I've yet another request, There was an Echo Shadowform Mod to show when to use echo'd copy. Would it be possible to do the same for SpellBreaker? Will Run 03:09, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm not really sure where to ask this but I'm interested in having a mod made. I find that reading player's names on the PvP field can be quite difficult at times. Having the visibility of names improved would be vastly helpful. If anyone knows of an existing mod or can create a mod like this for me, please contact me on my talk page. —JediRogue 21:50, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Text is generated automatically, and can't be modified with a texture switch. It may be possible to utilize the distance fade to make a minor adjustment, but it's doubtful.--Pyron Sy 00:46, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Links[edit]

Stop editing that the link of Cartography Made Easy is dead plz... cuz it still works fine to me, it's always possible that the server is down for an hour or even a day, instead of directly editing that the link is dead, post a comment by discussion plz.. thx 78.23.70.254 15:26, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. Yes, mediafire has the unfortunate tendency to "lose" account information for a couple of hours. However once their servers realign themselves everything's better again.--Pyron Sy 18:22, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Has anyone found a way of placing treasure chests on the mini-radar yet? this would make chest runs easier

Since chests are placed randomly, there's no way to place them on the mini map. All that can be done to ease chest running is to paint the chests themselves a bright neon green or some other easy to spot color.--Pyron Sy 20:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Cartography made easy edits[edit]

I know there are real computer geniuses out there somewhere can you fix the mod so there's not so many glitches with map overlaps in water, backgrounds, and sometimes the screen goes white, whenever the map is overlapping my screen or it's white I have to minimize GW and then bring it back up...really annoying, I imagine, it shouldn't be too dificult to fix this if you're a genius on the topic.--Ʀєʟʟɑ 05:27, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

The problems you're describing are not problems with the mod. It's an inherent issue with Texmod, and you will see similar issues regardless of which mod you run. Granted, the cartography mods are more likely to cause the issue due to the amount of texture edits required to run them, but I've seen complaints of this same problem out of the Dark Glass mod as well. Please keep in mind that Texmod is a beta program, and issues will arise from its use.--Pyron Sy 10:21, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm having trouble loading the Cartography textures. They used to work fine, when I ran Windows XP, but now I have upgraded to Vista, and the textures don't load in-game. The only things I can think of that have changed are: DirectX10, instead of 9, and: I used to used Omega Nvidia drivers, but now I use the current regular Nvidia ones. I have searched forums for days for an answer, and get none, other than disabling the UAC, which I've already done for other reasons. Thanks in advance. The Shaded Blade 23:27, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Fog remover[edit]

Could someone create a mod which completely removes fog rather than merely making it transparent? -- Gordon Ecker 21:30, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

I've found the textures for the fogged maps: 90821...90824 for the Battle Isles, 90825 for pre-Searing, 90827...90841 and 90876 for Tyria, 90843...90849 for Cantha and 90855...90865 for Elona. -- Gordon Ecker 03:14, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I just wanted to remark to whoever made the Cartography edit-in case you didn't know, the Elona .tpf file is no longer hosted by the site that you had hosted. If someone could fix this, I'd be really thankful.

Drunkard Title[edit]

Is it possible to create a mod that will show if the character is drunk (enough for the gathering point towards the title). Like a small sign "YOU ARE DRUNKKKKKK.....". I know u can see with post-processing turned on but i also know that none of us is using post-processing when going for the title. --DBorG 09:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure if it would be. You'd have to try to find the texture that messes with your "vision". If they created such a texture, then it probably would be. It might just be an effect, thus not having a texture that Texmod could capture.
There are no textures associated with drunkard. This is an impossible project with texmod.--Pyron Sy 10:32, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Health bar percentage indicators[edit]

All the mods that have this change the entire UI. Any chance we could get one that changes the health bars to show 50%, etc. without changing the rest of the UI?

LA to Drok's mod[edit]

Hey, please can you leave feedback for my mod? Fire Staff

Looks pretty good. There is a texture misalignment over Snake Dance, but other than that it looks graphically sound. I would recommend maybe marking the higher risk areas of the run, such as knockdown heavy sections.--Pyron Sy 21:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't run much, but this looks pretty good. You could probably give links to builds on your personal pages or whatever. Also, it'd be cool if you started like a collection or something. :P ~Farlo Talk 21:13, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Mod Interactions[edit]

Thought this might be useful to some folks, I spent ages wondering why some mods didn't seem to work correctly til I realised they might be affecting each other. In particular, there's an odd interaction between Pyron's carography mods and the Meta_S interface mod, such that the Cartography mods need to be order above Meta_S when loaded into Texmod. Also found that FFF mods need to come above both of them too. When I'm running all together at the moment, my order must be as follows:

