Cannot remove players from friends' list
My friends' list is full, so I tried to remove someone I haven't seen in ages, but it just made an error noise, the same sort as you get with "That skill is still recharging". Any ideas why? Should I report to ANet/NCSoft? — Ebany 18:49, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- I had this as well while in 9 rings, but since I had been there for so long and the district was so full, I figured it was just strain on the servers. Today it worked just fine. -- Large 04:32, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Poison
my elementalist character babylon babe always has poison on her, in and out of town at all times and what ever i do i can not get rid of the poison. i dont know why the poison is always on the character or how to remove it. thank you--70.27.22.126 20:54, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- It may be because of the quest Drink from the Chalice of Corruption. If you have completed that quest, you will have -2 health degeneration until you complete the next quest Masters of Corruption. –alistic 20:56, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Dishonorable
I keep Getting dishonorable and I checked what it means but I didn't do anything to what it says what should I do? Just let it go or something else?
- Stop leeching or leaving matches before they finish, and don't piss people off so they won't report you. elix Omni 00:21, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Anti-aliasing
I used to have 4x, now there isn't an option (it only shows None)... help? –alistic 14:55, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- I can't answer this but I can say that you can force this through your graphics card (though it will probably be much more intensive). Previously Unsigned 14:57, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- That means that guildwars didn't detect the capability for 4X anti-aliasing. Maybe a recent driver update caused the change? though I would need more information to really say what's going on. You can also try to make sure directX is fully up to date. --Lania Elderfire 20:31, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Anyways, just updated DirectX and driver for Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (no, I'm not that obsessed with graphics), but antialiasing still does not appear. –alistic 22:03, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

How can I know my character name in guild wars
How can I know my character name in guild wars
- By remembering it.--Neil2250 15:38, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- If you don't have any characters on your accout, you can simply leave the character name field blank. Otherwise you'll have to remember/write it down, should you lose it try going through your guild wars screenshots, that might remind you of your character name. Screen Issues
This started a little ways after getting my game two months ago. Some of the characters, especially soldiers have long lines of color coming from them. This also happens from enemies and the environment, sometimes the color coming from them gets so bad that I can't see the actual environment or what is going on! Does anyone else have this problem and do you know what to do about it??? I've already reinstalled the game which is a combo pack of the first three games and I am playing it on Mac OS X, most updated version through Crossover Games. Any ideas??? It is driving me crazy! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.15.42.189 (talk).
- Sounds like data corruption or a graphics card issue. Previously Unsigned 17:35, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- If you are using crossover it's likely an issue related to crossover and the graphics card. It's possible that a recent update with crossover caused an incompatability issue with guildwars...you can try to revert to a previous version... or even better try running it under windows with bootcamp if you have one. Try a different game and see if it persists. Another possiblity is that your graphics card overheated and now there are permanant defects on the graphics chip it self, and the entire card needs to be replaces; but this is not really likely :-). Also check dust on the graphics card and see if it's getting overheated. --Lania Elderfire 20:28, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- The artifacting you mentioned, is a sigh of a broken graphics card. You'll probably need to buy a new Graphics card. It's less likely that it's faulty RAM, or a software problem with the software you're using to play the game, but I'd save up some money for a new card if I where you :/ — Poki#3 (talk) 09:39, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Artifacting can happen in the absence of any major video card defects. Overclocking, overheating, bad drivers etc can all cause artifacting. For example my Geforce go 7400 has certain driver issues; upgrading to a newer beta driver causes various types of artifacting to occur in my case. --Lania Elderfire 15:36, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Cinematics
I wanted to know how can i replay the first cinematic for NF if i've already played through NF completely?
Valkyrie of Death 02:38, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Valk
- I don't believe you can. Land of the Golden Sun -- Wyn talk 03:45, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- If you have an unused character slot, you can create a NF PvE character just to view the cinematic, or if you have any non-NF PvE characters that haven't unlocked Elona, you can complete Sunspears in Kryta or Sunspears in Cantha to view the cinematic. --Silver Edge 04:59, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Do Weapon Bonuses apply to Non-Attack skills?
I've tried to find a yay or nay on this on the wiki, and coming up short. Do mods such as +20% (customized) or +15% (conditional) contribute to skills such as firestorm? 96.48.131.210 21:25, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Simply, the answer is no. only on the damage from the attacks from the weapon it self. --Lania Elderfire 21:30, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response. Good to know that those wands I grabbed for my Sousukes were all for naught ; ) 96.48.131.210 21:33, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Proph CE
So do they still exist? I've found one for sale on the internet, but the seller wants 600 dollars for it *gonk*. The ones on E-Bay are MYSTERIOUSLY missing their access codes. Anyone know of a place where I could find one?
