According to the official site: Update - Thursday, May 13, 2010 Krytan Happenings

Lion's Arch was the site of excitement this past week as Princess Salma arrived to claim the throne. With the Lionguard now committed to the aid of the restored royal line, the people of Kryta wait to see what forces the Ebon Vanguard will contribute and whether it will be enough to secure victory in this civil war.

Bug Fixes

   * Fixed a bug that caused Shining Blade allies to appear from odd locations.
   * Fixed a bug that prevented Lieutenant Thackeray from warning players about their full inventory.
   * Fixed a bug that prevented Necromancer Munne from warning players about their full inventory.

I was on around noon CST Thursday, May 14 and I'm pretty sure this wasn't pushed yet (I got a push at about 4:30CST when I logged in). If someone has time, please add the push to the main page. --Falseprophet 22:03, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

The wording has been updated, but nothing actually changed. 90.217.16.133 22:23, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks - I don't see Salma in LA :(

Mesmer got AoE :). Silverleaf Special:Contributions/SilverleafDon't assume, Know! 22:43, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
no no just a bug fix in tahlmark, and fixed the fast cast description, also Councilor Vaylors dialog in LA Keep was changed. Before he was talking about trading supplies, now he simply says "..." other than this I dont know. Just so happened I was talking to Vaylor when the update came. so hen I logged got the update and went back I noticed that right away.75.136.139.55 04:05, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
I dunno, I only just started using mesmer in "casual" PvP with 15 FC and 16 signet of illusions, and mostly 1 sec cast stuff. Now they nerf FC for that. What's so unbalanced about FC making 1 sec casts really fast? It's a trade off, you can still get shutdown with other stuff. When I used n/rt and e/rt in Aspenwood, they nerfed that (PVP Recuperation 75%, weapon of warding etc). Too bad for PvE the faster recharge is only for mesmer spells- and they're nerfing recharge times to "force" people to use FC. Anyone remember the days when necrosis was a spell- DPS :). Oh well. 60.48.224.111
It's almost impossible to interupt anything below 1 second, making at least 30% of all spell uninteruptable when they shouldn't be. It brings back some skill in the mesmers play. Seeing you use signet of illusions, you probably playing anything BUT mesmer. So in the essence nothing got nerfed and you're left with a mesmer that you actually need to take mesmer skills with, shocker.... >_> (Frizz 13:07, 22 May 2010 (UTC))

May 21 update[edit]

Mesmer skills are finally up, but I noticed a good deal of them are "increased recharge to 12", so's 12 is the special theme for today? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.81.251.162 (talk).

Oh yea, that makes so much sense. Bound every primary attribute to their class (good idea imo)... except for the ranger (seriously, wtf happened to logic :P) (Frizz 23:56, 21 May 2010 (UTC))
second not: nerf Wastrel's worry damage ASAP. I understand you want a play style, but everyone uses wastrel's worry to keep players on edge until they make a mistake. and take the damge. The damage being so high and the cost and recharge being so low, it's always worht to put in 15 energy in three consecutive wastrel's worry's as much as backfire. Because: people that use skills dont move dont make good decisions. I would suggest a skill that does damage over time for wastrel's worry. (Frizz 01:04, 22 May 2010 (UTC))
Wastrel's Worry only does its damage if you don't use a skill and most skills can either A) Help you kill a Mesmer or B) Help you stay alive while your teammates do. The only way for a Mesmer to truly ensure that Wastrel's takes its effect is to continually interrupt you, in which case his bar is pretty much dedicated to that task and he's weak to other forms of combat. If he does manage to keep you from activating any skills for, say, 9 seconds so that you and those in its AoE take 315 dmg total, that's not an overpowered Wastrel's -- that's a damn skilled Mesmer.--Ph03n1x 04:31, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Strange how ArenaNet went over the top on this one. Mesmers were already much stronger than eles in HM due to armor ignoring damage and aoe scatter behavior. This also negates the recent Rit channeling update. 1 step forward for channeling rits, 2-3 steps for mesmers.
Current Party Priority: Healers, SOS Rits, SS/MM Necros + Mesmers, <huge gap> random party fillers, Rangers. Eles in NORMAL are fine, in HM it's more like "Dude, are you going to kill that so we can move on soon, we're just waiting for you!" ...and don't get me started on Rangers. 95% of all pug rangers are good for stuff that requires BHA and little else. /Rant Off - Ander01 09:23, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
I disagree that they've surpassed the Rit update. Everywhere I go in PvE they're 'LF DwG' or 'Need SoS' or 'Prot Rit 2 Go' but only once or twice have I ever seen someone advertising for a Mesmer. It's still hard as hell for me to find a PUG even though I've been primarily Mesmer for years.--Ph03n1x 22:17, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
I never said SOS Rits were weaker than Mesmers as I've rated them just second to healers in my previous post. I've never had trouble getting into HM ZM parties as a Mesmer nor do I get kicked very often, unlike when I play as a Ranger or Elementalist where it happens fairly often. (Like every time the retarded PuG party leader forgets to add healers, first to go is Ranger, possibly Derv/Sin if there's no Ranger.) Just self invite yourself. Only reason many people doesn't shout "LF Mesmer" is because you can't assume Mesmers play a certain style unlike Rits, Necros and so on since the Mesmer toolset allows far more diversity, OR because they don't realize that Mesmers can put out at least 2-3x as much damage as an Ele especially against enemy groups who are spread out. - Ander01 10:21, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Does anybody else wish they would allow FC to apply for PvE non-mesmer spells <2s cast time? Casting PI, EVAS, EVSS, etc. at slow (i.e. normal) speeds feels so...plebian. The Duke of Silence 23:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

