Serious topic[edit]
Do you like mayonnaise on your sandwiches? 99.142.23.74 11:46, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- No, I'm quite partial to mustard. I generally don't eat much of anything with mayonnaise. -Auron 12:40, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't like it much either. One day I found out pesto was mostly mayonnaise, and that stunned me, because I quite like pesto. 99.142.23.74 12:42, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't know that, and I know I've watched pesto being made before. Maybe the places I get it from use a different recipe? I also dislike mayonnaise, but I'm not fond of mustard either. People tell me I've never had a proper pretzel. :/ -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 15:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Reconfirmation[edit]
The RFA policy is vague about how the reconfirmation vote threshold is supposed to decrease over time. Would you rather accept the reconfirmation request so that it can be resolved more quickly, or wait for a bureaucrat to decide that the threshold has been met? -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 06:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- I trust Pling's judgment in the matter. In his post, he said that starting one too early would be a mistake, as too many people would vote with their feelings rather than rationality. I'm willing to wait until whenever he (or you two) decides it is time. -Auron 08:34, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

RfA[edit]
In my RfA Emmett's vote seems kinda suspicious, since it's his first contribute in this wiki. Is there a limit about who can vote in RfA? I didn't see any note about it. - J.P.Talk 18:08, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

- that's becasue there isn't any. Anyone can vote on RfA's. ~ PheNaxKian 18:13, 9 July 2009 18:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Auron, can IPs support/oppose RfAs, or are only autoconfirmed users allowed to do so? I know that RfBs are voted on, and that you've got to have at least 100 good edits to vote, but I don't know what the rules are regarding IPs and RfAs. Thanks, 86.143.168.20 18:28, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not Auron but I'm pretty sure IPs can vote on an RfA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. — Jon Lupen 18:30, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- I also am not Auron, but you are correct Jon, there's a (very) lengthy discussion about it on the RFA talk page. Freedom Bound 18:41, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

About your comment...[edit]
About your comment on Gaile's page saying I overused the quote template. Sry about that, I thought about deleting the quote after I posted it but well... it was already saved so... there you have it. But next time put such a comment on my talk page because it has nothing to do with the topic and was only adressed to me. I'll watch my usage of the quote template in the future.
At first I laughed tho with your comment, because you used the word dude. I watched a video earlier today with a funny scene where they overused the word dude, wich was so hilarious. Qaletaqa Hania 11:02, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

- Fair point Armond. As to the update summary comment, my comment in IRC was taken somewhat out of context. However I can't really think of a nice none vulgar way of putting it into context at the moment. Lets just say I was somewhat uninformed about the ways of the gentler sex and thus, those who didn't know me well, assumed a somewhat virginal nature on my part, rather than assuming more correctly that I'm a friend of Dorothy's. :) -- Salome 23:33, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

- Yes: Auron, I think what DrogoBoffin is trying to say is that you stated that in order to upload a picture you need to have it under GDFL, and then you said "unless you have permission from the copyright holder". This may confuse people: does it have to be in GDFL, or do I need the permission? As you are explaining this to people who doesn't know the subject, it sounds like contradicting. And releasing something under GDFL=copyright permission, me thinks. Titani Ertan 08:56, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly releasing under GDFL=permission but the way you said it could be taken as released under GDFL or permission. Drogo Boffin 09:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
@ Drogo - You still haven't pointed out my contradiction. I say that everything must be released under GFDL in my first sentence. I then say copyrighted material must also be released in my second sentence. The two are not mutually exclusive, thus it isn't contradictory. What is it about this that you can't understand? Protip - linking my own text to me doesn't work, since I didn't contradict myself. @ Titan - that isn't contradictory. People ignorant of any subject will get confused if you throw them in the middle of it, but that doesn't make statements made about the topic contradictory. -Auron 09:13, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- I said it sounds like contradiction. And as said above, releasing under GDFL=copyright permission. Titani Ertan 09:18, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- It isn't a contradiction. Deal with it. I've explained my position and wording ad nauseam. This discussion does not need to continue. You misread my post. You commented on it. I pointed out that it is not, in fact, a contradiction, as I did not say you could have either copyright holder's permission or permission to release content under a new license. If you are still confused, consult a dictionary and read what "contradiction" means, as it does not apply to this case in the slightest.
