The 'Read More' link in the featured article section on Ascalon (pre-searing) currently links to the Gwen article. I'm guessing this is a mistake. --Combatter 21:48, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

I think the link from upcoming changes and features should be removed cause it is here and not upcoming any more. Furthermore it is now listed under PvP but it is a purely PvE outpost (my PvP-only char doesn't have access to it). Rumian 10:10, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Weekend event
Hi! The weekend event is beeing updated rather late, I suppose becouse the person who does this lives in a late timezone ? I would like to do this if I can, but how exactly can a normal members edit this ? The main page is unediteble for me and I can't find any redirect or so to the weekly updates items. Or can it yust be changed with the order that is known as stated on the weekend event page. Then we only need to check things if an unexpected event came by. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Minae Iss (talk).

embark
hopefully im not pointing out something that has been discussed before, on the main page under the player vs environment section embark beach has been put under the subheading of cooperative missions, shouldnt it go into the the world.campaign travel part of the pve section as it is an outpost and a designated point to campaign travel between all the dif areas. if this is a valid point and does require moving then i believe the copperative missions section should also be moved to the location where missions is. ::) Spark-TBa 15:54, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

winds of change part 2
Ought to be part of a site announcement and figure in "this week" or "this month"75.37.16.48 15:28, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- No. It's not a monthly or weekly thing. They're just more updates for Guild Wars. It isn't a monthly event. It's a standard update/addition of content. I vote removal of the +11 WoC quests item on the main page.115.64.200.42 03:29, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- It might not be monthly or weekly, but it's new and it's not listed anywhere else on the main page. It's also not standard, since it's a one-time content update. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:48, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Front page looks stretched
With the addition of a GW Beyond button at the top of the main page, it now stretches the tables such that left-hand cells (such as the featured article) take up more space than they need, while right-hand cells (such as latest ingame activities) are squashed into a space too small for their content. This makes it really annoying to check today's activities easily and makes the page look terrible. My resolution is 1440x900 and my browser is windowed to maybe 3/4 the width of the screen. --Wormwood 16:04, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- same on mine, activities box is down to 2 words per line, maybe have the campaign buttons etc 3 on top line 2 on the one below, this ruins the layout as it is now. Spark-TBa 20:27, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

- Yup, I've just checked it in Firefox and the table looks normal there. My usual browser is IE. However, even the Firefox version requires horizontal scrolling unless I resize the window to be really wide; I agree with Spark that some of the buttons could be rearranged to make it more compact. --Wormwood 22:07, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- yeah, i get most of the leet people here use firefox, but ie still has like what, 60% of the market of us idiots who use it? so probably shouldnt be just coded for firefox. looks super unprofessional with how it is now. almost as bad as the formatting style on the wikia sites. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.226.187.11 (talk).
- hmmm ill have to check it on chrome... yea i see what your talking about you would have to ask poke or someone who has access to the main page edit. i will say this though and that is that its been up there and like that on the main page edit for months and no one said anything so like i said about the Halloween decorations the only people you have to blame is your selfs.- Zesbeer 01:41, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- The halloween editcopy has only been up for a day. Finding blame right now misses the heart of the issue: That row of images (more specifically, the GWB box) screws up the columns in non-Firefox browsers. --Riddle 02:35, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- the Halloween editcopy has nothing to do with that new image. it was there for months longer then when i switched to the Halloween edit.- Zesbeer 02:56, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ariyen somewhat fixed the stretched columns prior to the Halloween edit. However, trying to lower the size of the Halloween images to a point where the columns aren't stretching too badly makes the halloween images looks terrible. So yes, the GWB image has been there for months, but the columns weren't too horribly stretched until the halloween editcopy.
- However, you were editing it in Firefox and didn't know that it was causing the other columns to stretch for non-firefox browsers. Also, while the subject was brought up on the editcopy talkpage, it wasn't discussed very heavily until the page was synched. For what it's worth, the issue would have come up anyway when we had synched a non-Holiday editcopy. --Riddle 14:40, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- The Beyond one was added on the 24th, two days ago, making the main page too large for 1024x768 screens (which some of us do use); the previous version barely fit but looked lovely. I'ma gander the table stuff was fixed since, as that looks fine on here, but the thing as a whole is still just too wide. Considering that it's the mainpage, making it as widely compatible as possible would probably be wise.
- I'm not saying you should get rid of the Beyond thing, but perhaps moving both that and the EotN thing to a new line would work better so everything still fits? -— Apheori (talk) 15:04, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) The advantage of not having a real OS is that you have unlimited monitors of arbitrary size. This is just shy of 1024*768, and it looks fine. The problem is more likely the combination of a teensy-tiny monitor and a crappy browser/crappy wiki software (sorry guys). I get the best results with websites on IE9, Firefox... whatever the latest version number is, and Chrome(ium?). –Jette 16:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

- While i dont know if i really fixed it on the editcopy, i just added in a little end table bit, because i think the mish mash of tables between the picture section and context sections was causing the issue. it still doesnt look right code wise to me, but it looks better in my IE. does look better for anyone else, and does this change break on other browsers? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.226.187.11 (talk).

- Yup, table in edit copy is fixed for me (IE) too. The page still has a horizontal scrollbar, though, which is irritating. I measured my window and it's 1050px wide, which means even folks who maximise their window on the very common 1024x768 resolution are going to have to scroll to read the daily activities. (Edit: Actually, looks like 1024x768 isn't so common these days after all. Even so, I doubt I'm unusual for preferring to keep my browser windowed, and it's not exactly a small window.) --Wormwood 00:48, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- I tried to fix the width on the editcopy, but I don't know if it might have broken things in the process because quite frankly the entire thing is a mess of nested tables that don't even seem to follow consistent pattern (that I could tell). Which was probably what caused the other problem, but I'll just... not go there. Hopefully the rest of you have more of an idea what you're doing and can sort it out, though. >.< -— Apheori (talk) 01:38, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- your "fix" looks awe full my second monitor is 1024x768 and even with my side panned open it dose not have the horizontal scroll bar, i think if we just reduce the size of the images it would look better but then again i hate how that top part of the main page looks anyway.- Zesbeer 01:56, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

- Poke, your fix didn't change anything on a small resolution; table cell sizes are treated as minimum sizes, and when the content is larger the cells become larger to compensate. On a larger screen, however, it actually makes things worse for the Beyond because it needs to be a smaller width to fit with the others - so now it just has more empty space around it than the others. Also, is the Beyond thing really so important? I mean, it doesn't even have an official logo... there's no shiny bauble for the bonus mission pack and pvp stuff on the mainpage, either, after all, and those seem to have as much if not more for them on the main site. -— Apheori (talk) 13:41, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- @Zesbeer, I didn't suggest removing the beyond logo, I suggesting leave it all alone as the usual main page template has no issues with the logo in relation to the actual website sizing when in a windowed browser.--Wingsy 15:20, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
