The Desolation is situated on the northwestern portion of Elona, connected to the Crystal Desert. It is the most hostile region on the entire world of Tyria; any mortal who steps into its sands will be instantly slain. It is a land of poisonous sulfur deserts home to many undead creatures and the great Junundu wurms. It is a land under the rule of Palawa Joko.

• This region does not have a town, although the Bone Palace seems to function as one, with trader and crafter services being present.
• The Sulfurous Haze death effect that affects characters who step onto the sulfur areas does not incur death penalty and does not spoil Survivor progress.
• Zehtuka's Shortbow can be found randomly in all Desolation areas.