- Copyright holder's permission is required to obtain new licensing (generally), but you can have permission to use the image without having permission to change its licensing. Therefore, I wouldn't say "GFDL=copyright permission," because it's inaccurate - they are not equal. If you meant something else with that, please rephrase, but the current wording and the use of the equals sign makes it wrong. -Auron 09:58, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
This has gotten really dumb. Auron's wording was ambiguous, but not incorrect. He said you needed permission from the copyright holder to upload it. Uploading it releases it under the GFDL, therefore by granting you permission to upload it, the copyright holder is granting you permission to release it under the GFDL. That is the permission you are really seeking, to release an image under the GFDL, not only to upload it to the site. There is no contradiction. That is the only reasonable way to interpret what he said, especially when he reiterated it like 5 times. Misery 11:29, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- The funny thing is that all the people that posted here, exactly know, how the copyright works.. which makes this discussion even more dumb.. poke | talk 13:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

There are infinite ways you could display a banner on your userpage - pick one of the infinite-minus-one that isn't the same as the mediawiki new messages banner. Long time[edit]
I appreciate your statements on my RfR. Been looking around and it's good to see some familiar names. How's it going, bro? Gares 17:56, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Eh, it's okay. I don't wiki as much as I used to and I don't guild wars at all. I mostly play WoW now, but that wiki is terrible, so I stick around here. Mostly just waiting for D3 to come out, since GW2 seems very very far away. -Auron 19:32, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not even 3.2 keep me interested for long. 5 man ToC = farming Abyss Crystals, cut out trash in the ToC raids, and those new Argent Tourney dailies are an even quicker way to grind gold. I was in CB for Aion and playing Chinese Aion until the NA version is released. FFXIV looks promising. But yeah...where is GW2? Just saw a vid and it looked awesome, but it's starting to sound a lot like Darkfall. — Gares 00:38, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- My playtime on WoW took a skydive when I read the 3.2 patch notes and realized that, while Wrath was great for game balance, Blizzard is now showing the same signs ANet did around Factions' release (namely, a number of issues are being ignored/left unaddressed by the devs with no sign of a change in stance on the horizon). -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 01:29, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- B-b-bbut level 20 mounts, man! (I'm secretely pissed at this because most of my characters had to shell out the real cash back when they were at 40)-- anguard 01:30, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not playing on the public server; no chance in hell. But in you guys' opinion, for an irritable, misanthropic, curmudgeonly layabout with little to no desire to spend hours grindan for gold/XP, is WoW a worthwhile experience? --Jette 01:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- After having just one character make it past 70 that ISN'T a death knight, I've become spoiled to the point that I have no patience to level anything else very far past 20, as it gets dull and annoying. Otherwise, the game offers a LOT for 15$ a month, I must admit. I hated it because of that, at first, but there's a lot to do.-- anguard 01:33, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

- If you mean you hated the subscription fee, you're just spoiled by GW. :P
- I dunno, Jette. The "leveling grind" really isn't as bad as people make it out to be - it's still bad, especially on a first character, but if you know what you're doing (hint: read useful resources + aren't a fuckwad), you can hit 80 in a week or two instead of the 1-2 months most people will tell you.
