Talk:Diessa Lowlands
Monsters[edit]
I just vanquished this place yesterday and I did not see any Stone Elementals nor did I see any Hydras. Unless they appear sometimes? *shrugs* Can someone confirm that there are some, cause I didn't come across any of them. Zemmy»talk 12:45, 13 May 2007 (EDT)
- hmmmm I have definitely seen some hydras in the ascolon foothills to the north west but not sure ive seen them in the Diessa Lowlands. I think I may have seen some stone elementals but not 100% sure, oh well can always be checked out :) --File:User Wacked 1 Link Sprite.gif Wacked 1 12:55, 13 May 2007 (EDT)
- Well, I doubt I'll be there again anytime soon. Oh god, a bad place to vanquish. Hydras I'm 99% sure I didn't see any in diessa. I mean, could anybody miss a Hydra? stone Elementals... I didn't see any, but then sometimes I didn't see any Boulder elementals with some of the stone fury groups, so maybe the stone elementals creeped in one or two groups without me noticing. -- Zemmy»talk 13:15, 13 May 2007 (EDT)
Changed minumum number of foes to vanquish to 361, what I just got. -- Nox Coma 09:54, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I just vanquished this place, and i saw at least 10 Hydras, and they all seemed to be heading towards Dragon's Gullet, they all got out of range though and when it came time to finishing i never killed a single Hydra.. so they are there, but you do not have to kill them.Sloh Em Oshun 01:36, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- The very first mob I encountered after zoning in from Ascalon Foothills contained 2 hydras... so sometimes you do have to kill them. -- Hong 14:01, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Just seen hydras.[edit]
They were near Foothils portal and in that hole you encounter when going to Yak's from Grendich. Hydras confirmed, but seems they don't spawn always. Murk Raven 14:03, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
ya these things start from over that dirrection and go past the entrance to grendich courthouse. Probably the same hyrdas the person encountered in the subsection (border crossing hyrdas). Perhaps they start from foothills and walk to flame temple corridor? if not they have one hell of a big patrol route, like those two forgotten enchanted bosses in perdition rock.--Justice 21:25, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Border-crossing monsters?[edit]
I've seen hydras too, on my hard-mode run. One group of 3 ambushed me from behind when coming from the Foothills portal, the other group were responsible for my spending nearly an hour searching for the last enemies to complete the area. They were near the resurrection shrine on the island in the tar, near the portal to Flame Temple Corredor. Strangely, they patrolled out through that exit before I could get to them. Luckily I didn't follow, and was awarded the vanquish after they disappeared. I've never seen that before. Since I came from Yak's via Foothills, and had cleared Foothills on a previous run, I actually wondered if they had followed me from that area... - StelardActek 09:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've had the same thing happen to me, only it wasn't a Hydra but an allied Devona, and it wasn't here but in Yak's Bend. 145.94.74.23 10:11, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Higher Level Charrs During Quest?[edit]
I am wondering if it would be wise to note that the Charrs are at a higher level during the quest Then and Now, Here and There (and I am NOT in Hard Mode)? JupiterStarWarrior 04:54, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think its because its a EOTN quest..., so a note would be ok. Dominator Matrix 05:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. I went ahead and made that note. JupiterStarWarrior 03:36, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Signposts[edit]
Throughout the Ascalon Region - Diessa Lowlands included - there are signposts which have the Prophecies campaign depicted on them. I wasn't particularly sure of where to post this, so I thought I would just say it here. The scripture on those maps is not english, but Phoenician. I recognized the lettering and read it. It is ancient Phoenician, each grouping of the letters naming the respective areasof the campaign. Just thought it was an interesting trivial fact. - Ara Ara 19:41, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- I would like to see them, where in Diessa Lowlands are they? -- C4K3 Talk 20:33, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Vanquishing Bug?[edit]
I just Vanquished this area and at the end had a hard time finding any more enemies. finally went up to the flame temple corridor gate and got a few devourer pop-ups and still... nothing happened. then about 2 minutes later while my whole party was still searching for enemies, big ol' VANQUISHED helm appears in the middle of the screen... without killing anything. My only guess is that maybe a minnion somewhere finally found someone and killed them but I find this highly unlikely. Has anyone else had this happen? -(not sure what to sign as I haven't made too many posts on the gww.... so sorry. but ingame name is K R A K) 23:00, 18 August 2009 (EST)
- Could have been patrolling monsters. Other people on here have said that, sometimes hydras or something will come out of a portal and walk around for a while, and will eventually go through another somewhere. When that happens, if those were the last enemies to be killed, you'll get vanquisher. So my guess goes to that happened to you. personn5 03:44, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Vanqing[edit]
362 foes, 1hr:50min, h/h(2 henchies from yaks), vanq/maping. I used a summoning stone and was blessed with a Smoke Phantom making it basically a 7-8 man team (8man cause this summon is worth more then any single henchmen I coulda picked up in yaks otherwise). Mobs are pretty balanced here but the zone certainly leans more towards the casters. Do NOT underestimate what the charr physicals can do though. Basic tactic is interupt meteor showers, dont over aggro (running patrols, what seems to be gargoyle mating season here, mob sizes that often are equal to or larger then typical 4 man areas). Flame temple corridor/dragon's gullet are easy enough to do 4man (tempted to say doable with even just prophecy henchmen from grendich's courthouse) but this zone really does go much smoother with 6man from yaks (took me ~12min to enter lowlands). Dont let the pressure of caravaning keep you from wanting to do this, you dont need to keep rolling from lowlands is all im saying. Justice 22:37, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- 366, 1hr. TOA Caravan; 5 heroes, 3 people. - Monsta 03:55, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- 381 foes in about 1hr 39mins, spent nearly 10mins looking for last group I overlooked which turned out to be a group of charr in the dead centre of the map amongst ruins. Lots of small circles needed to do this one efficiently, took some concentrating, but with a decent set of heroes shouldn't take you long. Left from Yak's Bend, and had to fight 18 foes in Travelers Vale and 29 more in Ascalon Foothills, for a total of 47 before entering Diessa. Don't waste your time coming from ToA, unless you really suck at Vanquishing, if so why are you reading this anyway? Southern central group of charr posed the most resistance and I had to let a few heroes drop and fall back twice before I approached correctly. 1 more to go before all Vanq's complete!! (Also use Ebon Vanguard title, charr can be easily dominated)Puk 12:38, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Also a ToA Caravan; 7 heroes, 1 person (It's meeeeee). Was a luxury having a team of eight (+summoning legionnaire) so we were travelling in style. Even so it took waaaaay too long to find the last group. I am an incredibly incompetent person and "these" are not a safe pair of hands. Shaft Saint Claire (talk) 22:13, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yes it can truly be frustrating to find the last group and don't get me going on a lone solo hiding somewhere out there... I generally go first clockwise then counter clockwise around the map. Tikka LeFem talk (talk)
