A Behind the scenes look at how the teaser was made[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 14:52, 2 November 2010 (UTC) A lot of Tyrians have been wondering how these trailers are made, so I figured I'd share some insight into this complex subject.

User Mad Queen Malafide Behindthescenes1.jpg

Part of the trailers are usually in game footage, but most of the characters are rendered separatedly and blended in later. For this teaser we needed cloth simulations and wind for Malafide's cloak. We added a particle simulation for the rain and a deflector to simulate the rain hitting the ground. We had to carefully match the camera orientation for the characters with the camera for the in game footage so the two would match. This would make it appear as if the rendered rain was actually landing on the in game floor. A lot of light sources were needed to make this tiny scene look right. We were very picky how we wanted the characters lit. The minions and cogs should be well visible, while Malafide and Daniel should be mostly in the dark (with just a small outline visible). Depth of field was added to make characters in the foreground seem slightly out of focus.

User Mad Queen Malafide Behindthescenes2.jpg

A lot of the characters had to be modelled, textured and rigged from scratch. This bonedragon for example was completely modelled based on screenshots, and his textures are made of screenshots that were stitched together. The end result resembles the actual in game bonedragons close enough. The bonedragon has small green light sources attached to his eyes to make them light up. Attached to his head are a few deflectors, to make water bounce off. He also has a particle emitter attached to his lower jaw, to make it seem as if water is dripping down from his head. This effect was hardly visible in the teaser by the way. When the bonedragon is fully lit, he looks very dark. But with the final render pass he looks just right.

User Mad Queen Malafide Behindthescenes3.jpg

Most of the characters, such as Miya and Malafide, needed a limited range of emotions. Initially we had a vast range of different faces, but this ended up being way too much work. We settled for a more simple schematic that just allows the eyes and mouth to move. We can alter the shape of the mouth a little to make the character smile or look sad/angry. The eyes can blink and the direction of the eyes can be changed. Chest movement is hardly ever needed, but it was briefly visible during the first part of the 2009 trailer, when Malafide raises her hand.

User Mad Queen Malafide Behindthescenes4.jpg

The most difficult task is the final cut. Getting all the scenes on top of each other, and getting them to look right. There is a lot of color correction involved to get the rendered scenes to match the ingame footage. We also need to mask out parts of the image to allow characters to appear behind ingame objects. The minions for example walk around the fountain, but we can't mask out the entire fountain, because it also has running water. We mask out parts of the scenery, so the sky behind the royal keep can light up. We need different layers to animate the lightning and lightning-flashes as well. The shadows for each of the characters are also rendered on a separate layer.

Horrorween 2010 a great success![edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 02:29, 1 November 2010 (UTC) Thanks to Daniel Frozenwind, for allowing me to drag him into another Horrorween event. Thanks for everyone that attended and an even bigger thanks to all that donated. This Horrorween turned out a lot bigger and longer than we anticipated. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did hosting it. Thanks to Bladeradio, GW-EN Radio and Guild Mag for their promotion of the event and for doing the interviews. A special thanks also to Konig Des Todes and Dutch Sunshine for assisting us and helping us with all the goodies. Thanks to Gaile Gray for finding the time to attend our little event year after year. Thanks to Countess Reapera for all the support. And thanks to those that stuck around for the finale and helped channel all that energy into the gateway. Thanks to you our portal was a big success. Miya and I have now succesfully been send to our home world Ashynnt. But not to worry, the Queen shall return to Tyria in 250 years from now (give or take). If you attended the Horrorween, feel free to comment below. We love to hear your impressions.

Mad Queen Malafide 12:37, 21 October 2010 (UTC) The event is almost upon us darlings. The official event page is up on GWGuru and GWOnline. We'll try and get details up here as soon as possible, but right now the Queen is very exhausted from all the work that needed to be done.... and still so much work that needs doing. I need to animate more minions.

The King and Queen's Horrorween 2010 - Silence before the storm[edit]

User Mad Queen Malafide Danielcoaststone.jpgUser Mad Queen Malafide Danmalshrine.jpgUser Mad Queen Malafide Vortex.jpg

Mad Queen Malafide12:59, 9 October 2010 (UTC) It has been many nights of hard work for your favourite Queen and her trusted snowman partner in crime. In total darkness, the two of us have been up every night under the worst weather conditions imaginable preparing this grand event. Wrapped in a Dolyak-woll cloak, I directed my minions to construct a complex arcane device of my own design. It's been exhausting, and the coast of Lion's Arch has seriously been kicking up a storm lately. In a typical fashion, Daniel seems completely unaffected by the weather conditions. It must be such a blessing to be a snowman sometimes. Daniel has been putting his Ward-Stone to good use, a magical trinket that my husband gave him a few years back. I'm not even sure exactly how it works, but Thorn must have had some fore sight in this matter, or he wouldn't have entrusted Daniel with it.

More details on this grand event will soon follow, but we have been keeping it a secret for a good reason. For now, here's the teaser.

GW2 - On the topic of dungeons[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 15:59, 6 September 2010 (UTC) We've been assured that dungeons will be featured in Guild Wars 2, in fact there's one right next to Beetleton, but they will be limited to a small amount of players at a time. Yours cruely loves dungeons personally. But thinking about the design of some of the dungeons in Guild Wars 1 sometimes brings my blood to a boil. From a professional point of view, the Underworld (although it is my much cherished home) is probably one of the worst designed dungeons in all of Guild Wars. I know that sounds harsh coming from your favourite evil Queen, so perhaps I should elaborate more on this matter. Also I would love to hear your opinions on this matter. Lets first look at some of the quests in this elite area.

First of all:

Clear the chamber

Any dungeon that starts with multiple players yelling at the same time: "Don't take the quest!" -is a badly designed dungeon. There's no way a player can know in advance that this quest will magically spawn random monsters all over the place, unless you've played it before. Now a dungeon is allowed to require some experience, but taking a quest should never be a cause of mission failure. When ever you see that exclaimation mark, you should be able to take the quest. It's like that anywhere else in the game, why should this be any different? Why should taking a quest suddenly make a part of the dungeon a lot harder? It does not make any sense. Also, why are there so many deadly enemies right near the start? A dumb player could aggro the monsters before everyone else has finished loading. The starting area of any area should always be clear of monsters. But probably worse is the order in which enemies need to be killed. For the players there is no way of knowing that specifically killing the Dryders will cause the Reaper to appear, and that the Reaper can be killed by nearby monsters. First of all, a Reaper npc needed for quests simply shouldn't be killable by monsters. That's just stupid. But also at no point is the player warned that this can cause mission failure, or that the death of the Dryders will cause the Reaper to spawn. Why doesn't he spawn after everything is dead in the area? Why is there a random patrol of Aatxe nearby that occasionally gets too close to the Reaper by accident? Why, why, why?

