Using the demo
i got the guild wars demo and have verified my email, done everything and when i try to log in it says that i cant but the only thing i leave out is my character name cause i havn't played the game before --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.173.233.182 (talk).
- Make sure your Account Name is your email address, the one you verified. Your Password is the password you've chosen. If you have not created a character yet, then leave the Security Question blank. You can also reference any error codes you're getting. G R E E N E R 03:50, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Only Four Character Slots Appear When Re-installing
I have recently reinstalled Guild Wars on a new PC after having not played for a while. I have all the expansions, including Eye of North, but only 4 out of 8 character slots have appeared. This worries me because I know I have more characters than just the four that are now appearing to me. I have old screen shots to prove this as well and I am very concerned that my characters are now lost. Could Nightfall not be installed properly?
Can anyone help me with this? I would really appreciate it. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.11.30.122 (talk).
- Just to be clear, you entered your old Account Name, Password and a character name for your Security Question, and you're only presented with only four character slots? Are the character slots filled? Something doesn't seem right about this scenario.
- Or are you saying that you had an old account, installed it again on a new PC AND installed a new campaign at the same time? If it's this case, then my guess is that you did not add your new campaign onto your old account properly. The proper method would have been to sign into the game with your old account information, and add the new campaign key on the lower-left hand corner of the character select screen.
- Third possibility: use the -image option as a Command line argument, just to make sure that you have all data for the game. It'll take a while to download all of it.
- Either way, Contact Support, and give them as much clear information as possible. G R E E N E R 04:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Lack of cartography progress
Have not seen this problem before. The account on one of my characters seems to have a bug. As she travels, her exploration title remains the same. She has traveled far and wide in Tyria and the title stays at 39.2%. Have not gone back to Cantha or Elona to check exploration there. This has not happened with any of my other characters. Have been playing for 3 1/2 yrs. Have been spending most of my time in Tyria. Went from Eye of North to Rata Sum, Gadds, Oolas, The Charr lands and still 39.2%. Any help would be appreciated. The Pearl —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.73.64.174 (talk • contribs) at 18:30, 16 January 2011 (UTC).
- Areas in Eye of the North (Rata, Gadds, Oolas, ...) do not contribute to your Tyrian Cartography score. Sounds as if you are missing large parts of Prophecies; you can test this by unlocking a previously unvisited outpost (and an easy way to do this would be buying a run or doing one of the missions). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:40, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. You are right! It's EoN mastery points, not cartography. Let's just chalk this one off to a "Bug in my Brain" :)! Thanks Much for your response.
- You're quite welcome. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 07:32, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Can you still use Guild Wars Pre Order Key Codes? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.199.185.5 (talk).
- Without having a copy of one on hand, I do not know if there is an expiry date that came with them. There would never be a duplicate of any GW key, and they can only be used once. If you are having issues with one, and you believe that is should still work, Contact Support. G R E E N E R 08:33, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Resetting password
Hello, i an trying to reset my guild wars password, but I am not getting any email with the new password!!!!!!!!!! I have waited 24 hours, contacted support several times, and they don't say anything!!! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.226.240.87 (talk).
- First, calm down; panicking does nothing. Second, we are not Anet, so we have no control over your account; we can only offer suggestions. Third, contacting support "several times" does not help, as setting up one ticket, and giving them simple, clear information about your account and situation is the best approach. Spamming them only disrupts their work.
- All that being said, when you open a support ticket, you should receive an automated response from Anet confirming that they have received your ticket. If you have not received any such automated response, then you have done something wrong, such as entering in the wrong email. If you have received an automated response, then sit down and wait. It will likely take a couple of business days for them to sort out the situation and reply back to you. G R E E N E R 17:45, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
account login
Hello i just bought guildwars to mess around on while i wait for guild wars 2 to come out.. i was making character names and then entering game and then logging out to delete the character and remake to change name around a bit (testing names) i made like 3 chars and then deleted them all.... on the 4th char i was going to make i got to where it has you enter name now i had type a couple things in there dont really remember if i deleted the letters before alt tabbing but i alt tabbed to search the net and the game crashed. right after that happened i havnt been able to log back in (code-227) i changed password like 3 times i even typed in the character names that i deleted and it still wont connect i sent ncsoft an email on there support page and they havnt dont anything! can anyone at least tell me what may have happened or a potential way to fix this! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.229.146.56 (talk).
- Please take a look at the rest of this page and notice the sheer number of people with the same problem as you or quite similar problems. Then please realise that not everyone who has a problem posts here. That equals a ton of people trying to contact official support (which we are not), so therefore please be patient in waiting for a reply from Anet's official support. It used to take around three days for them to get back to people, but with the huge influx of problems from this ridiculous "You need to remember a character name in order to login!" the wait time for a response has gone way up. So, in short, patience, grasshopper. --Dragon Nataku 11:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Access key not working
my acess key doesn't work —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 78.180.94.65 (talk • contribs) at 20:54, 28 February 2011 (UTC).
- Access keys are one-time use only. If you already made an account previously, then use the login information you entered when creating the account, even if you reinstalled the game. You don't have to enter the key again. If you bought a used access key, then you'll have to take it to the person that sold it to you. Like I said, keys are one-time use only, and thus are worthless after use, and can't be sold. If you bought a new, sealed game in a retail store, on Steam or the NCstore and the key doesn't work then contact support. — Poki#3 (talk) 03:38, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Can't login after deleting a character
My friend just got GW last night. He played a Ritualist at first but he didnt like him but it was pretty late so he deleted the ritualist and logged off. Now he can't login because of the security question (he has no character). He tried leaving it blank or trying an old character. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.30.48.149 (talk • contribs) at 04:04, 3 March 2011 (UTC).
- That's strange. If he really has no characters on the account you should be able to login by leaving the field blank. If you're sure you don't have any characters and can't login, contact support. — Poki#3 (talk) 08:40, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Name
every name i put on the acount name is taken. CAN YOU GIVE ME ONE NO ONE USED?

