Sorry
I apoligize, that some people on the wiki do not appreciate the incrediable work you do on Guild Wars Wiki and Guild Wars. I think you have done a great job! --Shadowphoenix 00:09, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

FYI
Your user page is no less than five and a half pages long at 1200x800 resolution. -- Armond Warblade 06:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well goodness! But, sorry, what does that mean? It's a single page, so I don't really know how to measure "pages" in the context of numbers of pages on a single page. 8) I've been working on it today, trying to actually trim it down. Perhaps you caught me in mid-edit when I had stuff I was moving to another actual page. My intention is to make things tidier, not longer, I can promise you that! So if you could take another look and see if it's better now, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. -- Gaile 06:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think he meant "screens" long. Saying that, I'm on 1280x800 as well on my lappy and it's 2 screens for me. Nice and tidy too :) Now for offtopic. I have sent an e-mail to Anet a while ago, expressing my gratitude. This, of course, got replied with an automated e-mail (I realised that I could not expect more, considering how many people would do this thing.) Is there some way I can send this to you? Not stalking you here, just wanted you to read it too :) I have great respect for your patience with the community and wanted to show this gratitude through this mail. - Oh, phew, thanks for letting me know. I was worried I'd blown up the Guild Wars Wiki! :)
- Yes, certainly you can email. There's an "Email this user" over to the left, there, in the "toolbox" section. Drop a line any time. And thank you for your kind thoughts. -- Gaile 17:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Suggestions Pages
Just to check - are the GW/GW2/Website suggestion pages you run still in commission, so to speak? I haven't heard of any news about them being shifted elsewhere, but I'm not sure it fits in with a support role either. -- Sirius (talk) 13:23, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, there, Sirius. When I made the decision to move to a different role, I did ask about some of the wiki pages linked from my User talk page. Now, the archives of most discussions that first appeared on my talk page should stay where the are, I think we all agree with that. But general topics like Suggestions could well be moved, just as the Bugs pages I started eventually moved to Mike Zadorojny's User page.
- Some GWW contributors have brought up the idea of creating an ArenaNet name space, which sounds to me like a great idea. For while the time wasn't right when it was suggested several months ago -- Mike O'Brien thought it was best to have such pages off of User pages -- the time may be right for that name space now. If that happens, I'm happy to have the Suggestions pages move over to that name space, just as I think Bugs and International References would move, too. (In fact, if we open that name space, it might be appropriate for someone, or a group of willing someones, to go through all the archives of Suggestions and categorize them, rather than storing them by month.)
- So, in short, where the Suggestions sections reside now is up to the community, although obviously ArenaNet (specifically Mike O'Brien, the co-founder most involved with the GWW) may want to weigh in on the matter as well. I'll be happy to help in any way that I can. Thanks for asking. :) -- Gaile 19:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, and thanks - I also have to agree regarding the categorisation issue. The archives as they stand do their job, but they make it rather difficult to be sure whether something has already been addressed as you'd need to check through month-by-month, and hope the headlines are accurate enough. Whether that would involve re-organising them or simply providing a second index, I don't think it matters much - but as development progresses and the suggestion count creeps up, I can see that becoming an issue. -- Sirius (talk) 10:24, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree -- and the subject lines sometimes do leave a lot to be desired. For instance, "My ideas" doesn't say a whole lot. :D If/when we get around to categorising the comments, or cross-referencing them, I would suggest that we may consider a rewrite of the subject lines, or the addition of a bit of explanatory text to make it more clear what the comments are about. I believe that such a process would be allowed by wiki rules, anyway. -- Gaile 18:53, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Current bureaucrat election
