The Mallyx Quest

I went into the last Quest of Mallyx with a group. Apparently they asked people to pay $1,000 gold. I was unaware of this and so did not pay anything. Without me the mission never would have been acomplished. When the mission was over there were no swords or spears on my Mallyx Quest symbol. Can you tell me what happened? I have been playing for a few yrs. now and I dont understand everything that goes on,maybe you could explain it to me? Do you have to do it twice?74.229.228.95 23:54, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

It's a quest, not a mission. The outpost icon won't change. You can accept the reward at High Priest Zhellix. See Mallyx the Unyielding (quest) and The Ebony Citadel of Mallyx for more information. Hope this helps. -- Arduin talk 00:01, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Also, the money they asked of you was probably to cover the cost of consumable set that one of the players used. It's common practice on Elite missions, that one player uses consumables, and the rest pays an eighth of the cost. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 11:44, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Disappearing summoning stones

Bug with Summoning Stones? I traded a few minutes ago in Kamadan, I bought 60 Demonic summoning stones from a guy for 25k. I went ot my gh and gave a couple out to guildies-all of whom are honest, we are just like that in my guild. I went to trade with someone and give them a few, and I dont have ANY! One of the players I traded with said his disappeared and then came back when he mapped. I tried mapping, I restarted...they are GONE. 55 of them were on my charactger. What can I do???--Kahlanne amnell 23:28, 4 May 2010 (UTC)lyrra the muse

That is every unusual. If you are 100% certain that you didn't put it somewhere else, you can contact support and see if there is a rare bug associated with items disappearing. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 14:12, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Maps

I'm trying to figure out what I do to download all the games maps prior to playing. Situation is this, I got a pretty nasty virus on my computer recently and had to re-install the OS. So now I would really like to download all the maps because the 10 minutes downloading every single map drives me absolutely insane. I checked Gw.dat and the subsequent links, but after doing what they recommended I not only was able to play the game afterwards, I still had to download individual maps as well. Yes Im absolutely 100% totally certain that I hit apply before starting the process. Anyone know whats up with this? (oh btw I used -image.)

How did you use -image? Did you use it with a shortcut or on a command line? It's best to use a new separate shortcut as explained here Command_line_arguments#-image. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 14:10, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Can Guild Wars Be played using only a Keyboard?

I have a laptop, with a numberpad on the side, (it also has a touch pad mouse but ihate it). I frequently have downtime where i can play, but i have no open space to set up a mouse or anything else, i can only use my lap itself. Is it possible, using a standard laptop keyboard, (with a side numberpad), to efficiently play?

It is possible to do most things with just a keyboard, however, things like creating a build, looking through xunlai storage, and anything else that requires you to click an onscreen button normally require a mouse or touch pad. But it is possible to target, cast, move, and so on with just a keyboard. --San Darkwood 12:49, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Ialso have a laptop that I occassionally undock... I have no problems using my mousepad for the rare occassions mentioned above where you want to make a build or flag heros and henchmen to locations... pages on the wiki like Controls and Commands can help you to find the other shortcut keys avalible. you may also consider having a USB trackball instead of a mouse... you can set a trackball down on any flat surface (even your leg) and control mouse movement. 192.203.160.241 13:05, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
You may also use a netbook for the same technique. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.171.22.190 (talk).

Trading

when a trade is to be made, and an item placed in the window; does putting cash in the deal(the buttons)represent the money required of the other person,or money you are giving to the other person? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 184.8.24.45 (talk).

War in Kryta "Random Ally Spawns"...

Do these folk that tag along in Krytan areas "resurrect" themselves once an area is clear? To be a bit more specific, do they act similar to Vael or any other EOTN ally when in a combat zone? --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 00:28, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

I've seen them do it in every area they spawn-------just like the NPC's in EoN. While they can be killed, once the party is res'd, they are too.Undouble 22:23, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

faction points

how do i find out how many days lift on my 30 day account change for faction points? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Pacarter (talk).

I'm not really sure what you're asking about. If you want to know when your faction expires, Kurzick and Luxon Alliance faction (not your individual faction) decrease by 10% each day. Your individual faction, for either Kurzick/Luxon or Balthazar, do not expire, they'll stay in your account until you spend them. If you're asking something about when an account block will expire, it should tell you exactly how many hours are remaining when you attempt to log-in. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 12:27, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

T1 or T2 meaning?

Hello, does anyone know about when people do team play, and they put glf T1 or T2. Does anyone know what that means? And also for building a Ritualist build how do you make a build for Rt/R for EoE? I need experience but I don't know how to make a proper build.