Old Account = New Account?
Do you think it is ok for me to ask Gw/Ncsoft if they can destroy my old account and give me a new account for a fresh start? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 78.149.81.62 (talk).
- You may ask, but I can reasonably assure you that the response will be a "no". The most that you can hope to do in terms of getting a fresh start is emptying your storage and deleting your characters. G R E E N E R 01:29, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Multiple CE codes on one account
Whilst on a break from GW my account was stolen and my Collectors Edition mini pets sold off. I've acquired another Nightfall CE in a sale and wanted to know if I add the CE Key from it to my existing account will I be able to use the /bonus to get another mini pet or will the game still just see me as having used it previously and not give me the pet from the new CE?
The only other way I can see around it is creating a new account with the new CE code and trading the pet to my main account, which seems like a lot of hassle. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.128.74.217 (talk).
- I'd go with the alternate, though you may want to ask support if you really think it's that much of a hassle. I don't think your first solution would actually work, and if it were me, I wouldn't chance it. -- FreedomBound 00:06, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- And with two accounts, you can also get double Nick gifts on weeks he is in Elona! :D --★KOKUOU★ 00:41, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not even sure you could add a second CE code. You'd be better off to make a new account out of it.-- Pyron Sy 00:43, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sure you can't add a second key for the same thing. The only thing you can add multiples of are things inherently made to stack, like character slots. In other cases, the game will say you already have that option added to your account, and will refuse to add it so you won't waste it. In the case you have a basic game and want to add a CE version of it, it'll come up and say that part of the key will be wasted and if you're completely sure you want to add it.
- So yeah, best thing you can do is make a 2nd account and get a friend to trade it to your main. — Poki#3 (talk) 02:21, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, if you have a trusted friend you can give them the code so they can add them to their account and get the extra bonuses if they give you your mini back. Or if you don't have a friend that plays Guild Wars you can ask your friends if anyone is interested in getting an account. I think that's a better use of the extra code then using it in the hopes of a few extra nick gifts or as mules... — Poki#3 (talk) 02:25, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not even sure you could add a second CE code. You'd be better off to make a new account out of it.-- Pyron Sy 00:43, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

