Ritualist Skills[edit]
Most of the Ritualist's offensive Binding Rituals, Item Spells and Weapon Spells are linked to the Channeling Magic attribute, and has the following unique ritualist skills:
- Rituals: Bloodsong and Gaze of Fury are two of eight direct damage binding rituals. In PvE, Signet of Spirits is not a binding ritual and is the only Ritualist skill that summons three direct damage spirits Anger, Hate and Suffering. Agony and Destruction are the only two spirits with indirect damage over time and point blank area of effect, respectively. Eleven of the available thirty skills which specifically interact with spirits can be found in Channeling Magic.
- Items: Channeling Magic has the only three item spells that deal PBAoE damage: Destructive Was Glaive and Cruel Was Daoshen are the only Ritualist skills to provide Armor Penetration; while Grasping Was Kuurong is only one of two Ritualist skills to cause Knockdown. Clamor of Souls, Caretaker's Charge and Channeled Strike are three of six skills that are specifically enhanced by holding item spells.
- Weapons: Six of the ten available offensive weapon spells are in Channeling Magic. Nightmare Weapon, Splinter Weapon and Weapon of Fury are some of the most frequently used weapon spells to buff the offensive capabilities of allies. Warmonger's Weapon and Wailing Weapon are two of only three Ritualist interruption skills. Weapon of Aggression is the only weapon spell that does not target other allies. Wielder's Strike is the only channeling spell with conditional effects which trigger if you are wielding an weapon spell.
Skill statistics[edit]
Most of the Ritualist's lightning damage spells, armor-ignoring hex spells, and two life stealing skills are linked to the Channeling Magic attribute, as are a significant portion of the Ritualist's energy management skills. Although Channeling Magic only has four Binding Rituals, many of these skills relate to spirits in some way.
- Clamor of Souls, Lamentation and Spirit Rift are the only targetable channeling skills to inflict AoE lightning damage, while Caretaker's Charge is the only skill to provide conditional healing outside of Restoration Magic.
- Spirit Burn, Spirit Boon Strike, Gaze from Beyond, Essence Strike are the only non-elite spells that provide conditional effects for within the presence of earshot spirits in addition to inflicting lighting damage; while Channeled Strike and Wielder's Strike provide conditional lighting damage provide you are holding an bundle item or wielding a weapon spell.
- Destructive Was Glaive and Cruel Was Daoshen are the only item spells that inflict AoE lightning damage, and the only skills to increase armor penetration.
- Grasping Was Kuurong is the only elite skill to deal Untyped- armor-ignoring damage, other then hexes or spirits; Ancestors' Rage in particular is the only channeling skill to target an ally that is not a weapon spell.
- Channeling Magic has three Ritualist Hexes that benefit greatly from Anguished Was Lingwah: Lamentation provides unconditional AoE degeneration; Renewing Surge is the only single target hexes that provides energy gain' and finally, Painful Bond is the most effective hex to use in conjunction with attack spirits from Communing attribute.
- Bloodsong and Nightmare Weapon are the only two offensive life stealing skills found in Channeling Magic.
- Channeling Magic has three skills which inflict conditions: Gaze from Beyond is one of five ritualist skills that inflicts Blindness; Spirit Rift is only one of two ritualist skills that inflicts Cracked Armor; Spirit Burn is the only ritualist skill that inflicts Burning.
- Eight out of fifteen energy management skills are tied to Channeling Magic. In regards to three of the elite skills: Offering of Spirit provides unconditional direct energy gain for the Ritualist, as opposed Signet of Spirits (PvP) which requires the presence of earshot spirits, while Weapon of Fury provides in indirect energy gain for allies. Renewing Surge, Essence Strike, and Spirit Siphon are the only non-elite energy skills found in Channeling Magic; the latter two requiring the presence of earshot spirits.
- Caretaker's Charge and Clamor of Souls each provides conditional "buy-back" effect rather than "energy-gain".
- Spirit Boon Strike is one of only a few skills that heal spirits.
