[edit] Layout

The Isle of the Dead (Guild Hall) is reminiscent of the Catacombs in Pre-Searing Ascalon. Each base is reachable via a series of narrow hallways that then open up into a central area where there are bridges, an upper pathway and the flagstand.

[edit] Attackers Base

The attacker's base also mirrors the layout of the Guild Hall. To reach an opponent's base, there are two entrances, an upper entrance and a lower one. Both entrances lead to the central area where there's a flag stand across the shallow pool.

[edit] Flag Stand

The flag stand is located in the East side of the map, in the central area between the two bases. Each guild has a flag that spawns in their base. Taking the flag to the flag stand takes control of it. If a guild has retained control of the flag stand for 2 consecutive minutes, that guild will gain a 10% morale boost.

[edit] Gates

From the flag stand, there are two catwalk bridges that span across the pool, intersecting with the North-South upper pathway that connects between the bases. However, that pathway is blocked by two locked gates that must be opened from the base-side for each. The bridges lead to where one can operate the lever to open the gates from the opponent's side.

[edit] Environmental Effects

Not much is on this map but these two things can either make you or break you on winning the game.

  • Tar slows movement by 30%
  • Have control of the flag stand for 2 consecutive minutes, that guild will gain a 10% morale boost.

[edit] Overall

The Isle of the Dead map is also one of the more intricate maps. All paths lead out the front door but you can choose to take three different ways. The most direct is over a bridge on the top path. The problem, however, is that they can only be opened by triggering gate lock switches thus this path can not be used from the start. The second direction you can go is through the middle where the flag stand is located. The only problem here, however, is that you will be slowed by the tar surrounding it. The last path is the longest but the safest. Through here you can choose to cut across the middle and open the gate locks or you can continue your walk around the outer rim of the map and end up at the enemy guild keep.
