Halloween logo
Heya SP, I took a stab at the wiki logo for halloween Image:User Wynthyst halloween wiki logo.png It's a bit darker than yours. Tell me what you think. -- Wyn 04:39, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I like it. If I can figure out how to change the logo on a theme I'll make a Halloween theme. -- WoB 09:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- That is great Wyn! Make sure to link it to the Editcopy talk page :D --Shadowphoenix 12:56, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I prefer this version, it has a sharper look and fits better in its proportions with the original logo. The only thing that seems to be missing is the shine from the original gw-logo, maybe you can put that in, Shadowphoenix, I think it is in the psd from gw.com. poke | talk 13:04, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well I pretty much like both of them and wouldn't mind which goes up. As for the shine, I a not sure how to go about doing that. I make all my images with Fireworks and I am not sure how to make things shine xD --Shadowphoenix 13:09, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- If you could put Wyn's "Guild Wars" in place of your one, SP, I think we've got the perfect logo. I think your Guild Wars is a little light and not consistent with the current logo, but the size and look of the "Official Wiki" and moon is. -- Brains12 \ talk 18:10, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I will try to get it from Wyn on MSN tommorow --Shadowphoenix 01:09, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

BSOD
I once saw a photoshopped screenie of a bluescreen giving an error message saying "Bluescreen has performed an illegal action and must be shut down." It was pretty awesome. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 23:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) In a political sense, McCain made the most strategic move that he could have made by picking a female as his running mate. It was a genius move to make. Only problem was that he picked the wrong female running mate. Honestly, if Obama would have chosen Hilary as his running mate instead of Biden; there would have been no competition. --Shadowphoenix 18:33, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

- McCain as a president would've been horrible...the man is good but with his policy about kicking Russia out of the Union; Russia was fully prepared to confront America and everyone who stood in their way. They still went ahead with the missile silo because they do not know what Obama is like. Otherwise McCain would've been good. SP; if Obama chose Hiliary that would've been a mistake in my opinion simply because both canidates said rather nasty things about each other and now they put it all aside? I still wouldn't believe them and might have taken might vote somewhere else. . .if you know what I'm trying to get across ;). -- WoB 00:00, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Our Last Roleplay Session
First and foremost I am slightly offended that you called it boring. Sometimes conversation is needed first to develope the characters and relay information. You can't hop into action without having some knowledge OF that action. Second, the random stabbing was quit eout of character for Lelia, as she spent most of the session seducing and gaining my character's trust. Stabbing them in the shoulder and claiming it was a "Waste of time", is something I highly doubt Lelia would do, provided she was mentally sound the whole time, and you never mentioned that she had any mental problems. You were doing fine but there is *no* reason to have an outburst and veiled insult like that when you could just have told me in OOC that you had to leave. RP can always be continued at a later date.
Now it's up to you if you want to retcon that last little outburst, and have our characters continue at a different time or location, or cut that RP off with Shizuma altogether.-- anguard 00:00, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

BSOD (2)
I need to point out two errors in your thinking with your two previous notices. The first, when you believed Xfire caused Vista to malfunction and end with the BSOD, it works a little bit more like: The incredibly flawed and poorly created Vista caused Xfire to shit itself, and Vista in turn runs into a corner and cries, leaving "BSOD, be back in a couple weeks". Now, with the current notice, the whole '"it's a very rare defect and we apologize for this great inconvenience" says Mujaba Gupta the technician from New Delhi' situation is total BS. It's simply covering up Vista's overabundance with flaws by taking advantages of your apparent lack of knowledge of computers and the general incoherence of a strong Indian accent. That's not to say you know nothing about computers, simply that Gupta and Co. from New Delhi thought that you did. Either way, hope you get the computer back soon. calor (talk) 03:14, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- i would've lost all hopes for that the moment i had to ship it in. - Y0_ich_halt 10:53, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that it could be the failness of Vista causing the problem... but I ran a diagnostic and it told me that the memory failed.... so everything that was on the memory wouldn't work (which is EVERYTHING on the computer......). Maybe they were taking advantage of the fact that I don't work for tech support and know every nook and cranny of a computer ;). I am pretty sure that HP just screwed up when they made the computer... but idk =S. And you are right, I probably don't know as much about computers as you or other people so no worries on that comment ;) (but I think I know more than the average person lol). - Wait throught the Fable credits and you can play after the end of the game. Actualy, when the credits start to roll, set the controller down, go have a snack, and a nap, and maybe read a book while your at it, the credits are LONG!!
- Pick up N+ for the DS, or on the 360 market place if your so inclined. I have the PC version, and it's loads of fun.
I know what you mean about the lack of a gaming comp. I'm currently on a 3 year old laptop, (wasn't even that great when it was new) and knowing that I'll be able to play Crysis (and other games) in it's full glory is just too much torture >.< — Wolf 18:47, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

