The White Mantle, angered by the death of Justiciar Hablion, are moving against the Shining Blade. The White Mantle forces preparing to attack Quarrel Falls must be stopped, and Councilor Vaylor must be warned of the danger.

Quest information[edit]

This quest is quite straightforward: walk into Silverwood and kill the three groups of White Mantle located where the quest markers indicate. The final group is located very close to the entrance to Ettin's Back. Dispatch them and then head into Ettin's Back to locate Councilor Vaylor for the reward. Councilor Vaylor is located right outside the entrance to Ventari's Refuge.

Initial dialogue[edit]

Gareth Quickblade

"We have been betrayed by one of our own! A traitor has given away the locations of the Shining Blade's bases throughout the region. In response to Hablion's death, they are launching a massive strike led by the Demagogue.
Scouts have reported a vanguard comprising three groups; they're currently pushing towards Quarrel Falls. We must warn Councilor Vaylor outside of Ventari's Refuge. I need you to head them off and buy us some time."
Yes Accept: "I'll do it!"
No Decline: "Do it yourself."
Ask Ask: "Head south and eliminate all three White Mantle groups."

Reward dialogue[edit]

Councilor Vaylor

"You have bought us time, hero. Your deeds today will not be forgotten, and you certainly won't go unrewarded by the Shining Blade. We are grateful for your assistance.
Gareth's support will be here shortly."

Bug Bug.If you arrive late to the last group, a Maguuma Warrior will be attacking it and you will have to restart the whole quest.
Anomaly Anomaly. This quest may be taken prematurely if the player follows the quests Mysterious Message and The Price of Steel to Quarrel Falls. In doing so, the player could miss the storyline of The Wilds and Bloodstone Fen, which precedes White Mantle Wrath: Demagogue's Vanguard, as indicated by the quest's dialogue.