Hi Gaile, as you offered your help back then for the final judgment in bureaucrat election, we would like to make use of that offering for the first time. As you see on the (long) talk page of the current election we are not able to get to a clear consensus this time and neither of them has resigned, we would like to leave the final decision to ANet. The candidates in question are Auron and Tanetris and it's about a shortened term up to 31 August 2008. Thank you for any help! poke | talk 00:51, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- If it matters, the seat is to replace User:Tanaric who resigned. Hence the shortened term from the usual 6 months. -- Brains12 \ Talk 00:55, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Brains. I will get in touch with Mike O'Brien, as I feel this is a matter on which we should have his insight, as he was the co-founder most involved in the creation of the Guild Wars Wiki, and he's still our guiding light on many of the larger issues. One of us will respond to this request as soon as we are able. -- Gaile 01:20, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- False alarm. I'm withdrawing from the election, so we've got a winner. Sorry for leaving it long enough for you to get pinged. - Tanetris 02:32, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know, Tanetris. I hope that you will consider running again -- you would be a very good bureaucrat for this wiki. Take care. -- Gaile 03:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

I changed your Sidebox for GW2 suggestions
Not sure if you want people to do that or not, I thought it might be helpful to start moving the archives into easier to understand categories.--riceball 22:02, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, Riceball, thank you for letting me know. I'm going to follow the lead of the community as far as whether members would like the archives re-sorted into topics. There are certainly challenges in either direction: The current archives are difficult to track, it's true. Yet figuring out what category to put a comment into, when it touches on multiple topics, will be challenging. But from what I understand, the CMs will continue to link to the Suggestions pages where they are, at least in the short term, so the archiving (leaving as is, or redoing) is up to the community as a whole. Sorting by months or sorting by topic -- I'm all for it, whatever you guys decide! The one thing I would urge us to do, as a group, is to put more informative titles on the suggestions, so that it's easy to scan and find relevant topics, rather than having to read a lot called "My ideas" or "A bunch of suggestions." :)
- Frankly, I am hesitant to do the moving itself, but I truly have no objections to the community doing so, if members feel that this would be the desirable course. Thanks. -- Gaile 04:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I am less concerned with moving the old stuff, and more concerned with making a fresh start in a better way. I actually think what the first page of the suggestion page should be is a description of all the categories (and the option to add more that I missed). Telling people to split up their ideas to fit the right category, and to put it in the necessary category page to begin with, and not worry about even having to archive anything.--riceball 22:41, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds good, Riceball. I think that it could be a project, if people wanted to join in, to sort into the proper folder. On the other hand, I do see it would be challenging, with multiple subjects in a single post plus the issue of trying to keep things in chronological order (which I think is a very important element of a wiki).

Hi Gaile, I just wanted to bring this small but useful template to your attention, given your new position. :) It basically links to the official support site, so you don't have to type it out, like so: support. Biscuits 22:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Archive?
User talk:Gaile Gray/Guild Wars 2 suggestions getting kinda big :P --Shadowphoenix 15:49, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Good point, and something I'll do just as soon as I have a bit of time. Thanks! -- Gaile 07:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- And it's now nearly May 2nd, and honestly, as much as I'd like to do it, I have not had time. It's nearly midnight and I'm writing up meeting notes. But I do so agree that archiving is needed, so please accept my apology that I'm taking a bit longer than I thought I'd need! -- Gaile 06:52, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- I've started on archiving the GW2 Suggestions page. It's taking me a bit of extra time because I've also fixing the subject lines and putting things into proper chronology, newest at bottom. I'll end up with three pages (at least) for April. I am sorry that it's taking me so long -- I was involved in a large review process for Support last week, but that has wrapped up and I hope to be able to address the groaningly large page sizes this week! -- Gaile 19:23, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

GW & GW2 suggestion pages
