where'd that screenshot come from? (69.237.237.15 04:11, 18 July 2007 (UTC))
- I think it's just the southern coast of the Maguuma Jungle. -- ab.er.rant 10:55, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- No. If you look at the full sized image you'll see there's actually explored territory. Also, how is there data on the town and arena and whatnot? Also, "Riven Earth". Anyone here a fan of the Myst series? :D File:Esig2.jpg Eldin 19:32, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Rata Sum[edit]
Rata Sum - is this a deliberate anagram of Mursaat? :-) --Elgin 20:44, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Probably. Maybe you're forced into an alliance of convencience with the Mursaat as you are with Palawa Joko in Nightfall, or maybe the Asura conqered the Mursaat capitol, or found it abandoned after they were driven off by the Titans. -- Gordon Ecker 09:46, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Early mention[edit]
Reyna mentions the area already back in Prophecies. Backsword 03:22, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, it was also mentioned in the Prophecies manual. -- Gordon Ecker 05:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's even written down on the Tyria map from the Guild Wars Special Edition. According to this, it was possibly even intended to become part of Prophecies. —ZerphaThe Improver 14:27, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Gadd's Encampment[edit]
http://www.guildwars.com/downloads/eyeofthenorth/gwen-mapposter.jpg If you zoom in you can see gadd's encampment is not actually on the tarnished coast but is on "Sparkfly swamp" along the shiverpeak's coast, so should sparkfly swamp and gadd's encampment still be classed as the tarnished coast?
- They have the same loading screen, same creatures and same 'look'. So I'd say it belongs to the Tarnished Coast. Alovich 21:03, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- These, as well as Verdant Cascades is technically part of the Tarnished Coast, even if they are not located in that area. At least the coast is not as scattered as the Depths of Tyria. Backsword 01:00, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Soundtrack[edit]
The soundtrack for the Tarnished Coast is my favourite in the entire GW range! The song that plays in the outpost with the sad little piano melody was so well done! Anyone know the name of the peice? Dancing Gnome 07:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you get the directsong soundtrack, that music is in "Through the Asura Gate". Tambora 20:48, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Tarnished?[edit]
Why is it tarnished? What is Tarnished about it? Dancing Gnome 20:57, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's because you forgot to use the polish. Yukiko 21:24, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Image:Tarnished Coast.jpg[edit]
We allowed to use this as it has a IGN logo on it, which means the image belongs to IGN?--§ Eloc § 03:39, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- It was a screenshot of Rata Sum with an IGN logo stuck on it. Just took a screenshot from the same angle to replace it. Slightly lower res, but better quality. - Tanetris 04:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Landmarks[edit]
Come on people! There's bound to be landmarks somewhere in there.--§ Eloc § 03:43, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Might be a little late, but well maybe I can reopen this, I'd definatly say the temple like structure in Arbor Bay Mal 15:43, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
- found something that I refered to here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Talk:Alcazia_Tangle#Landmarks wasn't debated there, figured someone on a more popular page may have some input, as it's still relative. Zachariah Zuan. 00:01, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Zero Damage[edit]
For some reason in this region I keep seeing a weird glitch. An enemy will just stop taking damage. Dragonslash, Meteor Shower, anything will hit for exactly zero damage all of a sudden. Degen will still do damage. It only happens on one enemy at a time, and only for about ten seconds. I've seen it happen with Skelk, Undead Hounds, spiders, and Destroyers. Is this a skill I'm not aware of or something??? Krelus Derian 15:50, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, after looking at Gadd's skillbar I know what the culprit is. Freaking Iron Mist... Krelus Derian 15:57, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Non-Interactive Maps[edit]
Can we PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have the non-interactive maps with the labels that are generated from the game back? They were a lot easier to deal with. No accidental clicking on things, you could see MORE with them, and they got a lot bigger. Not everyone likes the interactive maps...and if they are here to stay then I would love to have a choice as to which map I view rather than being forced to use a map I hate. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.70.75.50 (talk).