- Hi Shadowphoenix, I was wondering if you could help me work on my user page. There are quite a few things I would like to do, and I like the way you have yours laid out (basic info, character info...etc.) Also, I have created a guild and I would like to add it to wiki's list of Recruiting Kurzick Guilds. Do you, or anyone reading this, know how I can do that. Thanks for any help.--Lord Vengure 02:35, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- To add your guild to the category Recruiting Kurzick guilds just add the code [[Category:Recruiting Kurzick guilds]] at the bottom of the page underneath the Alliance nav code. --Kakarot 02:38, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hiya Lord! I would love to help you. So what exactly do you want to do with your page? Would you like the same format as mine? :) --Shadowphoenix 03:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip on adding my guild, Kakarot. Shadow, yes I think what you have is great. I have 9 characters, and I really like how you have your page laid out for yours. I would like to add pics of them, but not sure the best way to go about it. I am in game right now, so I only check back every so often, but if you could start on my user page by cut and paste the part about me and info directing people to my guild into the main user page, and then start a new page that links to my individual character that would be great start for now.--216.106.40.200 03:50, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Here is a draft. Tell me if you would ike anything changed/added/removed. I wil try to get to your character pages tommorow, but my family starts flying in for the holidays this weekend so I will be quite busy. But I will try to get your character pages made up by the end of the weekend :) --Shadowphoenix 06:44, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. It looks great so far. Thank you so much for getting it started. The only thing I would see I might do (and I know you said you would do this later) but take the list of characters I have and move them to the page that will be dedicated to all my characters. Then there could be a link to the minipage about each character where I have listed their name. Thanks again Shadow--Lord Vengure 17:48, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Shadow, my user page is really looking awesome and you are doing a fantastic job. Thank you so much for doing this for me. I have screen shots of the characters I want to put on the page for each character. The are about 420-460KB in size. Can you help with uploading them? Thank you.--Lord Vengure 15:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- If they are that big you prob. need to crop them down to just your character (maybe with some scenery). If you don't have a program like Fireworks, Photoshop, or some other program with cropping capabilities then this site is easy to use and free, all you need to do there is upload the picture and crop it (the scissor icon) then right click the picture after it has been cropped and select "Save Picture As..." it is simple to figure out :). Then go to that characters page and click on the red link that says "Image:User Guardians Of The Heartland CHARACTER NAME.jpg" (CHARACTER NAME will be tht chracters name), you will then be directed to an upload screen that will instruct you how to upload the image (you have to browse for the image you cropped). You won't need to change the name of the image since I set the link so that it names the image correctly. Then do that for each character :) --Shadowphoenix 16:08, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- There are also links on Help:Images to free to download photo editors. -- Wyn 03:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

I never happened upon any bugs :P I am, however, going to somewhat disagree with you on Fable II's awesome status. To me, it felt like a sub-par revamp of Fable. It's shorter, the story is not as good/long, and they totaly buggered up the magic system. There is a lot more you can do, I'll give it that much. I honestly don't buy into the hype about it. Oblivion was better by far, which was substantialy worse than Morrowind. If you look at each game and compare it to games of it's time, Fable was pretty good, Fable II was an OK Fable remake, Morrowind is one of the best game sI have ever played, and Oblivion is a more shallow Morrowind remake that's also not quite as good. Then again, this is me nit-picking and just ripping inot games from every vantage point. If you liked Fable II, don't let my ranting ruin it for you. — Jon 18:52, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- lol, no worries. You aren't ruining it for me. I personally thought it shot Fable out of the water, but that is my opinion :). I agree that they screwed up the magic system, I prefered the old version but this one takes more getting used too. That is whats odd, some players get the bugs others don't. Do a google search on "Fable II bugs" and you will get to see what I am talking about, the most annoying one is the freezing bug since it makes the game unplayable; cross your fingers that it doesnt happen to you (if it does, just install it to the Xbox and play it from there, you won't lose your saved game. Besides they say you have less of a chance of getting the RED RING OF DEATH if you play most games from the hardrive). --Shadowphoenix 19:21, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Already lost one system to a red ring, and the disk drive went out on the second. Still have the second, run lots of games off a hard drive for it, and just bought a replacedment refurbished console from ebay, works like a charm, in a household with 7+ people all vying for time on the 360, two makes things that much easier. Microsoft has plenty of good things going with the 360, now if only they could get the hardware issues sorted out.... Oh well. I've always been a pretty hardcore PC gamer. You do NOT play an MMO or a RTS on a console :P — Jon 19:34, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

