Dyes and pvp items.

Could an option be added to not change the dye when updating pvp items? Not a real big deal, it's just annoying. --Draygo Korvan 05:35, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

I'll make a note of this, but as you say it's fairly low priority. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 19:19, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
i would actuality like it if you guys added the missing colors and or dyes to the pvp syetem...- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:10, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Snowball Arena

Hi! Me again about the same topic.

Please tell me that syncing in Snowball Arena will be fixed before going live.--SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 06:40, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Of course it won't be. The fix deployed to help syncing in RA was to increase the pool of players, it didn't change how people were pulled from the queue. A big if is attached to "did that same change apply to snowball arena too?" which is really moot since RA can still be synced. They don't yet have a "proper" fix to the issue in one of their most heavily played formats, they won't do all the work for a mere seasonal side game. Not being harsh, not bashing on Joe, simple truth of the matter. 68.32.65.101 20:31, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately the various PvP matchmaking systems are outside of my control, but I'll check in with the relevant teams and see if the sync 'fix' is set up for Snowball Arena. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 19:16, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Who is Dhuum?

You may or may not know this, you may or may not want to tell us, and some people may get mad for "taking the easy way out," but what's his primary profession? Both wikis are trying to figure it out, but it's not going well, we can't seem to get past the "Necro or Dervish?" debate, and it may be a long long time before we see a tome drop, since he's not usually killed in normal UW play. TIA. <3 User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 16:28, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

I hope he's a dervish, it would make sense too :P--Unendingfear File:User Unendingfear Crane eats peanut.jpg 17:22, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Despite the hurdles involved in defining the Mouth at the Edge of Darkness as having a 'profession', I've taken a look, and Dhuum is technically a Dervish. However, he doesn't actually benefit from any profession's primary attribute, so tome drops aside it's more or less a moot point. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 19:06, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Yay ^_^--Unendingfear File:User Unendingfear Crane eats peanut.jpg 22:48, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Knowledge is never moot! Well, unless it overloads your brain and makes it explode... User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 00:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Any chance you can tell/find what profession the Minion of Dhuum and Champion of Dhuum are? I'm thinking Warrior at least for the Champion (due to the axe), but would love clarification (and am I right in that they have no non-passive skills? At least in Normal Mode). Thanks in advance. -- Konig/talk 22:17, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
They're Warriors, and as far as I know are skill-less. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 23:15, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you Joe. -- Konig/talk 23:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Unless somebody has asked this from you before, what about Shiro and Abaddon? Thanks in advance. Mediggo 19:41, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Shiro drops Assassin tomes; he is an assassin. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 20:35, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Joe can confirm, but I believe Abaddon drops Elementalist Tomes. -- Konig/talk 03:06, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

LDoA Monument

I understand that when a character earns the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, that character has to go to the Hall of Monuments in order to display it in the Monument of Honor. Is this intentional? Are there currently any plans to change this, possibly to display it with the account-wide accomplishments without moving the character out of Pre-Searing Ascalon? I know that this is probably the only title that requires such a change in order to display it, since its requirements are pretty unique, so it might be low-priority... Still, I like having a high-level character in Pre-Searing and I wouldn't want to have to do it again, so for people like me, it's a choice between having a Pre-Searing character and another monument. Thanks! --RoyHarmon 20:53, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

I think I've heard this problem before; it's 'intentional' to the extent that this isn't a bug, but I agree that it would be suitable to let players put the title in their Hall without leaving Pre-Sear. I'll keep this in mind and ask the designers if they have any thoughts on the issue. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 23:20, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Maybe you could have a pre-searing version of Kimmes the Historian in Ascalon City that can interact with LDoA characters to allow their pre-searing accomplishments to be displayed in the HoM for that account. (Satanael | talk) 16:47, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Use Gwen. She seems to be popular in pre, she's already got a reason to be in the monument. She could be in awe of your powers as a young girl and dedicate a monument in your honor. Keeps with storyline, avoids a new NPC, makes sense, links her more strongly to the future, etc. 68.32.65.101 00:16, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to add a pre-sear Kimmes the Historian, but that's just my vanity. Gwen is tricky though - believe it or not, pre-sear Gwen is one of the more complicated things in Prophecies, code-wise. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 23:00, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Wouldn't he spend most of his time drinking himself into a stupor and failing out of any class that actually required attendance? ··· Danny Pew Pew 23:16, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
LDoA isn't remotely difficult. I got to level 18 before deciding that pulling Charr then letting my computer sit for a day at a time was about as boring as it could possibly get. It's really about as difficult as Incorrigible Ale Hound or Savior of the Luxons/Kurzicks, except you don't actually have to collect any alcohol for it or actually play the game. ··· Danny Pew Pew 23:12, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

