Happy C Day
While technically, I'm a day or so late, Happy Canada Day Gaile, and a happy 4th of July. :D - File:Drago-sig.gif Drago 07:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC) (It's really hard to find the ~ key at 2am. T.T)
- Thanks, Drago! I asked our Canadian co-worker, Curtis, when Canada Day was. He said he didn't remember. ;) I have bought a huge number of fireworks of all kinds, and will be blowing up the neighborhood tomorrow night. I mean blowing them up in the neighborhood tomorrow night. :D --Gaile 18:51, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Mini-Pets
Hi Gaile! I read on your page that you are collecting mini-pets. I have some minis that I need to get rid of, if you want them just tell me. My in game name is "Black Hawk Archer". Idk if there is any way I can get it to you without "disturbing" you in game. But I'm not going to give it to anyone except for the Gaile Gray character. (safety precaution in-case anyone else reading this gets a wise idea :P)Let me know if you want any!Blackie 00:08, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- That's an incredibly kind offer, Blackie. Let me figure out how that might work -- it's sort of complicated because that girl is my visiting girl and I would feel bad if I just gave everyone the cold shoulder while I was accepting your gift. :D --Gaile 00:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
free burning titan mini to the 1st person who replies from Gaile's incgamers acct... =P not much of a mini collector and got my 2nd. (Saw she still wanted 1 and her bdays soon so y not (Leo's Rule))--Midnight08 07:43, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Wow! I'm star-struck! I really hope you enjoy the minis Gaile. =D Blackie ewilson92 01:18, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

- That was why in my offer I said ... I think she has one but if not I would give her one. Because I did not know... her pet list is not complete on her user page :) Chik En 18:36, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oooh, embarrassed! I didn't see the kind offer, Chik En. Thank you, but I do have an Asura. It's really nice of you to offer me one, though. :) Which reminds me I need to spiff up my page -- some of my critters are missing! --Gaile 16:05, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Your input needed
Please take a look at this discussion and give us your thoughts there. As Community Relations Manager, I'd like to know what you think. --Karlos 21:39, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- My input is really not needed. You have already received an answer that I feel was more than adequate. I understand your position, but I disagree with it. Please allow me to explain: I believe--all of us at ArenaNet believe--in recognizing good players. We achieve that, in part, through the Scribe's Random Acts of Kindness program. As the CRM, I know this program has far-reaching and positive outcomes beyond a simple nod to a specific player. Now, if you suggest we should exclude people simply by virtue of their guild affiliation, my answer is "No, we will not do that." These players are not being recognized because of their affiliation. They are being recognized for doing something nice within the game, spotted by an anonymous observer who could be any member of the Guild Wars team and not then put through a disqualification grid because to do so would be unkind, unnecessary, and counterproductive to the program.
- You seem to be saying "This group of players should never be recognized because they belong to (this guild) or (that alliance) or (that tournament team)." But is that not discrimination, exclusion, and bias? And where would that end? I've been to Taipei, and Leipzig, and various other player events. Should I recuse myself from relaying players of note because I may have met them at one time or another? If Emily notes someone doing something great in the game and sends over the alert, should we say "Oh, sorry, we recognize that character name -- that's a wiki member and we do not call out anyone on the wiki?" How fine-grained should we be? Or should we judge solely on the good act, the notable kindness, the generous offer, or the extraordinary support? I want to build bridges, not build bars. I want to include, not exclude.
- Andrew Patrick is a member of my team. He has my full support in the operation of the program and I trust and value his judgment on the selections made for the Random Acts of Kindness. --Gaile 23:30, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah dude, just because he is acquainted with the guy, doesn't mean he can't still be kind. Besides, If I'm not mistaken, ZoS supports and urges kindness in the game. If anything, people in ZoS should be MORE eligible for RAoK.Blackie ewilson92 23:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I am not sure I said anyone should be excluded. I just said that basic full disclosure ettiquettes would suggest that he say that this user IS from his guild. I never said they should not be recognized. I just think it's a bit dishonest to just say "Look at this great guy" and not mention that he is somewhat related to you, it casts more shadows upon you than if you simply acknowledge there IS a connection. At least it won't seem there is anything to hide.
