Captain Yithlis is the leader of The Oddbodies, a group of misfits among the forces of Forgotten fighting Abaddon in the Realm of Torment. He is the son of Commander Thurnis, a high-ranking officer in the Forgotten forces. Some time ago, while in charge of a patrol with two of his brothers, they were ambushed and his brothers were killed while he alone survived. Even though investigation proved him innocent, his father never forgave him. He was viewed as a traitor and coward. Now with the Oddbodies, Yithlis is trying to prove himself once again and regain his honor among the Forgotten by investigating the attempts of the demon forces to summon an entity known as the Unseen.

• Even though he dies at the end of the The Last Patrol he still spawns in the Domain of Pain near the entrance to the Gate of Fear after completing it.