- Here's a quick summary of the advice:
- You cannot add a game again to your account.
- You may create a new account; this has the advantage of allowing you to mule in pre and obtain extra gifts from the two Nicks (as well as add a leecher to various other activities for increased rewards). It also creates additional storage. There are some headaches associated with two accounts.
- You can give the code to a very trusted friend who doesn't already have Nightfall and ask them to give you the bonus item when they reach a town.
- Here's a quick summary of the advice:
- Did I miss anything? — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:38, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the input. I'll go with creating a new account (all of my friends that play GW already have CE versions). Thanks again. - Tav

when i bought the game two days ago this was written into the original purchase email right above the pass key for the game the sentence starting with this game has 3 license available how do i utilize all three license that are available i have two lap tops and it says i should be able to use this key on up to three computers correct me if i am wrong and if not how do i use it on another computer it wont let me activate it on more than on computer i can access the first activation on both computers but how do i activate the key another time when i try it says this pass key is already in use i have only activated it once
- That message sounds like some kind of DRM information. Some PC DRM can be very strict as to the amount of times you can install the game (though they usually give you 1 use back if you properly uninstall the game). I don't understand how this related to Guild Wars. The game client is free on the Guild Wars website for anyone to download and install how many times they want. The Access Key is 1 use only, but the account created using that key can be used however long you want and loged in from however many computers you have (just not at once). It has no relation to the amount of times you can install the game.
- Just install the game, create an account and login on the same account if you want to play on the other computer. In what online shop did you buy the game? They may limit the amount of times you can download the game from their store front, but like I said, you can always get the game on the main Guild Wars website if you need it. — Poki#3 (talk) 20:20, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
yes i know all of that but why would they tell me i have three license available if i can only use it one time i bought the key from game stop so maybe i have to try them next if cant get for sure answer here, hypothetical when i bought a security program for my pc it had 4 license available meaning that the pass key for the program could be used on four computers at the same time not like a windows program where i could be only used for one computer after registration the security program was for four computers so why cant i get this license to activate the other two times as specified in the bill of sale does that clear up thing i hope please help
- You can play Guild Wars on however many computers you want, just not at once. The account you make can be used on any computer (just login, don't enter the key again). The info you got must have been just an oversight in their automated system. If you need the client you can find it here [1]. — Poki#3 (talk) 20:45, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Regardless, as many other people have said, you can install the game client on as many computers as you want from free using the link Poki provided, and then just login with the one account you apparently already created. --Dragon Nataku 18:38, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Account Reset
I played guild wars about 4 years ago and got pretty far and I've only just picked it back up again and I found that all of the skills I previously unlocked are still there and all of the money/items are in my xulai (or however you spell that) are still there as well. I was wondering if it was possible to reset my account to re-earn those skills/items/money, because i enjoy the struggle and adventure to obtain those things. Feels kind of like a cheat to have all those things available to a new character.
--69.225.234.205 06:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- First off, please make a new topic for your unrelated topic instead of tacking on to someone else's topic; otherwise it can get a bit confusing. In regards to money/items, you could just drag everything into your trash bin in your Inventory menu and/or drop it on the ground in an explorable area and then leave the area to get rid of them. In terms of skills you can't re-lock them, however you could just start a new character and don't use any skill tomes to learn skills. Otherwise, Anet doesn't do account resets, that I know of. You'd still keep your titles though but that only really matters for account-wide titles I suppose. I hope that helps! -Dragon Nataku 11:08, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Help?!
My friend downloaded all of the guildwars games on his vomputer and he used my account to try it out, now he wants his own avvount, does he have to buy 1 guildwars game ? Or does he still have to buy all of them? How can he set up his account to create a new one? Thank you for your help!
- He can buy the game from an online or brick/mortar retailer; inside the box, he'll find a key code. Using his current game installation, he can start up guild wars and use the "create an account" option (towards the bottom), which will guide him through the account setup process. (It's also possible to buy the game from ANet/NCSoft using their online store, but it's more expensive — you can get Prophecies for US$5-10 from various online sites.)
- He can purchase as many or as few of the campaigns as he likes. Have fun! — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:59, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
What will transfer from GW1 to GW2?
will all of our weapons armor charictors and money transfer from gw1 to gw2
- No, nothing will be transferred. If you link your GW1 account to your GW2 account, you will be able to claim titles accrued in your Hall of Monuments and (ANet has said) also reserve character names. Depending on how many accomplishments, you might also have access to bonus items. Details have not yet been released. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:03, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Actually they were :P Go to http://hom.guildwars2.com and type in your character name. You'll see how many points you have, what items you get, and also what items you can game, how many points you need to get them, and what do you need to do to get points. You have to have the Eye of the North expansion, as this only lists achievements added to your Hall of Monuments. — Poki#3 (talk) 02:45, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Soz, I meant ANet hasn't published details about how to link accounts or reserve character names. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:50, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
acces key help
o.k..i just baought a guild wars game..and the acces key say it doesnt work...what should i do...?
- Is there any chance the game was used? If yes, the key is probably already in use. If not, contact support and provide them with the access key; they'll take it from there. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:29, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- It depends on where the game was bought as to the possibility of it being used. If ebay, chances are possible. Though I'm unsure that support would help, I feel it'd depend on where you bought it. I hope this helps. Kaisha 06:13, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Also, please note that a lot of the letters/numbers on those things look very very similar. I remember with one of my access keys it took me like five tries to get it to work. This has happened to me with other GuildWars access keys as well. Letters/numbers like B and 8, O and 0, things like that. Just try to switch between the letters and numbers that look similar and try again. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 12:53, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
naming a character
ok, so i was making a guild war name for my character and there was an x where it said to include two or more words. i did but it never changed and i don't know what to do it wont let me play. WHAT DO I DO?!!!??!!!
- You need to do what it says. Your character name must consist of 2 or more words. So you can't make a character called "Example", but you can make a character named "Good Example". Be creative. I recommend using a "Name Surname" variant, and having most or all of your characters be "from the same family". — Poki#3 (talk) 03:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Just to clarify it a bit more, the game doesn't count something like "Goodexample" as two words. Basically, GuildWars redefines the term "two words" to mean any two strings of letters separated by a space. So technically they wouldn't even have to be real words as long as there's a space between them. So even something like "Lksd Wkjf" counts as two words for the purposes of naming a character. The only other rule (besides using only English letters) is that there have to be three or more letters in the entire name (so, you can do "I AM" for your char name but not "I M"). Oh, and of course, you can't use a name that someone else has already used. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 14:44, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Used game
can i buy the game used, like on amazon, and play it on my computer with a new account?
- short answer: don't buy used.
- You can download the software for free.
- If you buy it used, the access code is almost certainly already in-use (meaning you would have to pay again to start an account)
- — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:39, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- To add some quick clarification:
- You don't have to buy CD's or other hardware. The official site allows you to download the software.
- In order to play that software, you have to buy an access code, which can only be used once. If someone else has used it, you can't use it.