- Is it possible we combine these two discussions though? Some people are discussing over there and some people here. --Karlos 00:33, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- The Scribe speaks with an in-game voice. As far as I know, he's guildless. There is no need to break the fourth wall with guild affiliations or other such notations because there's insufficient merit within the complaint to command it. You have stated your case. I have read, responded to, and ultimately declined to implement your suggestion into a program conceived, run, and managed within my department. My careful attention to your comments and the assurance that I have given them due consideration is fulfillment of all I have to offer in this matter. --Gaile 00:50, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- And my thanks and appreciation for considering it is all I have to offer in return, I suppose. :) --Karlos 03:35, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- I sent another email last night -- I so agree that we need the Hot Links back. I love the new design, but I'm very much advocating for the Hot Links because right now, it's difficult to find things, and we really want some content to be accessible to you without digging, just a quick-n-easy click of the fast-link. --Gaile 18:57, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

- I think you'll really enjoy the music, as you have in the past. Jeremy Soule is a gifted composer (and a really nice guy!) and we're blessed to have his compositions in Guild Wars. (There's this one piece, in Kryta, where I go into the game just to listen to the score, and I let it play over and over again. Heavenly! :) ) --Gaile 18:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
New Community Project: Trivia!
As I mentioned on my User Page, we're looking for a lot of cool trivia questions (and answers) for PAX and other events that take place this summer and fall. You can read about it in the latest message on my user page, but in short, we seek approachable (not too difficult) questions for fan and trade shows. If you'd like to help, send your ideas to contests@arena.net. Don't post them here, because then they won't be a surprise. ;) Thanks for helping out! --Gaile 22:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, you guys: Pony up the trivia! (And thanks to you who have! But honestly, we need more!) :) --Gaile 03:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Gaile, are you still looking for Trivia? I know my guild leader (the guy who organised the Guild holiday) submitted a lot of stuff that we helped come up with, but do you need even more? Maestro Ed 19:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
That's funny, I missed this request somehow. I've had a riddles page up on this site for some time now. Take a look HERE and let me know if this is the kind of stuff you are looking for. If so I can make plenty more. When do you need them by and how many would you like? Any other limits or restrictions or even themes would be nice to help us make them appropriate too! -- Vallen Frostweaver 13:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Vallen, Love the riddles! What I'm looking for it much simpler, really: Just trivia questions, and not terribly difficult ones: Who was Prince Rurik's father? What is the capital of Kryta? To whose wife do you carry a message in Prophecies? What is the unusual reward for Double Dog Dare? That sort of thing. Do you think you could help? I'd really love the assistance! --Gaile 16:08, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Do you still need more? I thought PAX had already come and gone.Blackie ewilson92 17:03, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I need TONS more, yes! I don't want hard questions -- this isn't a Brain Twister event. It's fun, casual, and I don't even know if I'll be able to make myself heard. ;) So yes, the most trivia, the better, in the style and simplicity of the ones I've mentioned above. Thanks! --Gaile 17:40, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- So what about like the trivia question game in #gwpickup ? It gives a skill description, and you have to guess the skill. Lots of fun on that one! Or do you want questions like you gave for the Royal Ascalon Ball, lore releated questions? Or you could go even crazier and do GW history with questions like "What was the maximum number of Refund Points you could hold?" Lots of possibilites here! Obie Quiet 18:03, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Cutscenes
Hey Gaile not sure who to ask about this, but I was curious if there was a way to watch all of the cutscenes from all the campaigns after you did the missions and what not. I know in Factions there are some people you can talk to and they will replay them but not sure about Prophecies. If you can give me an answer that would be great. --Sktbrd341 21:44, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- I do not know that there is a means to do that. I'm almost positive there is not in Prophecies, but I asked around here because I thought maybe it existed in Realm of Torment within Nightfall. However I'm thinking not, now. I'm sure if someone has figured out that such a function exists, he or she will let you know. --Gaile 22:48, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was curious because some of the cutscenes in missions I had skipped, and I would of liked to go and watch all of them again to refresh my memory on what happened in the stories. --Sktbrd341 22:51, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- AFAIK, those NPCs in Factions and Nightfall only replay the pre-mission cinematic, not the post-mission one. So, you are still missing out on half of them. --Valshia 23:04, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