  • FFF_Aid
  • <cartography mod / mods as required>
  • Meta_S_Interface

If the meta_s goes before the cartography mods, the edges of the mapped areas become foggy / blurred, rather than the hard thick lines one would usually expect from the carography mod. --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 12:29, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

The reason for this is that the mods are trying to change the same texture. The topmost mod in the list takes priority on texture interaction. Since FFF and cartography both affect the map, then fff will only show when placed in higher priority than cart mods. I'm assuming the Meta_S mod does something to the fog texture, which affects the edges of the cart mod also. This will happen whenever you have two mods that alter the same thing.--Pyron Sy 14:26, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

vanquisher made easy[edit]

would it be possible to make a mod that edits the mission map and makes the enemies change clolour on the mission map or would you have to hack it and remake the mission map all together? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:116.240.247.254 (talk).

You can't because most enemies only spawn when you get near them Compass Range So even if it would be possible to show them on the mission map you will only see those close nearby. Fox007 User:Fox007 10:17, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
no but i mean like for the few you miss, they would of spawned and then they would be there so they would appear --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:116.240.246.175 (talk).
There is no way to add enemy tracking to the mini map. I highly doubt there's anything that could be modded in order to make vanquishing easier, short of replacing all enemies with a neon pink texture to make them stand out like a sore thumb.--Pyron Sy 02:01, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Meta's Improved Interface[edit]

Anyone happen to know who the creator is? Or does anyone know how to extract the modifications used in it? I've been working on my own interface for a while, but it's a rather long and annoying process, and most of it has been spent mimicking what is already in the Meta interface. Cedave 00:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

I can't answer your first question, and have bad news for the second. Once a mod is compiled, there is no way to extract the information out of it. If you want to make a mod using pieces of the Meta interface, you'll have to piece it together on your own.--Pyron Sy 00:34, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
My wild guess is that Meta is the creator of Meta's Interface. Extracting things from GW is the easiest part...it took me less than 10 minutes to extract all the major UI components of the game. Photoshopping them is 99% of mod making. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 00:35, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

In-game Mission map Walk-Throughs![edit]

I had this idea after countless times Alt+Tabbing from GW to the Wiki for help on missions. Here's a screen shot of Minister Cho's estate mission that I did. The image is from the main map and isn't cropped and I'm running 1280x1024, just for reference. It looks a little more defined in the mission map though. Any feedback on the idea as a whole (whether I should bother with 58 missions >.<) or ideas on how to improve the look of the paths themselves are greatly appreciated. I'm going to do Cantha first, as it seems to have the smallest and least missions, then Elona, and maybe Prophecies and EotN if I don't die first :D

I've made the red dots and boss symbols a bit bigger and once I have 5 or 6 missions done, I'll upload a "Beta". ~Farlo Talk 08:53, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

That's what I'm doing. It takes about half an hour per map, but damn, 58 missions will suck ass >.<, although I'm already up to Sunjiang District. I also need to test if it interferes with the Cartography maps, but I don't believe it does since those textures are only the fog and borders. ~Farlo Talk 23:21, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
If you're doing it the way I think you are, then it will conflict with the cartography maps. Any mod that alters the map will cause a conflict. However, if you are truly interested in the project, I have no problem with coming up with a solution.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 01:08, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
We may need to fix this...
I've captured the base map textures, I didn't know that messed with Cartographer. I thought that only edited the fog and overlapping textures. I've finished the Canthan missions, and yeah, it messes with them. Forget my older posts, I hadn't realized it yet. I see now that you guys make anything un-explorable black, and since my textures leave it there, it looks like I'm missing a hell of a lot of area to explore even though I'm past 100% (see image). One idea is to combine the images. I can mash them together and then put the black parts from your map onto mine. I didn't save Layered PSD versions of my maps, which was probably stupid of me, so I hope the black doesn't cut out any of the time tables. ~Farlo Talk 08:07, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
If you save the rest of your project as a layered psd, it would be a simple matter to copy the info layer and place it on the carto map texture. For what you've already got done, it won't be that difficult to overlay. I need to find my backup files, but I'd be happy to send you a copy of the maps I've got so you can work on a proper overlay.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 11:34, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Alright, will do. my email is dr.degradio@gmail.com, send me all the campaigns whenever you get he chance. I wish I had saved a layered PSD, but now that I know i need to do this, I will for the rest of the campaigns. ~Farlo Talk 17:06, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Meshed them together, but had to move one or two of the times boxes, which is a pain in the ass since I only had the single layer image >.<, but it all seems to work now, and an updated version is up. ~Farlo Talk 00:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Bad UWSC mod?[edit]

I'm using the UW SC Route mod and the no fog works, but when I go into UW and open mini map there are no colored lines for routes. Is this a bad mod or what? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.20.182.221 (talk).

