Also, go to CM; something new called "Lone Wolf." 22:34, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Yummy update! ...all that remains now is to fix Togo's AI (or lack of AI) and Vizunah Square. :P - Ander01 19:38, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Friend List[edit]

"The Friends List now displays locations for mutual friends."

What does that exactly mean? -Wracken 22:38, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

It means if you have someone in your friends list and they have you in their friend list, you can both see which map the other is in. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 22:40, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
yea i don't think they have it working though...-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 22:41, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

has this been implemented yet?--Firadesunna 22:41, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Does it (or is it supposed to) show the district if your friend is in a town? That would be great. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 22:43, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Friend list will be implemented later today in a second build. Judas 22:44, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
adding (NYI) into the page to show that its not been implemented then :) feel free to change back if this is wrong --Firadesunna 22:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I hope this friend list update gets fixed so that you can switch of the feature, otherwise it is perfect tool for stalking. It is our own private right to share or not share where we are and what we do. It feels like having satellite over our heads... And ruins the element of good fortune and surprise to actually run into someone by chance..
I second that. Dear ANet, please implement a toggle so one can disable this Big Brother is Watching You feature. If one of my friends needs to know where I am s/he can ask me. I don't need/want the game to do that automatically. 16:33, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm with ya about that. I don't think it's quite 1984 but still annoying - I wanna decide which of my friends knows where I am atm. So please ANet, add a switch to disable that **** feature. Thanks! 16:36, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
^ Someone's paranoid. If you don't want even your friends to know where you are, why do you have any friends?-- 02:26, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
ive had people randomly add me and start following me around, who would want to let them know where you are? Getefix 07:40, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
So don't add them back, then they won't see where you are! It's only showed for mutual friends. 08:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
on my friend lists are not only friends but also customers, or other guild leaders, and still it is my own right to share the information where and when i am with who and when i want to --The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

(Reset indent) Currently the only way to not show your presence to mutual friends is either to not play the game, or set your status to offline. You don't have the "right" otherwise, this is a video game. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 13:24, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

I feel like a human centi-pad now. 19:37, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I also have a bit of a beef with this one, since I have a few people I talk with occasionally, but don't exactly enjoy their "company" and don't have them on my FL. They apparently do have me on theirs, since it's always them starting the convo. Me wanting to ignore them will be even more obvious now. Oh well. :D razor39999 22:39, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Razah is implemented[edit]

Ignore my previous question, he's there. Just enter the Heart of Abaddon without him and he's right there outside the portal. Judas 22:44, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm confused, I already had Razah, what's changed? 22:55, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
^above is me, forgot to log in Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 22:55, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Figured it out, do not have him in your party, go speak to Keeper Shafoss to get entry to the Abaddons Gate then Razah is right there and you speak to him to change his profession. Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 23:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Ahahaha, wow. They finally implemented that feature, 5 years later. Next they'll be giving the Ancient Weapon a proper use. – NuclearDuckie 23:47, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I REALLY hope this doesn't mean we'll never get a 4th FEMALE ele. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 00:00, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
The only reason why it was implemented now and not with NF was because the ability to have heroes changing primary professions wasn't made for release, and then was forgotten until the mercenary heroes were made. Razah now basically acts like a merc hero with a stuck name and model. -- Konig/talk 00:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I know Linsey was asked about it at least once, and answered, I don't think anyone "forgot" about it. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 00:50, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
By "forgotten" I meant "no one bothered working on it." -- Konig/talk 00:55, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Does the profession's change remove his prestige armor ?-- 00:53, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

No. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 00:59, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
But carefull, he works now like Mercenary heroes, he'll lose any profession-specific armor upgrades when you change his profession, so make sure to take out those runes and insignia before you turn him into another necromancer. I'll make him paragon just for the sake of watching that funny way male ritualists have of throwing spears. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 01:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Haha, good one! Personally, I'm gonna make him my fourth ele, so I can finally have one set up for each element! 08:15, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Then you're going to give Morgahn or Keiran "The Power is Yours!", right? -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 11:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Humm... I don't know if anyone else had this but my Razah got stripped off all his runes and insignia's... and I didn't change his profession or anything. Logged in, P00F stuff gone. I almost never use him so it's not really a problem though. Waar Kijk Je NaarUser Waar Kijk Je Naar sig.png 16:17, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Thankfully, mine didn't (he's holding a nice green and has 30+k in runes on). -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 16:38, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Villainy of Galrath[edit]