unsigned, if you read the fast casting update you will notice that every rank of it reduceds recharge by 3% making all mesmer skills at max fast casting spammable skills, which in my opinion is WHY the update needs to be retested from the perspective of other classes, there is no getting out from under hexes now, you can bring all the hex removal in the world but BECAUSE they now insta recharge, they reapply them pretty much instantly as well, Rogueonion 19:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

This is my first feedback, but I feel so strongly about what I'm going to say that I'll even send an email to ANet. To wit -- enemy Mesmers in PvE have become party-killers. Most noticeable in Hard Mode, especially with boosted Fast Casting attributes (curse you, level 30 creatures). Post-update, Eye of the North areas are much harder in Normal Mode and Hard Mode, and the Fissure of Woe (not sure about other end-game areas like the Underworld) has creatures like the Skeletal Ether Breaker that can solo a party and wipe it. Those seven pips of health regeneration allow them to tank, too; really, there's no more need for other classes except as body-blockers, as these Mesmers can tank an all-human-team's damage and still out-DPS Elementalists (curse you, Energy Surge). But most egregious in my opinion is the nerf of consumables, cheapening some hitherto high-end items; was it really in necessary to cap everyone else's skill-activation-time-decreases at 25%? Did play-testers fight against level 20+ Mesmers as anything other than Mesmers, themselves? To quote Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2003/7/7/): "To sum up I like your game, but it is very hard." P.S. Send Pocky. --Morgana1 15:06, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I have been saying all of this since day 1 of the update morgana, they dont care that they Indirectly nerfed other classes <especially those of the Melee persuasion> to buff mesmer, and you are opening yourself to ridicule here from all the mesmers that dislike our telling the truth about the flaws of this update But thank you for being brave enough to post here, because until SOMEONE says something they will refuse to even look at it. Rogueonion 18:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
PS Morgana, Do not bother emailing ANET as they will just send a rude email telling you that they do not care and are not responsible for their game. Rogueonion 19:01, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
A lot of Complaints from '1337' players lead up to this situation, Morgana... the most prevalent being that "Cons made HM a joke" and that most Mesmers didn't have a role anymore because of Celerities + Redrocks. The whole Mob +Regen change was just to kill off Sliver farming (which it did...) in those areas so if it's really a problem, pack along your own mesmer with these overly buffed Degen hexes that effing last forever. And I dont mean that as a long time mesmer player myself. I mean that in a forward-looking sense that the designers obviously want us to stay familiar with this playstyle for some reason b/c it's probably going to be a required role in GW2 as well ...and certainly a lot more likely to reappear than my poor Dervish or Paragon will given that they've chosen to save their updates for absolute last D: ...So yeh, get some experience on Mesmer, then once you do, you'll know what buttrapes them back (Dazing & other Conditions, their Etherfeast Dshotted/Diverted, Div/Deny-Hex-monks, unblockable pets, KD sins & bunnyway, etc etc...) --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 19:29, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
LoL Even ILR agrees, OVERLY BUFFED <thats a quote. Rogueonion 20:00, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh yea, I have said this elsewhere, I refuse to take mesmers in party considering the overbuffed status now, Sorry guys, I used to take mesmers all the time, now, your heads are just a bit far up your behinds now that you have this overpowered buff, EGO gets you nowhere. Rogueonion 21:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok so I just took my war out to TRY and catch up on the WiK stuff, and I go and change ALL my builds on me AND all my hero's, I added the divert/deny monk, I made gwen esurge, I added an mm, and guess what? One mesmer. Empathy, I am the first down, BECAUSE I cannot attack, That is all it took to party wipe me over and over and over and over on hard mode, Rogueonion 05:27, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
LOL omg I cannot even get my war into a put because of the mesmer updates HA. now thats HILARIOUS. Rogueonion 07:57, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Good Job on B.Surge, B.Flash and SW![edit]

