dont know howtoAdd : 15 Destroyer cores,1 glacial stone, 12 ícy lodestones, 3 globs of blob 217.72.48.126 11:42, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- You sure you didn't get the 15 Destroyer Cores from the parcel? Same with the globs and glacial stone. He gives two items. -- Konig/talk 11:47, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- I got only 1 Destroyer Core, and the next gave me TWO (2) Chromatic Scales. Sjeng 11:55, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
I'd probably destroy the table, got a Deldrimor Armor Remnant Nsign 13:58, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ignore that, was being stupid and mistook this for the Wrapped parcel Nsign 14:03, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Randomness is Random[edit]
Okay, so on the list there is "2 Chromatic Scales" and "8 Piles of ELemental Dust" - I got only 1 chromatic scale, and I got 4 piles of elemental dust - a friend of mine said he got 3 piles of elemental dust. I think the numbers are completely randomly chosen for this. -- Konig/talk 12:28, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Edit: I just opened 2 more, first time I got 3 Jotun Pelts, second time I got 5 Jotun Pelts. -- Konig/talk 12:32, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Woot![edit]
So, "bag of random crap" anyone? -- FreedomBound 12:34, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- That's what sprang in my mind first, yes. Judas 21:31, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Seems like the cost of a sack is more than what you get. Widowmaker 14:55, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well if youre gonna react that way, then just dont help Lt. Thackeray, and yeah if that happens Logan Thackeray will never be born and then GW2 is doomed, do you want that to happen huh? Well?--Markisbeest 16:06, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

He also takes a chunk of drake flesh (Ixillius 14:36, 2 April 2010 (UTC))
Ales[edit]
I have a stack of sham ales, and if someone starts a droprate page ill add a stack worth of opens to it. Sonic Friday 15:36, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Nevermind, just found out he only takes each item once from each char...Sonic Friday 15:40, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Keg[edit]
Hahaha! I offered him a keg and his reply was:
"A keg. Seriously? That's a bit much, don't you think? What do you expect me to do? Roll it up the mountain sneakily and hope Gwen doesn't notice? No. I think not."

Drop Table[edit]
I have added in a table template for those who can start filling it in. Also have added a drop range, as there seems to be a discrepency in range limits between items and this would be a great way to discern if there is a pattern. They are basic so if you think it needs more, PM me.
PS: Someone else can clean the this page when the table gets filled :) Diseraph 14:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- So far seems between 1 and 15, not sure if the limits differ between trophies and materials. Rose Of Kali 18:14, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes but the point of the table is to gain a better sample to draw conclusions. Diseraph 00:15, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Orly? Why do you think I added to it? :P Rose Of Kali 01:27, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- "Someone else can clean the this page when the table gets filled :)" by Diseraph. Sucks. Better link my screenshot file than go through all that mess. WTS forethinking. Yoshida Keiji (talk) 11:11, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Bug Regarding new Random Junk item[edit]
I recently reported this bug:
"When attempting to give Lt. Thackeray Dwarven Ales while your inventory is full, he will speak as if he has granted your a Bag of Random Junk, yet no message will appear in chat, nor will a bag of random junk appear around your feet. After three time of trying this, you will no longer be able to give him anything in the drink category, despite not have been granted your reward. Additionally, no Ales will have been taken out of your inventory."
Should a note of this bug be added to to the notes section under the bug tag? Thanks, Curin Derwin 21:24, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Bug with piles of elemental dust[edit]
I have opened around 30 sacks of random junk. Every time I got Piles of Elemental Dust, they refused to stack each other. I now have three groups of Piles of Elemental Dust, none of which will stack with the others. I don't have any non-sack-of-random-junk elemental dust to try and see if any of them will stack with it. Anyone else experienceing this behaviour with Elemental dust, or other collectibles for that matter? BenderRodriguez 13:10, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- It was reported as a bug here. You are not alone. -- FreedomBound 14:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Will these alterdusts remain in the game? If so, we should document them. Backsword 14:01, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
"Bag of Crap"[edit]
I made this edit and it was reverted:
- The Sack of Random Junk may be a reference to Woot.com's infamous "Random Crap", also known as the Bag of Crap.
Anyone have any opinion as to whether or not this can be in the Notes section? It seems obvious to me that a Sack of Random Junk is a sly reference to a Bag of Random Crap; even the icon looks a lot like Woot's image. - Brian Kendig 17:13, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- im sorry but its a sack of random junk, which is exactly what it says..--Neil2250 , Render Lord 17:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- You were the one who did the revert. No need to be sorry! I'm going to reinstate my edit for now unless there are more opinions that a Sack of Random Junk has nothing to do with a Bag of Crap. The reference seems unmistakable to me, even to the point that the random items are usually worthless but sometimes really valuable. - Brian Kendig 17:25, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

