Core Quest
Wouldn't the quest to obtain him have to be a core quest available in all capital cities due to EotN not being required to qualify for him? My guess is it will work like some of the quests in EotN which take you to areas in Prophecies, even if you don't own the campaign. 122.104.161.96 19:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
The original link showed Guild Wars: The Complete Collection as covering Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and GW:EN. Putting a quest in the core outposts would certainly make a degree of sense, although since golems are originally from GW:EN it would seem a little out of place in my mind, but then so are most things, lol Lady Elyssa 19:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- I doubt the possibility of reaching the location is the problematic point; it will just be some kind of message saying that you won't get him if you don't own all campaigns. poke | talk 20:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

- There is an interview with Izzy on one of the NC Soft websites where he says in the coming months the Guild Wars live team will be adding some new stuff to the game like quests. He said a lot of it will try to tie in with the coming of GW2, which makes a lot of sense. We get new content and they slowly work in the lore and story features to peak our interest in GW2. Tyria is a little too static atm, not enough cross over. It makes perfect sense for the recently surfaces Asura to cross over to the other places in Tyria and the golem could be a nice way to encourage more people to buy GW2. Not dumb or an oversight, just trying to connect the dots. 122.104.161.96 20:24, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- im guessing (and hoping), since only places like FoW and UW are in prop, factions and NF only: such a place will be added for dwayna, melandru and lyssa, where u need to clear them all once (or something) to obtain him. or just 1, idk --InfestedHydralisk 20:40, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- That would be one of the biggest updates ever for a game the size of Guild Wars considering the context. Lower your expectation to something similair to the Luxon/Kurzick quests prior to the Factions release. One small quest with a decent sized reward. M.O.X, Razah, and perhaps Livia for GW2
I read the above post by 122.104.161.96 ... "the Guild Wars live team will be adding some new stuff to the game like quests. [They] said a lot of it will try to tie in with the coming of GW2" ... and it got me thinking. Since golems don't have a lifespan (i assume, i might have missed that detail in GW:EN), what if one of our HoM rewards to be unlocked in GW2 is M.O.X, the super duper golem that aided your ancestors? Imagine stepping into the glorious room, sealed off for hundreds of years, to take up the powerful weapons and etc. of your ancestors and reap the benefits of their heroic deeds. And there to greet you is the age-old golem M.O.X, waiting to be reactivated to serve again.
And then we have Razah, a being (immortal? long lifespan?) created by The Mists themselves. I would be jumping off the walls if I encountered Razah, perhaps more bad-ass and experienced than he ever expected to become (he looks like Solid Snake a bit too).
And finally Livia! She is certaintly human and can't live until GW2 (at least that's what is assumed), but what if her quest to be Kryta's dark champion goes along a path similar to Khilbron? Could finding the Sceptor of Orr (or whatever kind of staff it is) and trying to use it lead her on a path to becoming either a lichess or a master over reality (the wiki articles for Scepter of Orr and Staff of the Mists describe them as being tools for controlling the ethereal and controlling reality respectively)?
BTW, on a more MOX related note, I see alot of people complaining that our "ultimate magic mechanized party protection" hero is ":( just a dervish /collectdust". Giving a machine the ability to channel the powers of the gods through itself seems like pretty high-tier, "ultimate" magic to me. And I'm willing to bet MOX is the product of that one Asuran's research into deciphering the essence of the gods or whatever.
TL;DR I can't wait for this update. MOX Plz, David Hayter for Razah voice actor in GW2 plz. 68.193.113.198 20:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

- Very cool idea, I could totally see MOX in GW2 like that, but as for the others, I don't see it. It is a very good posibility that the reason MOX was added was for just this idea, giving us a hero that will trancend time between games because golems are constructed. - M.O.X., yes. He’s a golem, it just makes sense. Certainly, of all the options, he’s the one most likely to be waiting around in the Hall of Heroes for us.