But the number one cause of mission failure is the taking of the quests. "Don't take the quest!" Or: "Only take monuments of Grenth!". How often have I heard these lines? I really can't remember. Taking multiple quests should not cause you to fail the mission. Why does the Reaper give you multiple conflicting quests? Why does he give quests that cause even more monsters to spawn, thus making it impossible to finish one of the other quests (Like Escort of Souls). Why aren't his quests limited to one at a time? In fact, why not simply automatically activate the quest "Monuments of Grenth", since you'll be doing that quest for the whole duration of your visit anyway, and why not make all the other quests in a prefixed order?

Escort of Souls

Another quest where you have to protect dumb npc's, and if they die, you lose. Combine this quest with the quest Unwanted Guests and you're basically toast. The ghosts automatically start walking (this used to be different) making them even more likely to get killed. If the player isn't paying attention, they'll wander off on their own and random monsters will spawn out of nowhere along the way. Again, taking quests should not make it impossible for you to finish a dungeon. This has bad design written all over it. I'm sorry for being so harsh on one of my favourite areas.

Unwanted Guests

A quest that spawns invincible enemies. This quest is a nightmare when combined with Escort of Souls. The two conflict each other, because there is no way you'll get npc's that are weak and defenceless, and that start walking automatically, past a horde of invincible enemies that kill regular players in two hits. It's basically game over. Why do these quests have to be in the same area? Why can you take them both at once? Oh, and this quest also spawns enemies too close to the Reaper. So don't be surprised if the Reaper suddenly dies off-compass.

Monuments of Grenth

My main issue with this quest is that it spawns Dryders that weren't there before, and if the Dryders die, then the Reaper spawns. Players are not informed how this works, nor are they informed that the Reaper can die. So if players kill the Dryders first, while other enemies are still around, the remaining enemies kill the Reaper. This is especially true at the Twin Serpent Mountains, where there are invisible traps all over the place that will instantly kill the Reaper unless they are cleared. This is unfair. There's also a horde of Coldfire's way too close to the Forgotten vale Reaper.

Imprisoned Spirits

Another cause for mission failure. Imprisoned Spirits instantly spawns vulnerable npc's and a horde of dryders out of nowhere. Players have no way of knowing where they will spawn. In fact, when they take the quest, the target area is outside compass range. Since all the weak npc's spawn on the same spot on top of each other, and all the Dryders are armed with Meteorshowers, they will instantly kill the Spirits without giving the players any chance to defend them. You have to know where they will spawn. This is yet another badly designed quest based on protecting npc's with spawning enemies. I hate spawning enemies, it makes no sense. Atleast have them spawn somewhere far away, and then approach the area (like with the Slayer), so you see them coming. But not have them spawn right on top of the npc's you must protect.

The Four Horsemen

I kind of like this quest, mostly because it is an actual challenge, and players must split up. What I don't like is that players aren't told that they must split up. And again, they must defend the Reaper. Reapers should be unkillable, because as a player we have no control over them. It's like dropping a bunny in a den of wolves and telling the heroes to protect the bunny.

Wrathful Spirits

This quest is okay. You can see the enemies spawning, and there are plenty of spirit npc's in order to keep atleast one alive. It also takes a long while before they actually kill everyone, and most of the pre-quest enemies will already be dead long before you can take this quest from the Reaper.

Servants of Grenth

One of the number one causes of mission failure in the Underworld because of bad design. This quest tells you to protect King Frozenwind, who then spawns way off compass, yet it doesn't tell you to protect the Reaper. Ironically, more enemies spawn and head for the Reaper, than towards King Frozenwind. So this quest not only fails to tell you to split your team up, but it misinforms the players, and doesn't tell them where the npc is that they should be protecting.

Terrorweb Queen

This quest is alright. It's a pity the Terrorweb Queen is such a push over.

Demon Assassin

This quest again misinforms the players. It tells you to kill the Slayer, but this is only half of the quest. The Slayer has a large horde of enemies trailing behind him slowly, and if you just kill the Slayer the quest will report that it is completed. However, the hordes will arrive a lot later, and walk up to the Reaper and kill him. So while the players are on their merry way to the next quest, the mission is suddenly terminated. Why do the Slayer and his mob not move at the same speed? Why is the Slayer so easy? Why doesn't the quest inform the players about the mob? Why doesn't the quest complete after both the Slayer and the mobs have been killed?

The Nightman Cometh

For the record, I love this boss. But for Grenth's sake get rid of the skill Encase Skeleton. It serves no purpose. All it does is freeze enemies in a field, making them invincible while frozen, but allowing them to recover health so that they can come back into play later. In other words, it's a skill that makes the boss battle harder. Most boss battles with Dhuum start with the whole party screaming "Don't use Encase Skeleton". That's a bad sign.

Gamescom 2010 - GW2 Playing a necromancer[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide12:49, 6 September 2010 (UTC) It's already been a few weeks, but the Queen figured that perhaps she should put her thoughts to parchment regarding the Guild Wars 2 demo. I was lucky enough to play for about 40 minutes, but there were huge lines and we had to wait a long time. When it finally was my turn, of course I chose a female human necromancer of nobility. The first thing I noticed was that since I started in the starting area, a lot of things were still locked. The introduction quests were rather lineair and you were not free to explore the environment just yet. As soon as the tutorial had been completed however, the shackles were off, and I could explore freely in both the area surrounding Divinities Reach and the city itself.

Let me just start by saying that the necromancer plays very different in GW2 from the way it does in GW1. The controls took some getting used to, and weapons no longer automatically allowed you to attack. This felt a bit weird, you had to use your skills to attack and nothing else. However the freedom of movement feels very natural and like something GW desperately needed. In fact everything from running, jumping and rolling feels so much better. The standing still while casting seems gone. You can now run and cast, and doing both at the same time no longer disrupts your spellcasting like it did before. Swimming was also in, but underwater combat was not allowed (an ingame message appears telling the player that it isn't allowed and that she must return to the surface). The swimming controls are excellent from the brief swimming that I experienced during that short demo. The player is not free to jump on top of anything she likes however. We did notice a few invisible walls here and there that prevented us from jumping on top of certain ledges (even though it seemed as if they were easily in reach). Falling damage is also in, but when your character is not in combat, you quickly recover from that damage. The new Death Shroud ability took some getting used to. It feels a bit simular to the way assassins shadow step, because of the way you return to your place of origin after your lifeforce bar has run out. It felt a bit restrictive that you are limited to a preset skillbar while in Death Shroud. This is something that worries me a little. Will we still have the freedom to make our own creative skillbars in GW? Or will so much of the game be simplified that it eliminates the clever strategic skill combinations that were possible in GW1? Minions are no longer raised from corpses, and with the limited minion skills that were in the demo it seemed like we could only summon a small number of minions per skill, depending on the skill of course. So while some minion skills allowed to raise only one minion of that type, others might allow you to raise more than one.

