Unlike the Wanted quests leading to this one from Lion's Arch Keep, there is no additional reward for completing this in Hard Mode.
I am rather sure the reason behind this is because these are not bounty quests but are in fact normal quests.- Zesbeer 23:39, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Strange. I have been trying this quest solo and it has been as unpleasant and tedious as this game gets (and I am comparing that to the contents of all 4 campaigns). I can't see anything fun about this; certainly not for solos. --Deafblindmute 22:41, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
(Reset indent) The original poster should seek help for his masochistic narcissism. I'm sure this kind of slog would be fine as a side quest, but to make it a tremendous central bottle-neck, keeping casual players from accessing further content shows the devs intentions rather starkly. I'd been looking forward to GW2, but this mission raises serious cause for alarm.
Tried it in Normal, tried it in Hard. Thought I had decent Heroes, but this mission proved me wrong. Was looking forward to the rest of the War in Kryta content, but I guess this is where GW ends for me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Philmosk (talk • contribs) at 23:48, 13 February 2011 (UTC).

Easier in HM
Yup, not a joke. I find this quest to be much easier in HM. As someone pointed somewhere above, henchies are just crappy as hell against white mantle in nm. With lvl 15 and no elites, they do little to no damage, have low armor and health, therefore leeching most of the party's healing. My recommendations to make this quest easy and fast?
- If you can, go in normal mode with at least another player. With 2 players and 6 heroes, this quest is absurdly easy.
- Case you have to solo it, do it in HM. There isn't too much difference between nm & hm white mantle, but you'll obtain a large benefit from having 4 lvl 20 henchies.
- If you go in nm I'd even say that I find better going just with 3 heroes and use no henchies. A group of a player and 3 heroes can blast white mantle groups away, and the healing will be much easier.
- Pull, pull, pull! Do you know how to pull? Then pull as there's no tomorrow damnit!
Just my 2 cents --Lhoj 10:53, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- 4... yes. Mobs will come at you all the way from Pluto at the fortress. If your eyes aren't on the radar you will likely wipe there once. And DON'T FORGET TO TAKE THE GOLEM SHOOTER IF YOU DIE!! Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 20:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- It's hard to pull if you're the only player and carrying the Beacon... >.< But yes, those magical beamed-in mobs were the bane of my first attempt at completing it with H/H. I'd managed to battle my way to Cairn and killed him (and the other boss nearby, just for morale) with a few deaths, but nothing that couldn't be worked off... But getting bushwhacked by White Mantle without the opportunity to prepare or set up kill zones soon sent everybody into -45% DP or worse.
- I'm sure this quest would be extremely easy in NM with a group of all players (or just 2 players and 6 Heroes), but non-elite henchies just won't cut it here. If you're doing this in HM, either get other players to help you, or use consumables. - Zaxares 00:42, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- This quest is incredibly poorly balanced for HM if you play a non caster class and you solo. In fact if you solo it's much harder. Having to run all the way back to Zinn means the beacons are nearly useless and holding onto them for the right time means you can't attack or use your skills. THERE IS A REASON PEOPLE HATE ARBORSTONE AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THE FALLING ROCKS. BUNDLE ITEMS ARE BAD FOR SOLO PLAYERS WHO PLAY A NON CASTER CLASS. 122.105.107.211 03:42, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- The solution? Just don't use Zinn's beacons. In arborstone or boreas you have to carry the items necesarily, but in this quest you don't even have to talk to Zinn. I've made the quest 4 times by now (3 in HM, 1 in NM (I don't like to go Hm with the monk and rely on heroes damage to wipe out mobs :P)), 3 of them with melee classes (well, in fact 2 with melee clases and another with a ranger) and have never taken a beacon. I just think they hinder more than they help. --Lhoj 08:16, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- yea, bundle items suck for non casters this is true, Rogueonion 07:53, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Is that a misplaced item? I notice that every time I go through that gate (near the end of the mission) that there is a bush in the middle of the gateway, every time, even though I am aware it is there, I and my party get hooked on it while tying to get through the gate.