Are we going to merge them with ArenaNet:Guild Wars suggestions and ArenaNet:Guild Wars 2 suggestions? --Shadowphoenix 22:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Much of the conversation about those new pages have been about replacing Gaile's talk pages with those pages. I think the assumption was that Gaile didn't want to go on managing those pages when she's no longer responsible for reporting on the content. Moving it to the ArenaNet space means the community can look after it a bit more and Regina can get in there too without worrying about wiki talk page etiquette. The new pages are only slowly coming right because there isn't a lot of feedback happening. I've got a dump of subpage stuff I've been fiddling with off wiki (hopefully tonight my time) and then I was hoping for community feedback and then perhaps to get Regina and Gaile involved in how useful the structure is for them. --Aspectacle 23:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I was just about to ask you the same thing :) As we are discussing the function and organization of the ArenaNet namespace, alot of questions come up, and we would love som input from ArenaNet people. If you have any ideas or thoughts, please share them :) And since you are hosting quite a bit of useful community information in your userspace (suggestions, support issues, etc), I wanted to ask you if and how you would like this to work together with the ArenaNet namespace. Would you want it moved, merged, untouched..? And also, if moved, some technicalities on who manages the pages and "moderate" them, etc. It would be great if you could tell us your opinion, or just general thoughts on this :) Community discussion is centralized on ArenaNet talk:Portal, but of course it's fine to respond here as well. - anja 13:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, there. I have sent an email on this subject, as I know it's a topic that we'd all like to know more about. Basically, I'm seeking advice from Mike O'Brien, since he guided me in the creation of some of the pages we're now wondering about, such as Suggestions. I'll be sure to post as soon as I know more. -- Gaile 20:38, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Email Flurry
I'm having a problem right now with the GWW sending me update notification emails every time that one of my watched pages is updated. Here's some info on the problem. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'll tell you, it's creating quite an email overload! I've let our IT Team know about the situation, but would like to know if others are having problems, too, so I can pass that along. -- Gaile 21:53, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I replied on the Reporting Wiki Bugs page. Are there any pages in particular that it's happening for? (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 21:54, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Gaile, you probably already know this, but just to make sure: if you go to "My preferences" (on the links at the right top of the screen) and then to "User profile", at the bottom of the page there will be a section called "E-mail". It has a checkbox saying "E-mail me when a page I'm watching is changed" - maybe you have accidentaly checked yours? Erasculio 22:00, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, there. Oh, yes, I know of the notification, and I want that. I like to know when my page is updated so that I can respond promptly. However, the system is supposed to send just one notification, even if the page is updated 10 times. Then, once you've visited the page and after you've presumably reviewed the updates, it will send another single update email until you visit again. What's happening at present is I'm getting an update email every time someone updates my page, even if I don't visit. So in the space of an hour, if I don't visit, I have maybe 10 emails in my box, where I should just have the one. I sure hope that makes sense. :D

- This is quite new -- a day or so old. Aiiane mentioned that we updated software on Monday -- perhaps it's a bug in the MediaWiki build or something. I'm sure IT will figure it out. In the meantime, I removed this page from my watch list, but left the "email me when it's updated" choice check on the other preference page, and hopefully that will help. -- Gaile 22:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Your page is updated several times a day, soo... yeah :P. Just to give you an alternative or something... I just bookmark my watchlist, and go there a few times a day. If something is updated, I click "history", then select everything that's marked as new. That way I see all the changes made since my last visit, and my mail box is free to hold all the newstalers and Viagra advertisements. — Poki#3 22:46, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Since this is pretty recent for you, it might be caused by the recent MediaWiki upgrade that was done. Better check with IT on the matter. -- (gem / talk) 22:51, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- You know, Gem, I'm thinking that could be it. Now, the alerts have slowed considerably this evening, but then, there aren't as many updates to the page so it's hard to tell what's up. Let's see, if I put up a "Who wants free chocolate" questionnaire, and a hundred people answer, I guess I'll know if the "alert every update" as opposed to the "alert once until I visit" is in effect. *lol* -- Gaile 05:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Shoulda had one. I'll let our IT Team know we have a problem, and put forth our theory it is possibly related to the update to the WikiMedia software. - Nutella? I agree, that's another wonderful treat in our chocolate-themed discussion! For