The visuals are astounding. I've been assured that you will not need a computer from the future to play GW2. In fact, a pc that runs GW1 will probably be able to run GW2 just fine. I spend most of my demo time chatting with Regina, who was playing at the same time as well. After a hearty greeting, multiple other Tyrians soon gathered around me. It was a lovely gathering, although most were unknown faces to me. I commented on the peaceful lack of mesmers in Tyria-of-the-future, to which Regina responded that they had been removed from the demo. Now what does that mean exactly? That does not sound comforting at all! If GW2 will have mesmers, then they'd better have an equal amount of catapults to balance things out.

Well that's my first impressions in a nutshell. I'm pretty excited about GW2, but I also have some worries regarding the depth of the game play. By the way, the Queen also managed to acquire one of the limited number of Guild wars 2 artbooks and had it signed by Daniel Dociu; "To the Mad Queen Malafide". Thank you darling!

Mantlecon 2010[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 20:46, 8 April 2010 (UTC) Mantlecon shall soon be upon us, and this is once again the time to show support to the White Mantle. We can't let these Shiningblade bandits take over our proud Kryta, nor can we let this self proclaimed princess Salma (if that is her real name) steal the throne that is rightfully mine. You can show your support by enlisting with the White Mantle today, or by voting OBEY. Spread the word, gather support and keep our Kryta safe. The Queen is looking forward to your support on Mantlecon.

The King and Queen's Horrorween 2009[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 18:56, 30 September 2009 (UTC) It's that time of the year again darlings. The last Horrorween was a great success, and now with a new Halloween on the horizon, that means a new Horrorween as well. But this is no matter of mere repetition. There's a few golden oldies of course, but we have a large selection of new activities in store for you. For now we'll keep those a secret, but trust your Queen that you shall be pleasantly surprised. None of this would be possible how ever without the help of my dear co-host Daniel Frozenwind. For a short while there were some doubts among some Tyrians if the King of the Snowmen would return this Halloween, or if he'd retire. Well, you can't keep a real event host down. Daniel is back for a grand event, and I owe him much thanks for doing so. I would not want to host this event without him... not for the world. For those of you that missed out on the last Horrorween, this one promises to be even bigger. We're preparing a brand new trailer, Bladeradio is once again doing Night of the Minipets, and we have a few very special Aion Wings give aways. There's also a magnificent art contest on the Guild Wars Guru forums, with a grand prize, and much much more. So don't miss out on this year's Horrorween.

The Aion promotion[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 20:25, 25 August 2009 (UTC) What exactly is the Aion promotion?

Wings for Guild Wars® characters? Yes! You may not be able to fly, but you'll look awesome on the ground with these flashy wings from NCsoft's upcoming MMORPG Aion™. For a limited time, when you purchase either the Aion SteelBook edition or the Aion Limited Collector's Edition, you will receive an exclusive emote that allows you to summon a pair of Aion wings for your Guild Wars character!

So let me get this straight. I have to buy another MMO, which I WILL NOT BE PLAYING, just to get wings in the MMO that I AM PLAYING.

I think that is just absurd. Is NCSoft completely out of touch with their community? You just don't pull mesmer-like stunts like that. It's basically a big screw-you to the whole community, if you'll pardon my Ascalon, and it doesn't sit right with me.

Hand out wings for Aion by buying Aion, and hand out wings for Guild Wars by buying Guild Wars (or by preordering GW2). But don't hand out a luxury item just to try and rip them away from their favourite game! That would be like handing out a special Nightelf outfit for WoW if you buy Starcraft2. It's a foul move, and very disrespectful to GW's loyal fanbase. Every GW player will probably want these wings, but most of them would have to spend money on a game they have no intention of playing.

I highly disprove of this action, and hope many GW players agree with me and boycot this stupid stunt. I am a loyal Guild Wars player (been now for many years) but this is just wrong. I am mad... no scratch that, I was already quite mad... I'm furious!

The Queen sends her biggest necromancer facepalm to whoever came up with this abysmal idea.

Comments:

I'd say this is more of a move to keep NCSoft comsumers to stay with NCSoft, but the gimmick is cheap and ugly. Arenanet and NCSoft are running out of ideas. This smells like a Regina idea. Now the question is: Are they going to go 'whole-assed' with this idea? Are we going to see a GW/Aion crossover? Say a Mortal Kombat/DC Comics style thing maybe involving Zinn and a uber-powered Asura Gate that creates a magical trans-dimensional portal?~~000.00.00.00~~ 20:45, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
I have to lean to this point of view in all fairness. I understand it is to boost sales and the like, but make the Aion bonus for Aion, and not bring unrelated content into a different game. Guild Wars needs ways to KEEP its player base, not direct it else where. Furthermore I have amused my self like so:

I used a special Coupon called a "Paragon Tome", selected "Hexbreaker Aria" and what do you know, golden wings. Im still $50 richer! Frozenwind 20:59, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Massive Thriller dance in Amsterdam[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 06:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC) When news came in of a massive Thriller dance in Amsterdam, as a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, the Queen just could not resist. Over 500 people joined in to do what necromancers do best. Experienced dance teachers were at the ready to teach all the none necromancers how to do the dance routine. The Queen of course needed no such instructions. After all, the Thriller dance is one of the first things a necromancer learns (next to animating a Bone Horror of course). After all this chaos the Queen was quite exhausted, and there wasn't a single body part that did not hurt. We must have performed for hours in the blazing sun (which is not easy when you're wearing full Krytan Tormentors). But how often does one get an opportunity like this? The Queen is sure that Grenth must have been quite pleased.

Order of the Phoenix Alliance: The Boardwalk Bar-B-Que[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 13:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC) The Queen was honored to be invited to this lovely event. Although the Queen is often seen on large events, I do try to make time to attend the smaller ones too. After all, the small events of today could be the giants of tomorrow. Let us hope The Boardwalk Bar-B-Que will be part of a new tradition of Canthan events. The Queen especially enjoyed the costume contest and The Kaineng Center Circuit. Although the Queen did not win this race, I'm sure there are quite a few traders with broken noses now, so it wasn't a total loss. Daniel Frozenwind also attended of course, and he even won a prize for being the most creatively dressed. I'm sure that put a much needed smile on his snowy face. The Queen also took part in the scavenger hunt, which got me a lovely new Soul Reaping focus as a reward. I'll be sure to add it to my lovely collection.