- The main reasons I quit were lack of not-terrible people to do high(ish)-end content with that would still take someone at my gear level and what I said about patch 3.2. Like I said, 3.0 was great for balance (they finally got all 30 specs to be useful), but 3.2 shows that, at best, a number of the issues revealed with 3.1's actually hard content (fire mage mana issues/rng dps, warrior rage - though they say they'll fix that in 3.3, maybe - beast mastery hunter issues in fucking general, holy paladin loot, etc) will be fixed next expansion. I'm sure there's a much better list of current class problems, but I don't care enough anymore. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 01:54, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- GW's freeness was a factor, but it was mostly the fact I don't like paying for the same game over and over again.-- anguard 01:56, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- So you're fine with using a company's bandwidth as much as you want for as long as you want while also taking advantage of the manpower they put into updates over that time but it's terrible for them to say "hey, you're costing us money, you need to compensate us"? </unrelated> -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 02:20, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've shelled out around 140$ for GW, it would have been 540$ more with the time I've been playing. That's a ~700-dollar game. A bit ridiculous, I think.-- anguard 02:23, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Once again, I would never play on the public server. I would happily play one for GW if one existed. Private servers usually have their own custom (i.e., better) settings anyway. Quadruple XP and better balance, usually. And admins that are actually decent. --Jette 02:26, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Notrly. Constant services tend to require constant payment. For a platformer that gives you maybe 50 hours of entertainment, yes $700 is a bit much, but for a game that you could potentially play for years? If I pay $50 for a wii game and then play it for 50 hours, all I have to do to keep up with a subscription game is play 15 hours/month (which is, for me at least, a *lot* less than what I actually play). Thus, MMOs are not only time sinks for me, but cheap ones that also have the side effect of making me late for <insert morning class here>! -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 02:28, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I concur to a small extent. WoW gives a lot more content than GW, making it -slightly- worth it.-- anguard 02:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Type /age, divide what you paid by the hours you have played, compare that to any other kind of entertainment in the world, realise how badly you have shafted ANet. Misery 02:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe, but I wouldn't play if they required pay. Hell, even WoW has to take a hiatus because I run out of money. That's why I'm not playing it for the past month.-- anguard 02:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- But honestly, when you have a "real job", you don't even notice the crappy monthly payments. If your budget is tight, it's a luxury you can't afford, but it doesn't even come close to things like rent. Misery 02:46, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've got around 2000 hours on a combined force of Oblivion and Morrowind. I only paid for each once. Different game, same concept. It's not multiplayer, but it supplied one hell of a timesink that's on par with my gametime with some MMOs.-- anguard 02:51, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I liked Fable, and FF8. -- Tha Reckoning 02:57, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Yes, games are underpriced realistically. At least good ones are. That was my point, WoW, or any other fee based game, is not overcharging at all. That being said, no one is willing to pony up 700 dollars up front for something that they might NOT get 700 hours of play out of, so a flat payment like that for a game such as Guild Wars or Oblivion is unrealistic. I hate things like subscriptions and micropayments, but they actually make sense. What I love are micropayments for shit I don't care about so that other people effectively subsidise my gaming experience. Misery 02:59, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Can't believe you blocked someone for disagreeing with you and your mates. Is this some joke I'm not privy to? Backsword 15:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- What? Link so I have some idea what you're referring to. -Auron 15:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- You have made one block in the last several weeks. And a less than ten edits since. I think you can guess. Backsword 18:37, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- "talk page spam, inability to understand that ANet has more information than players in regards to numbers of people playing"
- I can't see how this has to do with my mates, unless you're now counting shard and pika fan (a person I've spent months bitching at on PvX) as my buds. So unless you're telling me who my friends are, I can't see how this has anything to do with them. But I guess every ban I place is biased, isn't that right? If you ignore reality, assume people are my mates when they aren't, then make assumptions based on that already flawed basic belief, I guess you can get to pretty much any conclusion you want to.