NOTE: This question relates to acquisition of an in-game effect, so no reverting/moving is necessary. DarkNe7h 17:16, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- It's always possible that someone could find one in a closet, but your chances at this point are pretty slim. Factions and Nightfall collector's editions are readily available, but I've not seen a (non-ridiculous priced) Prophecies sealed box in quite some time. PS. Please fix your signature. -- FreedomBound 17:13, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- Figured it'd prove difficult to find one..INC post has found clues that special effects such as /dancenew will be carried over into GW2. Not sure about that though, however, I still want my final CE :P DarkNe7h 17:16, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Venta cemetery seige death
If the seige death in Venta cemetery doesn't count, according to wiki, as a death, then how is it that my survivor title has stopped counting because of the wipeout?--97.73.64.166 17:26, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps you've discovered the hard way that sometimes the wiki is incorrect. -- FreedomBound 17:39, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- And in some rare cases, deaths that aren't supposed to be counted end up being counted due to a inconsistency bug. The death in the end cinematic in vizunah square is one of the examples where 99.9% of the times it doesn't count as a death but sometimes once in a blue moon someone reports that it counted as a death. --Lania Elderfire 19:12, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Descriptions and Accuracy: Is there a need for two wordings and how it affects players, is it me??
I become confused sometimes on the fact that there seems to be a need for 2 different set of skill listings. And since at the time the skill listing split on Guild Wars (I chose show me concise) I still see the standard listing, but i digress. A good example maybe 2 simple skills with dual awkward wording, such as Ice Spear and Water Trident (Elite). What I mean by this is, why does it has all the standard properties of all 3 requirements:
1-it is a skill
2-It is technically an attack under one wording, but not so on the other listing (is this on purpose and why?) please..
"An attack is performed whenever your weapon is swung or launched at an opponent. Selecting an enemy and pressing Space bar (if you're using a default key configuration) will cause you to attack. Melee weapons attacking are represented by them being swung, and ranged weapons are represented by projectiles being thrown towards the enemy."
3-The standard listing places these both under the category of projectile spell, but as projectiles they seem to follow all the rules of such; can be blocked and one can strafe so it misses since it contain all the properties of a projectile as say an arrow, but none of the effect properties....say interrupts when hit with a projectile requirement.
"A projectile in Guild Wars describes ranged weapons and spells that result in a visible object fired by the user, aiming towards their target. A projectile weapon is any weapon that can be used at range, including bows, spears, staves and wands. Many Assassin and Elementalist spells fire projectiles at their targets."
But when you look at concise description it is curiously changed to the name of the skill so as to avoid the any, culpability when it comes to use.
Am I missing something "besides the simple fact there are 2 significantly different listings" for the same skills and if so why is there not just one standard listing for all skills to avoid the fact of misinterpretation by the player on the part of the descriptors and the 2 set of listings?
Any help would be much appreciated.

- You seem to be confused by the concise and standard description. The concise description is (supposed to be) shorter and more to the point, taking some things for granted. Basically, it also takes for granted that the reader understands the underlying properties of skills and how GW works. Since you seem to be having trouble, ignore the concise descriptions and use the verbose. -- FreedomBound 10:55, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- "3-The standard listing places these both under the category of projectile spell, but as projectiles they seem to follow all the rules of such; can be blocked". Aren't projectile spells unblockable? --Silver Edge 23:28, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Player-written Scribe?
I'm not quite sure if this is the place to ask this question, but if I were to start co-ordinating a player written version of The Scribe, would it be infringing upon ANet's/NCSoft's copyrights. Also, would posting it in my user space on this wiki be appropriate? -- Sageofprofession 20:44, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- I was asked to review this question. And while I am a member of the ArenaNet team, I want to make it clear that my answer is unofficial, just a few thoughts that I hope will be fair, reasonable, and helpful. I strongly suggest that a project of this nature be clearly separated from the official series we ran on www.guildwars.com called The Scribe. Part of this separation would be accomplished by giving the project a completely different name, style, format, and so forth. This could help avoid a copyright issue, sure, but at the core, making a distinctly different publication is a good way to avoid player confusion, as well.
- There are a million other possible names and a gazillion different styles and formats, so I urge those who want to get involved with this project to settle upon those that are very different from the official series. Make the project clearly your own -- and not some artificial "continuation" of an ArenaNet project. I would also suggest that it would be inappropriate to includes links to this sort of project on the official wiki page for The Scribe, for that would imply a connection that does not exist between our official content and player-created content.
- If you seek an official response to this question, I would suggest that you send an email to ArenaNet and a team member will respond in an official sense. -- Gaile 21:26, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