some reason, Nutella doesn't seem to be all that popular in the US, but I knew it from England and I have seen a lot of it in Europe. When I went to Leipzig for the World Championship in 2006, the hotel we stayed at offered a breakfast buffet and when I saw little tubs of Nutella in the basket with the jams, jellies, and preserves I actually gave a involuntarily "woot" of appreciation. Now, I wasn't loud, but I was still a little embarrassed at having done so, and I quickly glanced around to see if anyone heard me. Sure enough, a family behind me in the buffet line was looking at me with a mix of puzzled expressions, perhaps a bit alarmed at someone being quite that excited about breakfast spreads. :) Anyway, I hit the Nutella tubs each day we were there and actually brought one home as a souvenir because I thought they were so cute. "Ma'am, do you have anything to declare? Are you bringing any foodstuffs into the country?" "Well, yes, Mr. Customs Man, I have this tub of Nutella..." ;) -- Gaile 19:44, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

- Haha I made you fall for the Nutella Gaile, and I don't rly like spreading it on bread products, what I like is sitting in front of the tv, with a spoon and a jar of Nutella (sometimes even while playing gw, but I ruin all the fun when, either i get killed cause of my gluttony to Nutella, or when i have to clean the keyboard from chocolate =P) and Barinthus I had some pc probs these past couple of days and a bunch of files got mixed up (as in names and locations) but as soon as I find the recipe I'll send it =) --MageMontu 23:53, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks, Mage :) Appreciate it, like you, I'm a guy who actually enjoys baking. I nearly dropped out college to become a pastry chef and sometimes I do wonder what if I went down that path instead. Anyway about the bread, I kinda doubt it, World Market doesn't carry freshly baked goods but I'll check next time I go down there. That link does make it sounds so good although - I love bread as well! :) – Barinthus 06:16, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Update on Emails
I got an email from our IT Team on Friday telling me that the notification system is working as intended and has been working the way I reported since last fall. Apparently, you are supposed to get an email every time your talk page is updated if you have an certain update notification selected on your My Preferences page. The thing is, I had not changed my preferences and the system was decidedly and emphatically not working that way until just last week (coincidental to the MediaWiki update, a lot of us think). I know this to be true because this is an active page and I wasn't waking up to 10, 12, 20 emails a day, one per update. Instead, was getting one mail until I visited the past. And the email that the system sends says precisely that, "There will be no other notifications in case of further changes unless you visit this page." IT says the system it working properly, but states the email says the wrong thing. I know the operation of the system changed last week. I'll modify my preferences to see if that prevents the flood of mails, but heck it's easy to delete the multiple notifications and it's not a real big deal. I just wanted to know why/how it changed and I'm still rather puzzled about whether other people are seeing this change. Right now, I feel like James Stewart in "Harvey." ;) -- Gaile 20:15, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the IT team certainly is wrong since the intended functionality is (or atleast was on earlier MediaWiki versions) to only send one e-mail, not one per edit, just like the e-mail states in it's text. -- (gem / talk) 08:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- It certainly was working like that before the update. Apparently it was "broken" before, when it did what the notification email says, and is now "working as intended" when it spams emails, doing the opposite of what the email says. Aye, right! ;) -- Gaile 18:58, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Guild Wars - International References
Hey Gaile, I was wondering since you left your old position, is this "project" still checked on and looked at by anyone? The project I refer to is the one where you asked for suggestions from Guild Wars players about quotes characters and stories from their own countries for potential inclusion in Guild Wars. 122.104.167.139 00:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, there. Yes, our team still does have an interest in gathering those global cultural references of all kinds. We've incorporated some into the game, and I'm sure that others will be considered for Guild Wars 2, as well. -- Gaile 00:54, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- =O Does that mean we will be seeing new areas added to the game soon? *is jumping with excitement* --MageMontu 08:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, goodness, that's not what I meant! I typo'd and I apologize. I typed "we're incorporated" which I think you may have read as "we are going to incorporate" when in fact I meant to say we have incorporated some of those cultural references into the game.