Please let me know, thank you. 99.252.163.223 20:05, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

T1 and T2 are the two terras in this build [1] 68.93.109.105 21:01, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
First, a "build" is only what YOU want it to be--You determine the skill sets and rating distribution for the character. Once you've created a "build" that you're happy with, save it. The WIKI provides the instruction set for saving builds.Undouble 22:36, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Lt. Thackeray's Scavenger Hunt

Aside from drops during the usual Thanksgiving event, is there any other way to obtain Hard Apple Cider??? I'm sure that most players have FAR better use for their storage than retaining bottles of a 1-level alcoholic beverage!!! Since the scavenger hunt CAN'T be completed without this item--it MIGHT be appropriate to establish another source-------rather than waiting for November 2010 to roll around!! Have laptop with pad not mouse ! :(

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchpad there is this... "Some touchpads also have "hotspots": locations on the touchpad that indicate user intentions other than pointing. For example, on certain touchpads, moving the finger along an edge of the touch pad will act as a scroll wheel, controlling the scrollbar and scrolling the window that has the focus vertically or horizontally depending on which edge is stroked." Attempt to slide up and down on the Far Right of the touchpad to enable your touchpad t oscroll up and down MrPaladin talk 12:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Some of the newer touch pads have multi-touch capability, which means you can use some of the similar gestures that's available on a iphone, etc to zoom in and out. Still even with that, playing the game on a touch pad is difficult at best. I would suggest investing in a USB mouse. A wireless one works very nicely for laptops. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 15:34, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Factions missing

I have been playing Guild wars for about three years, I started with Factions, then bought Profecies and Nightfall both, around the time nightfall came out, so i have all three. Last night i had no problems, today when i logged on, my account is saying that i do not have factions installed. My characters are still all there, but the 4 I have from Factions i am unable to open. The non-factions characters, I can log in with, but i am unable to map travel to anything involving factions. I am operating on windows Vista. I have tried re-starting the game itself, my system, and I even did a system restore to over 5 days ago, but to no avail. I am still unable to access factions. As stated, i have played factions for over 3 years now, so I do not have the access key slip anymore to try and re-install it either. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.215.29.234 (talk • contribs) at 20:58, 22 May 2010 (UTC).

You'll have to contact support. Not having the code, so you can send them it's scan and prove your ownership may prove to be a problem however. I never heard of someone "losing" a campaign that was added to an account. You can check what you have currently registered on your account by clicking the "Edit account" button on the character select screen. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 00:58, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Changing the Price of Rare material items

Hello, I was just wondering why the prices have changed/increased for some of the rare material items. For example, I went to a rare material trader and wanted to buy an item but on the list provided it said it had cost 7 500g but when I press the request quote it said 8 000g. Can someone explain to that problem please? 99.252.163.223 15:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

See trader. Rare materials are among the things that are priced based on player-driven supply and demand. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 15:33, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
He or she is talking about the difference between what is listed when you open the trader window and what is displayed when you get a quote. I think the game only updates the price lists every hour (or some interval) to avoid sending the up-to-the-second data to your computer continually, but when you press "request quote" it gives you the up-to-the-second price. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 15:39, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Also remember that if you quote to sell it it often goes below the list price... perhaps they should have thought about that and have both a buy and a sell column so that you don't have to quote every sale... in the end it all balances out around that list price... Resurrection, shrine and group members

Hello, I'd like to ask, if there is a way or command to start time to resurrection in shrine. Sometimes just one member survives and he has no chance to resurrect us all and ha has to die to get us to resurrect point. Is there possibility to get my self resurrect in shrine even, if all members aren't dead? Thaks for answer

It is not possible to ressurect at a shrine while a party member is still alive, but that party member can Ressurect your team. Or, if that member does not have a ressurt skill then he will have to die. The reason for this is that if you could ressurect at a shrine whenever you wanted to there would be know point to bringing a ressurection skill. Hope I helped, and be sure to sign your comments with four ~ Yay Killing Charr talk 18:31, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Having a hero or hench without a res still alive will however force a respawn... unless going for survivor I see little reason why a lone party member wont kill himself for the sake of the team... 192.203.160.241 18:59, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Assassin "Shadow Step" Skill

My character is a Mesmer in Factions. When deciding on my second profession, I got the skill "Shadow Step". I liked this spell a lot but I wasn't quite sure yet if I wanted Assassin as my second profession. After trying out the Monk profession, I decided to make Assassin my secondary profession; but my skill "Shadow Step" was gone. Is there any way I can get that spell back?! --76.76.79.210 04:39, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Once you accept the reward from An Audience with Master Togo (assassin) and Choose Your Secondary Profession (Factions quest) you should get all the assassin skills you had attained previousely. I'm going to assume by "Shadow Step" you mean Death's Charge. As the area is an Explorable area, after completing the quest a box should appear asking whether or not you want to put the skills on your current bar (and which skills to replace), however all skills that you have at the time (mesmer and assassin) will be available in the Skills and Attributes box which can be opened by pressing "K" in an outpost or town. -Wingsy 11:06, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