The Royal Ascalon Family Masquerade Ball 2009[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 03:30, 1 June 2009 (UTC) What an amazing event this was. A lot of thanks goes to Daniel and his great staff for putting all this together. I felt both blessed and honored to help co-host this ancient Ascalon tradition. I also want to thank Linsey for showing up and helping us announce the winners of the couples costume contest and dance off. As the Queen puts these words to parchment, she is actually quite exhausted. I have been up all day in Serenity Temple international entertaining guests from all over Tyria. At one point the Queen's eyes started to hurt so badly that Daniel had to kick me to bed to have some rest. I returned soon there after and stayed for the rest of the night. Yes, it was quite a long party, as usual. But this time we filled six districts, which is a new record (I think "Season's End" was about four districts). Yet even greater events await us soon. There's "Winter In Juli" in... well... Juli of course, and there is of course Night of the Minipets. Which probably means... *drumroll*...yes you guessed it, another Horrorween! The Queen is looking forward to that especially.

The GWVM colab[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 18:08, 1 April 2009 (UTC) As announced earlier, part of the next Miya and Malafide episode would be in an upcoming music video. Well, it's available for viewing now. Thanks to all the great members of the GWVM group we've put together a collection of their videos. Check out the Guild Wars Video Makers colab to see the images (which you saw below earlier) in their full moving glory. It's only 14 seconds, but it should give you a good idea of what you can expect.

Miya and Malafide episode 3 progress part 3[edit]

User mad queen malafide mallich.jpgUser mad queen malafide rhonwynmal.jpg

Mad Queen Malafide 22:55, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Here are some screenshots from the latest clips I've been working on. The first is yours cruelly battling the Lich with a very special blade. The dark powers of the Scepter of Orr clash with that of the evil Queen, causing bolts of energy to shoot out in random directions. The second picture is Malhavoc Adhamar next to Lady Rhonwyn. Notice that their bows actually have strings and they carry quivers on their backs. Malhavoc carries a special double quiver. One holds his regular arrows and the other holds his explosive arrows (for those special ignited shots). Rhonwyn carries regular arrows but she has a lot more of them (for Barrage). Not in this picture are their pets, but these will definately be in the movie. If you can recognise the place where Malhavoc and Rhonwyn are standing then you can probably guess what they are aiming at. These clips will also feature in the upcoming music video from the GWVM group, so keep a look out for that.

Now lets take some time to explain how these scenes are actually recorded. We start with a long pre-production period during which we capture and rig all the various characters. This is a lot of work. We try to light the characters in such a way that the colours match those of the ingame environments. Once all the characters are done we need to model additional objects that cannot be found anywhere in the game (such as quivers and bow strings). The animation is what takes the most time. Even something as simple as aiming a bow can take quite a while to get right. Some of the special effects are added in 3dsmax, such as sparks flying from Malafide's blade. For this we use a regular particle emitter. Other effects use the reactor physics simulation to make things like Miya's wrist bands wave realistically. Once several shots are done they are rendered in 3dsmax as seperate tga files against a transparent background. We shoot all the backgrounds ingame because they would be far too much work to create from scratch (plus they don't render well when captured and it takes ages to light the environments). This also saves us the trouble of having to redo all the background effects such as lava and smoke.

Both the rendered foreground and recorded ingame backgrounds are composited in Adobe After Effects. This is where we adjust the colours so the two images match. Some backgrounds are animated with basic zooms and sliding to match any motion in the foreground footage. We also add special effects such as flares and lightning bolts to the images. Since all of the lights are already animated in 3dsmax we time the effects to match the flashes. For example, for the fight with the Lich we first animate green strobe lights to make Malafide's face light up whenever bolts of lightning shoot from the sword. Then in After Effects we time the flares and lightning to appear whenever the flashes occur. Once all this is done the footage is exported to Adobe Premiere, where we do the final compositing. This is also where we slow footage down or speed it up. We add sound effects music and dialogue, rearrange the scenes and cut them till the scene feels right. Next time we'll have a behind the scenes look at how the characters are animated.

MesCon[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 14:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC) It would seem that the source of my feelings of dread was MesCon. The anual gathering of badly dressed riverdancing mesmers, hosted by none other than the infamous Mog Ruith Of Armagh. Alas, the Queen could not make it to poison the drinks. The Queen tried to be there and unleash her wrath, but I was tied up in other worldly matters. The Queen was however informed that Regina managed to attend. Still, I regret severely that I wasn't there so that you might bask in my magnificent evil presence. On a more positive note, you'll be able to enjoy a sneak preview of Miya and Malafide episode 3 soon as it will be a part of a little music video thrown together through the combined efforts of the lovely GWVM group. More on that soon.

A day of dread[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 14:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC) The Queen woke up with an almost undescribable feeling of unrest. With various flashes of green and horrid images of riverdancing the Queen woke up this morning, in her unholy palace, with a persistent feeling of impending doom. It's that feeling a Stonesummit dwarf gets when his Dolyak mount starts to slide down a glacier, or that feeling Norgu gets when he senses that he's all out of chicken. It's the horrible feeling that something is terribly wrong and that the day is probably best spend hiding in a damp basement. Still, the Queen will not bow to such feelings of dread. There must be a good reason for the Queen's feeling of unease and I will get to the bottom of this matter. There there now Regurgitator, it's quite alright. And why are you dropping your mesmer chewtoy in my lap? Are you trying to tell your Queen something? Get your smelly hide out of here before I kick you to the hallway bone by bone!

Miya and Malafide episode 3 progress part 2[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 07:38, 20 February 2009 (UTC) It's been quite a while since you heard any news. But meanwhile the production of the new episode is running at full capacity. All of the pre production work is done, and the first scenes are being recorded, starting today. All of the main characters have a full face-rig, which means they'll be able to move their face and express a wide range of emotions. For some of the scenes new environments will have to be created, which is going to be a lot of work. Especially the grand opening of the episode requires a huge area to be created which has never been seen in Guild Wars before. Special effects will probably the most work, since they will involve lots of explosions and of course some spells and skills. Rather than recording ingame footage of these effects, we have decided to recreate them in a way that they are not identical to the effects seen in the game, yet still recognisable as the skills they are supposed to represent.

Miya and Malafide episode 3 progress part 1[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 00:03, 7 January 2009 (UTC) Work has started on the next episode of Miya and Malafide. Part 3 has long been delayed, because it would involve an impossible amount of work. Well, it seems it's no longer impossible and we'll make episode 3 anyway. Of course we won't be finished very soon. It's a monumental amount of work to get everything into the movie as we planned. The first batch of characters is ready for their part. We shall move on to some of the main villains later on. See how many you can recognise.