- I do not know more, but as I said, I believe the page is helpful to the designers and would encourage folks to add their ideas. -- Gaile 05:52, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- awwwww, actually i have to excuse myself as well for not reading the whole thing, I usually never read the whole word, so when I saw, we're incor, i assumed it was we're incorporating and moved to the next word (was taught that technique in high school, it's a fast reading method extremely helpful for exams). I'm still crossing my fingers for a Sorrow's Furnace update though, so to make it scale with the other Elite areas since it's too easy (completed it in 2 hours using heroes and hench and without going ursan). Maybe I should open another topic in the guild wars suggestion page *ponders* --MageMontu 08:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I would like to make a note on the use of references. Avoid putting too many pop-culture refernces into a game or it starts to degrade it and make it feel less mature, Rodgort's Invocation and Mark of Rodgort were cleverly disguesed, General Morgahn was a good one, Drakes on the Plain was a pretty good one but was kinda close to cheesey, and the Bear Club for Men was also very cleaverly used. The Black Beast and Aegis of Augh both stood out like a sore thumb as Monty Python reference and realy didn't seem to fit in the game all that well. If you had a Elementalist, Mezmer or Monk NPC named Tim the Enchanter, you could create a viable reference without having it stick out like a sore thumb. Also, please avoid using a reference just for the sake of using a reference. A good example of a cleverly disgued refernce would be something like this: In Half-Life (The first one) the man character, Gordan Freeman, is a scientist in Black Mesa, more specificaly the Sector C test-labs or Anomalous Materials. In another game (name escapes me atm) the main character finds some stange foreign material, presents it to the head of a research facility (unamed) and is then told to deliver it to the scientists in Sector C, or the Anomalous Materials Labs. In another game, a charcter has a robotic companion named Dog, referencing to Dog, Alyx's companion in Half-Life and its 2 episodes. Anyway, before I start rambling, References shoudl nto be included for the sake of inclusion, references should be included only if the oppurunity presents it's self and it cna be disguised and passed off as a part of the game and not a reference at first glance. --Wolf 14:13, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Gaile, HALP! I seem to be in a bit of trouble
First off, my sig seems to have falled under fire. You can read the whole deal here. What is your take on what should be done? --Wolf 17:52, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- While it's perfectly acceptable to get Gaile's input if you so desire, just like any other wiki user, I should point out that as far as the wiki is concerned Gaile is just that, "like any other user". She is not a board of appeals, unless you wish to formally involve ArenaNet.
in which case the ideal person to talk to would be Emily Diehl. (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 18:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)- Well, I figured Gaile would be able to point em in the right direction on who I should talk too, ect. --Wolf 18:52, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Eep, ignore the second part of that anyways, getting two different issues mixed up. :) (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 21:39, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's ok to ask here, of course, but in this case, I believe this is a GWW community question, sort of an overarching policy decision about user names as opposed to signatures. I don't see where ArenaNet would comment, except as individual users. As a user, I sometimes find it confusing that I see "FredSmith" in the code and "Freddie" as the signature, but I don't see harm in it.
- *Notices: Oooh, My account is "Gaile Gray" but I sign as "Gaile."*
- *ahem*
- I am fully on board for signatures and account names being somewhat dissimilar. :D -- Gaile 21:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's sort of like my signature. I log in as Eloc Jcg, but my signature just says Eloc. Right? — ク Eloc 貢 22:00, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- This situation is different. User:Wolf is actually another user, different to User:Great Darkwolf. However, seeing as User:Wolf hasn't contributed, I don't think it's a problem unless he contributes in future. In that case, Great Darkwolf would have to change his signature. -- Brains12 \ talk 22:03, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- And to add to Brains' comment, one should also note that User:Gaile is already registered and redirected to User:Gaile Gray, to eliminate any possible confusion - unlike User:Wolf. (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 22:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