I've forgotten everything to do with Guild Wars.
I've already contacted NCsoft with my CD-Key explaining that I can't remember my e-mail that I used, password or character name, they only gave me a hint about the e-mail saying it ended in hotmail.com, I really can't remember the e-mail I used and I fear the one I did use has been deleted or is invalid, is there any possible way I could get them to still post me the details? It really does suck that I'm now locked out of my account as I created it so long ago. Thanks.
- You can re-open your ticket and request more info I suppose. If you're really backed up into a corner you can try contacting Gaile Gray. If you have an account on the wiki you can click "E-mail this user" in the toolbox to your left when on her page. Make sure to give the support ticket number. — Poki#3 (talk) 00:35, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- They aren't necessarily planning on emailing you at the old address; they are simply looking for more evidence that you are who you claim to be. I don't think it will matter if the original email address you use is deleted or invalid. If you aren't sure of the exact spelling, give them 2-3 alternatives (and, for that matter, if there's any chance you remember even a partial version of your toon names, send them that, too.)
- I'm a little surprised, though, since I thought having the CD-Key trumped having the name and email address. Good luck. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:02, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- They don't want to give out account info to someone that may have purchased a used cd key. That's why they're giving hints instead of straight up giving the information. -- FreedomBound 12:22, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- @92.273 If you can remember any username you might have used with "hotmail", that might help you out. I think you can recreate your email, assuming the spammers haven't taken it. Once in, if you have any luck with that, then I'd suggest changing emails with ncsoft, guildwars, etc. to your new/current one, but you might have to remember the old one to get into the game (I don't know if NcSoft can change the "username" or not, I'd check into that if I was you). I hope this might give some help to you. Kaisha 13:59, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Not receiving automated response
I found that I could not log in, getting an error 045, and sent a support ticket through the website, recieving no automatic response. I sent an email support message, and again recieved no response! What can I do? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.16.4.254 (talk).
- Automated responses are simply that: automated. There are a couple of things to look for.
- Check your spam/junk folder in your email. Some things do go there.
- Give it some time. I can't imagine why it would take more than an hour for the automated response, but some time is needed.
- Did you use your proper email address? And yes, I did read your 2nd sentence, but just checking.
- If you haven't received it yet, you can either write back here for further suggestions from us players, or you can swing by Feedback talk:Gaile Gray/Support Issues, and ask her to look into the situation. G R E E N E R 01:24, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