(Reset indent) You could have Kimmes the Student spend all of his time smoking Iboga Petals with Herbalist Umjabwe, talking about the injustice of the ascalonian legal system and the vast conspiracy against the importation of Ibolga-related products in order to protect the Charr Hide industry. The Seer and Infusion

If you carry a Spectral Essence to the Seer with infused armor, then it completely wastes the essence. So if you have additional/backup sets of armor that you want to infuse, you have to remember to equip it BEFORE you give the essence to the Seer. Instead, is it possible to make it so when you give the essence to the Seer, it triggers an option dialogue where you can choose to infuse your armor, kind of like the option to accept a quest reward? This will allow you to give him the essence, equip other armor you want infused, talk to him again, and click the infuse option. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.pngTalk 03:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

So, in essence, you want the Seer himself to remind you to equip uninfused armor after you just spent two minutes jogging to him with a dinosaur turd in your arms? O_o User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 12:14, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
/cookie --adrin User Adrin mysig.jpg 12:21, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, Rose, pretty much. lol Actually, its not always just a jog. Sometimes you have to fight your way to the Seer, even after picking up the spectral essence, ie: in Mineral Springs and the Ring of Fire mission. In these cases, it might be preferable to wear your already infused armor until you're done fighting your way to the Seer, and by then, its very possible that you've forgotten to switch armors, and you just wasted the valuable dinosaur turd. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.pngTalk 02:44, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Mineral Springs is rarely used, and the mission Seers are usually clear. Either you're clearing the way first (Ring of Fire bonus), or the Seer is in a relatively safe area (as in Abaddon's Mouth), and they don't have Mursaat around them either way. You don't get asked twice if you accidentally merch a black dye for 1g, this is the same way. ;) User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 16:31, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

White Jingle Moa classification

Since Linsey's page is once again locked, and since this could be considered code-related, I'm posting here before I forget. I was wondering why the White Jingle Moa, even after its name was corrected in yesterday's update, is still classified as an Exotic pet in the Zaishen Menagerie? The Jingle Bear is classified as Tyrian, and since both of them are obtained in exactly the same manner and exactly the same location, it doesn't make sense for them to be classified differently. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 17:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

This is indeed a bug and is already assigned to me for fixing - it's just low priority since it's just a categorization issue. The White Jingle Moa was set up in the Menagerie before it was available in-game, so when it was initially coded it didn't have a definite category and got stuck in 'exotic'. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 18:09, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Cool, thanks for the quick response! —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 17:44, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello Joe!

Please read this! This is a very important issue. Do you know when the hero flag pointers were updated to have little arrows with them? Or w/e was added. Thank you! - Mini Me talk 18:42, 22 December 2009

The relevant code and art files haven't been changed since Nightfall launched. - Joe Kimmes Talk Page‎ 19:16, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, that works. I don't remember them being different (not that I really paid attention to them), thanks! - Mini Me talk 19:17, 22 December 2009
One used to pick up the flag and on the compass it would remain a flag. You would try to guess where the base of it was. It seems that the cursor changed into the flag, where as now the flag is added to the cursor. Perhaps this would not appear as a change, or perhaps some other more general change occurred elsewhere that caused this as a byproduct. Or perhaps I am indeed rife with Alzheimer's, but I think some people remember it being just the flag to place on the compass. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (UTC) 21:01, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, I remember it always having an arrow, and the arrow doesn't always pont at EXACTLY where you want it to go, I seem to recall... or am I mixing memories? Golly Gee Darn, now you've got me second-guessing myself xD But I'm pretty sure the arrow has always been there...--User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 rawr 05:17, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
I remember it as just the flag, with the bottom corner of the triangle being the drop point. 24.197.253.243 05:42, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
^ | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (UTC) 05:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
I do believe the IP above me is correct. I also seem to remember compass waypoints aligning with the bottom point of the flag part (the post of the flag was hung below, the body of the flag was above and right). 68.32.65.101 06:38, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Command Line

Hey Joe, in light of the new security update, I was wondering if there was going to be/if it was possible to add a new command line. Those of us who, in the past, used shortcuts to access our multiple accounts now run into the little wall where, when you try to switch accounts, the old character name entry is still there and the box stating "We don't recognise your account information" pops up. If it's at all possible to add a command line that fills the character name box, that would be most appreciated! :D If it's not, well, back to teh good ol' days of manually typing everything in. Thanks in advance for any feedback you're able to provide! :D --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 rawr 20:57, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Oh wow... That was fast... either that was already in the works when I posted this or that was the fastest response I've seen in a while. 0.o This next time when I logged in, what do I find? Why, a new command line! :D Thanks to everyone over there :D --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 rawr 05:14, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Well, I asked, because I don't like self invites or whispers when I'm in Balthazar. It makes it harder to ignore that stuff when trying to choose what my char. look like. I paid for the stuff and I figure it'd help with the pve characters too, make it easier for those that have one campaign and can't get to Balthazar yet. -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 19:14, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
