Zealous is a weapon mod that generates 1 energy every time you hit with an attack. It has the drawback of taking a permanent -1 energy regeneration.

[edit] Efficiency
A Zealous weapon typically generates more energy while fighting than would otherwise be generated by the lost regeneration. If you hit once per second, the equivalent of three arrows of energy regeneration are generated in place of the lost one. If you hit once every 1.5 seconds, energy gain equal to two arrows of energy regeneration are generated. If you hit only once every 3 seconds one arrow of energy regeneration is generated and the Zealous mod breaks even.
