Hi

You signed up for the Sealed play tournament I'm hosting. Since you've last checked, I've set a tourney date (Saturday, August 1st) and asked everyone to list the times they could play on that day. Please let me know if you are able to make it. That date is not set in stone yet, I will try to be as accommodating as possible if too many people can't play. Thanks for participating. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:31, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

You're on my team for tomorrow's sealed deck. You're gonna be there right? Jette, Reckoning, and I made the builds without you, so dont complain if you get stuck with something weird. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 05:56, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about that

It wasn't on purpose I was trying to see how he archived it so quickly after someone jumped him about the way he came across and handled things and said he was close to NPA whatever that means. I didn't ask for his help there is a major problem going on in game and I simply went to the 3 people I know that have helped me before with things and got attacked by him as I'm sure you could see. my mistake i clicked something by mistake i am not a comp major i wasn't trying to vandlize anything now i am being told off by everyone because i did click something by mistake.--User Jenniffercohen sig.pngJenn 04:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

I believe you have done all the right procedures, and that the only thing left to do is to wait for NCSoft Support to look through your ticket and make their judgement. Support doesn't come to this wiki, so you will have to wait for a response in your email. --User Ezekial Riddle bigsig.pngRiddle 15:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Profession icons

There was a discussion about adding them here. You might want to check it out. --JonTheMon 18:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

There was nothing in that section that stated they were to also be added to profession-specific quest pages. I've read through that section quite a few times, and so I hope for my ego's sake that I didn't read over the part where it said to go onto the profession-specific quests pages and add the icon =P. I also talked it over with Dry. --User Ezekial Riddle bigsig.pngRiddle 18:56, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I just saw that you were doing things similar to what he was doing, and was trying to make sure that it's something that won't get war'd over and/or rampage over RC. --JonTheMon 19:06, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually, that discussion is all about this. I'm not sure what you thought that discussion was about if not adding the profession icons to profession specific quests. I believe that Dry Humour was complying in good faith to that discussion, and think your removal should have been discussed there rather than simply implemented. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 20:11, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Ezekial Riddle did contact me concerning this -- which was appreciated -- and I conceded the point that the discussion had, strictly speaking, only covered the locations. Although I was operating in good faith in changing the quests, I did not explicitly make such a proposal. I intend to open a similar discussion to cover the quests, as I plan to contend that a colourful symbol is good way to quickly convey this information. The counter argument that this is redundant is valid and should perhaps be debated. (Perhaps something like "Monk Monk primary" would be an adequate compromise?) --DryHumour 20:38, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I have made a formal proposal on GWWT:QUESTS#Profession specific quests. --DryHumour 00:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Summons on new pages

Couple questions: should there be a separate page for all summons, and how should they be linked back to/from the default creature? --JonTheMon 18:16, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

How do you mean all summons? AFAIK, there are all ready pages for most, if not all of the stone summons. Do you mean like Spirits and Minions? If so, and if those pages aren't all ready created, then I'd be for making them.
On how to link back to the original creature: I am going to use {{otheruses}} and then link back to the original creature. Though, in the case of the Ruby Djinn, I'll currently link it to the Ruby Djinn disambig page. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 18:36, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Regina and precision shot

I apologize for my what may seem as a harsh response on her page. You provided a simple link to a skill page and implied that there's something wrong with the skill. I followed the link, saw nothing there after reading the description and scratching my head "huh? it says nothing about stances..." (somehow I didn't scroll down to the very last couple lines on a page that takes about two screen lengths to view), so I returned and asked "How so?" [is this skill removing stances, when it is not stated in the skill description?] I was confused, so I asked in response to your comment. Your reply not only failed to clarify the question, but it was a "consideration to rage over not finding out." This also implies that Regina was supposed to do homework to figure out what you were trying to tell her, as she is not a skill balancer, nor a coder, nor a QA, nor anyone expected to know much detail about specific skills or freshly introduced bugs. I admit that your second comment pissed me off and my reply to it should have been shorter, but I still maintain that the way you presented the issue to Regina was not helpful at all. I just wanted to explain how I felt as you asked to take it off Regina's page and to your talkpage. I hope we understand each other. G'day. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 20:34, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, to be honest, I didn't know how to treat the "How so?" I wasn't sure if you were aware that Precision Shot was removing stances but didn't know how it was better than other stance removals, or if you didn't see the bug listed on the page at all (which led me to believe that you didn't even click the link to Precision Shot). My second edit was in hopes that you would check the page (again?), or--if you knew about the bug--you would compare Precision Shot to the other stance removals.
To wrap this all up: I'm sorry for the hostility and raging on Regina's page. Your questioning Precision Shot's removing stances struck me weirdly, since the bug is so obvious. What also doesn't help is that I usually like to give the answer indirectly and hope that people find the answer for themselves. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 02:33, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, when you try to inform ANet staff of anything, you have to explain it like to a 10yr old, or they won't know what you're talking about or just dismiss it as babble, which they see a lot of. :P Save the "educate yourselves" stuff for players, preferrably those you know at least to a minimal extent, or it may be interpreted as rude. Also, what is obvious to you is not necessarily so to others. :) User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 10:56, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Rumor Kontrol

