Mask[edit]

"This year’s mask design is inspired by the great dragons of legend." Sardaukar User Sardaukar sig.png 02:07, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

It says "Imperial Dragon Mask" on the official webpage, so it might be the same mask from last year, unless it's an error. --Silver Edge 02:40, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Probably an error, it wouldn't be the first time the official page has been erroneous only to be fixed a day later. PariahUser Pariah Pariahmoa.pngtalk 02:53, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
It's an error. The only place where it written Imperial Dragon Mask is that bold title below the table. Everywhere else is "new mask" or "new festival mask".--SharkinuUser Sharkinu sig.png 06:36, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I've changed it to say "new mask". --Silver Edge 08:58, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I hope it doesent look constapated like last year.--Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 16:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
It's merely the last text than last year's one... And the bold title remains still. I'm afraid that the error is actually the mention of "new". Plus the Imperial Dragon Mask is actually the only one in 4 years that is really related to this event. Oh well, enough with the assumptions. Let's wait and see. --Frozen 20:31, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
If you mix Oola, a Nian and a dragon (like that one which inspired the Dragon Mask), you will get a creature which has a head which looks identical to this year's mask. (This is not a joke.) --numma_cway 21:40, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Missions Repeatable?[edit]

Can you repeat the missions since they are offered multiple times? MrKGado talk 03:58, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes, similar to other cooperative missions, they are repeatable. The quests are not repeatable. The missions are available from Captain Rujiyo for a 30 minute span, so if you complete or fail the mission rather quickly, you can re-enter the mission again within that 30 minute span while he is still offering it. --Silver Edge 04:45, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. 140.32.16.100 14:34, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

50 minutes?[edit]

If your inventory is full, prizes will drop next to your character and remain assigned to you for about 50 minutes (after which they become available for anyone). Shouldn't this be 5 or 10 minutes, or have they changed that? --Skekzyz 17:24, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Excuses?[edit]

Okay, is it just me or does everyone else think that they'll cover up the lack of updates this weekend/update day with the Dragon Festival when really, the only thing new will be the mask.. I hope? --122.111.184.252 02:04, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Why do the devs owe you anything? 71.179.33.192 16:49, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Wait what? As far as I know we have gotten way more updates these last few months then we had before--- Lord Krall (21:08 GMT+1 30 June 2010) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 90.224.177.250 (talk).

If you call a few re-named NPC skins, then I guess. The only new area is really LA-Keep, which is a bit disappointing.

Add that altogether and what do you get? An update! :D Honestly they hadn't planned shit for all we know (before announcing the whole WiK event). My proof; the lack of new content, the quests are far too repetitive, and the rewards are basically the same as most other places in GW. So much for unoriginal content. Did you see their pathetic excuse for the delay in Murro? "Oh I was captured". --122.111.184.252 09:03, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Mesmer update, Sliver Armor nerf, Defy Pain nerf... <--- Are these not updates? Also, the War in Kryta stuff added new bosses, a new area in LA, tons of content...Maybe you just don't play enough to notice? OH also Royal Gifts, War Supplies...This is just in the last two months... 71.61.80.135 17:27, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Also Murro's new update looks as if that the final battle is going to be tommorrow. (again) Satrec Pylonag 23:41, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually I'm pretty sure I do play, but thanks for your opinion. :D The bosses, like I so previously stated, are just renamed NPC skins, given the boss aura and a build from PvX. I'd hardly call that new content. The only new content is the SMALL area - LA;Keep, and the Royal Gifts; Krytan JunkFood, 3 New Minis, WarHorn + 3 Other new minis. The new greens aren't necessarily NEW, are they? Once again - they're just renamed skins, Law and Order is just a double CanthanShortsword, so don't say it's new.--122.111.184.252 04:43, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
It sounds like the only thing you'll accept as new is new art, which is only going to happen in very small doses. This is very normal of a game post-release. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 15:45, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
The downside of being one of the cheapest games to play is that it also attracts the people who want top quality for next to nothing, and then complain if they don't get what others pay for. Well to those people I'd like to present the statement that in terms of quality per money, Guild Wars is actually a very good game compared to the competition. 145.94.74.23 09:45, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

The simple fact of the matter is that they are not covering up a lack of updates because they have had a large number of updates the past 3 months. The WiK is no small change. They are building up the story, adding enemies and items, quests and unique drops. They have also recently updated Mesmers, again, not a small update by any stretch. This event happens every year because that's how the in-game world works. The Canthan Empire is not going to just skip the Dragon Festival so the developers can give you another campaign's worth of content for free. So shut up and get some Festival goodies while it lasts. Underworld problem[edit]

Ok...Im koinda new at posting here so bear with me. Ive been trying to farm ectos in the UW the last 2 days and nobody in my party has gotten a single ecto in the 4 runs we went on. Is this a common occurrence during festivals? Cause I really dont need victory tokens... == --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.103.250.82 (talk).

