Noob To This, But

Just a heads up, the Main page isn't viewed the best in Google Chrome. Was just wondering if it's just me or if it's actually Google Chrome or the way the page is designed. Maybe other people have been having the same problem? Just wondering thanks for your time. Tygerq 09:49, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey, just in case anyone was wondering... todays zquests are jade quarry, charged blackness and ravens gate. the wiki has posted this yet so... i tried to. i found out i can't so i posted this. I hope it helps =-D

Holiday decorations

I think it's worth unprotecting the activities and featured article templates; the main page will be updated quicker, and it's unlikely for common vandals to vandalise it (since it's a template and not the direct main page). Since it won't be moved for a legitimate reason without discussion first, the move protection can stay. If we're still worried about IP vandals, we can keep it autoconfirmed protected; however, we won't really know if IPs will vandalise it if we don't fully unprotect it. -- pling 22:40, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure it's necessary for either, since one only changes every couple of weeks and the other is listed in-game, but I'm also not sure which would be quicker, a revert of either page being vandalized, or a response to a note on the AN for one or the other to be changed. -- FreedomBound 19:40, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll note that I generally change the /activities page when I see a ping on my watchlist on the Weekend Events page (and load up the login screen to double-check), or when someone mentions it here, or on /activites talkpage, or /editcopy talkpage (I have them all watchlisted, and I suspect a few other admins do as well). I've never found it to be a particular bother, though of course there will always be people who want it done faster. - Tanetris 21:07, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Should any of this Viral ad campaign stuff be listed and archived here at all anywhere as notation? It is a one time event that is possibly gearing up for the 5th anniversary celebration...

Css error!

This is not specific to the main page, but it best place i can think of... Gnome's Epiphany was changed to WebKit render recently and so the problem become obvious to me. I expect this to happen on other webkit base browsers. The navigation, search, support and toolbox appear under the content area. The wikipedia render correctly so obviously someone screwed the gwwiki default css. I could not find the problem reading the source or find a way to view css history to spot the bugus change. --Bob 14:32, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

News Tab

This might exist on here in some form, but I was thinking we could use a News tab for the main page. Somewhere we can put up links to things like the War in Kryta page, or the interview about the Guild Wars Beyond from Gamespot, or a link the the blog when it's updated, or a link to the page revealing the elementalist class and some of it's skills for GW2. Somewhere on the main page we can put it so the wiki can be the 1 stop for all primary Guild Wars information. 58.106.43.167 21:18, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

On the second part of your post, this Wiki won't be the 1 stop for all GW info, because it only encompasses info from GW1, and the tidbits of GW2 relevant to GW1. Everything GW2 is over at the GW2Wiki. -- Arduin 21:20, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

And why would we get a new look because Wikipedia did (also, I don't see any major change to the look of Wikipedia other than the minor changes to the navigation tools)? Wikiepdia changed their default skin from Monobook to Vector. The next major MediaWiki release, 1.16, includes that skin, and I think it's great :D (well, most of it...) -- pling 17:11, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