What was that about? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 1:11, 28 Sep 2010 (UTC)

That was a project that came out of boredom. I created a sock with the intent of using it to emulate Silver Edge's degree of editing activity. Also, I think I had rageafked, too, just a week prior, so I was wanting to be afk without being afk. 02:05, 28 September 2010 (UTC) EDIT: Scratch that. Checking my contribs around that time, I realized that my intentions with the sock were much more nefarious and long term: I wanted to see if I could make the sock a sysop.
Anyway, that project ran into a brick wall when there was a huge discussion over the validity of socks and I turned it over for the sake of illustrating that not all socks are malignant. --Riddle 01:53, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Comparing humans to tissue and matter

Never do that again. Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 11:14, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

As a human being, do I not have the capacity to say that all humans are mammals? That humans reproduce sexually (as opposed to asexually)? That, by nature, humans are terrible at being self-sufficient and are thus tribal/communal animals? That human beings are animals, and that not all humans have the same degree of sentience as each other?
I like how you are trying to be different, to the extent that you've died your hair blue and are coming to a wiki (of all places) to preach about human freedoms. With that, I can categorize you under "people with blue hair" and "people who are anti-modern society". And if you had a trait that made you so unique and different that no one could ever replicate it, I could classify you as "other".
Surely, a human is more than just 3-4 traits. A human is a collection of thousands (if not millions, billions, trillions) of different traits, and that is what separates us as human beings. But are you truly your own individual? Are you truly unique? Is there something about you that no other human being in the world has? Or are you just another unique collection of traits, gathered from the same pool of traits as Gandhi, Hitler, Ivan the Terrible, Einstein and me?
Food for thought. --Riddle 14:52, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
It is indeed possible to categorize everyone from the outside. Categorizing peoples' thought processes is something that could be called closed-minded (oh, the irony). It goes infinitely further than those categories. From people suffering from autism, to the kind that cannot stop a conversation once they have started it, to the ones who think it should not be a barrier for them, to those who do not want to openly talk about it, to the 1 person in the entire world who has made a promise to herself to be the best possible leader she can be despite her disability. She is unique in every way, and so am I, the face of judgment, the blue-haired rebel. That is what makes me better than each and every one of you! Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 17:25, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Since I'm autistic, that makes me just as good, right? User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 18:56, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
And yet, you are a human as I am human. You are human as Hitler, Charlemange, Jesus, Caesar and Aristotle are human (In this case, were human). I cannot take the claim that you are "unique in every way" very seriously, because I've shown how you are the same to at least 6,000,000,000 other animals of this Earth. Can I believe that you dislike the majority? Yes, very readily so. Can I believe that you are better than me? Yeah, sure, why not? I'd rather not get into a pissing contest about who is the better human on a wiki that documents a video game, that's rather pointless. Can I believe that you believe that the human spirit should be more than a desk job for 40 hours a week? Looks like I can. Can I believe that you are a unique being? Yes, because getting the exact circumstances that influenced your life is nigh impossible. We could make another, physical "you," but he would never be raised in the exact manner as you were.
I find you very interesting, because of all places to preach about the human spirit and the (lack of) freedom of the human spirit in today's society, why did you choose a small wiki of a dead videogame? I'm pretty sure Misery isn't Public Enemy Number One when it comes to oppressing the human spirit. --Riddle 00:46, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Koda, may I inquire how will you go about "dethroning" Misery (i.e. strategy)? I'm thinking that performing this "job" (if you please) will require more effort than a political leader of a small county or small city. After all, the community to whom you're selling your message is quite close-knit. Much more close-knit than a community of a city or a county.

"I don't think we like to cut off mid-sentence"

There was never consensus on whether to do that or not. Except for the last few, they have always been stopping mid-sentence as a way to grab people to go to the page. -- Konig/talk 18:35, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

I vaguely remember someone saying or doing what I did, but I didn't bother to check anywhere. That, and cutting off mid-sentence like a newspaper has always seemed like a bitch-move to me. I can't say why, that's just how I've always seen it.
Also on that note: I believe that removing that little piece of a sentence also made the box look better, because I think having 1 line of text wrapping around and going under the image is ugly. If it was 4+ lines, I wouldn't mind. --Riddle 19:26, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

1440x900 it would seem. Point was that different resolutions give different views. So what you did could become "ugly" for someone else. It is very hard to get that right. :P There were times when an article was perfect for me in the next subpage, but was terrible on the featured page. And sometimes where it was fine on the featured page, but terrible on the main page. -- Konig/talk 21:45, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

No I will not sort through my archive every time I want to schedule you. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 3:09, 12 Nov 2010 (UTC)

You are quite the interesting character, Jon Lupen.

Don't be coy about it, if you're going to insult me, do it to my face. I have wikimail if you fear the NPA hammer that much. — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 16:06, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm not the insulting type. I think the best insult I've ever used was "stinkybutt poopface," and I think I learned that one from pling. Regardless of my inability to insult people, I kindly ask that you stop baiting people, especially on their own talk pages. Have a nice day! --Riddle 16:31, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

I want to run Hblades, Hblades, imbagon, nec, nec, panic, monk, monk. If that's acceptable! — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 17:32, 24 Nov 2010 (UTC)