EotN music (current login music)
Can we download this music? It is very excellent. BLASTEDT 00:00, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- It'll probably be on the GWEN soundtrack once it's released on DirectSong. — kyrasantae 01:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- AS far as I know, ANET does not own the music. Jeremy Soule does. You would be better off doing what Kyrasantae said and getting it from direct song. Counciler 04:40, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

- Is EotN going to have a redemption code or music is going to be available as soundtracks through DirectSong alone. I'm asking because i can't make purchases through directsong (stupid paypal). Here's a thought maybe Anet would allow people to buy the music at a higher price through there in game store, they would get a redemption code through the email and use that on the directsong website to get the soundtracks. --Phoenix File:Phoenix-sig.png 09:23, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- You know... This track has reminded me The Music from my beloved game - Icewind Dale (Soule composed music for IWD1, it sounds quite similarly :) ; IWD2 had music created by Inon Zur and I enjoy it, too). I have been waiting for GWEN because of dungeons, epic story and, especially, it's winter climate (I love this season and Shiverpeaks ;) ) and I have wondered - what about the music?! Will it be as epic and monumental as it should be?! Now it seems, that it IS. Thanks, ANet, thanks, Jeremy Soule :D ! MonkOfWar 12:46, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Phoenix -- I don't know the details of how to acquire the soundtrack. I am sure that info would be best obtained through DirectSong, but if I get any new info, I will post it.
- Thank you for the comments, MonkOfWar. :) --Gaile 21:21, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Haha, just kidding. I dont know why I posted this, but since this place is for "general chit-chat" I don't see a reason not to! Hope you're having a better time now that the raging idiots have calmed down about the darn Bonus Mission Pack. Hehe, much love to ya Gaile, keep up the good work. Counciler 14:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Did I and others on this wiki just get labeled a "raging idiot" for ranting about the way the BMP is obtained? I personally am not offended in any way, but I think being a little careful with the wording would be more prudent ;) -- ab.er.rant 02:03, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- No! Not at all! I meant that people who post on guru saying "OMG tihs sux anet phailz!". I find that beyond annoying, so I'm sure Gaile does too, yet she sticks to her job and responds in a friendly and formal fashion. Those who express their dislike or disagreement with the policies of ArenaNet with clear, concise typing; without flying off the handle, and including legitimate or valid reasons on why they think said policy is bogus: THOSE people are perfectly fine. Counciler 01:15, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, for the most part I do try to keep a friendly and formal tone, but I admit that occasionally I might respond with a firm answer. And of course once in a great while during a visit I hit the mute command. It's not often, because I really want to communicate in both directions, but occasionally, someone taking a little "verbal time out" is a good thing for everyone involved. --Gaile 04:57, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Gaile: What is your favorite moment in GW where you just sat back and said "wow?" What is your favorite part of GW that you feel you had a hand in making part of the game? What is your favorite GW mystery that you hope is explained someday? --Ravious 15:33, 31 July 2007 (UTC) :One favourite game moment? You're joking! Let me ponder on that one for a bit...
- Favourite game design idea I had a hand in? You guys realize that I don't, you know, design the missions, or code the AI, right? I mean... Oh, wait, I know! The birthday gifts!
- I sat for a couple of hours before I got up the nerve to approach the design room, and Mike O'Brien , but finally I couldn't stand it--the idea was simply too delicious for me to self-squelch.
- April 25, 2006:
- Me: Mike, I know you're really busy and the game comes out in three days, but I just realized we could do this really, really, really cool thing for the players who have been with us since Prophecies released.
- Mike, ever patient: Oh, yeah, what's that?
- Me: Birthday gifts! When your character turns 1 year old -- and we have a lot of that happening this week -- you get a gift.
- Mike: What sort of gift?
- Me: I dunno, a party hat, a birthday cake, a special ... thingie of some sort! You guys'll figure it out, just this really cool present, some kind of "thank you," and a sign of veterancy!
