Fight your way into the Jade Brotherhood's guild hall to capture a text containing the identity of the gang's leader.

Quest information[edit]

Objectives[edit]

Reward[edit]

Walkthrough[edit]

Leave from The Marketplace and head west, fighting through several large groups of Jade Brotherhood. You will receive many allies in the form of members of the Ministry of Purity as well as some regular Canthan Peasants. The Peasants are not very useful, but provide excellent fodder for minion masters. Upon reaching Ganshu the Scribe, his group and one more behind him will initially be friendly; after some brief dialogue they will turn hostile. Defeat Ganshu and pick up the Jade Brotherhood Text to complete the quest.

Alternatively, leave from Nahpui Quarter and head north. This route takes a few more minutes, but it is safer. There will be some regular Am Fah mobs and Mantids along the way, but nothing dangerous. Once you reach the island stronghold, a large brawl will already be going on between some Peasants and Ministry forces; you can either try to save some by rushing in head first, or forget about them and play it safe, pulling the Jade groups apart for easier killing. After this, proceed to Ganshu as normal.

Dialogue[edit]

Initial dialogue[edit]

Xan Hei
"I trust that you will join us in our next operation. The Am Fah tried to play a clever game with us, but they got more than they anticipated. Now is the time for us to act, to take things to the next level. The Am Fah will be expecting us to press our advantage with them, which is exactly why we will...strike at the Jade Brotherhood!
"We will take them completely by surprise and deliver the message that their presence, and everything they stand for, will no longer be tolerated. I shouldn't need to remind you of the atrocities they have committed against Cantha and her people. We have the chance to end this decisively. We have gained information that a man named Ganshu the Scribe is currently at the Jade Brotherhood's stronghold in Wajjun Bazaar. He possesses an important text, one that our source says contains the name of the Jade Brotherhood's current leader.
"If we can remove the leadership, then the gang itself should disperse. We can solve this without much bloodshed on either side."
Yes Accept: "That sounds like a valid plan."
No Decline: "What does the Jade Brotherhood have to do with anything?"
Ask Ask: "We're going to Wajjun Bazaar,[sic] to assault one of the Jade Brotherhood's strongholds."

Intermediate dialogue[edit]

Xan Hei: "They're more heavily defended than we anticipated. Good thing we have a lot of support with us. Press on!"

After encountering second group of Jade Brotherhood Knights:

Jade Brotherhood Warrior: "The Ministry of Purity? You're pushing your luck, thinking you can walk freely on our turf!"

Near the Canthan Peasants:

Jade Brotherhood Warrior: "Don't think too highly of yourselves. This is as far as you'll make it!"

Before Ganshu the Scribe:

Ganshu the Scribe: "So it seems that you've set your sights on us. Is this your justice? I don't fear death, but I wonder if you can live with what you're about to do."
<Party leader>: "Don't act as though you're innocent; you're no one to judge. The gangs of Kaineng have committed atrocities on the people of Kaineng for hundreds of years. It's time for that to end."
Ganshu the Scribe: "Your mind is made up, then. Very well. I go into this with no regrets. For your sake, I hope you are able to do the same."

After picking up the Jade Brotherhood Text:

<Party leader>: "This must be the text Xan Hei was after. I only hope that this ends things quickly; too many lives have been lost already."

Reward dialogue[edit]

Xan Hei
"Thanks to you, we were able to secure these texts. This was a critical victory for the Ministry of Purity. I'll just need a little time to find the name we are looking for. Come and speak with me again, when you are ready."