Can't wait till it's out! And you really do all that work yourself? Can't your minions do it? --Lady Rhonwyn 08:04, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, the Queen's minions are a bit clumsy. It is a task I could not possibly trust them with. The Queen prefers a more hands-on approach in matters that are as delicate as this. Mad Queen Malafide 17:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I think I can easily say I am highly looking forward to this Malafide. Am curious on one thing though - by your wording, it sounds like it's going to be much longer than episodes 1 and 2, to be precise, a real movie length, not the typical episode length. Either way, still looking forward to it. As for who I recognize (because I love little games), I only know Daniel, you, Thorn (obvious), Miya, and Regurgitator - although I bet that male mesmer on the bottom is "Crimthan Lucombe." Also, that is one big moa. O.o -- Konig Des Todes 00:37, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

So how is this little movie coming along? -- Konig/talk 16:17, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

This epic masterpiece is suffering from delays, due to the Queen having a lot of other work on her plate at the moment. I wish I had time to finish it right now, but I don't. Which is a pity. Several key scenes have already been shot, but it's a lot of work. Especially all of the action sequences. Mad Queen Malafide 16:55, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

King Frost's Wintersday ~ Seasons End[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 00:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC) Alas, Daniel Frozenwind retires for now, but he left us with his greatest event so far. I was honored to be a part of it, and co-host this magnificent Wintersday community event. The event lasted three nights in a row and again Bladeradio provided a lot of support. However, this does not mean there won't be more events. The Queen herself will continue to host a Halloween and Wintersday event in 2009 and perhaps I'll be able to convince the King of the snowmen to attend as well. For now the Queen will focus on the new episode of Miya and Malafide. A teaser for this episode has been out for quite a long time, but we never got around to actually make it. What you got, was the Horrorween trailer instead. Well all that will change now. We will begin production on Miya and Malafide episode 3 starting januari 2009. I have no idea how long it will take to finish, but watch the wiki for updates... and perhaps screens.

Horrorween a great success![edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 00:0, 1 September 2008 (UTC) Thanks to everyone that attended (we filled two entire districts), and especially thanks to everyone of the staff. Thanks to Daniel, Tesla, Wolfie and Solo. Great job everyone. I wish I could thank everyone by name, but I am feeling a bit groggy as I'm beating my scribe to write this, so you know who you are. Sorry we could not get everyone a prize, but then again not everyone can be a winner. We hope you all enjoyed all the activities regardless of prizes. I would also like to thank Gaile for dropping by. I think I know why she remained quiet for so long, thanks Gaile, glad you could make it. It means a lot to us.

Be sure to hold on to your Wicker Man masks. After all, we all worked had on that ritual and it was a great success. For those of you who have become interested in joining our staff after this event, just contact us through whisper after all of this is over and the Queen is back in the land of the living. References are preferred though.

There shall be another event at Wintersday, so don't miss it. It might just be even bigger than the Horrorween! The staff, and some of the contestants got invited to the after party by the way. Pictures should be up soon on the forums.

The King and Queen's Horrorween[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 18:32, 6 October 2008 (UTC) The king of the snowmen and your favourite Mad Queen of Halloween are almost done with preparations for the darkest of all Halloween events: "The Horrorween". Part of this ancient tradition is a ritual that perhaps dates back further into Tyria's history: The Wicker Ritual. A very long time ago, the druids of the Maguuma jungle had a ritual of autumn, gathering the dead wood of the high plains and out skirts of there jungle they would bind it together in the form of a human, and offer the effigy to Melandru for renewal, thus the ash would rain down on there beloved jungle and provide nutrition. Much time has passed and the ritual has lost its meaning, constructing the wicker man during the time of autumn while the Monarch of Madness corrupting presence is at hand had adverse effects on the worshipers of Melandru and so the practise of constructing wicker men ceased for a time. Until yours cruelly decided otherwise... How do YOU corrupt a snowman? The Queen invites you to take part in a twisted ritual that will turn our dear King of the snowmen to the dark side.

But that is not all. The Horrorween will be held in various international districts and depending which district you are in, you'll be able to take part in various contests. There shall be a ghastly costume contest with a grand prize for the spookiest contestant. Also we shall be seeing the return of the classic Pumpkin Bobbing. This ancient Halloween activity has sent many ships crashing straight onto Kryta's deadly coast, their helpless sailors screaming in terror as the unforgiving black rocks tore their ship asunder.

The King and Queen are also being helped by Bladeradio during the chilling Night of the Minipets. Rumour has reached the Queen that an unprecedented amount of minipets has been gathered for this frightening night. So this would be the perfect night to get your claws on one of these fiendish little toys.

Last but not least there shall be a joke contest. My husband, the late Mad King Thorn, has often been criticized for his... shall we say, "limited repertoire" of jokes? Well that rumour shall die as swiftly as a dancing mesmer on an open square. The Queen asks for the greatest pranksters and jesters to find the best Halloween joke on Tyria, so that my husband might add it to his collection. The rules are simple:

-Your joke should be comprehensible for all Tyrians, so preferably it should not contain off world topics. The joke should be about things that all Tyrians are familiar with.
-Your joke should be fitting to the ears of the Queen. This means no swearing or jokes that are in bad taste. The Queen enjoys a polite joke, better than a crude one.
-Your joke should be original. Grenth frowns upon copy paste, as does the Queen. Stealing other people's jokes is not an option.
-The Queen favors jokes that fit with Halloween.
-The Queen also favors jokes that make fun of mesmers, Asura, Charr, dwarves, Ascalons or mesmers.

-People making jokes about necromancers are killed on the spot.

Halloween approaches[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 13:10, 6 September 2008 (UTC) It's nearly that time of the year again, when the corpses rattle restlessly in their caskets, when the ghouls sound a foul cry against the dark and cloudy midnight sky. It's nearly that time of the year when my husband rises from the Underworld to spread terror and laughter among the people of Tyria. He has spend the last couple of long cold nights trying to think up a new repertoir of fiendish jokes and it has left him screaming mad, yelling in the middle of the night and impatiently walking the halls of the frozen palace over and over again. While the King prepares in his own way for the event, the Queen is delighted to announce an alliance between herself and the master of events, Daniel Frozenwind. Yes it was the always cheerful party animal himself that approached the Queen and asked her if she would like to work together for this frightful occasion. Sensing a unique opportunity to make this the most memorable Halloween in the history of Tyria, the Queen thankfully agreed. More details will be released soon. So get your pumpkin crowns ready. It is almost time for an event that will be to DIE for. Ahahahaha!

