That isn't how an account merge works. All I can do is take the contributions from one account and credit them to another. So for example, I could take the contributions from User:Rambutaan and credit them to User:Rambutaan1. I cannot access an account you have lost/forgotten the password for. If you did not put in an email address for password recovery, the account is not recoverable. Misery 12:47, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

I have no idea how you managed to do that unintentionally, but I have merged the two accounts. This just means that your actions are now both stored on the User:Coil account. All you need to do to prevent this occuring again is not log in to the User:Coil. account. Also, the acount databases are linked between GWW and GW2W, so to use User:Coil, you just have to log in using the same password as you use here. If you have a lot of edits on the tobomergedto account and want them merged across you need to ask them to do that there as I do not have bureaucratic rights over there (or even know if they do that or what the process is). I removed the Caoimhe signature - the signatures here are supposed to be made using the account itself to confirm both accounts are owned by the same person; just linking to the name doesn't achieve the same result. Obviously, as you've forgotten that account's password, you're not able to do that. However, since the contributions on the Caoimhe account are only to guild- and userpages, I doubt that the bureaucrats require confirmation. -- pling 23:14, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

User merge only merges your contributions/logs into the new user account. All pages stay at the old location, so yes, everything will have to be moved, although I don't see a problem with leaving most of the things behind (like normal user images) as you still own the old account then. poke | talk 21:44, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Firstly, we'd need to find out if unregistered accounts can be merged into registered accounts. Secondly, we'd have to be sure that all the contributions for the IP have been made by you, which we can't be for definite. Both of these are making me hesitate to carry out the merge - even if unregistered → registered does work, the second is still cause for concern. Unregistered to registered should work; on the concern, what about requiring IPs to sign twice, maybe one month after the first, to prove that the IP really is static. Of course that won't help against proxys but then it can be based on the contributions of the IP. poke | talk 13:08, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure how consistently we'd be able to prove it, but in this case, the contribs are pretty clearly all Ariyen's. The first 2 contribs are manually signed as Ariyen, and later talk page edits are followed up quickly by edits from the account to change the signature. - Tanetris 16:10, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Oh yes please. Keeping redirects is OK, it will be useful for my main userpage and talk page as well as my templates, some people actually use them. Is moving my images possible too? I'll re-tag them myself for proper categorization in Category:User images. :D Also my suggestions can stay where they are, I need to move them to the feedback namespace anyway, or you can move them if that makes coding the bot operation easier. — Why 19:53, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps it'd be best if I moved them myself. My main concern was the RC spam moving the images will cause, but as I need to change the {{user image|Why Are We Fighting}} to {{user image|Why}} there will be RC spam anyway, so the merit of botting this action is limited, I think. Unless doing this with wikichu has some benefit I don't know of. You're the botmaster, not me :) — Why 22:08, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