- Mike reaches over for a pencil and, surprisingly, does not chuck it at me (did I mention it was a really busy time?) but instead scribbles down a note.
- Ok, thanks, Gaile.
- *pause*
- Me: So we can do it? *resists the "Can we, can we, huh, can we?" dance*
- Mike: We might be able to do something. It sounds like a good idea. I'll have to see what the designers can come up with.
- Me: *beams*
- And there you have it, a "mini-moment" *nudge* in Guild Wars history. Oh, and believe me, I'm not claiming all that many good ideas; it's all about the designers, really, who seem to have an amazing font of endless creativity. But you did ask, and that one did come to mind, and I do think it turned out rather nicely. :) --Gaile 03:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- So, i guess we have you (in part) to thank for the wonderful Birthday Presents!Blackie ewilson92 17:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- That's pretty cool. I know you don't code, but still you are a bearer of ideas sometimes, and especially with all the ones you see from the community. You started something that got its own monument! Can't wait to see what you put for the other two questions. --Ravious 15:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I used to be upset it was a character birthday and not an account birthday as I deleted all my original characters and made new ones when factions came out, which caused me to not have a present until a good long while after I had started playing the game but this nice little story makes me realise how lucky we were to even have birthday presents at all and how close we came to not having them! Nice idea Gaile! It also perhaps hints why you like mini pets so much :P then again, what's not to love?Dancing Gnome 22:08, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

A mailing Question
Hey Gaile, I have a question for you: My guild and me went on a vacation for the second year in a row (last year it was Portugal, this year it was England). Now I have written a diary about that and I sent it to the community email address of Guildwars. Before I pressed 'send' I highlighted the option to notify me when the mail was delivered. Now the diary itself was made in a word document and added as an attachment, I sent it but didn't get a notification it arrived. My question is, can you open op word attachments in mails? and can we get delivery notifications? or is security on the Arenanet mails so high everything gets blocked? If so I will have to think of another way to share that diary with you guys ^^. Thank you for your time and I hope PAX will be a blast! -- (Tribina / talk) 08:11, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Trib. Yes, I did receive the diary and I found it delightful! I envy you your time together, and the Lake District is one of my favourite parts of the world. I'm glad to see that the steady rain didn't dampen your spirits, nor the "morning lag." :D Thank you for sending the diary, and I look forward to seeing another one next year! --Gaile 15:58, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Happy Birthday, Gaile!
Ave!
According to this page, THAT DAY comes tomorrow! Hell, it's about time... to wish you all the best, both in a private life and in your work! First of all, I hope you'll never be forced to eat cold and tough shrimp fajitas again (whatever it is ;) ). May all your dreams come true! For example, I cross my fingers about your success in earning "Sweet & L33t Tooth of Doom & Pwnage" title and collecting all mini pets that are available (and unavailable, too)! ;)
And, granting that I am allowed to be an envoy of the Polish Guild Wars Community (and Guild Wars Poland Team, that I am member of), please accept sincerest wishes from us all! Hopefully you'll never leave your job (as the retirement is only for weaklings, or even n00bs - just look at the old men from The Rolling Stones or Iron Maiden)! Just kidding, of course :P !

