Touch skills are skill types that require the user to be slightly closer than adjacent to target to be activated. If the character is not in touch range when a touch skill is used, the character will try to move to the target to use the skill.

Game mechanics

Range

• Touch skills have slightly less range than adjacent... 86.746987951% to be exact.

Attribute mechanic

• The Ranger's Expertise attribute reduces the energy cost of touch skills.

PvP Counterplay

These are the primary ways to reduce the chance of being affected by touch skills:

• Move away: Since touch skills require to be adjacent to target, staying away from the enemy will prevent the touch.
• Interruptions and skill disable: Some touch skills are also spells, so they will be affected by daze and effects that affect spell activation time.
• Use the Paragon skill "Can't Touch This!".

PvE Counterplay

• Touch skills that are not spells or attacks will bypass targeting prevention and certain "unkillable" foes defenses (i.e. Kanaxai).

Anomaly.Contrary to what the concise description suggests, Spear Swipe is not a melee attack, but a spear attack with touch range. Skills such as Strength of Honor will not trigger.
