Team is a temporary classification that determines whether creatures are allied or hostile towards each other. When a zone is instanced, all parties are assigned predefined teams. Summoned creatures are assigned to the team of their summoner. Team members are always allies, while other teams may be allied or hostile. In Player versus Player, other teams are always hostile.
In Player versus Player only, teams are identified by a color. This color is reflected in their name in the interface, in compass markers, on the cape of player characters, and as an aura on animal companions and minions.
The gray team is a special team with no normal members. It is reserved for masterless minions.
