Historian
A historian is a special NPC service type that gives out storybooks to characters. They also accept filled storybooks from characters and give out rewards.
The suffix of "[Historian]" was introduced with the NPC by the name of Durmand as part of the Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack. Durmand rewards characters who hand in a completed bonus mission storybook with an authorized version of the book, which in turn can be given to an appropriate Scribe in exchange for an item.
In Guild Wars Eye of the North, several NPCs give empty storybooks and accept them in return for reputation, gold, and experience rewards. Unofficially, these NPCs can be appropriately referred to as historians as well.
The game update on 13th November 2008 added new storybooks and historians to all three Guild Wars campaigns.
