Management system. You can either create a new PlayNC master account name and password or you can link it to your existing PlayNC master account to make a purchase. After doing so, all administrative options such as changing your game account password, would then be managed from your PlayNC master account...
- I haven't tried it myself, but I think this is the way to go about it. It would be nice to have that option outside of the in-game store, though. → BROWNSPANK 06:37, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Retrieving data archive[edit]
25months 3000hrs gone i have to download every town again after a "retrieving data archive" is there anything that can be done?206.18.168.16 19:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- No account data is stored on your computer. All that you've lost are the game files, so just re-download your GW.dat and everything will be fine. You won't have lost your characters. — kyrasantae 19:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- ^ that. It'll just be twenty minutes of downloading GW.dat and a minute or so every time you enter a new area for a while. --71.229.204.25 19:55, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

lost account[edit]
i bought guild wars game of the year edition last year at christmas and my computer froze and i didn't really get to play it although i did install it into my computer. i never wrote down my account or my password because i thought the access key card would reinstall it and i would still be able to play. is there any way i can find out my account number? sadly i don't know which email i used although i can guess which one it was probably.

- Try guessing the email first. Once you have that, you can probably get your password from support.-- br12 • (talk) • 23:05, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Transfering a character[edit]
Hello,
We would like to purchase a second Prophesies game for our second computer we just built, and be able to use the same characters from the first Prophesies game. Is it possible to transfer the characters to the new account, so that we can use the characters we already created to play together.
Thanks,
Lorin, David, and Andrew.
- Sorry, but this is not possible. Characters are an integral part of the account. You can use the same account on any number of coputers, as long as only one is used at once, but I guess that's not what you're after. Backsword 18:28, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Changing account E-Mail-address?[edit]
I recently changed my E-mail-address, and now I want to know whether it is possible to change my account-E-mail-address in GW and how to do it if possible --Aquila Noctis 13:14, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know, but contact support. Don't think it is possible RT | Talk - A joyous wintersday to all 13:24, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, there's nothing in the FAQ, but I'll have a try with direct contact later. They helped me before... But I too guess that it is imposible, to prevent account stealing etc. You can change the address of your PlayNC-account, though... --Aquila Noctis 13:39, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Acess keys[edit]
I have installed Nightfall on my computer. For christmas, i got factions, prophicies, and EotN. Do I need to install any of those before i add the acess keys, or can i just add the acess keys to my nightfall account?
- You can just add the access keys to your account. All the games run from the same installation, which automatically stays up to date, so there is no need to install anything extra. Also see the Access key article. Biscuits 17:48, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
EotN access code[edit]
I got Eye of the North, and why don't i have an access code? You are supposed to have 5 sections, but on my card, I only have 3. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.121.161.86 .
- Why supposed to have 5? What "sections" are you referring to? Of the three, the first would be your access key, the other two are trial keys. -- ab.er.rant 07:06, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- I guess he means that, instead of a key with the format
xxxx-yyyy-zzzz-wwww-vvvv
, he got one with something likexxxx-yyyy-zzzz
. In any case, if you bought the game on a retail store, and you are sure you are looking to the right code card (here they come inscribed inside a black card, just need to open), you may want to ask to the store where you bought it for a product change (it may have been wrongly printed).--Fighterdoken 07:14, 26 December 2007 (UTC)- Ah I see, good point. I thought he was referring to how many codes he has on his card. Apologies -- ab.er.rant 07:20, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- The Eye of the North access code card I got looks like a Norn Shield. -- Gordon Ecker 08:00, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Over here in Germany, you just get a little plastic card glued onto a plastic sheet, and the ode's on the backside of that card. And I have 5 sections... maybe you didn't uncover the complete code? --Aquila Noctis 10:34, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Charecter Slots[edit]
I got all three capmpeigns...and each 1 gave me 2 more slots. If i get EotN..does it give me 2 more slots even tho its not a campeign?
- You get no extra slots with Eye of the North. Try reading the article about it for more info. -- br12 • (talk) • 18:12, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

moving characters from one account to another[edit]
if a person has been playing on one account, and they have recently purchased an account, is it possible to move a character from one account to another?
- first off buying accounts are against the ULA second no you can not transfer characters from one account to another.-話す priestess donut 寄付00:58, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, buying an account from another user is against EULA, but buying a whole new account is not ;) And no, as priestess said, it is not possible to transfer characters. - anja 15:08, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