Seasons and Regions
So here's something I want to check with you guys: If it's January in North America, or Europe, or Asia, it's considered winter. But in Australia, or The Philippines, or New Zealand, that's really "summer" in climate. Is January called "winter" there or "summer?" Conversely, is August "summer" or "winter?" Thanks for the help with expanding my knowledge of geography and climate and such. :) --Gaile 23:39, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Uuuuuuum? Thanks for making my head hurt! If you are asking this question because you may or may not want climate changes in GW, just change it per-server. =DBlackie ewilson92 23:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Over there in january they call it Summer. They have christmas day in the middle of summer and i know people that spent last christmas day on the beach. =D --ChronicinabilitY 23:51, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, its Winter here atm (Australia), and January will be summer. --Indecision 00:06, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- My brother had to scrape the ice from his windscreen this morning. Right now is most definitely winter. Summer is that nice time at the end of the year with all of those public holidays, the beach, warm sunlight, and maybe a family barbecue. -- Dashface 00:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just so you can get a confirmation, I'm here on the East Coast, USA, and it's "summer" here. -- Jioruji Derako.> 01:16, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, friends. I spoke with Bex, as well, and learned that it is indeed winter in Australia now. I knew it seemed to be winter, but I didn't know if it was actually called winter, you see? Thanks again for the education! --Gaile 05:28, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

- Actually... it depends as well of your proximity to the tropics or the equator line as well of course. It's the "cold season" here in New Caledonia (as well as in the tropical regions of Oceania, Australia, Africa & South America), temperature never really drop under 15°C. Further South (eg : Southern Australia, New Zealand) it's really the Winter as you know it in Europe and the States with such things as snow (some friends of mine usually go skiing in New Zealand in September). On the other end of the year it's the "hot season" in January when temperature never really go above 34°C (we never experience the kind of heatwave that happen sometimes in Europe for exemple). And there are no real intermediate seasons as well (the things you call Spring and Autumn). Anyway I cannot imagine Christmas or New Year's Eve without a hot (but not always sunny) day at the beach... some friends from France consider this kind of things... weird, from their point of view ;) Jaxom 06:58, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

- Congrats, Gaile! If you are going to Paris, some of the (relatively) less known places to see are the Musée d'Orsay] (it's beautiful - it's the one with the Rodin sculptures, including the famous "Gates of Hell" one) and Basilique du Sacré Coeur - regardless of personnal faith it's a very beautiful church, and it's on an elevation, so you have a nice view of Paris when up there. Try to find a map with Paris' metro system, it's the easiest and fastest way to move around the city. And the last time I was there (which was some years ago), I was told that speaking English only was not a problem, but that some of the local citzens were happier if you tried to speak French first, and then resorted to English if it didn't work. Have a nice trip, it is a beautiful city : D Erasculio 13:38, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have heard of the Basilique -- I believe that would be "Church of the Sacred Heart" in English, and even to someone from far away, it is very famous. In addition to castles, I love visiting churches of all faiths. In fact, I make frequent trips that I call my "Castles and Cathedrals" tours, so this sounds very good to me! Merci beaucoup! --Gaile 05:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello Gaile :) I hope you really enjoy your Paris trip and I wish I was going as well but if wishes were fishes.... I noticed you say you are a castle nut, if so you should come to Northumberland in England to see some truly beautiful castles. Lando 13th August 2007 08:00 BST

- There are only two of us going from ArenaNet: Myself, and Isaiah Cartwright. This will be the third fan show that Izzy and I have been to: First the Taipai Games Show in Taiwan (February 2006); Games Convention (August 2006); and now the Festival du Jeu Video (September 2007). (Reset indent) I'm thinking I need to visit someplace, or some places, directly connected with art and music. I'm a huge fan of French Impressionism -- so wonderful, so very "Français" in my mind. I love the art (Renoir, Monet, Degas, etc) and the music (Debussy, Saint-Saëns, etc.). So I have to figure out how to include an homage to the Gods of Impressionism in my trip. :) --Gaile 05:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Auction house - real or unreal
Hi Gaile - i would talk about "Auction houses" (i hope it's my first and last time coz this is sometimes spamming-question) - accordin to [this review] : James Phinney: We are constantly working on adding features to the game, and both Observer Mode and an Auction House are high on our priority list. I can't announce specific dates, but of the two, players should expect to see Observer Mode implemented first. - August 25, 2005(wow?)