- I noticed a number of stupid comments from the IP. I looked at the contributions and saw more than 10 of them on the same talk page in less than a day. That's talk page spam. Just FYI. If you don't know what talk pages are or what spam is, I'll be glad to link to dictionary entries for either. On top of the spam, the user was repeatedly ignoring comments by Linsey talking about how few people play HB/TA. I mean, seriously? Who the hell is going to tell a dev they don't know how many people play their game? Discussions with devs are already crowded enough as it is - people ignoring reality and insisting that they know better than Linsey that HB has a playerbase are a waste of everyone's time. And seeing as that was the journal's talk page, and not his own or someone else's, it's really the wrong place to be wasting people's time. -Auron 18:50, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- You have made one block in the last several weeks. And a less than ten edits since. I think you can guess. Backsword 18:37, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Said user was engaging in a debate, which is nothing different from what the majority of users on those pages do. Including yourself. The posts did not lack relevant content to that debate. Whether you liked that content or not.
- The only thing that separates this anon is that he was arguing against you. Presumably he found your arguments "stupid" too. I realise you feel strongly about Sealed Deck. Possibly thinking it's the best gw news in a long time. But even if you weren't personally involved, no one has ever been blocked because an sysop disliked their arguments before.
- Asides, such ... unorthodox use of sysop powers is something the wiki needs to be informed about. Backsword 07:38, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Telling Linsey that hero baddles has a huge following is very different from engaging in a debate - it's being ignorant and uninformed. 10 edits that aren't worth reading constitutes spam. If he was reading anything anyone else was posting and taking it into consideration (mostly Linsey's hard facts on how many people played each game type), I would have been much less likely to lay down the hammer. But he wasn't talking to anyone but himself, repeating the same wrong statements over and over ad nauseam. That's why he got banned. You've missed the reason over and over, even though I stated it quite clearly. You firstly claim that I did it because I was helping my "friends" Shard and Pika Fan, when they're nothing of the sort. You then say that I did it because I feel strongly about sealed deck. Here's a hint - I don't. I honestly think ANet is going to fuck it up, just like they've fucked up everything else they've done in the past two or so years. ANet's continual fuckups are the reason I no longer play Guild Wars. My (non-existent) feelings about sealed deck have absolutely nothing to do with why that user was banned. You then try to claim that it was my dislike of his arguments that led to the ban - again, absolutely wrong. It was his inability to read and respond to other people's arguments that included solid facts like Linsey's numbers on players in each arena, that led to the ban. However, to shut down your stupid fucking comments once and for all, check this out - I disagreed with what Vortex said, too. In fact, I told him so in no uncertain terms on his talk page. Was he banned? No. If I was banning people I disagreed with, he'd have been first on the list - but I guess you ignore stuff like logic and evidence when it's convenient to do so. I really wish I could just chuck reality out the window like you when it comes to debates. It would make life so much easier. I could just make shit up all day instead of pointing out facts and evidence and debunking terrible logic.
- I honestly hope you're trying to troll me - because the alternative would mean you honestly believe half the bullshit that comes out of your mouth. Look at the ban reason. Read it word for word. Want to know the ban reason? You just read it. Look at all your crazy ass inventions as to why I banned him. Read them one by one. You call pika fan my friend. You think I am remotely excited about anything Guild Wars and that's why I banned him. You think I ban people because I disagree with their arguments, even though there is evidence to the contrary in that very same section. Can you take a minute, stop trying to invent stupid fucking bullshit that isn't true or even remotely supported by anything resembling fact, and realize that I banned him because of the reason I posted in the ban menu? -Auron 09:21, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. I disagree with pretty much everything that comes out of your mouth, Backsword - at least when it's in English. Yet I've only banned you for violating 1RR. You can scream bias all you want, but both logic and evidence are against your whacked-out claims. -Auron 09:21, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Asides, such ... unorthodox use of sysop powers is something the wiki needs to be informed about. Backsword 07:38, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter how poorly you say he argued. And there is no point in trying to convince me that he did. My concern is hardly that you ought to have conferred with me first. Even should I personally agree with that, the fact remains that a poster engaging in a regular, good faith, debate was blocked because a sysop disliked their arguments. Why the sysop disliked them is a side issue.