On a side note, it has come to the attention of the Queen that various automatons are being sold across Tyria with an extraordinary lack of scrutiny. The Queen wants to warn against buying any of these feeble Asuran constructions. They are highly unstable, and golemancy is hardly an exact line of magic anyway, much like alchemy. Recently both the Queen and Sir Daniel ran into a mob of these dangerous contraptions, which had purposely been tempered with in order to assassinate various key figures in Tyria. It was quite a battle, but the automatons were quickly dispatched of, as the Queen has yet to find anyone to match her dark powers in battle. Should any of my readers happen to run into one of these dangerous Asuran rust buckets, I recommend pushing a mesmer in their path, and legging it yourself.

Comments:

Im "chilled" already, ho ho ho, oh and Golemancy is the latest thing for ANYONE thats able to use magic (at least the important people!) Frozenwind 13:34, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah! Go Halloween! Halloween is the best festival in GW ever! (Wintersday HAS to be second). Good luck with this event. --Burning Freebies 20:25, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey, by the way, can i help with this event? Please? Dont make me beg.... --Burning Freebies 10:53, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Your offer is most kind, but the Queen and Daniel have already filled all their staff positions. But we do welcome you to attend, as we invite all people of Tyria. Mad Queen Malafide 13:46, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ahh, im too late. Drat. Anyway, you guys should get a wiki event page up soon. Any info you can give on the event now?--Burning Freebies 20:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Well we have various mini games in store for the people of Tyria. But we'd like to maintain a certain element of surprise for now. More will become known as Halloween draws closer. Mad Queen Malafide 06:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Ahh, you got me there. But im starting to feel stranger. I really like the way the days draw slower as Halloween and Christmas approach, and it ends up dark really soon. --Burning Freebies 20:26, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Excuse my previous comment. So when are you and Daniel gonna get a wiki page for this event? I know its name (The Black Ice Carnival). Oh, and any updates on the event? And will there be a Texmod?--Burning Freebies 15:56, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

My my my are we not an inquisitive little Grasp Mr.Freebies, wait and see will you! Frozenwind 17:42, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Oh yes, all in good time darling. When the event is announced, you will know. We shall make sure the event receives a grand announcement.Mad Queen Malafide 21:00, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Sure things, King and Queen. Best of luck with your event. I am looking forward to it, escpecially Blade Radio mini giveaway. Anyway, best of luck again. Now i will try and restrain myself as i wait. --Burning Freebies 20:32, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

The Mad Queen finally has a page of her own[edit]

Mad Queen Malafide 21:28, 1 September 2008 (UTC) The Queen decided that after many years spend writing and reading dusty tomes in her dark library, it would be time to release some more information about her wonderful person. Thus the Queen hired a Krytan scribe to tell the people of Tyria more about her. After all, if so many Tyrians write down their meaningless lives, then surely someone as important as me should do the same?

User image naming[edit]

Hello Mad Queen Malafide, one or more of the images you have recently uploaded have not been named properly as per our image policy. It states that images that are uploaded for use in the User namespace need to be named in the following format: User Mad Queen Malafide <short description>.<file extension> .

Reading and filling out the upload form completely will help you a lot with naming and tagging images. Thanks!

Image:Madqueen.jpg would be uploaded as Image:User Mad Queen Malafide Madqueen.jpg. --TalkPeople of Antioch 20:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Mad Queen Malafide 22:51, 1 September 2008 (UTC) It would help if I could find information on how to remove incorrectly named images.

Please[edit]

Please become with the various policies before making edits. When making edits, you are displayed notes such as:

Mad Queen Malafide 22:51, 1 September 2008 (UTC) I have no idea what you're getting at. I only edit my writing to remove small spelling errors, or to add new information.

Just in general. You do not seem to be familar with policy, as you have uploaded images under the wrong names, and have deleted comments without archiving. These are common mistakes, you are doing nothing that I didn't do my first days here. --TalkPeople of Antioch 22:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Mad Queen Malafide 22:56, 1 September 2008 (UTC) Ah, I see now. Well I did read the policy, yet at first I was under the impression that it was simply an automated reply. It's hard to tell, so I thought it would be okay to remove those. As for the images, I have uploaded them with correct filenames now. But how can I remove the older ones that were incorrectly named?

Only Sysops (Admins) have the power to do that. Don't worry, they will be dealt with, if they haven't already done so already. Also, place signatures at the end of comments, and used colons ":" in sequence to respond neatly to others. The colons serve as an indent. --TalkPeople of Antioch 22:58, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Understood and thanks for the fast replies. I'm still getting into the whole code system for the wiki. It's all a bit overwhelming right now. Especially making tables and such. But I guess that's just a matter of time. I'd have to experiment with that so I can clean up my page more, and have multiple coloms. Mad Queen Malafide 23:04, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
A good place to experiment is your own personal sandbox! Try User:Mad Queen Malafide/Sandbox. --TalkPeople of Antioch 23:06, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll give it a shot. By the way, how do you guys find the time to reply to an individual necromancer such as myself? There must be tons of people editting the wiki as I speak.Mad Queen Malafide 23:09, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
There is plenty of us here to help, always. Plus, I keep watch on most pages through Special:Recentchanges. --TalkPeople of Antioch 23:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Well anyway, thanks for your help and your time, I won't consume any more of it. But if you ever need an army of minions to help out, just give me a call. Although to be honest, they are not very good at replying... or talking in general. ;) Mad Queen Malafide 23:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
I'll keep that in mind. If you ever need a Word of Healing or a revert, just give a shout to me or other helpers. Don't worry, I don't have much to do, and I love helping people out. --TalkPeople of Antioch 23:18, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Image tagging[edit]

Remember to place in the summery box (or make the selection for) {{user image}} when uploading to your user space. Thanks. --TalkPeople of Antioch 04:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

You page[edit]

Hi you Majesty! I was just poking around you page, and it looks slightly dull. Do you want any special format of your page? If you look around user pages and see a format you like, let me know and ill see if i can play around with it to fit your page. --Burning Freebies 10:50, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

The Queen has been looking for a suitable format for a while. Perhaps a table here and there would make it more pleasing on the eyes. So far the Queen has sadly lacked the time to dive into this new art called "wiki". I'll be sure to let you know if there is a format which the Queen would like to add to her page. Mad Queen Malafide 13:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Sweet. Its just that ive been interested in creating all these formats for my user pages, and its quite fun to do. Are you interested in mine? Check it out. --Burning Freebies 14:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Miya and Malafide feed back[edit]

I know this wasnt set up by her Majesty, but if any one has any feed back on Miya and Malafide episodes, please post it here.