Is there any progress? Or IS there anyone works about that - this review was long time ago and only observer mode has seen daylight. There will be 4(FOUR) campanings and a lot of items. Thanks in advice for anserws. (I know i would post my suggestions on forum-topic in suggestions thread but this is only questions :) ) --Grethort 05:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that what took place -- and we've spoken of this before, actually -- was that we learned that adding the auction house would be much more complex than originally thought. This is because of the way the game is designed and programmed. So yes, back in 2005 we were thinking auction houses would be implemented, but at this time, as you know, we have no such plans for Guild Wars, not because we don't want to do it but because it's just really not possible. --Gaile 08:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Until that day comes, I guess we'll have to settle for Guild Wars Guru. =DBlackie ewilson92 12:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

You see, this page get full very often, and because I have so many archive sections, I'd really prefer not to archive large images, which I'm sure you'd understand and agree with. --Gaile 05:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Ugh
Was just browsing some Guru posts... I know the posters probably won't, but I'd like to apologize to you for all the crap you've had to take there. Armond 16:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- That's very kind of you, and thanks! The regrettable fact is, a few people will have a "Shoot the Messenger" mentality on a forum or will mistakenly conclude that, if no information is forthcoming, it's because "someone" is blocking the information flow in one direction or the other. ;) Both of which I don't take personally, but both are inaccurate. I mean, obviously, it's not the case that I'd block info, when I love sharing information and pretty much drive the rest of the team crazy asking to make more updates! When we don't provide info, it's for one of a few reasons. For instance, we may not have final information yet, or we may need to time the release for design reasons or even for sales or marketing reasons. Sometimes we're reading forums to determine player input, and we don't want to make an official statement that might influence the discussion. Sometimes -- like when we were preparing reconnects or expanded storage -- we want to keep the release of the new game element as a wonderful surprise for players. But when we can talk about things, we do, and with as much details as we can provide and as early as we feel it is prudent to do so. --Gaile 17:54, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Of course you're right - everything you've said is why you're the one with your job ;) And unfortunately, a few people deciding to shoot the messenger will begin to shoot said messenger, and then a bunch of other people will jump on the bandwagon - not because they think shooting the messenger is right, necessarily, but because it's something to do and because it's something other people are doing. I've seen it happen a lot (and it's happened to me once), and I never like it. Armond 01:35, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ya some people get mad at the bridge between Anet and us and yet Gaile has no control of some of the things that they cut her down with. I know that you love to give us some info. If you can't give info but you know the info then you should sleep type or something. :) Natalie Black 01:55, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed that there are some instances where an update causes anger and frustration among a few users, who obviously want to be heard and will go through great lenghts, for example, like registering at all the fansite forums and the wiki and posting basically the same angst on all of them, but with different user names to make it look like they're not the only ones complaining about their issues. They just don't realize that they are completely spoiled, and basically, they get ignored, as they should be. The Anet team, as far as listening to us, are among the best in the world at doing that. They take time out of their day to give players as much info as possible, which is something many developers don't even do. The fact that Gaile is doing her best to at least get some info(even a wee bit of the top secret stuff,) makes me glad to be here, listening to and absorbing all the goodness that this exceptional team delivers. Because after all, their level of commitment to us is priceless, just like the game we play. And for that, I am one of your top fans. Keep up the good work! If you need ever need a Alpha Tester, send me a plane ticket, I'll be there in a few hours :P Laura Brinklow 02:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

New Deity Idea
I think the art team should add another new deity to Guild Wars. Well, rather, goddess. I think that the new demi-goddess, Graigayle should be added as the official liaison between the other gods and the mortals. There can be a new divine realm where you can fight off an evil race called the Stob that speak in binary and try to farm you. And at the end of the realm, after you have destroyed all the bot-- err, I mean Stob, a large conga line of frogs form to dance around you. Just a thought. Counciler 09:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Dear Gaile and The ArenaNet Team: I know that people mainly use this discussion area for complaints, suggestions, and errors they have found in the game. But, I would like to change that right now. After playing the GW:EN preview this weekend, and enjoying it thoroughly, I just want to say, "Thank You." Thank You for all of the work that you put in. Thank You for constantly keeping up to date with what we want when leaving things alone could be easier. But, most of all, Thank You for the experience that is Guild Wars. There is nothing more that I love to do when I am home than to sit down, crack-open a gallon of Ice Cream, and play Guild Wars. I know that I love this game, and I know I'm not the only one! *Keep up the good work!*Blackie ewilson92 22:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Your signature Paw
I hope you don't mind, but i'm using your Paw image on my page to indicate my pet, if you say i should remove it, then i will. But i like purple...Estoldt 06:48, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the pawprint was designed for my signature by Lord Biro. I don't know the etiquette of using someone's signature image for another purpose, because I'm still very much learning how things are done, and what's considered good, bad, and neutral on a wiki, in general, as well as this wiki in particular. I imagine if anyone has thoughts on this, they'll post them. :) --Gaile 07:21, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Having gotten confused more than once about your new sig, would you consider changing it up a bit more? Perhaps use a different colour for the pawprint? I do a lot of scanning to see if there are responses I should answer, and I'm thinking even with the overlay, the exact same colour, direction, and size makes the sigs a bit too similar, if you don't mind. Thanks. --Gaile 20:40, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- I doubt you ever mistook my paw print for yours, but then again I drew mine from scratch and based it off the Purple Paw Print tattoo that I've had for years. Still, you were the first other person I'd come across who also used a purple paw print to identify with. I've been using one with this specific shade of purple since long before I got the tattoo, but I always thought I was the only oddball doing so, guess not. ;) ~ J.Kougar 06:32, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Pink Charr
Gaile, when I attended PAX I went to the history of guildwars thing and the designers mentioned some artwork of a big pink charr. Think you could somehow get ahold of this and post it on the web for all of us to see? :D -- Lord Raikage 02:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I don't know. That's sort of a company secret. ;) Ok, ok, I'll see if I can. If it's charr, it's Katy, so I'll give her a ping and see if we can roust up Pinkie.

