Hero armor

Each hero comes with a unique model of armor. You may add Runes and Insignias to hero armor, but you may not remove or dye it. Since the armor cannot be removed, runes and insignias may be salvaged with an Expert Salvage Kit (or better) without the risk of destroying the armor piece. Unlike a player's armor, a hero's armor strengthens as the hero gains levels. Strength at a given level is dependent on the hero's profession as follows:

[edit] Armor upgrades

All heroes except one can have their armor upgraded after attaining a special drop found in certain challenge missions in Nightfall and Eye of the North. Runes and inscriptions are retained when swapping armor types. Only heroes with upgraded armor may be added to the monument of "Fellowship" in the Hall of Monuments. The only hero without armor upgrades, who can be put into the Fellowship monument without, is M.O.X..
