[edit] Welcome
Hello, Mgrinshpon, and welcome to the Official Guild Wars Wiki! If you need help with anything, please feel free to add a message to my talk page. I highly recommend that you check out the "Welcome to the wiki" page - it's extremely useful as an initial guide. Best of luck and happy editing! Also, your signature doesn't reach the standards of the GWW:SIGN policy. So please fix up your signature so it does match the policy.--§ Eloc § 05:36, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've had an account here for a while, since this wiki first opened up as a matter of fact. This is just the first time I've ever decided to contribute anything with PvXwiki being up an all.
- Instead of merely saying, "this doesn't work with this massive block of text", you might want to try being a bit more specific. I end up doing very similar things on PvXwiki. The fact of the matter is, most users (including myself sadly) will say "tl;dr" and not bother trudging through 20 pages of policy for a minute error they've missed. Furthermore, the signature works on Guildwiki which is basically this wiki with a few minor edits in a few policies and a vastly smaller amount of content (which I'll help with when I'm not busy working on things IRL). The signature policy is, as far as I can see, identical. —ǥȓɩηɔɧ〚₮/ḉ〛 05:46, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- "Signatures may show a shortened version of your user name. In order to do this you must register that shortened version as a user account and make the user page of the new account a redirect to your user page. The shorter version must be an easily recognized variation of your name." AS of right now, it's ǥȓɩηɔɧ. Except your username doesn't have a c in it. Also, "Your signature should clearly identify the user". As of right now, I couldn't clearly read that. Too me, that looked like grunch. Which in the end, is far from grinsh. Don't forget to register that name and redirect ;).--§ Eloc § 05:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- A little backstory time perhaps? Mgrinshpon can be split into M, for my first name, Michael, and my last name, Grinshpon. Grinshpon is pronounced Grinch-pon. It's merely a corruption of my actual, real life name and most people on other wiki's identify me as such. This can be seen here, on the last line as well and several other people can attest to that. Armond is one, I believe. Worst comes to worst, I'll change my ɩ to something else. Anyhow, now you know. —ǥȓɩηɔɧ〚₮/ḉ〛 06:04, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- "In order to do this you must register that shortened version as a user account and make the user page of the new account a redirect to your user page." Have you done this yet? "Your signature should clearly identify the user" I still can't read it properly. It still looks like grunch or grunch. Also, anyone can call you that if your signature is like that. People here call me Eloc and my username is Eloc Jcg. But yours isn't grinch, its grinsh. grinch is not a shortened version of Mcgrinshpon was you just changed an s to a c.--§ Eloc § 06:13, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

- Well, you two would be the first then. No one else has ever pointed out they can't read this siggy of mine. —ǥȓɩηşɧ〚₮/ḉ〛 03:43, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- But that doesn't imply that they can read it. I mentioned it to you because I know there's a specific clause that restricts signatures that don't show your username clearly. I think something less exotic would make it better. -- ab.er.rant

- "...you two would be the first then" ← make that three. I just figured out here for the first time that ǥȓɩηɔɧ is supposed to be the "grinsh" part in Mgrinshpon, even after the dozens of times I've seen it back on GuildWiki. I may not be the brightest bulb, but that sig can't really be called readable either. --Dirigible 11:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Too slow. It's already been changed. No need to beat a dead horse. —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 13:01, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

(reset indent) That's almost everything you wanted me to do, save for the I, which, IMO, is fine. —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 04:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I dunno, I still think you should change the ɩɳ to something else.--§ Eloc § 18:14, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- You've already gotten almost everything you want. Leave that bit intact. On a side note, you would be the only person who can't read it. Auron could. Rawrrawr Dinosaur could. Frvwfr2 could. You're the only one. —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 19:08, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Aberant said he couldn't. But w/e.--§ Eloc § 19:12, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I wish you would stop assuming that "nobody complain" = "everything fine". But that's beside the point and thank you for changing your signature. It's much more recognisable now (although I wouldn't mind if you changed it more, but it's ok :P). -- ab.er.rant

Bah, now I have to standardize my sigs on all the other wikis. You're meaner than me, and I'm the Grinch! —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 04:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- I feel for you Mgrinshpon. A lot of people seem to want things 'Their Way'. I See nothing wrong in haveing you're sig exactly as you had it, if they really have that much trouble understanding who it is (which i can't believe for 1 minute) then they can simply click on you're sig, which correctly links to you're userpage, and find out!!--ChronicinabilitY

[edit] User images
Sorry, it's a little troublesome, but you missed "User" in your images. Should be "User Mgrinshpon <something>.<something>". Thanks. -- ab.er.rant

- Ah, I see. Wasn't aware of this tangled web of policies. Eh, it was only a copy/paste from PvX anyhow. Give me a moment. —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 04:11, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- You mind deleting the old images? —ǥrɩɳsɧƿoɲ〚₮/ḉ〛 04:12, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