- And I have to tell you, this is super secret stuff having to do with Guild Wars 2, so I can't say anything more. But ok, ok, just to prevent rumours from getting started, the "Pink Charr" was an team member (Katy, by name -- an absolutely wonderful person and incredibly gifted artist) having way too much fun with colour variations. :D The Pink Charr wasn't a real concept that's likely to be implemented into the game. As soon as we're revealing GW2 art, I'll see if we can get the full range of images "out there" for you to see. You're gonna love this set! ;) --Gaile 18:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Professionalism?
Mrs. Gray, is it professional of you to go in game as a GM and then take/accept items from players? From cart-pushers at Wal~Mart to the President of the United States, they don't don't take/accept items/gifts as it's far from a prefessional thing to do, especially for people in a position such as yours. (Side note: Most waiters take tips but then again their hourly pay is usually less than average to compensate.) Also, doesn't it also take away from actually earning those items by playing the game? ~ Sabastian 08:35, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- And who exactly is forcing people to give her stuff? Your analogy with President is also false, as you can give A LOT of stuff to the president if you want to. Actually, you're called to do so. The only thing is that you can't do it at a random time because it would be looked at as a bribe but you CAN give him at the time of (re)election. I mean, what are you gonna do, give minipet to Gaile and she's gonna give you GWEN in return? Oh please. I'd take everything too as a GM and I see no reason whatsoever not to. As a matter of fact, in ancient India (before muslims conquered it) when India was the most prosperous country in the world, it was popular to give money and resources to people in power out of gratitude. Not rulers alone, but also teachers etc. Not because you had to, but because you appreciated their work. And guess what, it worked for them, India had like what, 33% of world GDP at that time according to estimates. So, is there a rule why Gaile shouldn't be allowed to accept stuff? No. Is there a moral obligations? Not at all. People who have issue with this should ask themselves "why do I have a problem when people give money to someone out of gratitude and fondness" Servant of Kali 12:54, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Answer: Charm Animal (10 seconds). Wow that's a long time. Common answers to this question were Resurrection Chant and Resurrect which both take a long time, but not quite 10 seconds.
I have to contend that with: Knock (Sorry about the guildwiki link, its not in GWW yet >.<) -elviondale (tahlk) 19:21, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Drago thinks they meant a player-use skill. Not a monster or NPC skill. - Drago 19:55, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Player skill, and last time I checked, Rurik is not a Ranger. ;) --Gaile 19:57, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- The question on the website just says skill... no "player" designation. And remember, guys aren't good with hints ^.^ Do I get a prize or something now? j/k -elviondale (tahlk) 20:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- As a side note, the skill doesn't actually take that long, it's just given a nice 20 minute length so Rurick stands there being nice and vulnerable the whole time. If you can kill off every Charr and then get Rurick there, I believe it's a pretty quick activation, but I'll have to double check it when I decide to do that mission in HM :) Dargon 19:26, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