- Razah, yes. He’s a creature of the mist, made from the same stuff as demons but with a different mindset. So there is no reason for him not to be still around in Guild Wars 2. Not as likely as M.O.X. to be just waiting for your descendant in the Hall of Monuments.
- Livia, maybe. She’s mortal, she’s human, but she’s after the Staff of Orr. There is always a chance that one needs to be ethereal in some form in order to control the staff’s full power. There is certainly a high chance we’ll encounter her as a lich or ghost at some point, just not in the Hall of Monuments.
- I would also like to add the following.
- Ogden Stonehealer. He didn’t undergo the rite right away, but there is always this feeling that he is just putting it off. He certainly won’t be in the Hall of Monuments, but he might still be alive somewhere in Guild Wars 2. Thing is, he is more likely to change then even Livia as a lich, given the mental changes the dwarves undergo with the rite.--Ryan Galen 22:10, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Ahh yeah, the dwarves. Another tale of bad-assery, living weapons made of stone!
Also i wasn't nominating anyone except MOX for a HoM encounter, Razah may be off making a name for himself once his friends (you) die, and Livia as a lich/super reality controller lady will most likely be disconnected from your legacy and doing her own thing.
I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing MOXs forms and the plot of the quest (if there even is one). I was on the edge of my seat through the whole god deciphering quest line in Asura land, only to be disappointed with an odd-looking staff and a "please buy GW2" cliff-hanger :(
I await the return of seeing where Livia's ending left off, I feel she'll DEFINETLY return as a major Antagonist (In Lich form perhaps?), unknowingly being corrupted with the potential power and presensce (spelling?) of Orr and creating a new evil because of it. Conditions
I'm curious to find out if he will not transfer the disease condition to humans or others, the way that Vekk, Zhed, and the others don't. Also, as a comment – it's too bad that he isn't immune to conditions as Golems normally are. He's PvE-only, he may as well be. Woop ‧ talk ‧ 23:58, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- That would make him a better choice to bring than Melonni or Kahmu in any and all situations, period. This is what they're trying to avoid. The reason he's not allowed in PvP is for the same reason: his size and lack of weapon model would make him a better choice to bring into a match than any other hero. --Valentein 00:16, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well it's PvE-only for this hero. I don't know why they would avoid having him be more preferable than Melonni and Khamu. Melonni doesn't cry no matter how many times I choose Khamu over her. Do you think they don't want to make him ignore conditions like other Golems do in order to make you NOT prefer him over the other two? Maybe they're just afraid of every group having 3 giant golems? I'm fine with it, I've never seen slightly false advertising before (apart from when Ursan was introduced before balance totally going against the whole "skill required" and that's past tense xD), to be honest I don't use Avatar's on my Dervish heroes anyway, far to much downtime in-between pwnage no? - Because the clockwork scythe is a really rare skin, so if everybody's Mox got a max one, over several chars on an account..etc, everybody would have one. However, considering you can't even see Mox's weapon, I'm confused why the gave him such an awesome skin. Briareus 20:07, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Unbalancing PvE story arc
Anyone else feels that being able to get M.O.X at level 10 right outside Kamadan makes the Istan area insanely easy for a new PC? Granted, one may invite 20ish PCs in a party, but I just can't help but feel that M.O.X is out of place here. Lloeki 16:17, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- The same issue is present in Prophecies, the henchmen don't catch up to M.O.X.'s level until Dragon's Lair. -- Gordon Ecker 09:18, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
With M.O.X. and the new fire imp thingy, theyve made all begginers PvE easy --Xilarth The Wise 17:43, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- And with the imp LDoA should be a joke now. Thx for killing one of the last hard titles. — Seru Talk 18:09, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- While I never had any interest in LDoA and thus may not be up on what it takes, how does the imp help with that? Isn't LDoA about death leveling which is about an enormous amount of afk which the imp doesn't really help with? -- Inspired to ____ 20:43, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, so after 8 hours death leveling whatever, now it only takes 1 min. to kill instead of 2 min. Or, even better, you can finally go take a much needed nap while the imp spends 2 min. killing them for you...lol! -- Inspired to ____ 03:28, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- You've got to put it the fact it cuts down the time needed for solo runs as well. — Seru Talk 03:36, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I didn't really understand your point about the solo runs in pre. Anyway, I doubt whether there are many people going...I need to go for LDoA now because of the imp, but if there are, then I'm happy for them (and I hope they make it before dying of boredom). -- Inspired to ____ 03:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- The solo runs are the Charr boss runs, before your character is level 16 (and therefore is still getting experience from killing the bosses). Depending on profession and player skill, the solo runs can be difficult when you're a lower level player. The Fire Imp makes this part of the LDoA acquisition much easier. --Nkuvu 19:37, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Keep in mind the real purpose behind ArenaNet adding this kind of content. It's to stimulate continued sales, nothing more. Of course those of us who have been playing for a long time see this as making it all too easy, where Anet sees it as a way to say... if you start now, you don't have to spend weeks/months catching up... we've given you new tools/toys. Also, by requiring purchase from the online store, people will still be paying the premium price for the games, since most retail availability is much cheaper. -- Wyn 19:43, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, a character in Lion's Arch with Nightfall can recruit four level 15 heroes through Battle Preparations at any level, and a level 10+ character in Lion's Arch with Eye of the North can recruit Ogden and Vekk. -- Gordon Ecker 01:01, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

M.O.X. Special Forms
Has anyone else managed to see or use any or all of these yet? Have only seen the green form so far and was wondering if the form is related to the class of the character it is associated to? Hence Green for Necro... Lady Elyssa 20:30, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Just making it clear that I've tested this on one of my accounts...and using a trial key-- although it unlocks access to all 3 campaigns temporarily-- will not help unlock M.O.X.-- 72.147.95.253 03:47, 8 September 2008 (UTC) (Shewmake on the GW2 Wiki)

Wjhy does it say 10-70 (depends on leve) when the only level MOX is available in is 20--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:86.143.99.0 (talk).

- The Golem itself is magic and mechanised - I don't eventhink the quote is anything to do with profession. And as I've said before, it's a marketing tagline anyway. – josəph 12:09, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Is there an icon for M.O.X. like for other heroes. For example: http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Image:Koss-icon.jpg&redirect=no (Limu Tolkki - talk) 22:39, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