Tokens do not replace ecto, they are extra drops, single monsters can easily drop a token AND an ecto. Also, i did the UW yesterday twice and got 5 ecto (not including chest ones). Edit: Forgot to sign Sonic Saturday User Da Sonic Sig2.png 01:52, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
you mentioned your bigest problem in this, YOUR PARTY , to get the most out of a farm you really wanna go solo, in parties i never get ectos, yet solo i get many. Spark-TBa 08:09, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Timer[edit]

Isn't the countdown timer for the finales off by one hour ? The finale will be in 10mn, not 1h10mn, right ? 213.166.211.46 07:51, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

GMT is UTC+1 during brittish summer time so it will be an extra hour out if your in englandSpark-TBa 08:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm in France, but same problem -__-" I've never understood how these things work^^ Thank you for the answer. 213.166.211.46 08:29, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually GMT is ALWAYS the same as UTC. The confusion arises mostly with UK people believing that UK time as always the same as GMT when in fact it is not. During wintertime, when it is effectively GMT+0, when the clock go forward in spring, marking the arrival of British Summertime (BST), the time in the UK changes to GMT +1. The clock at the top of this page is set in UTC/GMT/Zulu Time, which is a constant all year round, whichever country you live in. It never moves forward or backwards with the seasons, never depends on where you are in the world. See [2] for more infomation Magua 08:38, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
im in uk, and either way of looking at it its 1 hour different during brittish summertime which is what the point i made was to show. just cause i wrote gmt is utc+1 means the same as the time in uk changes to gmt+1 which is what you posted, or am i wrong on this?Spark-TBa 09:34, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually 'GMT is UTC +1' is not true at all, which was the point of my previous post. GMT is never +/- anything and only always equal to UTC. Magua 10:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
i was just pointing out that it was 1 hour after, and in your post you even said gmt+1, im confused now..  :) Spark-TBa 10:04, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Not my intention to confuse anyone. GMT is the same as UTC. The two terms are interchangeable, and mean the same thing. For the UK, Wintertime is the same as GMT/UTC, or GMT+0/UTC+0 if you prefer, but in Summertime it is GMT+1/UTC+1. UK time is not ALWAYS GMT/UTC. Any movement of clocks forwards or backwards always moves the time in your country relative to GMT/UTC. I know what you intended to say with your original post, but it was technically incorrect, hence my unsuccessful attempt to clarify the situation :D Magua 10:20, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
dont know if its cause ive been ofline for a bit or not, but that last post made more sence to me  :)Spark-TBa 17:44, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm noticing[edit]

A stunning lack of availability of birthday cupcakes this year. Should it probably be removed (or at least clarified that it isn't availible) from the list of items you can find/obtain during the course of the festival. I remember the screw up last year, but it's appearently fixed this time around. For The Quin 09:48, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Try the Zaishen Supply Master in the Great Temple of Balthazar, Lions Arch or Kamadan. The one who exchanges 10 Victory Tokens per gift has Birthday Cupcakes available. Magua 10:11, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
You are awesome. Thanks for the tip! It seems silly they didn't keep it at the sjm vendors too though. For The Quin 08:58, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Survivor[edit]

Do the grasps kill your survivor title? It doesn't count as a death but maybe the title goes away? --77.160.189.74 11:12, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

doesn't count as death = safe for survivor.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 11:25, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Quest Bugs: A friend/guildie just came across this, but you can (re)take the 1st mini quest from Imperial Guard Hanso but when you map to the required outpost there removed from your quest log :/ and I tried it myself to find the same thing happening, was this meant to be happening this early after the final gift/present giving? also on one of my chars I was on the last quest before the 5 min warning popped up bout kisu coming to shing jea, so I came back to try it few mins ago and its removed from quest log. --Find And Seek User Find And Seek sig.png 09:38, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Already noted at Dragon Festival 2010#Notes. It actually occurred before the last final event when the decorations were removed. All the Dragon Festival quests were removed from all character quest logs. I was going to turn in a completed Dragon Festival quest just as the last final event started, but it was removed from my quest log when I entered Shing Jea Monastery, so I didn't get the reward for completing that quest. --Silver Edge 09:57, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

