This northern remote and little known underground passage named the Basalt Grotto connects the Desolation to Vabbi.
It has been long-rumored that there exists a safe passage between the Desolation and Vabbi, a passage discovered and used to brutal effect by Palawa Joko when he invaded. The winding passages of the grotto are known to but few, who guard that knowledge jealously, out of fear or greed.–In-game description

[edit] Getting there
Basalt Grotto lies between the northwestern corner of Vehjin Mines in Vabbi and the northeastern corner of Joko's Domain in the Desolation. Either travel northwest from Jennur's Horde or travel northeast from the Bone Palace. It is an optional outpost. If attempting to reach this outpost from the Desolation, the the Scourge of Vabbi (a secondary quest) will show the way.
