Welcome!

Hello, Backsword, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, please feel free to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing! --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:43, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

in case you hadn't noticed...

About 2/3 of the way down the "disputed" tag discussion, I mentioned I'd temped up a smaller version of the notice at User:Aiiane/Sandbox3. Any better? (Probably best to respond on the 1RR talk page.) Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 22:43, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Izzy League 200 skills 1

Why the hell are you removing the issues, if there are 2 of them, it should be noted there ----InfestedHydralisk Shadow Prison.jpg 12:19, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I moved it to the talk page. - anja talk 12:21, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't see anything moved.. ----InfestedHydralisk Shadow Prison.jpg 12:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Because you readded them just as I saved. :P Ohwell, sort it yourselves. - anja talk 12:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Monster skill

Why are you removing the monster skill template? It is monster skills... - anja talk 11:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Rare Scroll Trader

Hi Backsword, in the render project you added that npc name for a certain skin. as far as I am aware the only NPC by that name is in the guild hall, and they change depending which guild hall you have. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 00:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Shiverpeaks

I left a note at Talk:Shiverpeak Mountains. Could you take a look? -- ab.er.rant sig 05:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Ok, you noticed already :P -- ab.er.rant sig 05:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Quest Formatting

Take a look here for the quest project that I am currently working on. Guild_Wars_Wiki:Projects/Quests#To_Do. The editors that have been working on the quest project to keep track of all of the quest articles have agreed on removing the [Difficulty Master] text from the initial dialogue because it is listed under the infobox. If you feel it should still be there go to the quest formating page and express your concerns there. --Sktbrd341 13:20, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Categorization

Hey Backsword, care to tell me why you changed it back: [1]? By using the 2nd parameter of the {{NPC location}} template, it categorizes wrong. (Category:Eye of the North NPCs vs Category:Eye of the North (outpost) NPCs) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 21:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

OK, just had a closer look at the {{NPC location}} template and I think I understand why you changed it back. The problem mostly lies in the fact that Eye of the North doesn't link to a mission article, but to the expansion. In most cases {{NPC location}} works fine, except in cases for NPCs located in Eye of the North (outpost). -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 21:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Careful what you do

Make sure to read all information before making changes. It saves everyone time. I am speaking of your recent uninformed decision to remove an edit of mine. If you would have looked deeper you would have seen I have a very specific system for calculating the DPS. ~ Zero rogue x 08:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

No template on quests

Hey, when adding the No{{no}} to quest pages, make it into No{{no|red}} instead as it looks alot better.--§ Eloc § 03:24, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

o.O

[2] <- its a talk page, everything you add to it you sign. -Auron 03:57, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Aww, no need to be mean Auron. XD--§ Eloc § 04:34, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Go away, I really don't want a headache over a simple question. -Auron 04:35, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Can do!--§ Eloc § 04:36, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Effect

Please read the article first. This is not a "skill type" (as Enchantment, Hex, Spell is) but the type of skills which are Effects (sounds wierd ^^). See also Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Effects. poke | talk 16:45, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Recent changes

Do you want to continue discussing the Recent changes table? Or can I remove the RFC now? (Btw. when using the table + the css you only lose ~10px towards the unmodified one) poke | talk 09:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Questions

When you have time, I still have some unanswered questions at Guild Wars Wiki talk:Arbitration policy#The Arbitration Committee, shepherds of the flock. Thanks! --Rezyk 23:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

1rr "another issue"

Guild Wars Wiki Talk:One-revert_rule#Another_issue Does my response here work for you, or do you think we need to discuss the matter further? Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 02:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Species category

Why are you removing grawl and charr articles from their species categories? - anja talk 15:28, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Against the Charr

Thanks for correcting the link to the Charr Siege Devourer page. I didn't know that existed, and when I clicked the link on the old version it took me to a different page about the foe siege devourer.
How can we get the correct info on how the quest is obtained? It is not obtained automatically upon entering Grothmar Wardowns, at least it isn't if you have done the quest before. You do not get it until you interact with the vanguard helmet. Is it possible to have that in the infobox, or should it go in the notes? Mohnzh 22:22, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

wtf

What was this about? -- Gem (gem / talk) 11:14, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Splitting Allegiance rank

Could you post your reason for suggesting a split at Talk:Allegiance rank? -- ab.er.rant sig 11:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I think he means into seperate Luxon and Kurzick articles. — Eloc 16:10, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I know what the split is for. I was asking for the why. -- ab.er.rant sig 02:51, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Stop the revert war, the ones in the -50 cesta quest are Monuments. Besides, Statue links to god's statues. This is a signpost, period.User Ereanor sig.jpgreanor 14:47, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Where in Guild Wars Wiki:Deletion policy does it say user talk pages are exempt?