quest/mission history :)
how can you find out what quests/missions you have completed? is there a way to view your quest/mission history for each character on your account and if not, is that something that guild wars would consider implementing? i thank you for any information, have a great day and fun in the game. :)

- There is no way to currently keep track of it in the game. You can suggest for it to be implemented in the Feedback portal, though I know others have already suggested, some directly to the devs. --ஸ Kyoshi 01:46, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Game doesn't work

Can't play Eye of the north
I bought eye of the north and activated the code, it is definitely activated because if I go into edit account it has eye of the north listed as one of the games I have access to, but when I create a character and go to select campaign, eye of the north isn't there to be selected..
- EotN is an expansion, meaning that you cannot start there. You reach it by playing through the storyline of the primary campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall) to a certain point, which allows you to take one of the quests that starts the EotN storyline. See Guild Wars Eye of the North#Access for the specific NPCs who can trigger it for you. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:16, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- Ahhhhhhh I see, thank you. I feel very silly now
- Not at all; it's not entirely obvious if you are new to the game (or at least to eotn). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:34, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Armor
Is all the armor the same in guild wars? Like I can get Factions armor or eye of the north armor and its the same stats right? It just looks different for each area? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.175.210.123 (talk • contribs) at 17:18, 13 July 2011 (UTC).
- Mostly correct: max armor works the same no matter its source (however, your character is created with minimal armor and you can purchase or trade of non-max armor until you get further along in the story). See Armor and Max armor. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:24, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- And please don't take "trade" to mean "to other players," as while you can trade other players for their armour, armour is customised to the character who first acquired it so you wouldn't be able to wear it. You can, however, trade monster "trophies" (like how mantises drop mantis pincers) to collectors for armour. --Dragon Nataku 17:34, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Account Deletion
Years ago, I used to play Guild Wars. Now, I want to get back into it, but I can't log in to my old account and it won't let my use my email address to create my new account because it says it is still in use for the old account. How can I cancel the old account and make the email address available for my new account?
- As posted in the question just above yours, the email account doesn't need to still exist in order to be used as your login (for example, my login is an email address belonging to a website that no longer exists, but I can still login fine). If you don't remember your password, please contact official support (the links are all over this page in all of the questions that were posted that are almost exactly like your question, hurray for reading the FAQ) and have your CD keys/access keys handy so you can prove the account is yours. --Dragon Nataku 12:35, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
"Account Linked" In Hall Of Monuments
So in my HoM achievement list, it says under Honor that i have "Linked Accounts." http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=details&details=EAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAAAAGAEIAAAAAAA Does this mean i am linked to a Guild Wars 2 account already? I don't remember doing this, and I would like to be able to claim all my items in Guild Wars 2. Anyone have an awnser?
- See: Hall of Monuments Reward Calculator; there's a link to the official FAQ, which covers your question. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:41, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- *Edit*
- I assume your refering to this?
- You will be able to continue to earn points in Guild Wars after Guild Wars 2 is released.
- By "declaring an ancestor" using an in-game item in Guild Wars 2, the player can link their two game accounts which grants them points based on their Guild Wars achievements.
- You will not have to re-use character names to link accounts or to receive the HoM benefits.
- You will only be able to link one GW1 account to a single GW2 account and vice-versa.
- I assume your refering to this?
- will this be dont when Guild Wars 2 is released, or is it happening now?
- No, I'm referring to the official FAQ, which is linked at the bottom of the article (and from the calculator page, too):
- Q: Why did I receive 3 points for having "Accounts Linked" under the Monument of Honor when I haven't done any linking yet?
- A: When Guild Wars 2 is released, there will be a way to link your Guild Wars account to your Guild Wars 2 account. If you own Eye of the North, you will receive 3 points for linking the accounts together. The Reward Calculator assumes that you will have linked the accounts together, so it automatically gives you those points.
- No, I'm referring to the official FAQ, which is linked at the bottom of the article (and from the calculator page, too):
- In other words, this is something that you will not be able to do until you have a GW2 account, which will not be possible until it is released. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:56, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- *Edit*
- Sorry to make you go to all that effort, I should have looked closer. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me. Hope you have a good week!
- No problem (it was just copy/paste, so not much effort :-). (I made the point about the links because my guess is that you will, like the rest of us, have more questions and the FAQ is a good resource.)
- Glad I was able to help. And good luck filling the rest of your Hall. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:09, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Starter Armor???