Hard Mode quest? Is it supposed to be Master quest? --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 22:50, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah it appears that it doesn't actually have anything to do with HM. Must have been a mistake in the articles. 22:56, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
no mistake, there should be a hard mode version after you complete the normal mode one.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 23:01, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Hm yeah my bad. Even though the quest description says nothing about it, you actually need to manually turn hard mode on for the quest to work. That's an oversight if I've ever seen one. 23:05, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Here is what I found on this quest: You'll need to have completed the quest in normal mode first, after which you can talk to Firstwatch Sergio while in hard mode. Raminator Chick Pain Inverter.jpgTalk 23:06, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I was in NM and he gave me the quest, now at Master Difficulty and with different reward. A toon I just got to LA gets the old version whether in NM or HM. So mode has nothing to do with it. Ramei Arashi 23:11, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Did your new toon complete the quest first in NM? Raminator Chick Pain Inverter.jpgTalk 23:19, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Toon new to LA hasn't done it yet. I tried both modes, it only offers him the old version but toon that did old version is offered the new version even in NM. Ramei Arashi 23:42, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Galrath is Level 40 in HM ~ Almighty Ancalagon ~ 00:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah plus there's now about 80 bandits rather than 8, and they are all level 30 with varied dual-class builds and resses.(marsc 23:21, 28 April 2011 (UTC))

Galrath WILL NOT APPEAR in NM if you have the HM version of the quest. It will show that the quest is active and will lead you to his area but it will be Verata and her crew on the hill instead of Galrath ~ Almighty Ancalagon ~ 00:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

I completed this long ago in prophesies in 2009. I see no difference in the quest info besides being master difficulty. And i seem to be able to grab it in NM or HM. Do I have to do it all over again in NM? 20:15, 29 April 2011 (UTC) Yumiko Ishida.

Appears that you can get the HardMode quest immediately on getting reward for NormalMode. If you stay in NormalMode you can travel to Kessex Peak and kill everything, but not earn reward. Only if you do the HM quest in HM will you get the reward. In HM, the bandits are spawned in groups of 10 (at least) with powerful healers. There are enough healers that simple interruptions seem to be very ineffective. The other foes don't seem to be much stronger than usual HM enemies.

Yeah Ive spent the last 30 minutes of that quest standing around and just aggroing those last 5 groups, picking foes off one by one. Those healers are cheaters plus almost every other mob has some sort of res. It's way too frustrating IMO and the monks seriously need to be nerfed. 21:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm getting an error when I try to open GW... I had already instaled the 1st update, then the message "A new build is available" appeared and I closed the game. Now every time I open it an error message pops up and asks me to send a report to ArenaNet.

Is it just me? -- 23:16, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I just had to do a reinstall to get the first update to install an dnow it's just hanging on the connecting to ArenaNet screen. On anotehr note anyone got any idea what the earlier (pre noon GMT) undocumented update was about.Dakota 23:23, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

High Definition[edit]

Fucking finally. I was about to release a texmod pack that had higher resolution textures. Now I can actually run something decent on my cards. :3 →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 01:27, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

High definition textures on other players was the only remaining update I wanted. I'm so glad they did this. Thank you ANET!!-- 01:37, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
There were already high definition textures available for years - see [[1]]. I added it as a note since the in game thing is literally the same, yet trivia is not allowed for updates? Stupid. That mod is the first thing I thought of. Previously Unsigned 07:11, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
the proper place for that trivia would be here-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 07:21, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I thought I'd run into the same problem again so didn't bother. Guess I'll add it again. Previously Unsigned 07:23, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

You must restart to see high-resolution textures, although the game does not remind you of this if you select the option in the control panel.[edit]

yea i didn't have to restart to see them so....-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 01:33, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Neither did I-- 01:38, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Changing the district is enough. –User ARTy sig.png 01:44, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Mine just does it on the fly. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 01:55, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
A bunch of random people and I tried the option and it would NOT work for unless restarting, hence why I added the note. There was like 7 people and none said it worked, restarting did however. Previously Unsigned 07:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
well me and 7 other people got it to work with out having to do anything.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 07:15, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
That's why the note says some users. My screen blinks like it did something, but no change. Are you on Nvidia by chance? Previously Unsigned 07:16, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Heh, so apparently it does and doesn't work when enabled/disabled. I started watching new entering people in an area. Current people's textures stay the same but people arriving get the new options. Seems zone change works too. Somebody can change the note. Previously Unsigned 07:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
God damn this game is coded well. 21:05, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

HD Textures - how to check if they work?[edit]

Maybe I'm blind (not ruling that out), but there seems to be no effect. I restarted the game to be sure - nothing. What exactly is meaned by "You need an HD monitor"? Are there any obvious changes, like different design or color? --Cyberman User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif 04:32, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

No. Up til now, the textures on other players' characters have been turned down so people with low-end video cards could handle all the graphics running around, not to mention the effect it has on internet speed (if there is any). If you came across another character that was the same prof and gender and wearing the same armor as you and stood next to him, you would notice a difference. You would be able to see lots of details on your char, but somewhat blurred lines on the other guy. This update changes all other chars to be as detailed as you. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 05:06, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
The monitor thing in the notes is redundant / not true. I hope nobody minds if I remove it. 06:22, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, telling people they need a "HD" monitor is an old trolling technique which has no place here. – NuclearDuckie 06:30, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Friends List looks cluttered[edit]

Friends lists now look cluttered with the name you have players added as, the name of the character they're on, and their location. Could we please have the location appear slightly darker or a different color just to help distinguish at a glance? -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 05:58, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

You could just make the party list smaller. Previously Unsigned 06:28, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
