Anet relations

I know some where may not agree with your methods, but, you're making an important point about the lack of real customer relations Anet has to offer us. I feel frustrated along side you and for you not being heard. You are a customer and you feel a product you invested time in is being neglected. You're so right on what you're saying, and regardless of what the carebears say, the input and feelings of a dissatisfied customer do more to make business better than happy feedback. What makes me irate is people who are not outgoing, charasmatic, personable, and extroverted should not be CMs, sales people or customer service reps. I understand that the staff at Anet are computer oriented people...but come on, your job is to sell and maintain a product, at least hire the right type of person to represent that ideal to your customers. Hiring a "gamer" or that type of personality archatype for a CM is, imo, a bad business move. But, what do I know about all that, right? I only work for a Fortune 500 PM company that prides itself on service. Anyway, people need to understand their job should not be covered by the customer--and if they cared about making money, they would enact this to a stronger degree.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* 21:01, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Exactly ^^. CM's need to look at the angry people and say "well why are you upset?" KJ and Shard, lets use them as an example. Shard is an angry customer because the skill designers do not know how to do their jobs in a productive manner (I'm sorry Izzy, you're a sweet heart, but its the truth) and have made the competative aspect of the game a dice roll. KJ is upset because promises made by the game's management are not being kept and his voice is being ignored. What is the solution? "I'm/We're sorry". That's it. Simple. We know Anet's resources are strapped, bad decisions have been made, there isn't enough time or people. I know Linsle and co. care...but god, unless you know *them* it would seem from the outside looking in that they don't care, that very little gets accomplished from the live team living and sleeping at their desks. I really don't think I should exactly be an example. I keep hoping that some kind of movement will raise up amongst GW players to demand better CR and better treatment of the game, but I doubt it will happen. That would be because immediately after Guild Wars 2 is released, the ArenaNet team will be focused on maintaining and improving it like they used to do with Guild Wars several years ago, rather than working on their next big thing, like they are now. Wrong. There is a group of people who look bad as a whole for botching GW. Also, there is really no excuse, as many of the fixes that are desperately needed, are not time consuming at all. Late reaction: If I ask: Why do you think Guildwars is ruined? I'll get the same answer over and over again, bad communication, bad balance, late updates, etc etc.. Well, I had no bad communication with Anet, I actually dont mind about the most (skill) balance, because I play the game on my own way (what almost exclude every intensive farming), and there will always be updates "over time". I still like this game and dont care about the many SF sins or IoP users. If they want to play that way is that all fine with me, I'll find my own ways. I'm thereby almost sure I'll enjoy GW2, for the same reasons I enjoy GW1. If people think this opinion will make me a bad player, a blind player or a retarded Anet lover, so shall be it. If you think this is all crap, go ahead, you dont have me with it. But I know there are more people who think about it like me and we don't only care about graphics. What KJ said. Also, it's a nice thought that you play the game your own way and all that, but the glaring truth is that your own way will be much slower and less effective than the one way that is better than everything else and shouldn't exist, because of balance failures. It may not bother you that it takes 2x longer to do something than it should take, but it's no fun having to take forever to do everything. The point is, you shouldn't be less effective because you didn't run a pvx build. It should depend on how skilled you are at the game. An element of that still remains, but it's nowhere near what it should be. That's the whole reasoning behind the game being bad, if you don't run a prearranged set of skills, you'll always get less gameplay done. The bottom line is, losing/taking ages to get gameplay done is not fun, and the only way to win/get things done, is to run what's viable, which is very little. GW was originally meant to be a PvP game, and it sucks that Anet lost their good attitude somewhere along the way, and decided to cater to a bunch of PVE'ers, instead of making a great game. -- Tha Reckoning File:User Tha Reckoning Sig2.jpg 23:57, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

For me, personally, its the lack of service and respect I've mentioned above. But more so in regard to skill balance, I am disapointed that I need to resort to pve based skills and gimmicks like Shadow Form Sins to do areas. I dislike that the game is now catered around lowest common denominators to make it "easy mode" like con-sets, broken pve skills, title grind to make the game playable. The other night I did an dungeon with Adrin and 2 guildie friends...Adrin was on his warrior, I had him pre-protted with PS and SOA and he dropped instantly against a huge mob of 8-10 stonecloud incubus that just drop out of nowhere! You can't use prots against them to reduce the damage long enough to attack or heal, the kd everyone, they spike, use mind shock which resists armor--so basically w/o pve cheats there's nothing I can do to save him or the party...and not to toot my own horn, but I'm a fucking good prot monk, and having that happens make me feel like a shitty player, when thats not the case. Then for me to get told that *I need* to use Save Yourselves and busted pve trash like that to play really pisses me off. I'm a monk, I should be able to save him, but when he explodes from spontenious combustion faster than I can press a button...thats just not balanced. That isn't how the game should be and wasn't how it was in prophecies when Anet cared. In NWN, for you a wipe like that to happen, you make a bad judgement call, not kite, aggro too much, cast the wrong thing and so on...not just enter the zone. With pvp...god, don't even get me started on the complete mess of power creep and AI replacing players that has become.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* 00:39, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

That would be pretty sweet. I think it would look ok as a scythe. It would probably clip a lot, though. I would really like dual-scythes in the game, because of the attack animations of scythe attacks (the spinning and all), but it would probably make more sense for the blades to face opposite directions. Eh, I just thought of something. If you kept it the way it is, you could just say it's dual scythe with a dual purpose too. Yes, yes, everyone knows that Anet/John love the Monty Python rabbit; however, the Celestial animals are based off of the Zodiac animals of the Chinese New Year. I think it'd be a stretch to make it also relate to the Monty Python rabbit as well, especially considering that Anet just copied and pasted the white rabbit's build....