moved from Talk:Game updates

Meleers can actually stand a chance vs BSurge/BFlash lamers, and Mending Touch is actually a worthy enough candidate now. SW was nerfed a bit hard, but it's better than leaving it OPd anyhow... so GJ! Less face-rolling is good for the overall gameplay in PvP. --Ulterion 20:38, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Bsurge isn't any less overpowered, a small nerf to a skill that shouldn't exist isn't a good job >.> -- Tha Reckoning 20:46, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Nerf isn't really the right word, tweak, I should say. -- Tha Reckoning 08:53, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't exist? It just both applies blindness and deals damage. Why is that bad? It's an elite, for Grenth's sake. Most elites are like two other skills combined, with a little extra, such as less energy cost, less recharge, etc... and everybody knows that only those that are as smart as a minion flock together in PvP, so most players don't do that, you keep your distance from your teammates so skills with AoE do not affect you so much. So it affecting also adjacent allies it's not a big deal. Now, even before the change, it only takes what? 1/4 of a second to remove blindness? If you see the difference between the recharge and the duration of blindness, and you remove blindness just after receiving it, you have all that time until this can be cast again to attack. All you have to do is bothering with some condition removal. Blindness is only unfair against a warrior in 1vs1, and in 1vs1, elementalists are supposed to beat warriors easily. That's why we don't have 1vs1 in GW, because i would be just about your luck on what your next opponent would be, you enter with minions, you get a smiter, you are screwed. You enter elementalist, you get an interrupt ranger, though luck, you enter warrior, you get an elementalist, good bye. That's how GW is supposed to be. You get a hint to that in the Crystal Desert profession quests:
  • As a warrior, you have to defeat a ranger.
  • As a mesmer, you have to defeat an elementalist.
  • As an elementalist, you are asked to take care of a warrior.
  • The necromancer must beat a monk, and vice-versa.
  • And the ranger is asked to defeat a mesmer.
That is not random, neither set on stone, it's not like each of those professions exists to defeat the other, but just an example on how a certain build is more suited against another, and how certain professions are more likely to beat others. I kill around 80% of the warriors that face me separated from the rest of our parties in PvP, and 95% of that time, I'm using a simple fire build, no blindness gimmicks, probably because they went for me thinking I would be 'squishy' when no such think exists in GW, and they didn't even bothered on equipping the insignia that increases elemental armor. And that's why you need a team, to make up for what you lack. If you are a warrior and see an elementalists that has defeated you before in that match, go for another target, and let your other party members take care of him. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 13:00, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
"Elite" doesn't mean "so overpowered that it removes whole classes for entire matches". The point being that it's a low cost, low recharge skill that makes the game 3v4 or 6v8 or whatever the case may be. Imagine a ranged signet that had the effect of blackout on a caster, without putting your skills on recharge, with no cooldown. Oh yeah, and it makes their energy pips go to zero. That would be an equivalent of bsurge that a warrior could carry. If a warrior spammed that on you, would it be fairly balanced? You may not be using blindness gimmicks, but odds are you're using a fire gimmick anyway. Eles with unlimited energy are overpowered, too. Don't counter with random stuff like that. Classes aren't predetermined to defeat other classes, they each have a role to fill, the roles used to be different, now each of them is damage damage damage. You shouldn't base your observations on shoddy pve quests, because GW is not meant to be "oshit that team has an ele, I'm a warrior, gg". 1v1 has never been a determinant of anything, the pvp in this game is team based. And the whole "condition removals exist so bsurge is balanced" is so zzz that I don't think I need to address it. Bottom line, a skill that can shutdown classes permanently, with little or no cost to the user, is overpowered. -- Tha Reckoning 16:53, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Agrees with Reckoning, this also should go for classes, not just skills, a class that completely eliminates the need for another class, is a bad thing, this IS my point in the other conversation's regarding the mesmer update. Rogueonion 19:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Bot problem still on[edit]

Honestly they didnt do anything with bots? That issue shouldnt even be needed to be pulled out, it should be do dealed with long time ago, Its ridiculous they nerfed the ways of farming, dunegons, 600, perma, for normal people and now they just let just bots farm the crap out of pve and pvp. Degen hate?[edit]

with or without a self heal or hex removal most players come across having just one skill casted upon them such as conjure nightmare and backfire...to endure no hex removal is done...in JQ or ra sometimes this is a problem. most mesmers /casters just cast a degen then run away ensuring a definite kill as rangers warriors or etc cant defend against this. any chance there will be a change to main degeneration for pvp? most players are also asking to have mesmers toned down a bit in pvp considering they were already once powerful...now they are overpowered. just listen in on JQ all chat and Heros Ascent observe...98.88.23.253 19:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