It says except in cases where the user page bears an important message (such as a banned user warning) or the image is used on other pages which is not the case. Anon

Why?

Should my "beurocrat nomination" still be listed? It was a joke made by a friend of mine, and was not meant to be serious in any way. If you can remove the nomination that the IP posted, why can't remove a joke nomination? I'm hardly even a part of this wiki, anyway--MP47 (talk) 20:37, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

you just confirmed it is a joke. i think that qualifies it for removal. - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 20:42, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

RFC

Can I get your thoughts on the latest at Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:Blocking_policy#No_duration_cap? --Rezyk 19:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Auron's RFA

Your comment for opposing Auron's RFA was "I'll admit that personaly, I'd find it interesting to se Auron as a SysOp in our system. But for the wiki, no. Backsword 09:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)" <-- What exactly does that mean? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding where you're coming from. -- scourge 10:04, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I think he meant he's find it interesting, but he's still unfit for the job. — Eloc 00:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
As I see it (maybe I'm way off), he means that personally it'd be interesting to see how such an unorthodox worker such as Auron handled the power and tools given to SysOps, but this personal..entertainment, for lack of a better term, shouldn't come at the expense of the wiki, which may occur if Auron turn(ed)s into a horrible admin. Calortalk 00:19, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I think the opposing statement you wrote is misguided, as becoming a sysop will not mean he's working for arenanet at all. Also, I think you've added enough to the statement, just vote oppose and stop adding to it, it's only going to start problems. Also calling him a hypocrite is border-NPA, not like all of Auron's comments aren't borderline-NPA anyway, but that's another story. --Zinc 16:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I think you meant to post on Eloc's talk page, Zinc? - anja talk 16:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Ya, that's what I was thinking too. — Eloc 16:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Oops my bad, I dont know what happened there. Sorry about that Backsword. --Zinc 17:15, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Also, I didn't call him a hyprocrite, I said that would make him a hypocrite. There's a difference. — Eloc 17:21, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

List of Elite ele skills

Hey thanks for aplying that template. Would you mind telling me how to do that so that it is orginized by atribute? I cant seem to make it work. thx The noob monk 14:44, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

your sig

Why are you signing with indents? Are you responding to your own unsigned posts with a sig? It's confusing and unnecessary. — Skakid HoHoHo 02:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

It would look nice with a — though. =) — Skakid HoHoHo 02:58, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Since you apparently missed this the first time, I'll say it again. What the fuck do you think you're doing? --71.229.204.25 06:11, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain from breaking GWW's Revert policy. Another such offense, will result in administrative attention. Thanks! 68.35.91.2 06:18, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Read the the election page, votes from IP's are not allowed. It's as simple as that. (I'm not commenting on any revert policy breaches, I haven't looked into that) - anja talk 14:26, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
I believe the point was that the IP(iirc, that's Readem's IP) was the person who had been nominated for bureaucrat. And, generally, promoting someone to a position who doesn't want to be promoted is not a good idea. --Edru viransu 00:47, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Removal of comments

I've just checked the policy, and it says "General comments", the ones you removed weren't; they were reasoning behind the votes, and that is allowed. —Ebany Salmonderiel 12:42, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

But it says general comments, not votes, those were votes with reasoning behind them, what's against the policy in that? —Ebany Salmonderiel 11:32, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Please talk

Could we please resolve this before going revert war? - anja talk 13:36, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

=S, sometimes I wonder if Backsword ever check his User talk page. I don't think he's ever once replied here. — Eloc 16:43, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
He follows the (very wise) "If you ignore it, it goes away" policy. —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ 16:53, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