If User:Wolf starts contributing, I'll change my sig, hows that sound? As it stands, I would bet it's someone that just made an account, just for kicks, but never came back. I mean, they don;t have a user or talk page, nor do they even have any contribs. The current situation has yet to cause any problems, and I will deal with it should it start to. --Wolf 22:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Many people create accounts to contribute to things like the suggestion pages but don't actually create/use their userspace. Some just create accounts and never do anything.-- Wyn 22:45, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Image deletion
Im not sure if this is the place to ask since I'm kinda new to wiki but my little polar bear sig pic was deleted and I'm not sure how or why? I looked up the rules for a sig and it was correctly sized and everything just curious how I would find that out thanks--O Frost O File:O Frost O Sig.GIF 05:00, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- It was named "Image:O Frost O Sig.GIF" but it should be named "Image:User O Frost O Sig.gif". Also, consider jpg or png instead of gif. More colors ^^; Oh, and Gaile is not the person to turn to. You could have looked at the deletion logs and see that Poke deleted it with an explanation why (incorrect naming). — Poki#3 10:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Timing Out
I am trying to add a note to the Support Issues page, and continually get timed-out. Actually, this is sort of a "test post" to see if I can make one. Anyone else having "wiki lag?" :) -- Gaile 05:38, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Gaile, this is something that happens every 2 or 3 days right around 11:40 pm cst, and lasts for approximately an hour. I have asked Emily if it is due to a server maintenance/backup, but her response was less than satisfactory, as she lumped it in with the image cache issues. If it IS a scheduled back up/maintenance, it should be posted so we would all know.-- Wyn 05:56, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's interesting! I'm on the wiki a lot (no, really! ;) ) and I must have been lucky to hit it around the times it's lagging. But if it is now a bit past 1:00 AM CST, and if the situation lasted for about an hour (as it seemed to me) then yep, that'd fit your time frame pretty closely. Have you good recall on what days it happens, like is it specific days of the week? I am going to see if I can get some details on this. It would be awesome
if there were a way to make your minipet images rearrange randomly when your page is loaded. The tricks would be making it not use the same image twice, and making it not kill the server due to bandwidth consumption. - That's a really fun idea about the minis. But how grateful would people be to visit an uncached page? :) -- Gaile 04:11, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- I wonder if something could be done with {{CURRENTMINUTE}}, {{CURRENTHOUR}}, {{CURRENTSECOND}} (if it exists), or some combination of the three. The other option would be to use javascript and petition the admins to add it to common.js, as opposed to everyone adding it to their personal .js thing. A thought: Header Template for Page
A small thought just occured to me. If you make your header a template, you will only have to edit it once, and all the changes will carry over to every page your using it on. Which reminds me, I should probably do the same for my header and such XD. — Wolf 22:39, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Support issues/FAQs
Hey Gaile, I noticed this edit to ArenaNet:Portal and wondered whether you would want to move those pages into the actual ArenaNet namepsace (instead of keeping them in the User namespace). For the FAQ, it won't change anything in terms of who can edit the page (people will understand it's an official thing and not something for "anyone" to contribute to; if they don't, we can always add a notice along the lines of ArenaNet:Developer updates). For the issues page, it would probably function exactly the same; however, it keeps official ArenaNet stuff in the ArenaNet space, and it might show people that it is an official ArenaNet page instead of "just" a userpage. -- Brains12 \ talk 11:47, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Brains. I debated that, but I noticed other pages on the index were not strictly within/on the ArenaNet Portal, and since the page is more informational than official (very slight nuance there) I think the placement is ok for now. So really, we're fine with where it is at the present time, although I may move it in the future. Thanks. -- Gaile 16:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't know why, but the whole "Pumpkin on the head" joke tickles my funnybone every time. :) -- Gaile 18:18, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

- As long as The Lich isnt in the audiance he is fine. One way or another, Mad King Thorn's jokes always slay the audiance XD — Wolf 15:23, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- The lich can't emote AFAIK so would get pwnd when the Mad King starts playing his emote game.- TheRave (talk) 08:49, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- lol, np. I hope the Lich can hold him off from sneaking over until Halloween ;) I wonder who would win in a fight...the Lich or the Mad King Thorn....hmm...really makes you wonder. :P — ク Eloc 貢 08:31, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
How's this?
