Skill type. An item spell is a skill that creates a bundle, represented by an urn, that is held in the caster's hands. They cause an effect while held and/or when dropped.

- Requires energy to activate; some also require sacrifice.
- Has an aftercast delay.
- When the duration of an item spell ends or the holder dies or casts another item spell, the ashes being held will automatically drop and trigger its drop effect (if it has one).
- Only Ritualists have item spells.
- Ashes have similar characteristics as bundles, except holding ashes does not impose a 25% penalty to movement speed.

- A few bundles found in missions behave similarly to item spells. For example, the Urn of Saint Viktor has a drop effect.
- Renewing Memories is the only skill that specifically affects item spells.
[edit] Visual identification
The general nature of an urn's effects can be determined from its appearance. Red, rectangular urns have offensive effects. Orange, pear-shaped urns have defensive or supportive effects. Silver, ovoid urns are only created by Lively Was Naomei, and resurrect their creator and their nearby allies when they are dropped.