- Nor does the fact that you were personally involved really touch the core issue. It does mean that even in the best interpretation your actions showed poor judgement, as whether there was any of what you call "bias", suspicions of non fair treatment will be created. There are reasons why just about any guide to good sysoping (by whatever name it goes by in that environment) recommends that one should avoid such situations and instead let another sysop handle it.
- I cannot, of course, know exactly what provoked you so, that you blocked just that user. I can speculate, and by your examples, vulnerability seems to be part of it. That does not decrease my unhappiness with your actions.
- As for your strawmen, don't bother. I have no intention of addressing them. I would not serve keeping the focus on the actual issues. But note that the fabrication of quotes is a violation of GWW:NPA.
- And once more, you are required to use the log. Backsword 14:20, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- "Even should I personally agree with that, the fact remains that a poster engaging in a regular, good faith, debate was blocked because a sysop disliked their arguments."
- The funny thing is, that isn't fact at all. I disliked Vortex's arguments as well. He received no ban. The difference between the two was the ability to read and respond like a normal human being. I could care less about his arguments - anyone spewing the same bullshit over and over (specifically bullshit that is completely wrong as proven by linsey et all) without recognizing that other people are debunking their argument over and over are liable to be banned.
- "There are reasons why just about any guide to good sysoping (by whatever name it goes by in that environment) recommends that one should avoid such situations and instead let another sysop handle it."
- Erm... what? This is where you're totally out in left field. I made a single post on that talk page, and it was a direct response to Vortex. I was in no way responding to or communicating with the IP, nor did I continue posting about that topic. Do your fucking homework before making shit up and pretending I was even remotely personally involved in the case.
- Anyway, this is become a joke. You've accused me of being friends with people I'm not friends with, banning people because of how excited I am about game features, and banning people because I dislike their arguments, when none of that is remotely true. You've also claimed that I was too personally involved to be unbiased in the case, regardless of the fact that I hadn't interacted with the IP in any way before the block occurred. I've stated the reason for the block already, and as Pika Fan posted below, I am perfectly entitled to blocking for disruption.
- You came on my talk page, posting absolutely ridiculous bullshit, and then after I debunk your terrible "logic," you try to call it strawmanning. You're welcome to discuss this in reality; so far, you have shown complete inability to do so. As soon as you can discuss this without making ridiculous bullshit up in every post you make, feel free to come back, but so far, your track record is against you (here's a hint - inventing that people are my friends or that games I don't play inspired me to block people counts as "ridiculous bullshit"). Now, stop trolling - you're bad enough at it as it is. You can't possibly believe the shit you've been reduced to accusing me of, so you've gotta be just making it up to try and get me riled up. -Auron 19:34, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- And once more, you are required to use the log. Backsword 14:20, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- You are contradicting yourself. You don't care about his arguments at all, yet you go on in several posts on how bad you think they are? That does seem to herald an end to useful discussion.
- No, Auron, you didn't address the anon yourself. Other people on your side did. I have referred to that earlier. But you where part of the debate. You took a clear side. And that side was in opposition to the anons side. And you may claim indifference, but you obviously care enough to post repeatedly and lengthily about the topic.
- I would advice against using Pika Fan as a source of information. You are not allowed to block for the vague reason "disruption". You are allowed to block on 'discretion', but only if you think you have community support for it, and in cases like this, only if you use the log. Backsword 10:06, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- I don't care about his arguments at all. His argumentative style (i.e., ignore facts and keep posting regardless) is what I disagree with. There is a huge difference between the two, and the latter is what I've been arguing against this entire time. Your inability to grasp the difference doesn't mean no difference exists.