I got the first part done User:Wynthyst/Sandbox/Test. Let me know what you think. -- Wyn 01:06, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- That's looking really good, Wyn! I may end up keeping the list on my page, I'm not sure yet. But idea of having a checklist that includes images is just marvelous! Keep up the good work! :) -- Gaile 14:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, Wyn, do we need the image for the Emeju's bow? I don't think I have that one, but if it's missing I bet someone from the GWW membership can provide it! -- Gaile 20:48, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's the dat extract icon that we need for that... either as a direct dat extract (better quality) or a text mod extract. They are so small, it's hard to know which are which. I did cheat a little on that template and used the 'standard skin' icon for some of them that we haven't identified the actual unique icons for, or where the unique icons don't actually show dyed properly in the icons. I'm not sure which skin that bow uses as it's not listed on the page, so I just left it blank, but if any of the team wishes to help us out, they should check out Guild Wars Wiki:Projects/Inventory icons/Unique bows. I'm sure the additions would be greatly appreciated! -- Wyn 06:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- The other wiki says it's the Aureate Longbow skin, dyed. — kyrasantae 06:25, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Guides section
It's mostly all long outdated. Shouldn't we have someone (or a team of people) who are competent at the game regularly maintain this, so the newbs and lowskilled players can use the guides here to improve their game? We could do with bumping the average skill of GW players, since the game's practically dead. Napalm Flame 17:29, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's more about getting them more visible. There's no need to designate certain users to maintain certain pages; that would defeat the purpose of a wiki. If more people are aware of them, more people will edit them. -- ab.er.rant 06:19, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- You could start a project. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 06:38, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
What do ya think of my idea, Gaile?^^
I was bored, and wanted to try something new. So, do you guys think my collector idea has potential?;)Megalodon 20:35, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean the checklist? Did you make that? It's real nice! -- Gaile 19:19, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Love your Wiki User Page Gaile
I was wondering if you could give any tips on how you got the tables on your page tho? I've been looking through the wiki editing templates and such all day long and cant for the life of me figure out how you broke things into tables on here. This is so different than HTML "(Ameythst Jasmine 21:28, 23 December 2008 (UTC))
- Hiya. Do you mean the columns for my collections? Well, I didn't use a template for those, I just put a break to get the columns. If you hit "edit" I think you'll be able to see how I did it. I'm so far from being a wiki expert I hesitate to offer any advice, but you're free to borrow my formatting if you wish... since I borrowed it from others who were kind enough to help me in my early days. :) -- Gaile 22:09, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- I tried to do that Gaile but I think because you are special nobody is allowed to edit your page :) so I could not grab the formatting. I guess I just need to figure out how to put a break in. I feel like just a dork trying to figure out how to edit a wiki. I can edit HTML and PHP fine, but a Wiki is giving me fits. BTW how comes the hunt for the Polar Bear this year? I've been imagining you at the Rift Warden over and over and over :P (Ameythst Jasmine 23:39, 23 December 2008 (UTC))
- Here is the link to see the page code for Gaile's Page. And just fyi, <div> tags work just the same as they do in HTML :) ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 00:28, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for giving that link, Wizardboy. And AJ, the hunt... continues. The Rift Warden and I have become personal friends. I've invited him home for Christmas dinner, and the family is saying I'm seeing much too much of the guy. ;) -- Gaile 00:32, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Gaile the Rift Warden and I just had a 26 hour affair. He obviously doesn't love me though. Because he didn't give me what I wanted! Thanks for the Link Wizardboy! Much appreciated(Ameythst Jasmine 00:43, 24 December 2008 (UTC))
- For help with tables in MediaWiki there is also Table help on MetaWiki. -- Wyn 01:02, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Yea, I like your userboxes, especially the mudkipz one and the proper grammar one--you wouldn't believe how many people have yelled at me in-game because 'I use big words' and 'its not k00l 2 tipe rite.' XD Hylas 20:07, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Permission to use your wiki skeleton?
Hi, im rather new to wiki and cant find a single help site to explain to me how to create a decent looking wiki page. So Would you mind if i borrowed your wiki page, copied everything to my own, and mess around with it? Maybe by experimenting with your design will allow me to learn to build my own. Or if you have the time, help me learn how to by sharing your design sources :) Thank you (Ixillius 21:25, 28 January 2009 (UTC))
