Skill checking[edit]

Starting a Factions character, following skills are unlocked before reaching this trainer and are thus indistinguishable:

Warrior Warrior Ranger Ranger Monk Monk Necromancer Necromancer
Mesmer Mesmer Elementalist Elementalist Assassin Assassin Ritualist Ritualist

This table is wrong. It seems each profession has gotten two extra skills that shouldn't be on here. Eg. Whirling Defense and Flame Trap for rangers. Backsword 14:45, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
What do you mean? Do you mean they are taught by Michiko first, or that they aren't taught by Michiko at all? Or something else? - anja talk 14:51, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
I assure you, this table is correct as can be and I have the screenshots to prove it if needed. All these skills are taught to any Factions character before reaching this trainer (mostly when choosing your 2nd profession) so they need to be checked. Erszebet 14:56, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Anja, this table is about skills you have to have to reach Michiko, which is true for six but not the other two. At least for the profs I checked. Backsword 15:03, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Have to have? This is a table of skills which Erszebet couldn't confirm, since they were unlocked already when he reached Michiko, if I read the comment correctly. Nothing else. If you have info on where these skills are first taught, please share. - anja talk 15:06, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
It's worded as an absolute, not a personal account. But obviously only he knows. As for helping, wish I could, but I have most everything unlocked. Backsword 18:25, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

(reset indent) Ok, just one more thing I can't leave uncommented: it's definately "she", not "he". Thank you ;) Erszebet 10:38, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Checked all the above except assassin and ritualist skills, plus Weapon of Warding. I don't think it's possible to check any others. - Alexis Toran (talk) 03:51, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Empress of Japan?[edit]

I was just looking at the article on Japan on Wikipedia. Under the Government and Politics there is a picture of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.

Now Michiko (the skill trainer) does not look anything like the Empress, but considering that Cantha is modeled on Japan/China wouldn't the name of this skill trainer be a reference to the current Empress of Japan? --Abbess Katherine 05:06, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Given that I am not too versed on Japanese culture and naming traditions, I'm going to assume that Michiko is just your standard Japanese-name. So no. --Riddle 05:35, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Further to my point: w:Michiko --Riddle 05:37, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Yeah Michiko probably in this case is just a Japanese name and not a reference to the Empress. Although it would be some coincidence that A-Net had not researched the name and it just happened to be that of the Empress of Japan. Especially as I said above with Cantha and its Japanese elements. --Abbess Katherine 06:33, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