Changing servers..?
When I created my account, I accidentally created one using a European CD key and now my account is tied to European servers. Is there anyway I can switch it to a US account?
- The only place that shows your country is in PvP when you make a Guild. You can change your district in the top-left corner to an American District and play no problem. — Poki#3 (talk) 02:46, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
What would happen if your new to the whole guild wars game
- Guildwars doesn't have fixed servers, where on change you need to restart all over again. You can always switch servers (or district how they are called) when in any outpost. Just click in the drop down menu (on default it is in the top left corner) to travel to the American district. Rumian 07:28, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

- First, please make sure you read the red warning at the top of the page, we are NOT official support and have no connection to the A-Net staff, and any credit card questions and inqueries should be redirected to the official Guild Wars support team. That being said, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, if you've paid for the game and then changed credit card number and now can't access your account, all you can do is, again, talk to official support and ask them what can be done. Hope this help, and feel free to reply with any other questions. ~FarloTalk 00:46, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

- With just an address, and I assume you mean serial key as account number, probably not. They'd have to talk to support and pretend to be you, which probably needs more information than what they'd have. Just to be safe, I'd make sure your computer isn't compromised by running anti-virus and security software. Lost Password
I have been playing GuildWars since it came out and stopped after I finished "Nightfall" now that there is Guild Wars 2 coming out I would like to catch up with the game but I forgot my password to my account. Now, the thing is that for password recovery there are certain steps inorder for Anet to help but they ask for last digits in credit card and key codes for each game ... things I have lost with time, the credit card numbers changed so I cannot remember my old cardcard no. and the keys I have no idea where to find them we have the orginal guild wars (the first) but have no idea where the CD key is for that .. the rest we bought online ... We can give a name, email ,physical address but that is about it =( ... will that be helpful enough ... I haven't tried ... oh and we can give character names... --Aj p 09:07, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately we are Not ArenaNet and cannot directly help you with this kind of issue. I'd recommend Contacting Support and explain everything to them with as much information as you can provide. I wish you the best in getting your account back!
- P.S. If you bought the games online, a digital receipt along with the CD Keys should have been sent to the associated email account. If you still have access to it and haven't deleted the messages, those can be extremely helpful. ~FarloTalk 09:30, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Access Key Not Located In Game Box
A relative bought me Guild Wars: Nightfall for Christmas and didn't keep the receipt. Lo and behold my access key was missing from the box.
I have already contacted support, but nobody has gotten to my query yet.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, does support usually get back to you fairly quickly and efficiently? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.164.86.44 (talk).
- I haven't had this problem myself, but I'm going to assume your relative bought it used if there was no code inside it? From my experiences, support usually takes a couple days to reply at first, but then they'll reply pretty quickly until it's figured out. Sadly, I don't think there's much hope in getting a new code sent to you without a receipt that states the game is new. Good luck however. ~FarloTalk 23:02, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

- They are usually pretty good at that kind of thing, but it might take as long as a week in the more complex case.
