"These are dark times. Those creatures have spread a vile corruption through Cantha, though they are not unfamiliar to us. We Zaishen have encountered them before. If only my brethren could be here to fight this menace... alas, we are locked in a bloody battle we do not dare turn our eyes from."

"Despite our prior encounter with this foe, we have been able to extract little useful information. They enter our space from a plane of existence beyond our own realm, driven by force of pure chaos and destruction."

"In the lands of Elona, there is a vast wasteland known as the Crystal Desert. My people, the Zaishen, have confronted these entities at the ancient Tomb of the Primeval Kings to destroy them where they enter our world. That they have been breached our plane at another location is grave, indeed."

During Dragon Festival from 2007 onward:

"*Sigh* How in the world I let my fellow Zaishen talk me into participating in these reenactments I have no idea... Well, let us get on with it.