I was playing in American 1, and the Grasps wouldn't attack people. Instead, they just followed a couple people around even though they didn't have charges. What's going on? --User Master Fast sig-icon.pngShinigami King 19:24, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Same in International 1 for the past several events. It's a recurring bug. From last year, the year before that, and the year before that, etc. ThrainFile:User Thrain Sig.pngcontribs 19:27, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh wow, I thought it was a new issue. I've never heard of it before. --User Master Fast sig-icon.pngShinigami King 19:28, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Lol yeah, in AE75 where I was, there were three graps, two were just walking back and forth, while the third was standing around doing nothing. The result was 550-0. :D 85.19.140.9 19:29, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
They are on strike. The Celestial Ministry cut the actors' wages, so they're none too happy at the moment.
My last five events had the Grasps either not show up at all, showed up around five minutes late, or showed up but ran back-n-forth or into walls and once, became active with five minutes left. I played American and International events, and it was not dependant on the district (ran three in IE2-all different.)--Warzog Watch your six! 04:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

max gifts[edit]

I got 28 so I changed the range to 12-28 (from 26). Ramei Arashi 19:39, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure that you weren't there for more than 1 event? I've never gotten more than 13-14 gifts per event. Seems like you were there for 2 events, 2x14=28 --LaniaUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 19:50, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I confirm, 12-14 prizes per event (4 events). Maybe a drop rate increases significantly in the case of overwhelming victory, is it possible? In my districts, the result was about 2-2,5:1, no more. But more likely, 26-28 is a double value counted by mistake. --83.237.104.202 20:49, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I was in a district that won 550:15 (35+:1) and still got only 13 gifts.Over 6 events, my range was 11–14.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:01, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
It's an old bug (I assume), sometimes people will get double the prizes. I got 26 at one event earlier today, instead of the usual 13-14. At the following event about three people claimed they got 26 too (I didn't though). C0Zm1c 21:33, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I just got 16. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 21:37, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Gz! Any thoughts on whether people can get double without changing districts?  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:41, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I think it happens randomly. I thought it might be based on how many Celestial Charges you turn in, but when it doubled for me I had turned in 29, but some other guy in another district claimed to have turned in 50 and only got the usual amount. C0Zm1c 21:48, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Except for my first event at 06:00 PDT, for which I arrived to late to get the mask, I received exactly 13 gifts every other event. I danced through one, turned in 15-29 Celestial Charges during the rest, with wins ranging from 200-88 up to a 479-0 shutout.--Warzog Watch your six! 04:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
This is an old "bug" that happens randomly with these present drop events. I have not had it happen yet this Dragon Festival, but it has ocurred a few times each drop event. I can confirm 12-13 gifts each time, and 24 to 26 each time "double drop" happens. This seems to have no relation to score, participation, district, nor any other factor I can concieve. I have more than one account, and have tested many theories. I seen times where 2 accounts will get double drops in the same district as 4 other accounts which only recieve single drops, and have seen the exact reverse happen in several subsequent drops. Among ten accounts held in my household (currently eight, as two are off to college), observed over the past 3 years (prior to that, presents fell unassigned)...there is nothing to indicate that there is anything that triggers this "bug" as far as I can tell. American 3 won as well, despite a hideous 2-3 minute burst of rubberbanding and lag. It'd probably be a good idea if they adjusted the decor removal until after the last finale would be reasonably over, eh? Xylia 07:52, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Dist 35 also reset about 5 minutes into the event, but when it reloaded all the normal NPCs just sans decorations were there and the event restarted, then finished with players winning. So I guess it worked out in the end. -- ᴥ GreyGhost (talk!) ᴥ 08:20, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

America 52 also won, coming from a 30ish point deficit at the start. I'd guess that many players were confused and a brief period of lag at the start was enough to create losses in most districts. The update should definitely have been bumped until after the event. Gwynna Vive 06:37, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