I have had problems making a mod for a minimap, as it appears to download a fresh copy of the texture with a different checksum every time you open and close the minimap. This could be the problem with the mod. Also, it's usually good practice to start a new section at the bottom of the page when you aren't replying to another topic and sign your posts with --~~~~ or by pressing the signature button. Recent changes to links to CME[edit]

Recently, an anon updated the links for Cartography Made Easy. On the one hand, I want to assume good faith (the file sizes seems to be okay). On the other, this is perhaps the most widely known and used mods, so shouldn't we ensure that the links still go to a proper version of CME (and not some corrupted or trojaned version? (Yes, I know we offer warnings and checksums, but those are ignored more often than not.)

I can think of a couple of way we could restrict modification to registered users. Does anyone have an opinion about whether this is warranted? Thanks.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

I simply don't like people putting up secondary links for my files. I like keeping up with the approximate number of users, and it's quite difficult to do so if people keep adding secondary links. While the links did seem to go to proper files, there's no reason to have them when the mediafire links work just fine. If there is ever an issue, I'm usually made aware of it within a day or so, and will keep the files working. As far as keeping non-registered users from changing the links, I'm against it. There are a few mods linked here that were posted by IPs. Blocking anons from adding or changing links could possibly keep something new and creative from finding a home here. For those that do want to try to hijack a link, there's enough people that keep an eye on this section to revert the change relatively quickly.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 21:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for personally adding links in; I trust in Pyron Sy (but not so much in IPs).
With regards to protecting mods, it wouldn't be that hard to put the CME section in a different article and transclude it here. Thus, CME would be protected from anons, but the page would generally be free for people to add their own custom mods without registration. I agree that there are lots of people here keeping an eye out, but a lot of harm could be done to anyone who downloads during the gap between a hijacked link and the reversion.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:35, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Long time since the last edit, I realize, but has any checking on what can actually be run by TexMod been looked into? From what I understand of the program it can't run anything malicious.... Of course I haven't tried or seen the source.... --Kairu 22:27, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
And then on second thought not all users understand they they should only be downloading TPF files and not EXE's. Nevermind. --Kairu 22:28, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

UWSC Mod Obsolete?[edit]

I've added a smite farming mod that also removes fog for UW. It shows the paths of skeletons, coldfires, smites, and safespots. Given the UWSC mod doesn't actually work, though it does remove fog, I would assume this could allow it to be removed. Also, with just removing fog, there's a few other mods that do the same thing. If needed, I could easily post up a mod to remove fog alone, which would only take a minute. I just no longer see why this may be of any use unless someone plans to remake it to actually work.

I can check it later at home to see if it's really broken or just something on your end, but if it still works for others, then it can stay. What doesn't work, the download or the mod once it's loaded? Also, I'm not sure about how this page should deal with duplicates if it does work, and whether the old one should be removed or not. ~Farlo Talk 03:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm not the only one to claim it doesn't work. There's been quite a few reports of it that I've seen. Also, the download works, but when you load UW, there's nothing there (extra), just the regular map. All it does is removes the fog. --Xv Alex Xv 10:34, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, I hate taking down someone's hard work, but yeah, it appears dead. Opened up the TPF and there is in fact part of an altered map for UW and what could be a fog texture. Oh well though, if it's dead, it's dead. If you want, it'd be cool if you could make up a no-fog mod to replace what little functionality this one had. ~Farlo Talk 21:18, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, at the moment, my smite farm map does clear fog, but I can make one for just the fog tomorrow. Headin' to bed soon, so not tonight. On this topic though, is there a way to remove the fog like the cartographer mod does, and leave the other areas fogged so it doesn't contain the big black areas? I would really like to do it, but I have a feeling I'd have to do piece-by-piece of the map. --Xv Alex Xv 23:38, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm not entirely sure. Except for integrating it with my IGMM, I haven't played too much with the Cartography mods. I could look into though, cause I hate losing the majority of the map's design too. I had an idea of making a faded black line around the borders to mark the edges and leaving the rest intact, but I never got around to it. I might sooner or later though, I just got hooked on Minecraft >.> ~Farlo Talk 06:11, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
I guess I was wrong; the cartographer mod don't leave it. The only idea I really have left is to use memory editing to edit the area to appear as you've walked there, causing the game to make the map look like you have the cartography title. I'm pretty sure they would ban for that though. One other idea that would probably work, but it would suck to be the person to do it ... Take the map pieces and a fogged version of the map, then cover up the black areas with the fogged map and leave the rest removed. Also, the fog piece would be completely transparent with this. I'm not sure how much it would hurt to have every piece of the map coming from texmod though, as if it would cause jumpy textures or anything like that. Idk, just an idea for now. I'm pretty sure only black areas appear in the main three maps, and not in any of the dungeons. --Xv Alex Xv 09:34, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't think anything that extreme needs to be done. Usually, the map is one texture, overlayed by one or two other textures to create the edges and fog. I can give it a go when I get a chance, cause there's basically no way we can try to make the map "brighter" to show through the fog. ~Farlo Talk 17:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Best of luck; hope it comes out well. I would really enjoy it. I'll look through the textures sometime here and see if I can find a good way to do it as well.

