Frog[edit]
- → moved from User Talk:Gaile Gray
Hi Gaile. Could you please supply us with a screenshot of the inventory icon and a screenshot of him in use. Or instead of the second screenshot a render from Emily. Thank you very much, and good luck in your new position! -- (gem / talk) 10:44, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh yes I want to see your great new "unique" minipet! -- (Elder / talk) 16:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Lemming64 created a page for the Frog Miniature. I'm thrilled, as you can imagine and thank you for asking about my amphibian buddy. There's actually a bit more to learn about him, but not yet. :) Thanks to Lemming for putting up the page. He's a cute little rascal, ain't he? (That's The Frog mini, btw. Don't have a clue about Lemming! ;p ) -- Gaile 23:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

- I'd say he's pretty cute too. :P Lord Belar 00:54, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

- Oh, dang, now we really need a lemming miniature -- that guy is really cute! (That would be the animal, not Lemming, again. :) ) -- Gaile 02:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hmmm, don't know if Regina is into furry little sidekicks :) --Arduinna 07:01, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank's Gaile and Lemming. :) I think it was a great present from the dev team. -- (gem / talk) 07:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

- Well, 122 and DS, in answer to your questions, no, and no again. I would actually say that, if "uniqueness" had degrees, then the bit more yet to learn about the Miniature Frog would make him even more unique, not less. *smiles mysteriously* -- Gaile 17:23, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[reset indent] Arghhh why must GW's birthday be 2 weeks away! I am so excited! It just feels like if I asked you guys "what's planned for this year" I would get one of the queer smiles that imply "oh, wouldn't you like to know" and then Andy Garcia appears in front of the Bellagio and waves his hands in showmanship fashion "oh what treasures you will see." Then I wake up... ... I took that a bit far I think. /scamper --Ravious 18:03, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nah, enthusiasm is a good thing! I'm looking forward to the birthday, too! :) -- Gaile 18:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Crazy that Guild Wars is three years old...Still remember my first adventures in Pre...and refund points...and original tombs..aaaah the good old days =D-Warior Kronos 02:42, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Skill gems, anyone? :D -- Gaile 17:23, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Deleting characters because you didn't like their secondary professions and weren't aware that you could change them later... getting horribly, hopelessly lost in the Catacombs... getting ganked by mobs of 4 Charr... Ah, the good old days... :) -- Elv 17:44, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Skill gems were a bit before my time, but of course who could forget the catacomb adventures...I got lost for 1.5 hours in there =D. And I remember back when you could play as a W/R, spreading all your attribute points across sword mastery, marksmanship, wilderness survival, beast mastery, tactics, and strength, while using a sword and a bow, and noone would care...Now if you don't use Ursan you're kicked from the group xD-Warior Kronos 23:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I know the uniqueness!! when u use the Mini Frog you get a full bag of 250 ecto's XD -- The Warrior Of Timi 18:45, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Mini Lemming has my vote! Can we have mini lemmings for the next birthday pretty please? :D Yu Takami 20:05, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Warior of Timi, he comes with no bonuses like ecto generation, I'm sorry to say. Well, actually, that's good from a game economy sense. However, I will say that Froggie comes with his own benefits, for there's something extra fun about traveling through an explorable area or taking on a mission with the little green guy sproinging along behind! -- Gaile 01:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Gaile, would you be willing to post some photos of your adventure with the froggie? Would love to see it in action, or at least you and it jumping around carelessly while bloody battles happen around him. Renin 04:13, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Awesome gift from your cronies, Gaile. They should make you some unique 'boss' armor too that glows. :P Actually, that would be neat for any staff member that has an ingame "chat character" to go along with the green GM overhead. Easy to spot 'em that way. Clobimon Craiggy 16:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- She's DND 24/7 anyway why would she want to be easily spotted :P--Ʀєʟʟɑ 00:11, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
HoM[edit]
Even if Gaile is going to visit the Eye of the North and dedicate The Frog (what is unlikely as she wants her ranger to stay level 7 afaik), this miniature would still be priceless. (Having a dedicated Frog in the HoM anyways - idk if Anet would even have an accordant stone miniature model for it) —ZerphaThe Improver 18:22, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- The miniatures that are displayed at the monument share the same textures as the mini's ingame, so that shouldn't be a problem. Methinks you are confused with the Fellowship monument. Yet I agree this mini being priceless, because this mini truly is one of its kind. Unless Gaile starts duping the mini and sell a bunch for fat loot....(did I say that out loud? :S) --Arduinna 23:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- As we're playing GW and not D2, i doubt that Gaile would be able to dupe them anyways. ;) —ZerphaThe Improver 20:30, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- so U don't liek remember the times of duping? -- nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 18:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- i actually never played D2, always only watched my friends playing it. But right now you mention it, it was quite fun watching the ist runes of them poofing. The best thing i can remember was the following: My friend showed something to another guy in the trade window, then that guy did not offer what he demanded, so my friend declined the trading session, and he traded his offer to him, though. xD I have the feeling D2 is somehow orphaned, especially as they already announced D3 for years.^^ (yet i don't think this is the right place to discuss that) —ZerphaThe Improver 18:51, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, let me explain (to the best of my knowledge) for anyone who may have missed it. For a brief period, it was possible to go outside of a town with a friend, open trade with them, put an item in trade, both sides hit submit, then you hit accept (your friend doesn 't accept yet). Then, you unplug your router causing an err7. Once you're errored out, the other guy hits accept. Now he has the item you put in trade, but when you log back in, you still have the item too. The item has been duplicated. People were doing this with the highly valuable Armbrace of Truth for profit beyond belief. You don't have to do this with just one item at a time either, you can duplicate as many as can fit in trade every session. I might have the details wrong, but for the most part that's how duping worked for the brief period before it was patched. VegaObscura 21:40, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, never heard of this... but now i remeber something like this about crafting material traders. Well, but unlike D2, using such exploits will result in an account ban, so you won't get much profit from it :P —ZerphaThe Improver 12:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeh i remember when that was happening, ambraces were all over the place. However Anet found out and banned everyone they could find doing it. -- Salome 12:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Price tag[edit]
Anyone dare to put a price tag on this one? Lightblade 22:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Kind of a moot point. It will never be sold. --Lemming 22:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- kinda a good debate idea. My tag: Ferrari Enzo. -- nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 22:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I/d put maybe 28 mini kanaxi, 3000 stacks of armbrace (yea, thats right... duped armbraces still exist :() And i'd throw on 100 panda's, maybe 50 vizu and of course, 100platinum. :D —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.195.135.159 (talk • contribs) at 15:27, April 27, 2008 (UTC).
- And a dozen ectos for the sake of it. Calor 15:29, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- One question though, this could just be because ive never seen his croakiness in person but....isnt the minature about the same size as the real thing?--Raph Talky 22:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- When I saw the frog, I think he was a tad bit smaller then the "real" frog. but dang, he can jump high when he's movin' around! :P -- Wandering Traveler 22:38, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