- Wait, what? Other people on my side? When the hell did I say I agreed with anything they wrote, outside of what I explicitly posted? My opinion there was my own, and I didn't look for camps to hide in or people to agree with. I made a single post and I was done. If Shard or Pika Fan or Jesus Christ himself had similar opinions, it doesn't fucking matter in the least, and doesn't have the slightest impact on the ban I placed. You're trying to claim that making a single post in response to a single user dictates my standing in the faction war in that thread, and that I am automatically unable to ban anyone on the opposite side of that faction war because it might be biased? I'm going to have to call bullshit on that - in fact, here I go. Bullshit. You're wrong about that and there's no other way to put it. The entire "sysops attempting to stay neutral when it comes to sysop tools" thing exists to prevent sysops from knee-jerk reaction bans against people who insult them or troll them. When you have to needle it down to "you made one post that agreed with some people that disagreed with another person, and so even though you had no personal interaction with said person at all, you are unable to ban them because it might seem biased... to me," you're just totally fucking wrong about it. Go wikilawyer somewhere else, because that's a poor ass attempt. Or, here's a better idea; don't. Nobody likes a wikilawyer. You forget the whole point of something while focusing on the minutia. And the best part of this is - you're wikilawyering with something that isn't even policy. While we're on the subject, however, go back and read the page you're trying to wikilawyer with. None of those points back up your claims.
- Please, stop being out-argued and out-wikilawyer'd. You might have had a bigger impact if you tried to focus on facts, reality, and the spirit of
the policy(oops, not even a policy, lolz) the sysop guide. You wasted several posts inventing my friends list, pulling reasons why I might be biased out of your ass, and then poorly wikilawyering regarding sysop impartiality. Just stop. This is sad. I honestly request that you don't make another post if it's just going to be full of as much bullshit as all those to date have been. I shouldn't have to facepalm every time I read another paragraph of your "argument." -Auron 15:55, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- You may find some distinction between the arguments and their style that makes you feel justified in a semantic argument, but it should be clear to you that I don't care. I doesn't matter why you you disliked them. The issue is you arrogating yourself a position of judging what statements other may see or must believe. This wiki has a long tradition of running on free and open debate, where everyone gets to decide for themselves which arguments they find convincing. This doesn't really belong on a user talk page, but it needs to be said.
- As a sysop you should already know that there are more than one reason a situation of conflict of interest is to preferably avoided. The one you mention is but one, far from the 'entire' reason. If you disagree with all the other reasons, they still exist. And if you do disagree with them, well. And if you didn't want to be on a side, you still were. Or are you going to claim to not belong to the faction that wishes to see TA&HB removed? Backsword 21:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Is it so hard to understand that spamming is not debating? IP spammed. IP got banned. You can disagree that IP spammed, but you are not a sysop. Please don't act all presumptuous and start thinking that you know better than sysops about what their jobs entail. Pika Fan 21:49, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Also, it's pretty clear that a general consensus regarding the matter has been made judging from the fact that you are only one crying about it here. Feel free to prove me wrong that pretty much everyone on this page except you agrees that what Auron did wasn't wrong, or are neutral with it. Pika Fan 21:54, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have a theory: You lost Backsword. At this point all you are accomplishing is causing unneeded, unwanted, and uncalled for wikidrama, which I believe can be filed under disruption. Give it up before you get too far behind yourself, as you've long past the point of being ahead. Save yourself what little face you have left and head home. — Jon Lupen 00:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

- Pretty sure not everyone involved knows what Auron's point was. Pretty sure that's obvious to everyone if this drama can even start in the first place. Pretty sure that means you're either trolling along with a troll, which is being retarded or totally ignored the fact that the trolling stopped at the point where Titani and I were doing a mini-bicker about reasoning and prevention, which points out a selective reading problem. Which is it?