- I don't think that the Sack of Random Junk has any trivia. It is a Sack of... random... junk... It's name references what it is... -- Konig/talk 18:08, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Don't think it's a reference either, until confirmed. Also, you both violated GWW:1RV. :/ Rose Of Kali 20:38, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- My apologies for that. I'm familiar with 3RR on Wikipedia; I went looking for any reversion rules here, and I wasn't able to find them. (Searching for 'revert' brings up a page of mainspace articles, and 'next 20' is not a link, so I thought that's all there was.) - Brian Kendig 21:10, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Revert now exists. Also, there is a "Help center" link in the "support" box just below the search bar on the left. It should have everything you'd ever need to know about this wiki. Rose Of Kali 08:18, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Lol, and thanks to Backsword for fixing it, that was an early morning brain fart. ^_^ Rose Of Kali 08:25, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

- This could easily be resolved by you providing a source. The null hypthesis is always that it's not a reference, so you must provide the info the would lead us to believe this is a reference to any specific bag of crap. Backsword 08:27, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree that asking Emily is the best way to get the definitive answer. But, meanwhile, in answer to Backsword, here's why I believe it's a reference:
- The "Bag of Crap" is a concept made popular by Woot. See the Urban Dictionary and a Google search for "bag of random crap".
- Woot's item and Guild Wars's item are both named similarly: "[Container] of Random ****". Aside from the Random Arenas, is there anything else in Guild Wars that's named "Random"?
- Both are depicted as a brown paper bag. Why would a GW item look like a paper bag?
- Both can be obtained three at a time. Each one contains a random number of a single kind of item.
- Both usually contain items which are worthless, but sometimes contain very valuable items.
Woot's Bag of Crap has a large cult around it; there are web sites that chart what people got, the comments boards on Woot BoC items can stretch for thousands of comments [1], and people have even written programs to increase your chances of getting a BoC. It's certainly got a much larger following than any other "Bag of Crap" out there these days, and it's a bigger phenomenon than the random movie quotes to which some of the other references on this wiki have been attributed. It seems obvious to me that this item is a homage to the Woot BoC, and some ArenaNet programmer probably had fun making it. But if Emily says it's not, then that's that. - Brian Kendig 13:46, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Woot's grab bag is actually just called Random Crap. But it comes in a bag. So people have labeled it "bag of crap." elix Omni 03:26, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but this reference could only have been drawn by someone who spends WAY too much time on the net and not NEARLY enough time living real life. I'm not going to revert because you're obviously sensitive about it, but I think it makes the original editor look like a moron. As SO many others have said...it's a sack. of. random. junk.
And FYI, Archie McPhee started doing the "random crap" grab-bag thing before woot.com existed. 12.54.84.193 17:29, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- So then...it's NOT a reference? I don't see anywhere about it being confirmed to be a reference by an official source. 174.17.5.167 22:21, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- The first thing I thought of when I saw this item was the Random Crap from woot... It's a pretty obvious reference.24.182.202.101 07:49, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
(Reset indent) I honestly don't believe the reference is valid, and I really don't understand the obsession with users adding a trivia section to every article that reminds them of something. 76.29.215.49 10:21, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