Dead Links[edit]

Addons for Prophecies Classic appears to be dead. If anyone would like to update the link with a working one or remove it. --Xv Alex Xv 21:00, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

That sucks, I just looked at that one a couple weeks ago too. Too bad I never kept a copy. I let the author know, so I guess we see what happens. I think this page is about ready for an archive soon. ~Farlo Talk 21:37, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
I took a glance through all of the links if anyone wants to update them.
More Dead Links
Basic Health Bar Percentage Indicator
EotN Label
Footprint Remover
Gold Lined Character Slots
GWRC UI Modification for Runners (Revision 7)
No Fog
Prophecies Classic Addons || Both of its links are dead.
Enhanced Adrenaline Display has a single dead link, but still a working link beside it.
--Xv Alex Xv 10:02, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Well that really stinks. I knew it was a good idea to download a copy of all these mods for backup, but oh well. If you want, start marking them as dead and notifying the authors for now. ~Farlo Talk 13:10, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
I ain't sure how that's usually done, so I figured I would just post up the ones that need it, and let someone else take care of that. Once we see what all is gone, I can start remaking some of them if they're wanted. --Xv Alex Xv 14:04, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Usually I just put something on the user's talk page, so I guess I'll do that with these too. ~Farlo Talk 16:41, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Red Flash Remover is also a dead link. – josəph 20:04, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

IPs and link changes[edit]

Anybody else think this page should be semi-protected so an IP can't change download links to malicious ones? Just came to my mind because I saw an IP in the recent changes change the one for White Vista (and not black vista). Not saying it's malicious, but still. --Lotus 22:49, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

I think this has been discussed at some point, but it didn't go anywhere. For such an inactive wiki, I don't think protecting the page is that necessary, especially with AbuseFilter now in place and the other regular users being so badass, there hasn't been a lot of vandalism on these pages. Now that I've said that, all the links will be replaced with URLs for rootkits and trojans, yipee! ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 04:37, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

CME files removed for violation[edit]

Hi,

It seems the Canthan and Elonian CME maps have been removed from Mediafire. The Tyria and Complete files are still there, but Cantha and Elona have been removed by:

Company: DtecNet Email: antipiracy@dtecnet.com Address: P.O. Box 900 Los Angeles, CA 90035

Yes, and this is something I've been arguing with Mediafire about. Apparently, some anti-piracy autodetection system thinks the map mods are TV shows. I've tried contacting DtecNet, with no luck, and the DMCA counterclaim notice has been ignored.--Pyron Sy 04:33, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Files restored by Mediafire due to lack of response from DtecNet. All is well again.--Pyron Sy 23:13, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Mod stopped working[edit]

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask about this, but my mod (Tyria - Gwen Cartography Made Easy) stopped working after the game update of May 9th 2013. Tried everything and can't get it to work. Any hints?

I know some people who also experienced problems using TexMod after that update, although I can't confirm it myself, because my Cartography Complete Collection and UI Clear mods still work.SuperRobertWa (talk) 21:42, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
It's common after an update for a small number of people to report an issue. Generally, whatever is causing the issue will resolve itself eventually. If you don't want to wait, unlink the mod(s) from texmod via the interface and then relink them. If that doesn't work, you can try moving the mods to a new folder and then relinking them. If all else fails, uninstalling then reinstalling should do the trick. 75.36.181.48 08:18, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
The usual problem is guild wars needing to download updates - texmod doesn't run if you haven't got the latest version of gw, because the game kind of closes and reboots after the initial download. Running gw normally, closing, and then loading with texmod afterwards fixes that. -Chieftain Alex 09:22, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Red Flash Remover?[edit]

Hello, I lost this addon and now the link has been removed due to being on megaupload or w/e. Could someone that has this mod re-upload it somewhere and post a link, or email it to me? 63.142.79.193
