- Damage caused by this skill is applied before the healing takes effect. This is important for healing skills targeting yourself as it is possible to die from using such skills when having low health.
- This skill affects only skills that directly heal, such as Ether Feast, Healing Signet, Restore Condition, Heal Party, etc. It does not affect Divine Favor healing, health gain due to life stealing or Vigorous Spirit's effect, the additional healing due to Divine Boon, health regeneration and similar effects.
- When Illusion of Pain ends on the target, it does not damage the character which casted it, even though they are credited with its healing.