- Damn! I thought I messed something up. Thanks for the help on that one ^^. But yeah, can you answer the question lol! --Shadowphoenix 16:33, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
"Secondly, people are insane..."
<sarcasm>What ever gave you THAT idea?</sarcasm> — Jon 19:39, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- 25 years of observing people... make that 24, year 21 is mostly a blurry mess; but thats a story for another time! ;D --Shadowphoenix 19:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't spend much time observing, I looked in a mirror one day and it just hit me. XD Wait a sec, how do you remember the first 2-5 years? Are you someone like (please tell me you've read the books or this is lost) Bean? — Jon 19:55, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Lost me :P lol --Shadowphoenix 21:20, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, never mind then. They ARE good books if you ever get a chance to read them, altough I would read Ender's game first, those four, and then Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and finally Children of the Mind.
- Sanity is an abstract concept. You may think everyone else is insane, but they may think the same thing about you. Sanity is based on perception. To you, I may seem perfectly sane, but to my friends, I may seem completely insane. I'm somewhat of the mind that I very well might be insane, but have leanred to keep it under wraps most of the time. Some of the things I think up, and conclusions I draw do NOT fell like a product of a human mind. — Jon Lupen 21:34, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Magic system
To be honest, I liked the old magic system in Fable one. The Good AoE spell (forget what it was called, only in the Lost Chapters) plus the magic shield while casting made for a fat combat multiplier. --Antioch 04:51, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- As did I, I think that the new one works but it is more of a hassle to charge up spells that way. --Shadowphoenix 16:31, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- That and I missed a lot of the old spells (multi-hit, heal, shield, the Good AoE). Plus, the clothes are really just for looks (afaik), no armor. Weird. --Antioch 05:23, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Ooze Form
You gave the skill id to 2841, but that's Awakened Head Form. So.. what were you trying to do? Backsword 13:48, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's part of her diabolical plan to take over the wiki by screwing up the skill ids. Honestly, can't someone make a typo without you accusing them of foul play? Lord Belar 19:25, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

600-ing
For one, you have to stand next to the monk for Sympathetic Visage to drain their energy, as it;s drain effect is anything adjecent to you (some of the best 600's I know pay little aattention to this factor and neither do they use it to the fullest for monk killing), and try spirit shackles, plus bring along a famine. — Jon Lupen 21:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Animations
Why are you exactly choosing those which I already started? :-/ There are enough other left... poke | talk 15:51, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I want to help you out... I didn't think it really mattered; besides I don't have all the EOTN skills unlocked, otherwise I would do those. --Shadowphoenix 15:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- It matters in that way as I already have done a part of those... Why don't you make for example the Illusion Magic skills instead? Or if you really want to then please do the Sunspear rank skills only, I have the Allegiance ones nearly finished. poke | talk 16:17, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I can do the Sunspear Skills, but I don't think that it should really matter.... --Shadowphoenix 16:21, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Eh...?! Yeah, sure - doesn't really matter when you are doing work I already did... poke | talk 16:42, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I am not doing work you already did, I am just trying to help in a project. I want to start actually making worthwhile contributions to this wiki. Do you think I am trying to steal you "thunder" or something, they are just skill animations! If I upload something, it hasn't been done so I am not doing work you have already done... --Shadowphoenix 16:47, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- As I told you, I already did something for it; so either of us is doing work for nothing. And that when there are other options of skills for you to choose. poke | talk 16:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Anyone can contribute to the project Poke, I don't see what you are getting so wound up about. I thought the point of the project was to document skill animations, it shouldn't matter who uploads them as long as they get done... --Shadowphoenix 16:57, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I believe what Poke is trying to say is that just because he hasn't uploaded a particular skill animation yet does not mean he hasn't started working on that particular skill animation. Duplicated effort is a bad thing, and the reason why the project pages have "in progress by (name)" on them. - Tanetris 17:04, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
