How's that work for you? --> A F K When Needed 19:54, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think that's enough, since I removed CA's notice. It's still way too similar to the system message. - anja 19:56, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Do we at last have an accord? --> A F K When Needed 20:06, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- You are trying to emulate a system message to link to an outside site. I'd say no. --JonTheMon 20:07, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Mousing over the links reveals where the links point to. As does bothering to read the message. Do you really think that you could mistake that for the actual message? --> A F K When Needed 20:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'm ok with how it is now. It's obvious it's something else. - anja 20:12, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

- Well, thank you Anja. Thank you too, Jon, though I'm not entirely sure what question you thought you were answering, but we all have "special" moments from time to time =) --> A F K When Needed 20:19, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Rick rolling is not offensive or insultive, the problem is that if we allow people to spoof system messages then someone's going to link one to a hacksite. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.209.90 (talk).

Do not include any material generally deemed offensive and insulting. how is rickrolling offensive or insulting? --Cursed Angel 20:38, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's the combination of an URL which gives no clue to what it is, and faking a system message. Not the rickroll per se. - anja 21:02, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Smouch.net is commonly known for being a rickroll. I can follow odd looking links like that knowing that a link to a hacksite is almost never put on the wiki, and even if one is, it doesn't stick around for long. AGF anyone? — Jon Lupen 21:06, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Assuming good faith doesn't really work when you know that another person is acting in bad faith. Rickrolling by mimicking a system message, with the same text and appearance? Bad faith. Also, there's such a thing as discussion and consensus - something doesn't have to be in policy to be "bad". -- Brains12 \ talk 21:23, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just to keep things clear, is there a problem with AFK's banner in it's current state? That is eaily distinguishable now, but I see where your comming from reguarding Cursed Angle's banner. I ment AGF as in knowing that by following a link on someone's page, you won't be going to some destructive or malicious hacksite. — Jon Lupen 21:31, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- We've kinda got this discussion spread across 4 user pages at the moment, but the general consensus is that this isn't allowed, CA's refusal to accept this is really by the by. It's a shame as I much prefer people to reach an agreement, however sometimes thats just not gonna happen. Also really 1RR breaches and general asshattery for the sake of it is never a good idea. As for A F K's banner, I personally see nothing wrong with it now. -- Salome 21:34, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think we might haven sent the wrong message to CA though. I think he thought he wasn't allowed to have his banner because he was rickrolling people, or making them think they where following bad links. — Jon Lupen 21:38, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see how. I wasn't the least bit ambiguous.
- There are literally infinite ways to display a banner on a userpage, and even more ways to trick people into clicking links. The fact that some users can't find any of those and instead resort to copying a legitimate system message concerns me. -Auron >8< 22:12, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I must have missed that, my speed reading fails at times :P — Jon Lupen 22:20, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Anja I reverted Auron here, as he is ignoring everyone else involved and trying to please himself. If you disagree with my actions, please let me know, and I'll do my best to rectify them. Thank you. This is not requesting the response of an IP, btw, feel free to GTFO, troll. --> A F K When Needed 18:24, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- I neither agree or disagree with Auron, but if he thinks the color is too similar, I wont argue against him. I trust his judgment. :) - anja 19:02, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Our God Is A Consuming [FIRE] Guild Page[edit]
Hey there, I know that my guild was not properly named in the wiki here, and I am trying my best to make sure that I follow GWW rules. [FIRE] is our tag, but it is kinda part of the name. I cannot have it just named "Our God Is A Consuming". It is missing the last part of the name. Any suggestions? Can I just call the guild "Our God Is A Consuming Fire" in the naming of the page and in the alliance listing? I didn't want to edit it again, since you changed it back, and wanted to make sure I stayed within GWW rules. Thanks in advance. - † Lord Xivor † 18:28, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Our rule is to keep the guild page on its in-game name, which is without the tag. This is because of the links from the help menu in game, so they will point to the right place. If you don't have your page at "Our God Is A Consuming", no one can reach it from the link in the help menu. Also, it is possible for another guild to register the name "Our God Is A Consuming Fire", which is another reason we want to keep the real in-game name. Avoiding naming conflicts. I hope that explains why it should stay at its current name :) - anja 18:33, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Many guilds use their tag in this fashion, but there is no way around the page naming. -- Wyn 20:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- What if they used "Our God Is A Consuming" as a redirect, and used the "Our God Is A Consuming (FIRE)" page as the main guild page... Would that be a violation of the rules?? I noticed it said in there if there were duplicate names the guild's tag could be added behind it.... Can we kinda bend that rule to work in our favor here?? Or is that a no go? -Ë×ţřεмəόήє 21:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Redirects to guild pages are not allowed. They simply have to live with their page being named their guild name as it appears in game without the TAG. -- Wyn 21:15, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Bah... Oh well.... Can't say that I didn't try.... -Ë×ţřεмəόήє 21:16, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- After further research, it appears as though guild pages CAN have redirects... http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&ns100=1&ns101=1&redirs=1&search=redirect&fulltext=Advanced+search Unless all of those are illegally placed there??? Or you misunderstood what I was trying to say??? -Ë×ţřεмəόήє 21:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Those are alliance issues that have been asked to change, and will be asked again, or will be deleted. The policy requires that guild pages are named exactly how they appear in game (without the tag)-- Wyn 21:22, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

- Though it is not the answer I wanted to hear, it clearly is the only option I have. Kinda upsetting, because it messes everything up, but nothing I can do. I was unaware that guilds were linked through the in-game help. That is interesting. Thanks for the quick response! - † Lord Xivor † 04:24, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Credits?[edit]
I'm designing a new userpage, and it uses a few ideas from one of your old userpages; do you want any credit for that? — Ebany 19:51, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Never mind; just noticed that your page layout came from Bex. Going to ask her instead. — Ebany 17:40, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Game update notes[edit]
Hi, I did bring it up on the talk page before editing the note on RoJ. Also, I've only made one revert, other than the initial edit, so I don't believe 1RR would come into it yet. -- Hong 09:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't mean to say you violated the policy, just wanted to remind you of its existence. Also, from now on it would be more productive to not edit the article until we can agree what is the case :) - anja 09:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Template[edit]
Anja how do i create a template to my page ( Nemis troy 14:44, 23 September 2009 (UTC) )
- It depends on what you want it to do, but basically you create a page like User:Nemis troy/Template name and include on your main user page with {{User:Nemis troy/Template name}}. - anja 19:24, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Sysop rights cleanup[edit]
Hello, I appreciate you've been inactive for a fair while, but on the odd chance you've still got your talk page watchlisted/notifications enabled, I thought out of courtesy I would leave a message (admittedly I'm going to copy-paste the same message for all affected users). (1) We're going through a bit of a review of which inactive users have sysop rights (including reconfirmation), and (2) here's a link to yours: Guild Wars Wiki:Requests for adminship/Anja Astor. -Chieftain Alex 19:01, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
