Araiia is a Mo Zing. Born as Canthan nobility during Zhoyo 1059 AE, she studied the Way of the assassin at Shing Jea Monastery but never finished her training. Coming to the realization that she was expected to follow her family's footsteps and serve in the Imperial Guard as soon as she was old enough, she made arrangements and fled south to the Jade Sea with the help of the Am Fah and money from her family's pockets.

She spent a few years with the Serpent Clan, during which she learned advanced survival techniques and became somewhat skillful at archery. As tensions began running high with the arrival of the plague and return of Shiro, Araiia left the Luxons, bought passage to Kryta, and began making her way in the world.

All Araiia has ever wanted is to be part of a family where she is appreciated as a person, not just used for her abilities as an assassin. Time and again in her travels she has received offers to join various guilds, but they all proved... disappointing. Some even turned against her in times of need. She has decided that having control over her life and free will is more important than seeking acceptance from a group.

Despite being an assassin, Araiia is not fond of daggers. In fact, she doesn't like being anywhere near her victims. She prefers to use a bow, or her increasing mastery of various spells.

In 1079 AE, she took the leap and relinquished her status as an assassin to become a full-time mesmer.