Im just posting this because i just saw the Wintersday special. Very funny indeed, escpecially the fireworks. --Burning Freebies 14:18, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad you enjoy our adventurers. With a little luck there shall be more of them. Currently the Queen and those who make the videos are a little tied up, so we haven't had much time for new episodes yet. Still, the Queen still wants to show a lot more of her adventures in Tyria. If a new adventure is released it will probably top the teaser in terms of complexity and action. Mad Queen Malafide 06:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Best of luck with getting the newest film together. Because the spoiler involved Mad King Thorn, i would say an ideal time for release wouls be Halloween, but that probably wont happen. Shame really. I am looking forward to the next episode though!--Burning Freebies 20:30, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Well never say never. The Queen can be a bit unpredictable. Mad Queen Malafide 21:01, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Funeral[edit]

As you may have heard, the Graps King was executed by Stone Summit early this morning. Daniel Frozenwind has given me the powers (via the head). I have decided to give him a proper passage to the underworld, and i was wondering if you werent to busy to come to the Temple of Ages this weekend for his funeral. --Burning Freebies 19:20, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

The Queen has been a bit busy as of late, so my apologies for not being able to attend. Halloween is quite a chore, as many ghosts need to be put into proper boxes. Mad Queen Malafide 06:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Horrorween[edit]

Great work on Horrorween, noble Queen. Thinking of teaming with Daniel with Wintersday? --Burning Freebies 12:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you kindly dear. Yes, the Queen has been considering a partnership with Daniel during Wintersday. Although the Queen will be on the side of Grenth of course, while Daniel tends to favor Dwayna, Grenth knows why. Many great things are being considered/planned, but for now I think both Daniel and the Queen will enjoy a bit of well earned rest. We hope to see all of you on Wintersday. Keep listening to Bladeradio and maybe we'll meet in Lion's Arch international 1 or any of the other major outposts. Mad Queen Malafide 07:52, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Its already up for private viewing to my friends, so send me a friend invite and you can have a watch. Frozenwind 00:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

A marvelous video Daniel. Well done. But did it have to be Asura? Those floppy ears.. those beady eyes. They give the Queen the heebee jeebees. Mad Queen Malafide 07:53, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
You're not the only one Malafide. I've been asking Grenth for a month if I can cause a "short" genocide... or a close one. He keeps saying no. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 09:47, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Asura? Dont bring back the memories....--Burning Freebies 15:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Happy Canthan new Year![edit]

Hey your Majesty! Have a great Canthan New Year! --Burning Freebies 15:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you kindly dear, the same to you. And I mean that from the bottom of my festering ice cold block of solid granite that is my heart. Mad Queen Malafide 07:41, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
I feel sorry for you, having to carry that heart around. --Burning Freebies 20:22, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Great Neji Hyuga[edit]

Hey its me, i just wanted to talk and join you!!! my user name is User:GreatNeji_Hyuga

Well hello there dear. How lovely you managed to find the Queen's dark little wiki page. I hope you enjoyed the festivities. Daniel doubts if we'll be able to top the Royal Ascalon Family Masquerade Ball 2009, with six districts and all, but I have a feeling the next event might be even bigger. Hope to see you there. Take care and Grenth bless. Mad Queen Malafide 06:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
I though i show up once again , and say hello and happy Halloween to u and the rest of the crew! ,melandru bless you and have fun =) --GreatNeji Hyuga 14:30, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Moaning?[edit]

How could you moan yesterday? You moaned about a set of Vabbian armour-which cost you around 154,090 gold pieces. I see where all your community donations go now.--Burning Freebies 16:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Freebies... I'm NOT going to have this on the wiki. PERIOD. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. You are not bringing your pseudo event drama here. Is that clear? -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 18:01, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Just for the record, and to prevent confusion for those that read my wiki, I assure you that all donations and a great deal of what little wealth I can gather by myself are invested in the events. The reason I brought you (Burning Freebies) to my Hall of Monuments, was to show you that I have only one armor set, and that's it. Most people (especially those who have been around for over 3 years) have several armor sets. I have only one, and not even a Fissure of Woe armor. That's because I invest so much of my own cash in events. For the last few months I've been gathering up to 130k by simply doing Zbounty quests each day. 100k of that will instantly go into the event as one of the prizes, along with all items that I gathered during these expeditions. I hoped that bringing you to my Hall would allow you to understand that we do not get these gifts falling out of thin air. It's mindless grinding for months on end, meaning that many of the achievements and luxuries that other fanatic players gather, have to be sacrificed in order to host great events. Sadly it seems that you are determined to see me as a some what twisted greedy character who receives everything on a plate. This could not be further from the truth, but alas even my best attempts to get you to change your mind have fallen to deaf ears, and ended up in threats on your part. Just think about it, I kindly invite you over to my sanctum to explain to you face to face how I host my events, and instead you tell me, and I quote: "get in my way and things will get nasty". So allow me to ask a very direct question which might seem odd coming from the Mad Queen... but are you completely mental? Now all of this is getting perhaps a bit too personal, and I'd hate for this to soil this wiki page, so you need not answer that question. But frankly I wonder and can't fathom what's going on in your head that drives you to constantly be a thorn in my (and Daniel's) side. You leave me utterly confused. Mad Queen Malafide 20:34, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Happy holidays![edit]

I hope you have a great Wintersday!--Burning Freebies 16:33, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much darling, that is very kind. The Queen isn't exactly feeling the holiday cheer at the moment, so your well wishes are most appreciated. Have a great Wintersday dear, and may it be a lot better than mine currently is. Mad Queen Malafide 02:45, 19 December 2009 (UTC) 02:45, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey Mal![edit]

Hey Mal. Just thought I should drop you a line like I said I would so you know who I am. I'm Chris Malone (in-game), you know, the guy you did teh Wintersday quests with. ^_^ -- My Talk Lacky 22:23, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

How nice of you to drop by to my dark corner of the wiki dear. I hope you enjoy the festivities this year, and have a ghoulish Wintersday. Mad Queen Malafide 02:45, 19 December 2009 (UTC) 02:45, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Well I promised you that I would. ^_^ I shall indeed enjoy the festivities this year. I think this year is the first year in which I have completed all of the Wintersday quests. =P How fairs your Wintersday questing? I believe Katherine said that you logged off after you did some questing. I was comforting her (or at least, trying to) after you left our party. I was there for a good hour or so! Alas, I had to quest, my friend wanted to quest with me, so I sadly had to leave her. I hope everything sorts itself out soon. Did you find out what was wrong? -- My Talk Lacky 07:06, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
The Queen is currently not really in festive spirits thanks to this whole ordeal, and other factors. Tell Katherine not to worry, I'll be alright. Katherine and I did have our assumptions what might be wrong, but I'll keep those thoughts clean off my wiki. Yet this still does not explain everything to me, and I'm sure Katherine feels the same. Anyway, it looks like this is not going to be a very merry Wintersday for yours truly. I hope everyone else has a great time, but I fear I won't be partying along with them. Mad Queen Malafide11:33, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
I too feel the sadness that is in our hearts, it's all very melancholic. I just wish I knew what was wrong. I am sure he will talk sooner or later. Are you able to explain your assumptions in-game to me, if that's alright please? -- My Talk Lacky 18:46, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Undead Kittens[edit]

