Charr Hides are salvage items that drop from all Charr in Ascalon, both before and after The Searing.

Acquisition[edit]

Drop and salvage research is ongoing, and can be found here.

Farming[edit]

Fort Ranik

This mission contains only Charr foes. Simply run through the mission in normal mode until you reach the area with Siegemaster Lormar and the trebuchets, killing all the Charr along the way. Instead of helping Lormar and using the trebuchets, simply attack the massive groups of Charr gathered where the trebuchet shots would land. A solo player with appropriate survival skills can easily gather a full set of five hides and more over the course of a single run of the mission. Blocking skills are especially helpful since most of the Charr's damage will come from physical attacks.

Nolani Academy

You can pull the lever at the start of the mission to allow the Charr in. Multiple groups of melee Charr can be farmed here in normal mode very easily using blocking skills or AoE blindness. There are some builds that can gather up all the Charr in the area (boss included) even in hard mode, mainly casters with heavy damage mitigation and anti-knockdown skills.

Notes[edit]

  • Four hides share the Charr Hide's inventory icon: Snowy Centaur, Centaur, Losaru and Dolyak.
  • If you want to convert Charr Hides into Fur Squares, take them to Calissa Sedgwick rather than salvaging them. Ongoing research suggests it would take salvaging approximately 100 hides to create 12 Fur Squares (at a cost of 1Platinum 600Gold in Expert Salvage Kits), whereas Sedgwick only needs 48 hides to produce the same amount of Fur Squares (at no cost).
Anomaly Anomaly.Unlike most stackable salvage items, Charr Hides have a collector.