- I don't understand the question. Could The Frog have shrunk? I mean, he's Froggie, how would he be smaller? (Ok, I see: Jenny Craig for Amphibians. The South Beach (of Lion's Arch) Diet. :) )
- But yes, his leap is amazing, and his follow-along hopping is just adorable! -- Gaile 23:29, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- how about just 1 polar bear, 1 kanxai, a panda, and a few plat?
- huh...gaile...can we get a confirmation?--Raph Talky 22:40, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey Gaile, is it true th\t you were trying to sell the frog? One of my guildies said you were trying to sell THE AMAZING FROGGY for 100 ectos in Team arenas (or some PvP outpost). Is this rumour true? --Burning Freebies 19:46, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Without knowing about anything, my answer is: Obviously not. btw, that's the wrong place to ask questions to gaile, use her talk page instead —ZerphaThe Improver 20:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Layout[edit]
The layout of this page is screwed up, i tried fixing it but it seems to be protected. Can someone fix it a bit --MageMontu 09:35, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- The problem isn't with this page. It's something to do with the item infobox template, specifically the render parameter. If you go to the other minis that have renders, you'll see they're similarly messed up. - Tanetris 09:46, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
And I quote: "- a bit more to learn about him"[edit]
If I do not remember incorrectly Gaile said something about a subtext under "The Frog" (when you move your mouse over the "inventory version") during her stay at the Dragon Festival 2008. Something like; "With you, always it is." - and telling how cute she thought that was (yes indeed Gaile!;). I thought that maybe more people caught that up and added it to wiki, but it seems not. I can not remember her exact words and forgot to screen it, so if anyone can confirm this?
And also I thought she used the words: "beneath the gold text The Frog". This I'm very unsure of, I didn't put to much thought in it at the moment, but began to wonder now: do we know for a fact that The Frog is a green miniature? or well, A "green green miniature" that is ;P -- Titus The Third 07:28, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- It is definitely a green miniature, I have seen it in a trade window to capture the inventory icon. --Lemming 16:09, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- At the risk of sounding all mysterious and cryptic -- or maybe in aid of it ;) -- the "more to learn" about The Frog Miniature (TFM) has nothing to do with the dedication text. But by way of info on that: His name -- The Frog -- is in Green, for he is a green (unique) miniature and come to think of it he is, in fact, green in colour so it's nice how that all worked out. The message -- the dedication from the team -- is in gold, and reads "With you always, he is." Which I think is incredibly sweet. (I believe that Lemming will be able to add a screenshot of that; he kindly asked me if it was ok and I'm fine with it.)
- I spoke with The Frog about this, and this was his answer, "This mysterious thing called 'more to learn' about The Frog's personification has not yet been learned. That is shall be learned, someday, The Frog is certain."
- I guess y'all can make of that what you will. :) -- Gaile 20:13, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Aye I will add it in as soon as my main computer has stopped being weird. Am on a laptop at the mo and the screenie isn't on here, plus I dread to do much more than type.... --Lemming 21:39, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Maybe the Frog will make an appearance in GW2 somewhere and that is what she is talking about. The One To Fear--71.58.173.149 12:52, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, it has been over a decade. What is this 'extra' to learn? When was the last time anyone has even *seen* Gaile? I question The Frogs certainty on the matter.. 24.49.195.116 10:21, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Is the mini actually tradable between accounts? Not that you ever would :3 Just curious if its locked to you or if you can move it :)(Eeep i kinda feel like im spying)--Nataliexxx 22:01, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