P.S "Either" refers to one or the other. In case you can't count, it means two. Not three.Pika Fan 20:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC) - Also, kindly point out which part of Pretty sure Auron's point is that, whether he is friends with someone or not, it does not sway his judgement. Pika Fan 19:42, 4 September 2009 (UTC) is trolling. Go on, try to make a laughable "argument" like Backsword. Pika Fan 20:26, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

- Pretty sure my last comment wasn't trolling, stop tl;dr-ing single sentences, it's getting retarded. Pika Fan 19:55, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

@Backsword
If you post the same rubbish 10 times on a single page, pretty sure that constitutes as spam, and spam is disruptive. Trying to suggest otherwise to someone who has access to server records constitutes as rubbish. Your logic, or rather the lack of it has been quite evident thus far; because you know you can't give a proper argument, you decide to resort to selective reading, ad hominem attacks which question Auron's mental state. Because you are in denial that Auron was right in banning a disruptive user, you decide to throw in a red herring: The sysop discretion log. Sysops are allowed to exercise discretion and issue preventive bans to disruptive users. Since the user in question has been reiterating the same thing over again, which has been repeatedly proven otherwise by Linsey, as well as other players, it is only natural for a sysop to intervene to prevent drama from continuing, as well as the content from degenerating into a circular argument. According to the sysop discretion log : This page is for sysop actions that contradict written policy per adminship policy. Note that this is not required for discretionary actions with an absense of any directly supporting or opposing written policy, but they are also allowed here (especially if the status is questionable). - Banning someone for disrupting the wiki, is clearly not contradicting written policy as there are precedences when dealing with spammers.
Feel free to prove that posting the same falsified content is not spamming and disrupting the wiki. You could cry AGF, but posting the same thing repeatedly, and 10 times no less, with solid evidence otherwise, pretty much negates whatever (lack of) reasoning you can cough up. - I'm quite sure, seeing Auron's actions in general, that he doesn't tolerate what he considers as blatant stupidity. Blocking someone for being stupid has nothing to do with who his mates are or are not. Jennalee 14:13, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Help[edit]
Please. Titani Ertan 10:40, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, what do you want me to do? Tell him his image looks like my nephew did it in 5 minutes on photoshop? If he wants to have random bullshit cluttering up mainspace pages, you have to discuss it with him and reach consensus - it's not something sysops jump into and make a decision either way. Our job extends as far as policy violations and, in some cases, extreme dumbassery, but I'm not seeing either there. -Auron 11:23, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Also, policy-wise question: I altered my signature, to represent Greek-letters that look alike the English ones. I want to know if it breaks the policy in that way, or I can use it as it's not like I spell "Titani" in those letters.
Btw, this, is amazing. Τιταπι Εϛταπ 13:57, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- eh, it doesn't look anything like your usual name. I wouldn't be able to tell who that was unless I followed the link to the userpage. -Auron 15:04, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's a "no" then. kk, thanks. Titani Ertan 15:14, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- You use a browser that doesn't show you the target page when you hover over a link? -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 15:15, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's completely irrelevant, actually. I shouldn't have to hover over a name to figure out what the name is. But of course I have firefox, and it does cool stuff like that. -Auron 15:18, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[[User
- It doesn't look much more confusing than "—Daɽkɘʃʂ ӍcÇɧaoʂmonǥɘɼ" -type signatures, which I don't think anyone complained about. Vili 点 15:46, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Didn't think it was relevant, I just found it odd that you actually clicked links instead of using standard tools to avoid doing so. I mean, you have noscript iirc, so I figured you'd be paranoid enough to avoid clicking links willy-nilly like that. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 15:47, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

- uma... oh wait. But if you spew a bunch of stupid bullshit, expect to have it countered. "I don't care" isn't a good argument after you've made false claims and said stuff like blizzard copied Anet with the whole expansion concept. If you didn't care, you wouldn't have posted in the first place. Man up and let the criticism make you wiser. -Auron 02:34, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Wasn't it A.net who nerdrage'd and quit to make their own MMO independant of WoW?-- anguard 02:56, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, the three main anet devs split off from blizzard during production of wow. -Auron 03:34, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- And then they made a game just as bad or worse, oh the irony. -- Tha Reckoning 03:42, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