Salutations to you as well darling. Support the Queens cause, support the White Mantle, and maybe some day you'll be able to take the bonedragon for a flight as well. The Queen is looking forward to seeing you on Mantlecon 2010. Mad Queen Malafide 10:00, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Fake vs. Real[edit]

Ahahahaha, that is most entertaining darling. I'm flattered. I'm not sure if Daniel would agree with this ending, but it is not an unlikely scenario. Hahaha. Mad Queen Malafide 10:23, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

I Blame the white tigers! --Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 21:47, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Your worries are kind, but fear not, your favourite Queen is quite alright. I fear that the Queen's illness of late and all the coughing might have injured the Queen's ribs a bit. It will take about 3 to 5 weeks to heal, according to my monk. Still, comfortable it is not, and it means the Queen shall have to take things easy. So if you do not see much of me for a few weeks, rest assured that the Queen is relaxing to ensure a swift recovery. I hope to be with you darlings again soon, healthy and evil as always. Mad Queen Malafide 15:37, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

FYI[edit]

I'm stealing how you did your userpage (mostly). -- -- Konig/talk 03:14, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

The Queen is pleased to hear that you admire the perfection of her wiki page. But alas, your page will never reach the same level of perfection without a picture of yours cruelly on it. But the Queen shall not stop you from trying anyway. By the way the Queen is doing much better now. If you see Daniel, tell him not to worry about his favourite evil Queen. Mad Queen Malafide 14:33, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Yay Malafide is back! :D --Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 14:37, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

My Queen[edit]

The law in this kingdom only allows us to have main userpages of 300k or less . Your page is 700k. :( --SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 16:09, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

That is most disappointing to hear. Do you perhaps have some advise on how I might make the mainpage some what lighter? Perhaps by splitting it up into sub pages? I must admit my knowledge on such matters is slightly limited. But I believe perhaps making my minipet page a separate page could help reduce the size? Mad Queen Malafide 18:40, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes, moving some stuff to a subpage then adding a link on the main page is a good idea. I think moving the miniatures table and some less important things about your character to a subpage should be enough. Oh, yea. Transinclusion(what you did with the miniatures table) doesn't save from page size :| --SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 07:43, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Alright, so I guess it is better to make a link to a different page then. Thanks for your kind assistance darling. By the way, is there any way in which I can see how large the userpage is? Mad Queen Malafide 09:34, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Depending on the browser used. Usually: File --> Save Page As and then checking the size of the html file + folder.
BTW. I checked the size now is kinda fine with minies removed. The policy say less than 300k but usually only big pages are problematic like over 500k. Should be fine now.--SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 09:54, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Marvelous! Thanks for your help darling, and if I add any more image heavy content to my page, I'll be sure to place it on separate pages. Mad Queen Malafide 12:15, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

New Fan[edit]

I just have to write and let you know, as a fellow necromancer, you have a new fan. After reading and watching your past info, I cant wait to see what you have in store for Horrorween 2010! *Malganis Frostmourn* 12.106.72.10 17:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you kindly darling! Currently we have no plans for another Horrorween, since me and Daniel Frozenwind are taking a bit of a rest. But I assure you that there shall be a Horrorween in GW2. If we change our minds however on a GW1 2010 Horrorween, this is certainly the page to keep an eye on. The Queen will certainly be present at Halloween. Mad Queen Malafide 18:14, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Well I'll be a Grawl's uncle, it seems we ARE having a 2010 Horrorween event. Higher powers made us change our mind. Originally we intended the 2009 event to be our last one, because both me and Daniel are a bit tied up in other work. And as you can imagine, getting a huge event like this rolling is a tremendous under taking. It's like pushing a fat Dolyak up a icy hill in mid winter. It's like trying to pull Norgu away from a buffee table. It's like... well I think you get the idea what it's like darling. But never the less, we are very excited to host another Horrorween this year, because frankly it wouldn't be a Tyrian Halloween without one. So keep an eye on this wiki or the forums to stay up to date, or check Daniel's page to stay informed of new developments. Oh, and check the new teaser for the event, it is listed on my main user page under the videos fold out tab and at the top of this page as well. Mad Queen Malafide13:10, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
I tried several times on Sunday to get into your event, but the district was always full. It was great to talk to you in game the other day and I hope your event went off successfully! Until next time, *Malganis Frostmourn* 12.106.72.10 19:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Yes darling, the place was packed. A lot of players made sure they were in the district early on, because as soon as the Horrorween started, there was no way anyone could make their way into international district 1. And then there were the usual connection issues that some players had to deal with. In previous years we had multiple staff in other districts as well, but this year we didn't want to make the event that big. That's because we were asked to do this event on short notice, and frankly, to manage all the staff is a lot of extra work. The event was a big success however and I believe everyone had a blast. Daniel and I were very happy with how things went and we had a great time hosting it. Mad Queen Malafide 15:39, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello[edit]

Basically, just like Malganis Frostmourn above me, i read your information and events and i was sold. You have another fan and I cant wait until Horrorween! Demonic Fahrir talk 09:32, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Why thank you ever so kindly for dropping by on my little dark corner of the wiki. If you've never been to any of the Horrorween events, then you are in for quite a night. It will also be hosted alongside with Bladeradio's Night of the Minipets. So if you are one of the many Tyrians trying to fill their Hall of Monuments with those precious mini pets, these two events are the excellent opportunity to acquire them. We will be handing out tons of gifts all night, and there will also be plenty of entertainment. Have a spooktacular Horrorween, and Grenth bless. Mad Queen Malafide 11:47, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations[edit]

Oh thank you darling! The Queen is such a minipet collector, and that's really the best reward I could wish for. Also congratulations to all the other winners. That burning Charr effigy looked incredible. A special thanks also to Daniel Frozenwind who insisted that I should try and send in the video for the art contest. You were right Daniel! I send it in minutes before the art contest closed. I'm so surprised, I totally did not see this coming. Mad Queen Malafide 10:44, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
